Your'e a literal life saver for this! I just started to draw digitally and I been super frustrated bc I was spending too many hours trying to work with a program I couldn't understand. But bc of you I can finally pull off some decent art!!!
FINALY !! I have never find a video when someone tell all little things but very important of Clip Studio until now ! Thank you so munch for this video !
it's so nice that you give titles on the timelines. I feel kinda good I learned some new things simple tutorial and Golden the arrows on the montage was pretty cool cant wait to learn more about Gradient maps !!!!! :D
This is by far the best tutorial I have watched. Most artists I have seen on RUclips are going so fast and not so much into details, it is not even a tutorial anymore...Thanks for taking the time and not rushing it...
This video tutorial is so helpful. I'm an artist that is a newbie to the world of digital art and I'm enjoying drawing on art tablet & learning how to use digital art to improve my skills. I feel like such an amateur, but I'm enjoying learning each day especially with video tutorials like this. Very easy to understand and love how you Point out everything & show each step by step. Appreciate your videos and definitely helping me improve and love drawing again.
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, I TRULY APPERCIATE WHAT YOU HAVE SHOWED ME. Truly I always struggled with layer mask, like it just would confuse me and something about just didn't seem to click until I found you. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤❤❤❤❤
This was the first video to pop up when searching for help with layers. I'm a physical artist trying to move digital and this was a MASSIVE help. Even though I'm used to using layers in things like photoshop I was struggling when it came to actually drawing.
Ahh thank you for this, I'm just starting learning and you helped me so much, other people I've seen forget that it's very confusing at first and not explaining why are they doing things. It's so much nicer to hear why someone is using something not only see them click on it. Thank you!
Thank you, I am so happy I found your video. I struggled so much with layers and understanding how clipping masks work, shading etc. This is so helpful, tears of joy! :D
Hiii thank you so much . My scroll bar for my layers had disappeared for weeks and I’d been struggling . I watched several tutorials but no one seemed to explain it or even talk about it . I tried the reset workspace tip that you gave and it’s back 😭❤️.
you had me at Lock transparent pixels ,i always wondered how most of the artists i follow did that ,and now i know ,thanks to you ,subscribed for ever ,just kiddn ,
Thank you so much for this video! I've transitioned to digital in the last two months, and I've been teaching myself through trial and error, and countless not so helpful videos that caused more confusion lol. I've been trying to figure out clipping and you video gave me that moment of aha! And it clicked, so thank you!! The other thing I'm struggling to figure out is layer masking.
This appeared in my recommended. I know pretty well how to use the layers on CSP almost like a year ago. But I entered to the video anyways to see the drawing of the thumbnail. The art it's just so pretty.
This was a very enjoyable video. I couldn’t get to the nitty gritty as I was drawing myself but there are some tips that will go a LOOOONG way in my work flow.
Thank you VERY MUCH, Your Video was very helpful, there is one thing I need help with maybe you know a tool or option that can help. I use clip studio paint (for about a month or so) and there is one thing I have been struggling with when adding shadows I like to break down my characters shadow zones into different layers based on shape like having the head on a seperate layer to the neck since the head is spherical and the neck is cylindrical. After I make the new layer for each shadow, I isolate the head from the neck and the background so I can use the very edge of an oversized soft brush to give the neck or head a round look and it works GREAT! The problem is that if there is even the SLIGHTEST overlap where the head and neck meet the Multiply layer makes a DARK zone that is almost unavoidable. Even with much time spent cleaning it up the is always a few pixels left and the only way to get rid of the is to merge the layers later and try to blend them away without ruining the shadow separation. Is there a way maybe using the lasso tool to cut/isolate a portion of your drawing and move it to a layer above or below while leaving the rest of the image behind as well as leaving vacancy in the old layer from what you removed (so the is no darkness added by the multiply effect, without what you cut shifting around so it lines up pixel perfect, so you can color it or merge it later on without any overlap?
Thank you so much for this one of my weakness when it comes to digital art is the layer it's sound easy because it's the thing that everyone will use but it is overwhelming sometimes💀
It´s a really good tutorial. I was anxious about a few things towards my art, but seeing you help me a lot to understand my own process. Thank you for everything and keep doing so well.
Wow! Thank you very much for that video. I was looking for so long and finally yor video helped me a lot. With your nice voice and the on point info´s. Thank you so much. Would love to learn about the clipping masks and so much more. You are awesome! ^^
In terms of layer workflow, I just make a template, so when I start a new project it always has the same structure. I also use folders to keep everything organized that way I don't have to worry about how many layers I am using, everything is still easy and quick to find. Plus, with folders it allows me to collapse the folders I am not using and only show the layers I need. Having everything separate is also just more useful for making alterations later.
Thank you so much for breaking down your workflow and the layer settings!! I'm a self-taught digital artist and this has been SO HELPFUL for speeding up my work and eliminating tedious work like erasing around the edges after shading (for one example). You RULE!! and das da troof 😌
One of the most helpful and clear tutorial for a beginner. You didn't miss a thing for a beginners' eye and did explain details (most of artists forget small details which is a big deal for us beginners). Thanks for your effort.
this was super helpful! im a begginer to digital art and i was kinda lost with the workflow and how the layers behave but omg this was right in the spot thank you so much!!! .......btw you saying Sh1t Was super funny XD again thanks a lot Cx
Idk if you figured this out yet or not but the very first layer that pops up that you're not able to color on, you can double click it to pick the color! Still can't draw on it or anything but thought that might help.
plzzzzz someone tell me how do u apply ur flat color easy and fast coz im about to kill that bucket tool !! .. and great video really helped ❤♥♥🌺🌺✌🏻💟 .. and i gotta say that ur style is really whats keepin me to try to improve to reach that level of pretty!!
Your tutorials are amazing. Keep up the great work. There are so many things in Clipstudio I want to know more about and you explain things really well. :D
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! I've been trying to migrate from PS to CSP, but I always felt overwhelmed because I didn't know how to adapt my process... but your video helped me so much! Have a nice day 💖
Thank you so much for this!!!! Was hoping to find a CSP tutorial that actually explained the layering processes in detail. This tutorial is perfect for those just starting out like me hehe :P Thank you for your effort
I'm glad I'm not the only one who occasionally says, "Why is nothing happening?" Thanks for this informative video! What is the best way to prevent a background layer from showing through a line art character that is drawn on a separate layer?
Haha! Yeah, that happens to me all the time. What I usually do so that the bg doesn’t show through is to make a layer in between the bg and the lineart where I can paint in colors for the character
When you colored the hair brownish/red, why didn't it go outside of your lineart? Did you do that with layers? Or did you use the auto select, if so why did it work because there are some gaps in your lineart. Don't know if i missed it.. Else great video :)
Lock Transparent Pixels, but instead of activating it on the lineart, I activated it on the flat color layer that I already had painted in. ruclips.net/video/j-vG4fmEXus/видео.html
tre been drawing digitally, on and off, for 9 years now and I still struggle SO MUCH with colors and effects and layer settings bc while I've experimented with all of it I just. I've never tried a greyish color on hard *light* mode for shading??? Im struggling so hard with that and its so frustrating bc without it every piece just looks BURING and LACKING
I have a question! For the LONGEST time I'm searching for this ruler on the left side and the top of the canvas in CSP. I have the EX Version. I'm too blind to find it, where is it? >_
@@ChrissaBug ... lol. How on earth did I miss this a million times. In my head it was always 'Oh yeah ruler, must be for the perspective tools'. Anyways, thank you. I feel a bit dumb XD
Do you mean to make then visible and not visible? When you look at your list of layers there's 2 check boxes next to each one. One of them becomes an icon of an eye. If the they eye icon is there you can see that layer, click it again to not see it again. Is that what you mean?
Argh! Confused. I lost it at 9:50 in , to much going on, with all those layers . Please slow down. ( 2DAYS IN WITH Wakom smal clip studio) Lock transpancy looks promising , and how do you add layers to be able to draw inside the lines ,NOT the lines themselves, with out coloring out side of lines ?
I'm stuck can you please help. I did got done with sketch later. And made layer for line art, but cannot draw or color anything. I check and unchecked "lock pixel" thing, and tried with "clip to layer.." tried things off and on and nothing grants me the ability to paint my line art :(.... What did I do? @ChrissaBug
"Clip to Layer Below"!! 🤯 This will save me So Much time & effort! Thank you!!

@ChrissaBug newbie here 👋 please could you show us how to customise clip studio paint pro and the best layout to use? 😊 its alittle confusing...
💜
thanks
This has got to be the best tutorial I've seen about layers, just explained everything that was driving me nuts! I love you
how do you remove the pixilated layer when you finish the lines
Do you know how to save the file with all layers intact ?
I'm new to Clip Studio Paint ,and being a kid i dont usually understand what artists who give tutorials say,but your tutorials are really helpful
um @ChrissaBug are you using a freaking mouse to draw that? or a drawing pen like wacom and huion kamvas?

Off to paint over my shit. And fix my shit. Such a cool video. Thanks for this
This is my biggest question how did you get the layers to show because my csp won’t show them and when I look up how there’s no good answers
Do you mean to make then visible and not visible? When you look at your list of layers there's 2 check boxes next to each one. One of them becomes an icon of an eye. If the they eye icon is there you can see that layer, click it again to not see it again. Is that what you mean?
