    You know what? Actually, thank you so much for your tutorials, not only did I start understanding more in art, you also inspired me to make my own videos. I really like your character, the colors, and especially the poses, how you draw hands and figures in the whole. So, probably almost any time I make my video I start thinking about you like: Oh, remember bluebiscuits? She has this amazing artstyle :D

      Yes always used to shade randomly to make it look good but always knew it made no sense

    As someone who did exclusively pencil art and now is trying to learn digital, figuring out how to do lighting (especially with colors) has been really tricky for me. This video is exactly what I needed! Now if only I had more time to practice… 🥲 Thanks, Blue!

    I know you've gotten the same comments alot, but I truly can't express how grateful I am for this video being made. I mostly understand tutorials in a simple sense and all the other tutorials were too difficult or the artist used adobe illustration app or procreate. I watched your video on how to find my art style when I didn't know ANYTHING AT ALL about art 4 years ago, but I wanted to start, even though I don't know a single thing about it.     AHH! I discovered your channel a few days ago while looking for good human tutorials since I really wanna learn how to draw em.     i cant believe that edge lighting is actually that easy to do. idk why i thought it's some super complicated process maybe bc it look so dramatic and effective at giving mood to a piece but wow it's so simple and look so good! thank you so much

    Huh, I usually just use 2 colors for the lighting and then use overlay with the same hue but brighter and darker. This helped a lot! I will incorporate some of your techniques in my future pieces!

    Hey just one thing!
    The thing about lighting (3:59) is actually the opposite! The farther the light source and the object are from each other, the harder the shadows will be. Think about the sun, it's super far and it project hard shadows. This is because the closer (and the bigger) one light is to a subject, the more it is able to go around it and illuminate it from different directions, creating a softer light, while a smaller or farther light can only illuminate it from one single direction. I know the sun is huge but it is so far that it can be considered a point light. :)

    if you are using cool colors then use warm lighting but if you are using warm colors use cool lighting, always works (sometimes) :)

    I've been using Clip Studio for a long while now and I've watched quite a few clip studio tutorials in that time, but I cannot recall anyone talking about the gradient map layer!! And you explained it so simply and clearly! Thank you so much I'll be having a TON of fun with it!! 😄

    I’ve mostly been using Krita because of the ease of use and the brush packs that are more easily identified, how much of this would work on Krita? I also have CSP because it came free with my tablet but I found it kinda complicated

      i use to use Krita and you can def do this on any art program as long as it has layers :DD
