You know what? Actually, thank you so much for your tutorials, not only did I start understanding more in art, you also inspired me to make my own videos. I really like your character, the colors, and especially the poses, how you draw hands and figures in the whole. So, probably almost any time I make my video I start thinking about you like: Oh, remember bluebiscuits? She has this amazing artstyle :D
I don't speak English, but I really want to say: your art is beautiful. I really like your coloring and the atmosphere in the work. I wish you good luck in the development of the channel.
As someone who did exclusively pencil art and now is trying to learn digital, figuring out how to do lighting (especially with colors) has been really tricky for me. This video is exactly what I needed! Now if only I had more time to practice… 🥲 Thanks, Blue!
I know you've gotten the same comments alot, but I truly can't express how grateful I am for this video being made. I mostly understand tutorials in a simple sense and all the other tutorials were too difficult or the artist used adobe illustration app or procreate. Thank you sooo much for this, I've been stuck on lighting for agessss
Omg I finally found you. I watched your video on how to find my art style when I didn't know ANYTHING AT ALL about art 4 years ago, but I wanted to start, even though I don't know a single thing about it. Now I can draw perfectly well and I just wanna say thanks for your content man, you're really a hero!
AHH! I discovered your channel a few days ago while looking for good human tutorials since I really wanna learn how to draw em. Your tutorial was actually super helpful, and it helped a LOT more than all the other ones I’ve watched. After that, I got sucked into your channel and found MORE super helpful tutorials and stunning drawings! I just want to say thank you, you’re such a great artist and teacher, and also a big inspo of mine!
haven't watched the vid yet, but just wanted to let you know that you're such a massive inspiration to me. I hope you're always happy wherever you are.
I have watched this tutorial a few times now and revisit it whenever I am drawing something new. It is simple to follow and for me to create impactful lighting. Thank you!
How come every single time I look up a tutorial for something, you're always there? I'm not complaining at all, it's just super funny and also really helpful because the art style I want to learn is really similar to yours :D
i cant believe that edge lighting is actually that easy to do. idk why i thought it's some super complicated process maybe bc it look so dramatic and effective at giving mood to a piece but wow it's so simple and look so good! thank you so much
Amazing work! I appreciate you having a polyp to show what you click/pick and going at a slower speed where we can actually see what you’re doing. You are a great teacher and I adore your style!
i know I'm late to this video, but I've been putting off colour on digital for ages now and this is seriously, so far, the best tutorial I've watched, this has been incredibly helpful, thank you so much
I've always been curious about this kind of lighting. It brings out so much personality to the piece and it seems hard to achieve Thank you for this vid blue
Thank you this was geniinwly so helpful. Dramatic lighting has always somehow baffled me and I straight up could not figure out how to do it, so thank you this is exactly what I needed!
i dont do digital art, but your style has really inspired me a lot. last year i didn't make my advanced art classes, but ur channel has been a really big help, and last week i got the note saying that i made it into next years class. My art teacher is even letting me paint one of the walls of her classroom! ( im doing a little mushroom village
Your tutorials are always so helpful for me and many other artists! Thank you for posting these, and I wish you all the best with your art as well, Blue! 💖
Thank you! You both remind me to do things that I get and are obvious but that I forget to do, and make me get what I'm doing, since you kinda explain what to think about, instead of just saying do this or that
Your little character is so cute!! And your art style is amazing too, very elegant and pretty Keep doing this good work, your videos are a huge inspiration
The best light tutorial for me. I finally can do it 😂 tysm It is quite hard to find any tut easy to follow or describe everything in 1 video. Huhu luv u
Huh, I usually just use 2 colors for the lighting and then use overlay with the same hue but brighter and darker. This helped a lot! I will incorporate some of your techniques in my future pieces!
Harrrdd love on the video. Lowkey im a starting artist and feels like you blew my mind a little with these techniques. Thank you so much and i cant wait to start on a new drawing now hahaha
Hey just one thing! The thing about lighting (3:59) is actually the opposite! The farther the light source and the object are from each other, the harder the shadows will be. Think about the sun, it's super far and it project hard shadows. This is because the closer (and the bigger) one light is to a subject, the more it is able to go around it and illuminate it from different directions, creating a softer light, while a smaller or farther light can only illuminate it from one single direction. I know the sun is huge but it is so far that it can be considered a point light. :)
Thankyou so much like I needed this, I've been trying to figure it out for so long but u make it so much easier to understand, love ur art as always, stay healthy and happy :Đ
omg actually got so lucky with this, I dont use clip studio (expensive) but this is really helpful! I was just looking for helpful material for my comic and this just popped up
I love your videos so much. You make it really simple to understand. I’m really interested about your oc that you draw a lot. I wanna know they’re backstory because they seem like a really interesting character. They also look like my main character and that’s another reason I like them lol.
I've been using Clip Studio for a long while now and I've watched quite a few clip studio tutorials in that time, but I cannot recall anyone talking about the gradient map layer!! And you explained it so simply and clearly! Thank you so much I'll be having a TON of fun with it!! 😄
Hey Blu! I’ve seen and studied your basic anatomy video and it really helped me out with everything! I wanted to thank you and was also wondering if you’d continue doing a dynamic pose video? While the anatomy video has really helped me progress I am still stuck with very flat and stuff poses lol. If so I look forward and Ty again :)
hello there I would like to ask every time I put shadow my details are fading? can you please help me how could I still make the details stand out even when I add shadow or light please ;A;
I’ve mostly been using Krita because of the ease of use and the brush packs that are more easily identified, how much of this would work on Krita? I also have CSP because it came free with my tablet but I found it kinda complicated
