I agree. When I had my house it was very isolating. I now live in a park model in a rv park. Lots more activities and people are friendly. I don't want to go into a house again. I'm 66.
Life is full of changes and adventure. I started camping first in a tent when I was 65.I changed to the car after having to sleep in my car during lightning and wind storms and seeing people doing it on youtube like you. I thoroughly LOVED it. I would just get in my car and go go go whereever I felt like going. It was actually kind of hard to come home. Now at 72 I have a hard time even convincing myself to go on a day drive.😂 I am a total homebody. I have birds and fish and I am enjoying them. I also love taking care of my yard. My last big trip was almost 4 years ago when I took my time driving from Utah to South Carolina to stay with my daughter for a few months. After I got home from that trip the travel bug was gone. I get a little spark every once in a while but then this pops into my mind (been there done that)and I just stay home. 😂 I am really impressed with these people in their 80s that still have that motivation.

I completely understand how you feel Linda. You have always loved traveling and being outside in nature. I think you should be proud of yourself for wanting to go out and enjoy your life. I love going out to parks all the time and you are right that our circle of friends gets smaller. I am 66 and retired in December and want to go out and enjoy as much as I am able to. What a wonderful life you are living.
I totally agree with you as we get older we do have less friends. Also I find that at my age 55 that we have been empty nesters before some. So those we know who have kids still at homes do not have time it seems to do much. so I think we need social interaction. Our pastor many times in his message talks about community and how we need those to talk to. He talk about how much loneliness there is in the world. I do enjoy talking to people . I do talk to people just waiting in the grocery store line. My kids used to think that was so strange but hey were all just standing there. Ha Ha. Your a strong lady. God bless on your journey.

Linda 195 thousand miles on a Toyota is nothing..I bought a new Toyota pickup in 1990 ..Back then the pickups didn’t have names ..well anyway I put on 350 thousand miles ..Hardly any problems… Loved listening to you ..🙏💙 There is a nomad lady’s birthday coming up in 18 days..?..

Hi Linda, Just want to share that I am the same way about living in a home, 4 walls. I call it a glorified prison. I am very grateful for my home and thank God for it as I do not want to sound not grateful. I could never explain well the clostophonbic feeling I get and also depressed. I am 69 and never understood it before. So I totally understand what you are saying about needing to get on the road and the connection with mature. Thank you for your videos. That's such a good description of how your tank gets empty after a while of being alone. The thing I miss most about being younger is how easy it was to connect with other people. Now it feels so much harder. Even when I meet new people it doesn't always result in a new friend. It does help us go inward though and develop a more sincere level of authenticity. I watch videos like yours because I am unsure what to do next. I think I need to look around and visit some RV communities, explore the tiny house option, etc. Thank you so much for your openness and for sharing.
Your a amazing lady to travel solo and so many miles. I know your never a lone when the Lord with with us. I like to travel too. I do like when I get home but then once I am home then again i am ready for another small trip. My husband and I have a small camper and we have traveled many places with it. It is small but it meets our needs and that is what counts. We have animals and we love to take our animals with us. They are 2 small dogs. Our camper is like their second home. Linda, I totally understand what your saying. I have a 16x20 cabin in Alaska. I have been home 2-3 weeks. I am already feeling locked down😳 My rv is in AZ for my winters. I have a summer rig here. Mini van, but it is still too cold and damp to want to go…yet! I’m a Gypsy Soul, too🚐

What mid life journey you've experienced Linda....to be able to travel and live in a car throughout then purchase a tiny house and lease the land, then sell that and take off again in a vehicle!!! You've used ur money wisely and able to travel again. Its like being free, no mortgage, no rent, just a free soul enjoying life and sharing. The only reason we love to go home is because of the family there and friends that surround us. If you don’t live there you wont have friends and family there so I wouldn’t want to go there either. Your friends are all over the place! So you have to keep traveling to feel at home.
I have watched your videos for a couple of years. I was a truck driver for 20 hrs. I loved staying in rest areas. I had a Coleman stove and everything I needed to cook at a picnic table. I see you don't have a bed in your car. Do you just sleep in the driver's seat?
Maybe you could sell your tiny house and buy a new Toyota Highlander or car of your choice. then you would have very little chance of breaking down on the road and could travel anywhere😉👍💕

The only reason we love to go home is because of the family there and friends that surround us. If you don’t live there you wont have friends and family there so I wouldn’t want to go there either. Your friends are all over the place! So you have to keep traveling to feel at home.
I have watched your videos for a couple of years. I was a truck driver for 20 hrs. I loved staying in rest areas. I had a Coleman stove and everything I needed to cook at a picnic table. I see you don't have a bed in your car. Do you just sleep in the driver's seat?

It's obvious you truly enjoy your lifestyle, and I think that's wonderful. You sound lonely, talking of friends and maybe marriage one day... I was wondering why you don't have your home base closer to your grandchildren? You can still "do you" with travel and all. If you've discussed this before, I'm sorry, I don't remember. I ask this because it would break my heart, not seeing my kids&grandkids. I would truly be so lonely without them.
Oh I do love seeing my grands.. of course there is no guarantee they will stay put.. and Im not going to choose between families either..
