  • In this video, I do a comparison of the Kinetix Racing plenum and the stock upper plenum. The Kinetix plenum is a great upgrade for more power, it increases the volume of air that can go through the intake system. The manufacture raised the hight front to back, and deleted the six bolts that lead to air restictions for better air flow. You can expect great gains if you pair this with the Mrev2 lower intake plenum, and posibly more with a tune.

    I like the idea of the composit manifold. What I didn't like was seeing it flex when the engine would rev. How has yours held up?

      Hey thanks for checking out the video, I like watching your videos with the 350z. But back to you question the top manifold does great under load while hot and it doent flex. The reason I prefer the kinetix top manifold is that it doesn't heat soak like the stock aluminum one, and you get the extra volume just like you would with a plenum spacer, also you don't have the six bolts blocking the air flow.

      @@latenightgarage7895 Makes sense. I'm running the Motordyne iso thermal gasket kit and will be Cerakoting the intake manifold in the winter to help reflect engine bay heat.

      @AnthonyJ350 I have a video where I install the MRev2 lower plenum and the kinetix top and in that video I show them with the DEI heat treatment paint plus I took off the lower runners, cleaned them and sprayed them to then put the heat shield under the lower runners and under the lower MRev2 plenum to help those aluminum parts with blocking heat. I also don't run my car in cold temps so I bypassed the coolant to the throttle body to help with air temps.

I got every other supporting mod just not sure exactly the manifold setup yet that bottle neck is exactly the key area for sure though where the DE loses a lot of power from.

    • @latenightgarage7895
      @latenightgarage7895  2 года назад +2

      It's a great mod for more air volume in the intake but, honestly if I could go back I would have bought the stacked intake. Reason I say that is, the stacked intake is one whole piece which is great because you don't have to buy a lower mrve2 plenum and a upper kinetix intake. Plus it has a great design to help air flow into the ports.

    • @latenightgarage7895
      @latenightgarage7895  2 года назад +2

      $800 is alot but when you put the two sets side by side one being the Mrev2 and Kinetix intake and the other being the stacked Kinetix intake, the price is way less for the stacked intake. It's about $700 for the Mrev2 lower plenum plus $300 for the kinetix V+, and like you said the stacked intake is only $800 so it's about $200 less and others say it's a great intake for boost setups

      @Anime-boy if you just got a Kinetix intake note that it's has a cork gasket, in a different video I removed mine bc the oils from the pvc were getting soaked into it making it fall apart. I used RTV to help seal it up but that's was with 10xxxish miles on it. If you have a oil catch can I don't think the cork gasket would be affected then. @@JuanRodriguez-uh4hr Gotcha I would go with the kinetix top because its a hard plastic that won't flex, and it doesnt hold heat like the stock aluminum one does. The Kinetix doesnt have the 6 bolts disrupting the airflow and it allows more volume wirhout a spacer which is a plus. Adding a Mrev2 lower plenum would also help. I have a comparison video on the Mrev2 vs the stock lower plenum. They make better lower end torque together.
      (If you have a DE motor with out the Rev Up motor 03 to 05 the Mrev2 lower plenum won't make a difference, but if you have a 06 to 07 DE Rev Up motor the Mrev2 lower plenum will open up lower torque).
