Your coolant pipes need to join together. Don’t cap them off. The coolant won’t circulate properly if you cap them. So instead of going through your throttle body as before, just join them together
That might explain why it was so difficult to bleed the system this time. The other side of the pipe is just the inlet to the heater core and the other side the outlet of the core. I don't think it will make much difference when those pipes are so big already.
