Extremely helpful... was looking for a video like this Thanks! One question, how did the burn spot in the center develop? I was told the coating doesn't last long. Wonder if adding a layer of oil before each session will help prolong wear?
That's a good question. Over time and use that spot developed. Seems to be a burn or scorch spot of some sort. Also sometimes I wait for the surface to cool down before cleaning, and I wonder if that has anything to do with that spot. I can tell you for sure, that is the hotspot of the grill.

I'm thinking below 400 degrees with a coat of oil before bringing it to temps could help... simular to Seasoning. The manual says not to leave the lid down while heating for longer than 10 minutes. Just got one second hand in like new condition, only used a few times and seeing temps waaaay off :( Luckily only paid $125 w/cart.

I will check that out. I usually cook 375-400.
What about if you keep the kid down while heating it up?
I was thinking the same thing. The lid down should it heat up faster.
