I bought the 22" with stand, i Learned 1. Preheat with lid closed Temp Rises faster 2. I Dont Rec Cook anything Frozen ..Thaw it First 3. Temp will Drop But It Will do the Job! I close the Lid while its Cooking at times 4. Ive had diffrent E Griddles and this one is Hands Down the Best weve ever cooked in . Ive had my friends come over and give me a compliment ...now they all own one 😁
We have both e-series griddles. 17 an 22 are both superior in performance. We use the 17 inch in our camper. The 22 inch we use at home. We/my husband loves both of them!
Had the same issue. Called Blackstone and here’s the fix….baking soda. I had tried and tried to no avail. I finally got it off easily with baking soda. Wet a paper towel, sprinkle the baking soda on the areas and rub. The griddle does not have to be hot or even on. It came off easily without damaging the non stick surface.
Duckie, we have also a 17" E-Series griddle and also developed the stain you have at the griddle surface. Ours was worst than yours. I saw a video from the Waltwins on how they deep clean their Pit Boss griddle. I believe Pit Boss uses the same surface as the Blackstone for their griddles. Search in RUclips for "HOW TO DEEP CLEAN PIT BOSS SIERRA AND ULTIMATE GRIDDLES! REMOVING STAINS ON CERAMIC FLAT TOP GRILL". We use their baking soda method and use vinegar as well. It took me a few hours scrubbing and scrubbing but the stain completely disappeared looking like new again. You have to be patience. I suggest that from time to time you do a deep clean that way you don't have to spend hours and hours scrubbing to remove the stain. I hope this works for you..it worked for me. GOOD LUCK!!
I enjoyed the video, a real unbias opinion. As to the heat loss, I have had a few different high end electric grilles and skillets and they have ALWAYS suffered with heat loss. Some had a better recovery than others only because of more wattage than this 1200 watt unit. Just the nature of the electric beast. thank you
I am impressed. I know you used it a lot. It's held up plenty fine for the price of it. The temperature dropping is something that I read is coming with the 22in electric griddle from Blackstone, for that reason I've avoided getting one
I mean they are still in my op one of if not the best electric griddles on the market!! does it have issues ? Yes, but man can it really cook up some GOOD GRUBBIN'
I’ve been internally debating picking one up to make smash burgers inside the house during the winter. Its issues holding temps are concerning to me though. Great video! 👍
Great review, I want a griddle, not sure which one just yet, summer is here so maybe an outdoor one, I live in an apartment and have a bbq on the balcony, so I wonder if the bbq griddles are any good? Broil king makes an exact fit for my Baron grill
When it comes to outdoor just make sure you can get the proper heat to the griddle. That being said BTUs are everything when it comes to searing on a metal griddle. I hope this helps you out as I am not familiar with your brand of grill and I love my blackstone so I’m a little biased lol but hope this helps my fried
You know that I’ve had these issues with mine early on. Even after swapping it out, still had the same issues. Mine is probably 8 times darker than yours in the center area. We still use it occasionally, but I feel that I’ve just moved past it at this point. Even before I bought my outdoor griddle, I rarely used it. To me it’s just your typical indoor electric griddle.
I’ve noticed several negative reviews of the 22” not holding heat and being uneven. It has me sort of wanting to get the 17. Or possibly just a high end regular griddle. Any pointers?
the 17 has the same issues. if you get a 17 propane blackstone no issues but if its for indoor cooking I mean all electric griddles are not very good on keep heat. but the blackstone does a better job than most. hope that helps you out my friend and GOOD GRUBBIN

Wtf it says right on the package not to use metal Blackstone tools to instead use e series Blackstone. Mainly made of a harder silicone plastic so as to not damage the surface and stop the heating from being all wonky in different spots on your Blackstone e series.
What metal was used ??? I only used the E Series spatulas. They are high temp plastic and the egg rings are plastic and silicone So where is the problem?

I'm gonna check that out. Thanks for the info and GOOD GRUBBIN my friend!!!!!
baking soda will eventually degradate the surface because it is abrasive.

I mean they cook smash burgers ok but not like the outside unit. but over all it is still one of the best e-griddles on the market!

Contact Blackstone they will replace ur grill top I had a heating problem they replaced my entire 22" e series we love it

Baking soda and water takes the black off!
I've heard bad things about cooking sprays on griddles. I would use olive or grapeseed oil in a sprayer.

No ducky put that cheese on top of your sandwich don't scrape it in the grease pit Please please no or I will call the Cheese police
I'm sorry Bill I had to. But you are right that would have been a TASTY piece of cheese
You’re supposed to use plastic you’re taking off the nonstick coating
Still nonstick sorry to disappoint ya on that my friend
