My parents, sisters and I loved listening to Louis Armstrong. Many years later my grandkids loved listening to him and we would sing along . Kiss me once and kiss me twice it’s been a long long time. Hello Dolly it’s been swell Dolly. Boy those were the days.

We played What a Wonderful World on constant repeat when we had to put one of our beloved dogs down a month ago. Her name was Georgia and we've had her and her sister Peach for nine years. Both were rescue dogs and lab/hound dog mixes. Since we couldn't have kids of our own they became our babies.
We didn't find out u til it was WAY too late that Georgia had an inoperable cancerous tumor growing in her. So instead of electing for surgery that would basically sent her to the surgery table to die, we choose to have her on her bed and cushion at home, and the vet made a house call to come and have her put down in comfort and in peace to THIS SONG.
She was daddy's baby girl and it was one of the hardest decisions I e ever had to make in my life. That day crushed me and I miss her so much, but she's over the Rainbow. Ridge now and playing with Jesus. I'll see her again someday.
But we had this song playing on repeat until the vet got there. It just felt like the proper send off song for her and we were right. Thankfully, her sister Peach is still with us and doing well.

My singing voice is very similar. I have been covering his music for years. Then, I found out that he died the day before I was born. Made it a little weird, given how much we sound alike. But, I was not a very good trumpet player in school. Only played for 1 year though so....I don't think I'm re-incarnate, but, we had a high five on the way by each other I think. Lol. R.I.P. Satchmo. Funny story, he got that nickname because he sold newspapers in his neighborhood when he was a child. The old timers in the neighborhood would see him coming, with his satchel on his shoulder, and say "here comes little satchmo". It stuck.
