I feel like, having a black goddess vocally underlining everything I say, would totally give me an edge in any debate. Or imagine a job interview. When do I start?
@@magyar9479 Often times, black singers have a very characteristic voice. Louis Armstrong's voice is very exeggerated, but they tend to sing louder and with more throat that classical white opera singers. But black soparnos (or trained singers in general) can switch between a very "throaty" voice to very clear notes in the blink of an eye, like she did in this recording.
I had this song in my head all day so I finally decided to come here and listen to it. I love his voice it's so soothing and he truly loves to sing. You can tell it brings him joy to bring us joy.

@tylerjamar8443 That’s how ray william johnson starts all his videos off and a popular meme right now is this song covered by popular tiktoker Andy Arthur Smith paired with an AI video of ray dancing.

I feel like, having a black goddess vocally underlining everything I say, would totally give me an edge in any debate. Or imagine a job interview. When do I start?
I was thinking how lovely she was as well a true inspiration from the past
A woman of skill and class
@@magyar9479 why does everything have to be offensive
@@magyar9479 Often times, black singers have a very characteristic voice. Louis Armstrong's voice is very exeggerated, but they tend to sing louder and with more throat that classical white opera singers. But black soparnos (or trained singers in general) can switch between a very "throaty" voice to very clear notes in the blink of an eye, like she did in this recording.
Joker 2 has brought me back to this instant classic ❤
That poor inmate 😢😢😢😢😢
I had this song in my head all day so I finally decided to come here and listen to it. I love his voice it's so soothing and he truly loves to sing. You can tell it brings him joy to bring us joy.
I don’t get how something like this can exist and it’s not #1 on the charts, I don’t care if it’s been nearly 100 years, this has got to be some of the best music to ever be played!

You're right about that. Anothercof my favorites is Fats Domino. The man was awesome.

This is a very rare version. Because I have the full discography but I can't find this one in it. The vocalist killed it! It's really amazing!
"There is no meme..." The man"s voice is a blessing no matter what you do with it ✌🏽
Every time I watch Louis Armstrong sing, I can’t help but smile. That smile while he’s singing. He’s so damn happy, I love it.
Nobody will ever have that smile. Every broken heart could forget for a moment when listening to Louis Armstrong. A powerhouse of talent. Thank you for your life. RIP.
Her voice is beyond amazing
I love Louis ❤️ but goddamn that women's voice was amazing 💕
Miss Jewell Brown! What a GEM! I was in Gospel radio for a while and most "regular radio listeners" dont know the amazing singers who are in that format. It was truly a blessing to be part of it all. Thank you Louie! Say hello to our Dad in heaven. And thank you for being so nice to us kids when we met you in the familys restaurant in Corona Queens NY. And Miss Brown if no one heard this back then thanks to the internet we ALL have now, everyone share!
She looks amazing too.
Please don't use that bad word it's really bad God bless you
@@robjontay5052 spent alot of time in Corona Queens but i remember when we went by a cemetery in Flushing that's where he was buried and there was a light by his grave that stayed on 24 - 7

Just found this! Listening with tears in my eyes - happy tears - still play the lp and cd and dance alone with a glass of wine and a cigarette! I"m 74 and the feeling does not go away!! :):):)

This guy was happy all the time...even when there was nothing to be happy about.
I have been playing for over 72 years and, although I have witnessed racial prejudice, I have never experienced it among musicians. If a person can play or sing it doesn't matter what race he or she is! :)
Take a good long look, this is what talent looks like and sounds like.
That melody was used to teach me and my colleagues in junior marching band. We don't even know the real name of this song - we called this "sol dó ré mi", name of the firsts notes of the music. It's a great pleasure to hear this and remember that times. Thanks to my dad to present this for us! ❤
For everyone, here are the musicians playing in this version: Armstrong, Louis (trumpet); Young, Trummy (trombone); Darensbourg, Joe (clarinet); Kyle, Billy (piano); Cronk, Bill (bass); Barcelona, Danny (drums), and Jewell Brown as vocals
she was pretty
J E W E L B R O W N ! WOW! Although Louis Armstrong is my favorite entertainer (or at least one of them), the one who stole this show IS J E W E L B R O W N , THAT LADY WITH THE MOST GORGEOUS LOOKS AND TALENT. Her voice! I fell in love with it, and with her! Well, God bless her, she's still around and just 79 years of age. Born August 30, 1937 in Houston, Texas. She's a jazz and blues singer (oh, what a voice! And her killer looks! She's so, so attractive and sexy in the video! WOW!). In 1971 she retired to look after members of her ailing family. She later also opened a hair salon in Houston. In recent years she did return to singing, for instance in the Heritage Hall Jazz Band....
