Words are too cheap to describe the level these musicians were on....tribal spiritual musical nourishment... Highly gifted and annointed.

I was a few weeks old when this concert took place. Twenty years later I started to listen to his music. It’s gratifying to read the comments from all over the world appreciating this great man.

Louis Armstrong, The Best singer and musician of the world Jazz in all time.

Louis "Pops" Armstrong. The single most important musician in American history. No one else is even close. Ever listen to any musician
step into a lead to play and improvise? Then you are listening to the legacy of Louis Armstrong. We all owe Pops a great debt. Try and find any jazz musician who can play the intro to "West End Blues". Impossibly beautiful. Want to know Armstrong's soul? Listen to him play his signature song "Black and Blue" a Fats Waller classic: "The only sin is in my skin". God bless Louis Armstrong. You are the best and loved.
Nina Simone
He his well alive in our hearts 💕. Good sound JAZZ
That drummer, Danny Barcelona (American born), was one heck of a fine drummer. The best drummer ever !!!
Sorry but John Bonham (Led Zeppelin drummer) has nothing over Danny Barcelona. 😂❤❤❤
Wow !!! This is the third live concert recording that I've seen Mr. Barcelona played. He really was the best classically trained drummer ever.
I love my Pops and his bands (all of them). He carried mostly these fellas for years. They were the best quintet under Pops supervision.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for gracing us fans with this timeless gem of a concert.
Blessings to you all & your families. 🌺❤️🙏

Me encanta Luis.
Those old places bands and night club's had a very special magic. Louis and his group got it extra special.
I've always loved Satchmo, he's the greatest!

I was 12, lived on Army Post in Stuttgart for a year in 1967. Amazing how quick the Americans forgave the German people for their participation in the War...

I read he actually got his start on Steckfus Steamers riverboat the steamboat J.S. And story is he said "playing on the J.S. " and thats where the term "jazz" came from. Him and his horn are in Heaven.
Sono stati, sono e saranno sempre i miei idoli, avevo dieci anni cioe'60 anni fa quando con il piccolo giradischi Lesa ascoltavo il vinile At the Crescendo vol. 2.😂😢,fino a consumare tutta la puntina, adesso mi vengono i brividi come alllora.

Dommage pour vous !
I've seen other clips of the actually much longer '59 Stuttgart concert, but had never before caught the "Faithful Hussar" encore. Pops seemed understandable tired in the last choruses of "Saints" but somehow amazingly buoyed, apparently by the ovation and the flowers, he was at his peak level and had the strength to play thr final chorus, as he always did, an octave higher and really popping those notes. Amazing. And very moving as there is nothing remotely like him now. And, for that matter, never was.
