I still love this movie even after all these years brings me back to days watching movies like this one with my Grandmother. She had no one else to watch him, so she grabbed her little grandson to watch these films.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. One of the rare instances where a remake at least equals the original. I think my favorite thing about it though, is that it reveals the origin of Louis Armstrong's famous nickname, Satchmo.
I am an old guy now (87 years) and I saw this film in the first week it was released in England, and this HAS to be one of the most catchy songs ever written. Even now I cannot resist tapping my feet when I listen to it. It is one of my "Go to" songs when I think of my past years.

I am a fan of Shirley Bassy, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and the list goes on. The feeling that is generated from these singers is very calm, peaceful and balance and jazz music is no exception. These music teach you how to love, how to appreciate and the importance of time. Every young person should listen to the song 'yesterday when I was young ' I love Jazz Music. It relaxes my mind.
That is a myth. It was a studio multitrack recording mastered to perfection that was played back as the sequence was filmed. All the participants being the consummate professionals that they were, their synching was perfect (well, almost - Crosby's word "therapeutic" and some of Armstrongs lines are slightly off).
@@lwf3652 I don't remember where I heard that myth repeated, but yes, Bing does a great job synching to the playback, and so does Louis! According to Wikipedia, the introductions of several of the band members are backwards...
@@GBBIII I just read that Wiki entry and it is incorrect. Kyle was indeed a pianist, Shaw a bassist, Young a trombone player and Hall a clarinetist. At least they didn't dispute Barrett Deems on drums. I do note one possible miss by Deems after the end of Armstrong's vocal where we hear a phantom snare hit that he seems not to do on film. But I love watching his drum work here, it is just superb.
