LoL “Lewis” GODDAMN ! Mr Crosby’s Voice sounds unbelievably warm. He could have put out a record reading the yellow pages and it would have held up to this day and beyond.
And Satlch really liked the fact that all those white people had to be polite to him and his group. This is not the best written musical bit, but he and Bing blessedly shoved sheer talent down a bunch of DeadHEADs throats when they went live with this.
Yups, this is one of Kim Taehyung (V of BTS)'s favourite music style. Thanks to him and his recomendation, i enjoy this song. Thanks a lot Louis Amstrong, Bing Crosby, and Kim Taehyung 😍😍💜💜💜
Who came here after listening this masterpiece song from V's IG post? I'm here just because of V...and I love this song.... he's a best amarican singer...and this song released in 1956.... this song was famous at that time...and again it became famous for V...... 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜
Dear Heart, white Nationalism continues to be a drag our continued existence as human beings. No matter what, we humans must stop the insanity of perpetuating myths about each other. But we, of course, have to choose to love and appreciate each other, or we lose. Everything.
@@noah6351 I was thinking about segregation and how so often studios would avoid bringing black artists into movies In High Society. No matter how famous they were.
"Chapeau!"
I love this music and the clothes, I think that in a past life I was born in those year n lived it a lot. When I m listening I feel I m turn in those time.
Love this but I also love how army literally gave this video over 600,000 views crazy how Taehyung has shared a wonderful taste in music and army is loving it just as much 💜💜💜💜💜💜
They rehearsed this every day for a week. And Charles Walters, the very underrated director, gave Bing his moves. It's impossible to recreate because there's so much talent on screen.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. One of the rare instances where a remake at least equals the original. I think my favorite thing about it though, is that it reveals the origin of Louis Armstrong's famous nickname, Satchmo.
There was a whole lot more to Bing's music than just "White Christmas". In the 30s, his heyday, his scat vocal performances were way ahead of his time!
@@SandfordSmythe He was also regarded as a hell raiser, getting drunk and smashing cars. Not at all like the laid-back partner of Bob Hope or the friendly priest he played in his middle years.

From the Golden Age of cinema. Scenes like this are impossible to duplicate this day and age. The whole movie is a masterpiece.
Two of the greatest performers of all time. Remarkable to think that High Society was made nearly seventy years ago. It's hardly dated at all.
At 86 I have fabulous memories of lots of great talent. These 2 are of that group. I absolutely love music from the 40's and 50's.

For a man who kept his emotions in check, you can't help but notice the affection in Bing's eyes while performing with Pops.
