Lots of concert performance films show audience shots. I don't see anything disrespectful about it, it just shows how much the audience appreciates it. By the time this was recorded, he was a giant, for both black and white, and all across the world. He had a tough start in life, but that wasn't uncommon in New Orleans in 1901, and he soared above it to become a legend. Don't be disappointed, be glad we had him and can still enjoy his talent!
Tell me, if he had been white and poor and oppressed by other people, would he have been 'privileged' to have made it? Or just worked with talent to get there?
There’s a tradition among jazz singers still in the know, and of a bygone era - Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, and so forth - that while singing this song and running through the modulations, it’s appropriate and even expected to shout out the names of those who have sung it well, past or present, mixing their names with the characters of The Threepenny Opera (1928), from whence the song “Mack the Knife” comes.... Louis Armstrong here namedrops Lotte Lenya, wife of the composer Kurt Weill, member of the original cast. But superstition prevents any singer from mentioning Kurt Gerron, the führst to sing and record the song... why this is is a matter of debate, and something of a jazzlore legend unexplained - ruclips.net/video/G-q0eOkdL2M/видео.html
Many in Brecht's artistic circle were leftists who got thrown into the Camps by Hitler. When the Russians came they were thrown into the Gulag for not being the proper leftists.
Louis Armstrong, what a special man and talented performer. I just hope our youth of today and our future, experience his beautiful songs and celebrate his life for what he did for the music world and the entire world. GOD bless Louis Armstrong!
When I was a kid, I couldn't figure out how a guy with a voice like that could make a living as a singer. Obviously, he was primarily a trumpet player but listen closely. He hits those notes and his timing is perfect. On top of that, he infuses it with feeling and enthusiasm. Love you, Mr. Armstrong.
@@salimasencio3629 I'd hardly say not putting someone in the top four is "no love". If my list went down to a top 8 or 9, Jackson would certainly be on it. There ya go!!!
Only ignorants can criticize Louis Armstrong voice, of course it was coarse and uneducated, but how much we loved it and still love and like his records.
He probably has a better voice than Louis Armstrong. Louis had a very bad voice but he managed to sing with good intonation and loooots of expression.
You do not have a better voice than him at all I don’t even know how you can say that😂
Thank you..lois Armstrong !!
Those people who disliked must have fallen asleep and there face hit that button.
THIS IS JUST GREAT !!!!! LOUIS ARMSTRONG!!!!! I LOVE YOU !!!!!!
One of my favorites by Louis Armstrong. Everything about this video is beautiful despite the lyrics.
Now we're talking, Louis ! Oh yes & Mack da Knife !
It doesn't get much better than this!! Note 😉 the vibration in the trumpet notes at the beginning! ! Wow!
Magical !
так вот какой оригинал песни "о жизни чёрных негров" Коммунизма. Интересно
Used to love dancing to this man and his music! Fabulous times!
In the early days, living in their squalid apartment, all three shared dreams of success. In the end, however, Bob the Spoon and Ernie the Fork wound up in an old silverware drawer, and only Mack the knife went on to fame and fortune.....Farside cartoon ... LOL
Awesome ! Just a masterpiece !
Why is it nothing today is even close to this? EMI have got to constantly dust these down! Buff said!
В полном восторге !
dziś już nikt tak nie śpiewa szkoda bo powinniśmy równać do najlepszych
