This show has given me so much entertainment, even in just the couple of months that i've known about it.. Thank you for the perpetually effervescent charm and silliness, fellas.
It’s a shame because “Rebel Moon” in the context of a space story is such an enticing title and concept, but then they had to tack on “child of fire: armageddon: chapter 1” or whatever and now it sounds like a generic young adult post apocalyptic novel or a generic mobile game franchise.
I was just over on Big Sandweech, listening to episode 159 of 'Suggestible' (where you two recommended two movies I really enjoyed: Weird: the Al Yankovic movie and Caterhine Called Birdy), and towards the end James made the questionable claim, "I'm normal." Just to let you know how deeply I've been brainwashed, I immediately said out loud, "a normal man doing normal things". I'm lost, I have no mind of my own, there is only the podcast(s).
Wonk the line should be the sequel after Wonka's life takes a darker turn after his chocolate habit gets out of control after embarking on an unexpectedly successful music career. I really enjoyed Wonka though, suitably feel good and uplifting for Christmas.
Now is a good time to rewatch Michael Mann's 'Heat' for Caravan of Garbāge before Michael Mann's 'Ferrari'. I bet you may or may not remember that Natalie Portman is in it as a kid.
As an American ( don't worry, I'm very disappointed) and historian, it is legal for a president to serve up to 3 terms as long as one of them is "in a time of crisis" FDR did it during WW2
"he's talking to Tommy....................in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuture", in highschool we used to try to make the pause get longer and longer (for dramatic effect of course). Frequency was a decent flick!
Fellas, please do not stress about getting an Aquaman 2 pod out on Christmas. None of us are gonna go see it so you may as well wait till it’s free on HBO Max
The problem with the rock in serious dramas and films that arent action stuff, is that the guy is MASSIVE. its now to the point where its at his detriment. Irs hard to put a guy like that in normal roles. Is every character he does just going to have to have some sort of body building background added?? Like its impossible to ignore. He cant be a struggling single, normal dad, that youd see in your neighborhood. He just doesnt look normal in any way. Stands out like s sore thumb. Very hard to get immersed in the idea hes a normal dude and not a giant action star muscle man.
The thing I was happiest about was Rich Fulcher. The thing I was least happy about was how Wonka was a good guy. Considering, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory is about him attempting to kill kids.
It's honestly something where I imagine he came up with the idea on his own and didn't check to see if it had been done before. I never watched the show but if I had to compare it, this movie looks like a prequel to how that shows world works, at least what I read on IMDb
There’s also a horror movie I saw on SyFy about an imaginary friend named “Pretzel Jack”. The premise was the same but I’m sure Krasinski’s movie won’t end with multiple murders 😂
I kinda want to see you guys review aquaman though so you can maybe tear it apart. Then again maybe you guys will tear apart rebel moon maybe if you hated it.
Back in the day they would have happily marketed Aquaman as “the end of an era” suggesting you had to see this last movie to find out how it all ends but I guess they’ve conditioned people to believe these should never end.
I like this idea! They could even say the "8" in "h8t" represented there being eight hate mails per segment―but then they could add a layer of humor by never actually reading eight hate mails.
I liked Rise of Skywalker, and the whole trilogy to be honest. The whole thing was a crazy badly planned out mess full of incongrously decided plot and character lurches, plot holes that only a nox fuelled sense of childish excitement could jump Burt Reynolds style, and the sense that the whole show was a series of course corrections without any actual first planned move to go wrong. Basically it felt like original trilogy Star Wars again......... and whilst i believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i was born in 1975 and feel that my xmas list choices for the best part of a decade funded Lucasfilm and without me no one of a younger age would have experienced anymore star wars past the Holiday Special. So basically , first; you're all welcome, and second; my opinion on Rise of Skywalker is the only one that counts, and that includes everyone who made the film too..... now get the hell off my lawn!
Yeah, I know Rise gets a lot of (justifiable) hate, but I think it was a big ask - to take the mess that TLJ left them with and somehow craft a movie that could act as an end to the trilogy, and the Skywalker Saga as a whole, while satisfying the entire fanbase. Doomed from the start, really. And yet, when I think back to the Sequel Trilogy, most of the moments I look back on fondly are from Rise...
You know, I always HEAR how James is a big ole weeaboo, but I still haven’t heard him speak on the greatest storytelling anime of all time: Attack on Titan. Probably the best storytelling of any kind of show IMO lol.
Zachary Levi's comments were intentionally taken out of context by bad actors who want him to suffer because they perceive him as right-wing. It's really no different from how people went after Gunn because of his previous edgy jokes. Hopefully Gunn realizes that.
I wish Zack Snyder had just stuck with his zombie universe. It wasn't great, but those two movies were entertaining. Rebel Moon is relentless mediocre and a sad waste of a lot of great actors' time.
Who cares about Aquaman 2 ? It looks like crap. And Hugh Grant is following the Johnny Depp/Tom Cruise career path - just the same character over and over again. And cash the cheque. Which honestly? Good on em.
"It's not magic, it's technology!" Clearly "magitech/magitek" and "alchemy" are not concepts understood in Australia. Nor apparently the basic fact that if something defies physics, it's just magic. "But a device was used!" Yes, because nobody has ever used wands, crystal balls, or anything like that as magical devices. Having more moving parts and looking more like conventional technology doesn't stop magic from being magic. If it doesn't abide by physics, it's magic.
I’d like to start a petition to use the sound byte of mason saying “we the best podcast” as the new intro
I'd sign that petition
You dare oppose the intro of a many persons childhoods?

Which episode was that from?

yeah! I'll mostly leave horrible comments on RUclips, to exist in another life, but this is true! nicely put!

"Fine I'll make my own star wars, with blackjack and hookers!"- Zach Snyder probably.
Read this as "with Jack Black and hookers" and honestly I'd watch that
🤌
He definitely said that, because he's not about to come up with a new or interesting way to say that. The accompanying visuals will be great, though.
@@softballhumanoid yeah if you like slo-mo.

Man I was so ready to vote for Rebel Moon part One for "The game is on" from the title alone, but its hard to beat "The entirety of the DCEU".
Weekly Planet drops line up perfectly with the beginning of my work shift! 😁

Finally someone acknowledged the Numberwang reunion!!
It’s a shame there’s never be a Great Glass Elevator movie.

Just watched The Replacements a couple weeks ago. You're not the only one who loves that one, James.

Yu yu hakisho is a spirit detective. The action is pretty cool. Blue Eye Samurai is super awesome
For a minute there I thought you were talking about superheroes on Cameo, and I felt really bad for Zach Levi.
Fellas, please do not stress about getting an Aquaman 2 pod out on Christmas. None of us are gonna go see it so you may as well wait till it’s free on HBO Max
I like the Replacements! When they’re singing and dancing to I will survive in the holding cell is awesome
Amazing episode
More like Wonkly Planet gottem!!!!

I love them dissecting Death Stranding, it doesn't make anymore sense when someone explains it but it is a brilliant game if people give it a chance
I love these two brothers
Eddie Murphy should circle back to being a Vampire in Brooklyn again

How did James hear that setup and not realize the "secret ingredient" was gonna be love or whatever
There is no secret ingredient (◡ ω ◡)

That If movie's entire idea comes off as a copy / origin story for Fosters Home for imaginary friends.
It's honestly something where I imagine he came up with the idea on his own and didn't check to see if it had been done before. I never watched the show but if I had to compare it, this movie looks like a prequel to how that shows world works, at least what I read on IMDb

Y’all should do a segment called “hate mail” but the hate should have an 8 in it, cuz it’s cool.
This idea is incredible. I think we should do this immediately
