It's my birthday today, been listening since I was like 16 and I'm now I'm an old dying man of 25! Thanks for the ripper birthday gift and hope everyones having good one! [edit] Thank you for all the birthday wishes means alot!
Sometimes Nick Mason's jokes aren't what actually makes me laugh. Hearing James's silent wheezing laugh as a gasp for air, because he's laughing so hard... Cracks me up
When the guys mentioned theres gonna be another jurassic park/world movie I audibly groaned and said "Just let it die already". Missed the podcast, happy to have you guys in my ears again. Happy new year to you both!
So happy you guys are back. Been listening for almost 9 years since I was 13 years old. It’s part of my daily life and when you guys go on break It’s like losing a friend. But then you guys come back and it’s like a connection restored. Only thing is you guys don’t know I exist but hey my view is on that ticker now
also "The Maxx" animated series was part of the late night MTV programming in the 90's... it acted as Season 2 to the show 'MTV's Oddities' which I believe was a spin off of (or had some of the same creative team as) Liquid Television... another Gem of a show
1:09:34 I have no issue supporting (sending money) for the pile of cocaine but I will absolutely NOT be supporting (sending money) for the gold Delorian, I put my foot down at gold Delorian
Listened to this on Apple and sat thru the first ads to make sure I didn’t miss the beginning bit so that I could hear what you’ve done for the new theme song… well done fellas- welcome back!
So glad to have you guys back--I have been listening for the past 2-3 years, and I do not miss an episode. I am particularly psyched that you mentioned the new Spider-Man comic, which I would not even have considered until you shared that Hickman is writing. The first issue was great and I cannot wait to read more. Thank you!
Bride of Dracula's Wife!!! (Says James) That sounds like a way better movie than the Dark Univers could ever make. Imagine if Dracula's wife had a wife, lol. Sounds like a Taika Waititi movie to me.
the new year doesn’t start until the boys are back side note: Late Night With The Devil just got a release in March, really hope you guys check it out! Saw it at the Chicago Film Festival last year, great indie comedy/horror from David Dastmalchian
You both seem to have forgotten that Endgame was originally “Infinity War Part 2.” But they did it, I think, for exactly the reason you guys said. I don’t think they changed the actual contents of either movie
Funny story about the twisters movie It's being filmed in Oklahoma City and there have been several times where a lot of people have panic and thought a tornado actually touched down because of the damage on the side of the road down the street from Walmart 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Finally, RUclips ads worked out: immediately after James gave his audition for the role of Indiana Jones, the video was interrupted by an ad...for the Indiana Jones game, like they'd summoned it with James' pitch perfect, spot-on performance. Couldn't tell the difference when Indy started talking in the trailer. Very much agree with Mason on Echo: I liked the show, but it did feel like a longer show that was cut down for some reason, and the powers just didn't quite work (partly as they're fairly vague), something that might be due to cut episodes or such. Great episode, glad to see the two boys/friends/possible brothers back at it, even if James is doing so without caffeine (the poor man, I'd be crashing hard in that state).
The Postman book is actually really great. Nothing like the movie- it includes super mutants, rogue AI, and a main character who doesn't give a shit and basically takes advantage of people being idiots. Worth a read
May I suggest a 50 minute Madame Web pre-release episode? Followed by a post-release review and a one month retrospective talking about its lasting impacts on the pop culture zeitgeist.
FWIW. In recent years the comics have taken Echo's hero name to mean less that she has photographic reflexes, but that she's channeling the legacy of the women in her family who were great leaders. As in she is an Echo of her past. They were also all hosts to the Phoenix Force. I suspect her vaguely defined orange glowing healing powers were to maybe leave that as a possible in if and when they decide to introduce that concept.
The Oscar connection for Challengers is its *writer* is married to 'Past Lives' writer/director Celine Song. Also both movies are about a married woman who ends up in a love triangle when a man from her youth reenters her life...
Salty comments are always gonna be good for the algorithm so here’s some bait for you boys… ‘get on yer back!’ Not gonna lie if Echo has Daredevil bait in it then I’m not bloody watching it until they actually release a new Daredevil series and the reviews don’t gun it down immediately. I’m glad to know that the original Disney+ Daredevil series was cancelled because of poor production but honestly I didn’t realise I could STILL be disappointed by Disney’s attitude toward other people’s franchises. Oh btw Daredevil Season 3 is epic, way better Daredevil story than season 2 which was a great punisher story but a lacklustre daredevil story - and mainly serves as set up for Defenders, which is rubbish.
I read Big Game on Mason's recommendation on a previous episode. I really enjoyed it, except for the ending. Felt like a cop out and was a bit rushed. I was wondering how Mason felt about the ending.
Start with the FF already well established in their universe, but no kids. Start the movie as a news reel or whatever that gives us some exposition, and then the opening scene is the team testing Reeds newest machine that GASP! may allow them to travel through universes! It works-ish, but it attracts the attention of Doctor Doom, their nemesis that was already mentioned in the opening news reel, and he wants it. Movie happens. It ends with them pushing Doom into a giant portal gone wrong or whatever. Post credits is Reed realizing he can't just dump Doom on an unsuspecting universe because he's too powerful, the rest of the team of course join him (that's why no kids), and then they are all officially on their way to the MCU. Easy.
For what it's worth, The Max was definitely aired in Australia, but I think it was maybe SBS in the days you had to mess around with an antenna to get reception... It was messed up, but also pretty great.
I'm with Maso, The Old Guard was a Netflix movie I thoroughly enjoyed and would very much like more of. Also, shame the obligatory Star Wars News didn't contain any updates about Andor S2. It's the only Star Wars I care about.
FYI in case they read the comments The Maxx animation played on SBS back in the day on either Friday or Saturday nights in the late 90s after South Park.
Oh, good, more Lord of the Rings prequels, those have been... existing pretty frequently over the past whatever years. It's not literally impossible that this one will be good.
That Ultimates Spider-Man comic literally sounds like the Heroes Reborn plot where Phil Colson erases the Avengers from existence and becomes the president. Might check it out because I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Happy birthday!! Have some Bovril!

Dude I’ve been listening since I was 16 and am 25 too! Cheers mate!
Been listening since I was 25. Gonna be 31 in March. These guys are now ingrained in my daily life ☠️
Every time y’all take a break it really makes me realize how much I look forward to this every week. 8 year listener, cheers to another great year!
Sometimes Nick Mason's jokes aren't what actually makes me laugh.
Hearing James's silent wheezing laugh as a gasp for air, because he's laughing so hard... Cracks me up
Weekly Planet? More like Monthly Planet am I right guys?
Glad too have you back guys hope you enjoyed your break.
Tom Cruise & Alan Ritchson in.. Reacher Vs Reacher - The Reacher-Round!
I came here looking for this. Emphasis on “came”. Gottem.
@@adder2488 😀..this week's Caravan of Garbage trivia section is come themed, I sense a pattern!
You beat the "hello Bois" joke to death, but it was the "get on ya back" line that had me dead
You got any spare pants? It’s not important why!
This podcast is as refreshing as a pint of SPUM!
"That might happen or it might not. I don't know."
*This* is the kind of inside scoop that I come here for. Well done, Sirs.
It’s back! Now the year can really begin!
Reacher Round House joke was right there guys
Wow! James mentioned "spookiest time" without mentioning tax season. This is growth. 😂
It was the least impenetrable in-joke of the podcast, too.
@MitchJT tell that to the Corn of Coblin! You'd have to be a mentally ill child not to understand that.
I love the new 2hr+ theme song. Can't wait to hear it before every new episode this year
When the guys mentioned theres gonna be another jurassic park/world movie I audibly groaned and said "Just let it die already".
Missed the podcast, happy to have you guys in my ears again. Happy new year to you both!

Always think of The Head and The Maxx and that dude who lived his life with the blade of a power saw in his face.
“but all roads lead to take on me.”
right on brother
1:09:34 I have no issue supporting (sending money) for the pile of cocaine but I will absolutely NOT be supporting (sending money) for the gold Delorian, I put my foot down at gold Delorian
And here i thought i was going to be drinking my coffee alone, the boys are back!
Listened to this on Apple and sat thru the first ads to make sure I didn’t miss the beginning bit so that I could hear what you’ve done for the new theme song… well done fellas- welcome back!
The 4th good netflix movie is Outlaw King. Actually fantastic historical epic
Uncut gems
Beasts of No Nation!
2 friends who MAY or MAY NOT be brothers
Just wanted to say I have been a fan for a while and hope you folks had a great new year.
So glad to have you guys back--I have been listening for the past 2-3 years, and I do not miss an episode. I am particularly psyched that you mentioned the new Spider-Man comic, which I would not even have considered until you shared that Hickman is writing. Do The Postman for Caravan of Garbage!!
“Im not saying this could be good” is the right attitude for this year in movies and tv
Bride of Dracula's Wife!!! (Says James)
That sounds like a way better movie than the Dark Univers could ever make. Imagine if Dracula's wife had a wife, lol. Sounds like a Taika Waititi movie to me.
the new year doesn’t start until the boys are back

I’d love to see the Fast X1 go back to basics and have them street racing in LA! And then see them stuck in traffic for a majority of the movie
You both seem to have forgotten that Endgame was originally “Infinity War Part 2.” But they did it, I think, for exactly the reason you guys said. I don’t think they changed the actual contents of either movie

1:12 I love the part when you call Mason “butt Mason”😅 great stuff!
“Dolemite Is My Name” is one of the four.
May I suggest a 50 minute Madame Web pre-release episode? Followed by a post-release review and a one month retrospective talking about its lasting impacts on the pop culture zeitgeist.

You never realize how long the break is until we’re in it, good to see y’all back!
I don't comment ever, but as a massive fan of both Aunty Donna and you guys, that Broden bit had me in stitches the entire episode.
😂😂😂😂
So where can I sign a petition for James to voice Indiana Jones: weird sex criminal in the upcoming game?
That carcass joke was top shelf!
The Oscar connection for Challengers is its *writer* is married to 'Past Lives' writer/director Celine Song. Also both movies are about a married woman who ends up in a love triangle when a man from her youth reenters her life...
Welcome back lads. I've missed you.
I do not intend to give these two guys big heads, with fawning praise... but I have to say: I like these two guys... and their podcast.
Welcome back guys, keep up the fantastic content!
Salty comments are always gonna be good for the algorithm so here’s some bait for you boys… ‘get on yer back!’

Fast X is worth it just to see Mamoa chew scenery.
"Here we goooo" and "Ashante" Get me everytime.
I was literally exercising when you read that letter 😂
That red hot comic book movie news isn't defending my earth rn 😔
I read Big Game on Mason's recommendation on a previous episode. I really enjoyed it, except for the ending. Felt like a cop out and was a bit rushed. I was wondering how Mason felt about the ending.
New year: James, decaffeinated and Mason, moistured.
Interesting new intro song, very experimental lyrics and composition
1:58:23 there's something so depressing about people calling Covid "Festive Flu".
We are so fucked.

The boys are BACK baby! and also CANCELLED!!
They don't even care
It's a week. We're on a planet. Guess who's back? Damn it, I love these two clowns!
Honestly the Broden Kelly style comedic voice is one I swear I heard growing up and I adore it.
I would unironically watch this Pride and Prejudice starring a talking Spider from the beginning of time
Spiden Prejudice
How did Mason miss the obvious character name “Spiden Prejudice”?
I’m listening to this at 6:00am because my home alarm system went off
Off to a banger of a start lads
TIL about 'tall poppy syndrome'. That's a pretty poetic name for that.
Glad you guys are back let's goooooooo
Can confirm I'm only seeing Madame Web because I also have a podcast. Not to plug or anything. Great to have you back!
You made me laugh and ive split my lip. Suing
For what it's worth, The Max was definitely aired in Australia, but I think it was maybe SBS in the days you had to mess around with an antenna to get reception... It was messed up, but also pretty great.
47:08 You forgot the movie who’s working title during production was referred to as “Red Harvest” #RedNotice
I saw Wicked in Boston, it was Wicked Awesome
Love this podcast
I think Mason was my-fair-ladying that space spider, not pride-and-prejudicing.
**G'day boys, I'm Indiana Jones. Get on ya back.**
The Maxx aired of SBS in Australia. It was one of those eclectic 10pm shows SBS had back in the day, along with South Park and Evangelion.
im thinking if yoda was drunk he would end up speaking better the more pissed he got until he was speaking perfect shakespeare but legless
You're a genius
What if there was Jurassic World movie where they open a new park, but no one shows up.
Maxx used to be on sbs Saturday nights along with aeon flux
57:19 Space spider ? Is it Project Hail Mary from the Martian poop potatoes guy? Amazing book !
I'm with Maso, The Old Guard was a Netflix movie I thoroughly enjoyed and would very much like more of.
Also, shame the obligatory Star Wars News didn't contain any updates about Andor S2. It's the only Star Wars I care about.
I thought caravan of garbage was a reference to Caravan Of Courage, an Ewok Adventure (it was called blue harvest during shooting)
Wow! I missed this! YAAAAAY!
Love you guys, can't wait for more episodes! pew pew
The boys are back🎉
Good to have you back!
Love the cold opening 😅
Good day boys Im Scar, dont have a scar yet. Gold lads!
The Maxx cartoon was on MTV but it was a late night cartoon
Dude you guys should absolutely watch Zom 100! Its fantastic and it's sad that it probably wont get a second season!
This Uncaffeinated episode is my Monday medicine 💊 😂🎉
Finally they are back!!!!!!!
Five stars!
Good Netflix movies and you don't mention Red Notice???!!!! I have literally not stopped watching it since it came out
They didn't mention it because it sucks.
"G'day boys I'm Indiana Jones' 😂
I missed you guys!!
This, Inside Of You with Michael Rosenbaum, and Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant are my favorite pods
At last!
I need more locusts and bugs in my Dinosaur Movie.
That Ultimates Spider-Man comic literally sounds like the Heroes Reborn plot where Phil Colson erases the Avengers from existence and becomes the president. Might check it out because I enjoyed it thoroughly.
g'day boys
NITRO ZUES MENTIONED!
