How to Make: RAZOR SHARP Knife From a Wrench (Karambit)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 мар 2016
- My second ever attempt at blacksmithing a knife, today I'm making a Karambit out of a 21mm wrench from home depot, using my:
Homemade anvil: • Easy, Cheap DIY Anvil ...
And my homemade forge: • Fold-Away Blacksmith F...
My end product is a little underwhelming, but as long as you use a bigger wrench you should be fine. Special thanks to Chandler Dickinson, whose videos have educated me more than high-school ever did.

Imagine somebody finds this in 150 years and turns it into a wrench
Circle of life
Some imbecile would try to tell somebody that early man made it LOL that they were related to giraffes and that the universe came from a chicken egg
“Hey guys ANZ Productions here to show you how to turn this karambit into a wrench!”
Mission failed successfully.
Well half of it is already one
Your home forge is quite literally a home forge, made from items scrounged around your home. And it works well! That's a sign of ingenuity and "necessity is the mother of invention". Excellent.
It’s hard for me, I’m an apprentice but I don’t have a home forge because coal produces too much smoke for my idiot HOA neigbors, and gas forges aren’t something I want to dive into making of buying right now.
It is called satans toilet
@@jackalnerf6230 charcoal could work, it just burns a bit faster than coal
I am building a forge out of an old sink
I love the "mistake" message. That stuck with me more than knife making process
Why make a wrench into a knife when the wrench is already a glorious weapon
F=ma
When something is going fast enough, anything can be a weapon.
i prefer crowbars
helperbot 2000 Jason Todd will remember that
@@kenzakiart who is that?
The only weapon capable of erectin' a dispenser
Dude, I want to get into making stuff like this so bad!
Same. Instead of forging im using an angle grinder and scrap sheet metal
do it with dan
+Do It With Dan Gonna make a Karambit bayonet attachment for the Eagle?

“Don’t do what I did and you should be fine”
Tbh, i like that. Usually they tell you how not to screw it up. Eli screws up and tells you how to do it(SOMETIMES). Failure is the best teacher
A karambit originates from south-east Asia, and is meant to represent the claw of a tiger. The blade is actually supposed to be even smaller. It is supposed to be just a small claw that is easily concealed yet sharp and long enough to hit the arteries. Everyone is used to the 'Americanized" versions of the karambit, where the blade is a good five inches lol
Epic My thoughts exactly.
Epic exactly
Epic I like this size of his knife. Every Karambit seems WAY to large to me.
Epic karambit is from indonesia
really, that's crandom (cool yet random )
15:04 "dont do what I did"
Me: ok
**makes bow**
Eli that "tiny" blade is actually perfect. most vital points are not more the three fingers deep... any longer of a blade and just end up "snaging" on bone. trust me, the blade is prefect.
.
Yes original karambits were finger length , u could use it to cut tendons and blood vessels with precision . The csgo version is just supersized american style...
Well put Lirian Jerliu, wish I could have put it as articulately.
+Phillip Ellis The handle isn't big enough, obviously
A Smooth Criminal the handle is small, but if it fits his hand and is comfortable then it's kewl. The perfect knife, just like the perfect tool is the one that works, that gets the job done.
What fits my hand perfect, won't likely fit your's as nicely.
Is it factory new?
Well worn
:)
+Pyro Maniac Karambit | Case Hardened (Well-Worn) at 12:00
+Gold Grabs yeah it does look case hardened kind of
+Pyro Maniac lmao i thought that too aswell
As a blacksmith trying to learn how TF to heat treat and temper, I gotta hand it to you, you just did what countless professional people couldn’t and you showed me how to do it!
AND you did it with nothing but stuff I’d already have! No fancy annealing oven NOPE just a toaster oven!
krambit from Malaysia.
celurit from Indonesia.
*peace no war*
well, the tiny karambits are more dangerous than the bigger flashier ones

Building (forging) something cool, with your own hands, is the best feeling in the world.
So a guy walks into a bar and sees a tiny pianist playing a tiny piano. The guy walks up to the bartender and asks about the pianist. The bartender says to the man "There is a genie in the bathroom that will grant you one wish" So the guy goes to the bathroom and sees the genie in the corner. "I will grant you one wish" bellowed the genie. the man says, "Okay, I wish for world peace" The genie says "Okay, I will grant you world geese" So the man goes up to the bartender and says "Your genie is hard of hearing" The bartender says, "No kidding. Do you think I wanted a 12-inch pianist?"
Excellent!!!
an easier way to sand would be to use a small sanding block, it'll make your sanding smoother and quicker, eliminating finger marks because of its flat edge, you can get nice one's cheaply at autobody supply shops!!!
Keep up the good work!!!
Michael Hall
Michael Hall I didn't know that Jesus know how to sand knifes. XD
Holy frick I can’t believe I glossed over this channel like 2 years ago lmao subbed
Finally a diy youtuber with a proper working microphone😂😂😂😂😂😂
That moment you decide that you want to be a blacksmith...
"Mom get me hammers and buckets of lava" lol

Exactly!
Thats the whole reason why i am leaning. getting taught by one of the best smiths in the uk :) if you do it right you will be well respected and well paid
My father is acctualy half-time blacksmith, and i'm thinking about becoming his apprentice :)
youre already black so youre half way there!
"cuts through it like.. like paper"
best one liner ever
I've seen this video countless amount of times and this is the first time I stayed to the end of the video. Worth it.
"Master of Romace"
10/10
Downright great video. As a junior blacksmith, I think that you did a fine job. I appreciate honesty and this video is full of it. Keep the videos going as they are real and honest. Subbed.
Agreed
I agree
I don't know what you're seeing, because I see a properly sized karambit. They aren't really supposed to be hulking; They were designed as a sneak attack weapon for when you get into fist fights.
no they were used in the garden
Sandro mehr and their general combat purpose was sneak attack during fist fights. suh dude.
+Sandro mehr Not the garden. In wheat fields.
and the purpose still Was not fighting
Sandro mehr and then they used them as weapons. Suh dude.
I watched your video months ago and just re watched it again. I am so glad I did because I have that exact thing for my anvil surface. I wasn't sure if it would work and now I am excited to build it a stand and put it to work. (Once I finish my forge.). Thanks for posting this!
most time of the video i spend crying... main reason for that was your sense of humor and the fact you did'nt gave up!in the end thats all that mathers, making stuff and have fun while doing it. great video!
Go back and test husky's lifetime warranty
Excellent!!!
Mine?
yes you silly goose
I must say good job for doing that on your own instead of just buying something
hell yah. props to this kid.
+Povilas Demikis this video was published six months ago I guess this "kid" grew up really fast
+Povilas Demikis I have a son who is 21 so he's still pretty young to me. but thanks for pointing it out to me because I thought he looked like 16 or 17
fuzzy 😉Anything younger than 35 is a "kid" to me! 😃
I agree on that :-D
Good going! You are showing be gainers that they can make things happen! You seem humble and genuine . Thank you
"You're only a failure if you give up"
First off, that is a great second attempt, excellent job. Secondly, that is an excellent size for a concealed carry, self defense type of knife, or just a great all around EDC fixed blade. Don't sell yourself short, well done.
that hammer CLANK, CLANK, CLANK....ugh. the memories of dark souls...Andre still haunts my dreams
Dude I think you did a great job for what your working with. First knife I made was out of 1/4” plate steel. All I had was a grill and a grinder. Took a week and turned out to be a beast. I will sub and continue to watch and pick up some tips
Karambit blades can be mere cm. long because they were originally designed to mask the fact that the user had a weapon. It would surprise the victim to realize they had been cut, when they originally thought they were simply facing a bare fisted opponent. Good job!
Gregory Espo correct I am nearly an expert in cq hand-to-hand karambit fighting and that's one the most overlooked part of karambit history

I want to make stuff like this. I lack power tools. I hate life lol
+Money Man Buy some then. You obviously have a lot of money.
***** haha
+connor blandford that's what I do XD its so much fun I have 8 new scares or I like to say its 8 more story's to tell
+jaden Willey how do you heat it up with 'hand tools'
Owen Bohdan You don't. Make a forge there's some really good videos on youtube showing you how to do so. I would highly recommend them as they're super simple.
You say that the karambit is really small but dude, have you seen the Karambite? Its blade is like a quarter inch long but is absolutely devastating
The best videos are the ones where we say, not too sure or I'm new at this. Excellent vid!!!
leafy's older brother
+Ernesto Cifer what i said after hearing him mock the making of an intro
what?
duuuude i thought the same fucking thing lmao hes got the same wit and humor
Hisssss
Shit im not the only one that thought if that. Omfg
Blacksmithing increased to 10
Level up availible
this was actually my first ever video I've seen by you and I'm glad I stayed :3
Makes a tutorial, says don't do what I do😂 love ya bro
Wholly crap dude, that come really damn good. Ur gunna be the next big thing in custom blades
.....
+Vox Populi i doubt that. but it's awesome nonetheless
Artrysa Ud be surprised what people can get done if they so choose. Hes young kid, and this project is night n day better than the last one so....obviously this is a talent
Vox Populi i don't believe in talent. i think if i would get the stuff i needed and practised smithing i could make that kind of stuff too. and so could you.
+Artrysa exactly
Can you smith rune? Also are you a high enough lvl to make a dragon longsword?
+Joey Milani Greatsword*
Can probably smith dfs
RakeD EsterL fat
+Joey Milani havent played runescape for 5 years. how is it now?
correction are you a rich Ass kid to pay memberahip? real men get 99lvl in non member account
There's no reason to apologize for being an artist. Great looking project.
That was actually a good video. I have been looking for DIY blacksmith videos and this one was more informative than I expected. Thanks...
the size is not that bad, as long as it's big enough that you can't cut yourself by taking it my the handle
*by
dude... wear gloves when using that belt sander. You'll thank me one day
I've used gloves before, but you should NEVER use gloves with rotary tools at all, it's very dangerous.
In general I agree with you but a belt sander is a big exception to that rule.
h snow it grabs into your glove and pulls it into the belt sander
No it doesn't. I've worked with a belt sander for the last 10 odd years. The danger lies with having gloves that are too loose or improperly worn - something like tight fitting mechanix gloves work great. There is certain equipment where what you are saying is absolutely true, but a belt sander is not one of them.
Both of you are right,as a machinist,we don't wear gloves at all working on lathes and miling,if your gloves grip in the chuck or a rotary tool it's over for you.For the belt sander,if you wear gloves, make sure that they are fit to your hand with no loose end at the end of your fingers or wear nitryl gloves, looks like rubber but it's more dry so if it jams in a betl sander the glove will just torn up,if you have cloth gloves forget it,it's gonna grab and push your hand in it.
young man , you demonstrate what it takes to be an outdoors do anything man--i am proud of you--keep up the inventiveness and the i can do it mentality--this is what made america what it is and also what it could be if more were like you semper fi
Most interesting and informative video, from a very honest and obviously talented Guy
A Pleasure!
That DIY furnace 👌
True karambits are actually that small though, they are meant to be unnoticeable so your opponents don't know you have a weapon. So you nailed it man.
+TheCompute101 was gonna say the same thing, although they are smaller than that still
it was originally for harvesting
+Cole Ledeboer and then for slicing tendons, veins, and arteries XD
my karambit is way bigger than that
not sure if trolling or genuinely concerned
good job man.
I respect ur. honesty
7:40 - 7:44 Bro, I cannot stop thanking you, I always wanted to be a samurai and make katanas, I am starting to learn how to forge knives to make one to my daughters and other loved ones, but after many cuts, bruises and little burns I was angry thinking I suck in comparison to my "teacher" I wanted to throw my tools and hide my tears from my youngest daughter but after I heard that I hugged her and promised to create something great for her and her sister thanks to those magic words, from now on you have my appreciation and respect !
Most knifemakers seem to forget that actual Indonesian karambits are really small. The whole point of this design is to bea able to hide the blade so when your opponent think you are attacking him with your fist, you are actually striking with the blade. Most modern examples I see today are very large. Your karambit is actually much closer to native design.
+rasnac I was thinking the same thing.
That's just what I was going to say
Actually traditional karambit blades are only around 3 inches the most kinda u see are actually overly wide a karambit isnt meant to be seen ur blade is wat it should be and great work
I agree! Smaller is better when Karambits are involved.
Yeah, smaller is definitely better on karambits.
Don't doubt the lethality of a small, sharp blade. That thing is a beauty and you should be proud.
this guy is hilarious and informative. man i cant believe im only discovering him now
A blacksmith with dank memes dude you have my sub 😂
+precisioninstruments boiii I'll tell you somethin there's no better meme than "caca"
+precisioninstruments its dank maymay kid get I right
how did i get from call of duty 3 intel locations to this!?
Showing you how to make real life weapon indicate you light have to apply call of duty to reality
Call of duty = video games, Karambit knife = video games (CS:GO). One similar subject video leads to another and another
Clicking.
I was looking for headphones
Martin Anthonyo khhgjfb
Mate thats the perfect size karambit ☺
Dude you have some mad skills
I think it was funny how you made a tool out of a other tool
Yeah, I was thinking that too.😀
Souped Comics another tool*
People like you spam mghee are the reason the world is what it is today
Souped Comics i made a knife with a file

Dude its not the size of the karambit but the Magic it performs !! lol !! great vid !
Definitely one to try here at my workshop in England. Thanks for the video! Toby
That looks quite useful. Thanx 4 stirring my inner tool maker. I'm gonna make some small knives out of other mostly broken yet still less small knives.
See what happens when kids put down the video game controller for a minute.
Magic happens ! Good job kid.
yq...they make weapons they used in the video games.
A top class video, Nice to see 4K quality. Oh.... you're a pretty good blacksmith as well. Thank you.
+David Croft Like your monitor can handle it ....lol nope.
+Michel Linschoten you think noone has a 4k monitor? did you ever stop to think some poeple do have good jobs and have money to buy good monitors? or we might be watching them on a good tv? what a moron one can be
I was not even talking about AFFORDING, it's simply knowing your shit. Which you obviously don't. There is pretty much no SOURCE material that is 4k as of yet. A 4k monitor or even tv is not even that expensive, simply because there it little to no source material that supports 4k.
So ya you're indeed a moron, for totally assuming that i was talking about the ability to buy one.
there are many video clips on youtube you can watch in 4k if you opened your eyes you would see that
WTF you on some kind of drug we dont know about cos only you seem to find what ever you just said funny and i dont see me being a little bitch when im 6ft 9 tall do you?
"You got yourself a nice little tool made out of a... a different tool" Your videos are informative and hilarious! 😂
0:33 there is nothing more satisfying than hearing a knife cut paper
Mate thumbs up for being honest! As you said It's all too easy to come up with excuses on the cutting room floor. I don't think you needed to though. That is a tidy little Claw Karambit. I'm a bit over the perfect, factory looking tools. Custom making your own gear can't be beat!
the karambit is in correct size. karambit suppose to be hidden/small weapon.
Dude, you are modest and you have a good sense of humor, plus your way to work is easy to follow and entertaining, you got a new subscriber.
You just made something I have never made in my life. Nice work sir.
I will try and make this ... tomorrow
+William Abrams yesterday?
Good job man, craftsman are rare keep it up!!
Good job, man! I mean it and I give you bonus points for wearing the right safety gear, all you need are gloves.
love the shout out to Chandler haha
lol cuts tru it like... paper :)
English?
yup...cut paper just like its....paper lol
+jonas christensen :-D:-D:-D :-DSay "what" one more time!
+ctll626 a blade has to be razer sharp to cut paper like that.
+RCG (RC_Gamer) no kidding.
dude, the karambits in cs go are 400 % bigger than real karambits. real karambits arent supposed to be seen. its supposed to be like. oh im in a hand to hand combat situation with someone. (gets punched) oh shit dude. now i have a cut on my face. that dude must have a small karambit
someone finally spoke it!!
i agree with u
Oh look a csgo keyboard warrior holy shoit we got a badass over here
+Anbu8366 he's not a keyboard warrior, he's just stating the truth
Actually they are supposed to be used to cut off tendons, not slice someone's face :P
They are knifes for crippling people, not cutting them down
+mk Heinzen But with the Sumatran 5 Strike technique, one would be able to kill another.
Love your honesty!! Thanks for the awesome video and tutorial!!
dude, second time blacksmithing and got you 97k likes at this time. great job man.
tip for all cheapos such as my self . dont buy ur wrench at home depo go to a flea market or a used tool places much cheaper
Yeah I bought ten perfect kunai knvies at flea market
tristy-popstheman why.
Alboss because whats the point in buying a nice expensive wrench to destroy when you can get a nice cheep wrench
Checking out scrapyards is also a good idea. Just bought a wrench for less than $0,30.

Yeahhh
If it looks stupid but works, it aint stupid
+Christoffer Blaabjerg hahaha

That was a good job man. I'm impressed.
Perfect Kerambit knife!
10:31 "Like a Bear Claw or a Tiger Claw or something..." Little known fact: Karambit originating from Indonesia. Was meant to be small and like a tiger claw because the enemy wouldn't be able to see the blade if he was quickly swiping.
there are bigger karambits like lawi ayam or lawi helang... but most silat fighters prefer the kuku macan(tiger claw)
Dj Martino Very true.
Hamer your blade only when it's red hot. And try to apply same amount of pressure when you hammer if you want a well balanced blade.
that's good advice, thanks for the information. More than anything I enjoy metal working , so that information will come in handy maybe for some other project.
My new favorite channel -- thank you
Humble beginnings 😌
Is the video saying "playback error" or is it just me?

karambits are supposed to be that small. weapons are meant to be felt, not seen.
Nah the csgo fanboys getting mad cos it's not the size of a baseball bat
+Taylor Ossyman Good point
+Taylor Ossyman So true lol
