2012 Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVT-i (69Hp) Top Speed on the Autobahn / POV Test Drive

Like expected, the Toyota Yaris it's made to be a city car, not a great choice for the Autobahn. A very shaky and loud drive, a lot of noises coming from a lot of different places. Although for a 51Hp naturally aspirated engine, 160kmh is kind of a good speed, when you have the necessary time to reach it!

Because in small engines like these even something as small as an AC does effect the performance
otherwise it seems like a fine car honestly i'd buy it but we dont have a yaris 1.0 where im from

The AC was turned off and yes you are right, it does affect the performance a lot. Overall it s a great city car, it s small and the fuel consumption is also really low.

Pretty impressive for a little 1.0 engine. I've done over 185km/h on my 94hp 1.3 dual vvt-i 😂.

I managed to reach 181 km/h the other day in my 1.3 Petrol 2006 Yaris 😂 which isn’t dual vvt-i btw that was introduced after 2010-2011 if im not mistaken

I have the 2013 Yaris hybrid with the 1.5 liter 4 cylinder and with the CVT gearbox. Pulls much easier than the non hybrid and top speed at 180km/h. But it’s also really noisy at high speed! Good car otherwise!

and the engine is not noisy, the vvti enigne is one of best reliable engine goes well with 1.8

Its fuckin noisy but due to almost zero noise reduction materials noise from wheels, mirrors etc will be louder than the engine. Its very loud on the highway

you dont drive that small engine so hard(160km/h) for long time, i drive my yaris around 120kmh on highway and its good enought for long trips, also cheap on gas. Only problem is when going too much uphill, it looses power quite abitbecasue of 1.0 engine

@@owalida9972 I did not see in the video but on peugot 207 for example you can't remove your hand of the wheel or it will return to center super fast then go to the opposite direction

No, at this early model there was none, i think only the facelift had one.

i just found out when you the change gear you have to feel it with clutch and acceleration, that car will make you a better driver since you have feel the rev to change gears

Well chassis is shit made for cizy driving not highway and that motor is running over 5000rpms to get on 150km/h
