TGS Anime My favorite is fusion because fusion master race. Also I love how you used a bunch of Normal monsters basically saying I have no use for these so let's make one
mvpxtomahawkzz They actually changed that rule in Arc-V, they mentioned that Gongenzaka (I think) had to set one of his monsters because you can't summon in face-up defence mode.
Well, Its the anime. In the anime, you can use "Dark Magic Curtain" to summon a Dark Magician, but your opponent can also summon if they have, and your opponent can also summon Dark Magician Girl if possible. In RL however, only you get this effect; but you can only summon Dark Magician, nothing else than Dark Magician.
Now, from all the added forms of summoning: Synchros, I can get behind. Pretty simple really, you just do the same as an on-field ritual summon but the ritual is instead a Tuner-typed monster you control and you don´t need the synchro-monster to be drawn since it´s extra-deck. Xyz, alright. It´s basically just another idea of the same concept rituals and synchros follow, with more focus on monster-level, like rituals. Also, once again it´s extra-deck, so no searching for Xyz-monsters required. Pendulum. Pendulum seems so over-complicated and convoluted in a way that makes normal players never wanna use them. I heard someone say "I tried a pendulum-deck once in the OCG, and it just went and played itself. My friend was asking what I did, and I only answered I don´t know." This summons (heh, summon) up perfectly what Pendulums are all about. Confusing your opponent to a point where he doesn´t know when to activate a possible counter, OR, if he knows about them, just spamming multiple monsters and doing stupidly long card-combos with effects that most of the time result in an OTK.
I lost 7 duels to Pendulum decks before I understood them and half believed people were just screwing with my head. Then I realized the whole thing could not only be stopped by anything that negates special summons, but even Mystical Space Typhoon would just put a kibosh to it since they'd have to reset their scales. I also realzied 3 of those duels I lost I could have easily stopped things. So once I got it, I begrudgingly accepted this. Ironically, I think I would have got it if I was caught up to the anime at that time. I'm not a huge fan of some of the more powerful XYZ monsters, but this is less due to the mechanic and more the fact that I feel like they are giving away too many non destruction removals like candy when it should be harder to get into. I'd be equally upset if they put effects of some of the more busted XYZ monsters on a main deck monster that can be special summoned from the graveyard. Now what I really hate are link summons. This isn't because they are too complicated. This is because the materials are too generic. Some of them are ridiculous things are "two effect monsters." All these link summons being too easy has many implications. One, you don't need to carefully manage levels of monsters you summon like you do with Synchros. Two, targeting cards that cause a negative effect on your opponent's monsters are neutralized just by using them as materials and unlike a tribute summon, this can be done more than once per turn, unlike a ritual summon this doesn't need a card in the hand to help, and unlike a Synchro summon, you don't need a type of monster (tuner) to help with that. Three, splashing monsters outside of archetype is way easier. Three, defense position mechanics don't work. Like I wish they just said any link monster in defense position is destroyed by game mechanic instead of just not allowing them to change. And don't get me started on link monsters which can be summoned by tokens. I don't mind the Sky Strikers since their materials are archetype specific. I understand the need to summon link monsters for those arrows, but I think link monster with good on field effects should be harder to summon requiring something like "Archetype Specific Card + Type (Say Spellcaster, Dragon, Machine, whatever)" or if they want it generic "Three of type" and not "two effect monsters."
Apart from regular conditionnal Special Summons, Synchro summon has always felt like the best designed summon to me. It came out at a time where lower-lvl monsters had few reasons to be played (if not « this guy is a whatever-tribe, so you need to run this to do whatever with the other whatever-tribe guys in your deck »), does make sense in term of board and ressources (you’re not dumping your whole hand into a ridiculously broken guy, but rather piling up your smaller guys into something that challenges the board), and incentivizes decision-making and complex lines of play (since you usually have different versatile Synchro monsters at each level and can pull off nice lines of play if you can recur your smaller guys). So well designed that it actually worked pretty immediatly without Konami having to release absurd support or cheat-into-play cards like with Ritual and Fusion. Xyz seems fine, though I’m less excited about « how do I get 2 5-stars on the board ? » than « how do I manage to assemble a 8-star guy with my 3-stars guy and my 2-stars tuner in hand ? » Pendulum just seems dumb. I imagine the pendulum-based decks are more intelligent than they seem and build a board or various monsters with synergestic effects rather than a bunch of mid-sized hitters, but still : either your game is 80% based on your opening hand, or they’re continuously releasing broken tribe-based tutoring effects to carry such a level of hand-dumping. It also seems pretty clear that Konami’s original game design has been thrown away long ago considering how normal and tribute summon seem like a joke today.
Jotaro summon: Once per duel if your LP are lower than your opponent, you can summon your bare hands in attack mode. If you do that, you can do the ORAORAORAORAORAORA in the face of your opponent, take his/her cards and automatically win the duel.
Spell Card - Rage of the Joestar's. If you have "Star Platinum" or "The World" on your field: You can target 1 "Star Platinum" or 1 "The World" from your deck or graveyard, then target 1 "Star Platinum" or 1 "The World" in your field; you can tribute them, then Special Summon 1 "Star Platinum: The World" from your Extra Deck (This also counts as Fusion Summon)
Star Platinum: The World - Spirit/Effect/Fusion "Star Platinum" + "The World" Must be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Materials and cannot be special summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during either players turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect: Negate the Activation, and if you do, destroy it. When this card attacks, you can Stop Time, and attack all monsters your opponent controls. If this face up card were to leave the field by battle or card effect: Stop Time, evade thr effect. If this card leaves the field by battle or card effect: Special Summon 1 "Star Platinum" and 1 "The Wolrd" from your hand, deck or Graveyard, ignoring their summoning conditions. ATK/4500 DEF/4500

Ah, the memories... I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid and I stopped when the synchro monsters came out. Sometimes I regret having spent so much money on it and I think about selling my old cards, but then I remember all the fun I had and how much I cherished them, so I'm keeping them as a memento of the good ol' days.
I am actually a 12 year old boy with ADHD and I love yugioh. Before watching this my only experience with rules was from season 1 and half of season 2. Then I watched a couple of gameplays and found all about these new methods, originally I wanted to read the rules of the website but with my ADHD I knew I couldn’t pay attention. So I looked up on RUclips how to do these things and found this. I thought the title sounded funny so I clicked on the vid and found it to be more helpful than I first thought it would be! Thank you so very much for your help! May the heart of the cards be with you!
Pendulum summoning seems broken AF. When I used to play years ago they just left the game at fusion and ritual summoning. Seemed simple enough to follow and pick up of you were watching or new to the game. I'm a more of a minimalist. I think the game should try to stick more to its roots and fundamental mechanics. You start adding all these extra mechanics and it just starts to make the game messy in my opinion. You know it's getting to that point when they have to keep altering the playing board/mat to accommodate new things.
Slow and predictable? LOL slow, maybe, but it was fun to play, and predictable only if you were playing with 5 year olds, nowadays it seems more predictable and less fun, like "Oooh this guy just throw a bunch of special summons, well, this is over, gg" wich makes it even more predictable as you are pretty much forced to do that kind of stuff to remain competitive and also makes it less fun as is just a matter of "who will engage in the summoning loop before the other wins" mechanic.
I can still remember how my first duel looks like (with a bro): Bro: You got two level 4 monsters in your field. I lend you a xyz monster so try xyz? I : I overlay those two mosters to summon No.39 Utopia... Bro : Nice try. Bottomless trap hole.
Jeez. They made YuGiOh way too over complicated for the casual players. Maybe that's why duel links is popular right now. It was smart of them to go back to a more simple YuGiOh.
pendulum is the only complicated one, synchro is just fusion and ritual put together and XYZ is just summoning with monsters that have the same level not that fucking complicated learn to adapt.
Good vid, but you should've mentioned a few more things: Ritual and fusion summons can use face down monsters on the field, while synchro and XYZ can't. Some ritual\fusion cards allow you to use cards from the graveyard. Also, you can set as many pendulum scales as you want, as long as you have the cards and can clear the pendulum zones to place new cards there.
Obviously I’m here cause Iv been away for a long time and man I’ve tried so hard to understand a lot of this but I just couldn’t get it. Clicked your video hopelessly saying “this might help” and 8 minutes later I feel like I know more now than ever thanks man
Me: Yeah I love my rituals and fusions! Oh ok synchro summoning I'll try to learn Omg synchros are overpowered enough xyz better be the last style of summoning Pendulum summoning(stops playing yugioh) Link summoning how am I still alive??
Agreed. A lot of synchro are o.p. and can result in a one turn k.o. that's why I stick to my own deck and shun those who use the same old b.s. everyone else uses.
As a seasoned yugi boomer who stopped before xyz, synchro, pendulum and link summons I appreciate this. Still putting in work on master duel with my traditional gameplay. Ps the black luster soldier is truly the icon ritual summon.
Love these videos! Some friends and I are just getting back into yugioh and stumbled upon this video after one (very unsuccessful and confusion-filled) duel on our own. We now know that many many mistakes were made and more practice is needed, lol. Great job on the video!
the cyber dragon deck was probably my favorite of the GX era due to how you could get powerful cards out easily and that it had the potential to destroy your opponent in a single turn.
As for pendulum summon: the best scale is 0-13 (meaning you can summon any monster that can be special summoned with this method), the worst scale is matching numbers or one scale is +1 of the other (example: 1-1 or 2-3 will not let you summon any monster)
You didn't mention that Pendulum Monsters are played the same way as any regular/effect monster in the Monster Card zone and therefore still fall under the same summoning requirements to summon stronger monsters as the others and that in the Pendulum Zone, that monster's spell effect is activated and it's the only way to activate said effect, rather then play the monster in the spell/trap card zone as per normal.
It's true that he didn't mention those two aspects of pendulum monsters, however the point of the video was to explain the basic types of summoning, not basic types of cards in general.
@@David315842 yes, pendulums are part of the game, but the topic of the videos is a basic explanation of how various types of summoning work, not to explain every aspect of every type of card related to summoning. I'm sure if this video was a guide to every type of card, he would've explained how pendulum monsters work. This is also an "idiot's guide" so it was only meant to be a basic explanation of summoning types. You're expecting more of this video than it was intended to be.
@@seandobbins2231Not really, it wouldn't have taken that much time to explain the mechanics and regardless of what you think at least 16 other people agree with me. So that's that really. In our opinion, the video could have done more to explain things.
You guys are honestly idiots then. The golden age of yugioh was the early Edison format up until Ravine Rulers and any objective player from your time who stuck around would agree that was when the game was at its best
xxxtensioncord the game progressively got worse with Links and Pendulums. Xyz was a neutral thing. But Synchros actually made the game good and quite frankly anyone who thinks they're cool for not liking them is dumb af
Yugi: * plays Dark Magician * Joey: “Don’t you need to tribute monsters to summon that card?” Yugi: “Quiet Joey, we haven’t reached that season of the series yet!” Also I don’t know why I’m watching this video. I already know about every summoning type.
Thank god man. Last time i played Yu-Gi-Oh the only existing special summons were ritual and fusion xD Wanted to kill some time with tag force and i was like "wtf is going on? HELP!" Thx for the explanation 👍
You mean the game where anything with a level lower than 4 was usually shit, and it was all about getting the biggest and baddest monster out first? I believe that’s some nostalgia on your eyes, it’s good in a reasonable amount, but not that much
No monster requires three monsters for a tribute summon unless specified otherwise. Ex: The Winged Dragon of Ra requires three monsters for a tribute summon but Subterror Behemoth Ultramafus doesn't.
monsters attached to xyz monsters are called xyz materials, also you cannot pendulum summon xyz monsters unless a card say you can because they have ranks but pendulums deals with levels
Dude, I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh beginner, and a well-timed pendulum summon just...yeets every big monster you have onto the field, and watching your opponent die inside as you seal your victory. Love it.
Hahahahaha I needed this thought it was cool in 00-01 when it came out but never had the opportunity to actually get into it, now the last month I’m reliving my childhood
@Enrique Isaacs i just said it was fairly easy to understand lmao dont get butthurt. Can you just look at pendulum and link and immediately understand whats going on? Of course you need some time learning it and shit. I just said that up until xyz the summonic mechanic was fairly basic.
Well this actually helped me thanks dude! Although this brings up a good point whenever I hear the word XYZ summon everyone calls it exceeds summon despite the summoning. Summoning monsters is weird but not a bad little guide and it definitely helps.
Exceed summon is the 'official' way it is said. Only the older players really know this though, as konami never really pushed the pronunciation of it. Newer players tend to pick up on the jargon used by the older players and use it without knowing where it came from, though.
That was only in the anime, toon kingdom is a card that kinda mimics that protection effect but toons are very weak, if you pop toon world they are done.
The classical music in these videos is precisely perfect Edit: I like the machine comparison, but because it's a "tuner" I like to think of it musically. The tuner represents the tuning, composition, and structure of the song(the song being the synchro itself) and the other monsters represent the instruments required to play it. Another way I like to look at it is that Synchro is basically updated ritual monsters because it requires one other special card, and Xyz is like updated fusion monsters that don't make you wait on polymerization. I think we can all agree that's what Konami was thinking when they made them.
your video helped me so much to understand xyz summons and pendulum summons, thank you so much!!,hope you make a video of the types of summons like accel summons and such :)
Everything that's from yugioh zexel and beyond is trash and boring, it's all about the old school and I guess I'll let the synchro monsters slide, but nice video
Aura dragon1 That's anime only, regular Zarc is summoned through Fusion. With Anime Zarc it's literally Fusion with Astrograph's effect and he counts as every card type besides spell and trap.
Aura dragon1 You do realise that when it's words on a screen you can't really convey the fact of it being a joke without some obvious word like 'amirite' or something like that, right?
For those not familiar with pendulums, something not mentioned in this video is the fact that a trap card like bottomless trap hole can banish multiple pendulum summoned monsters since they're summoned at the same time. For a time, I didn't know this and I regret not knowing it.
"This card's NORMAL summon cannot be negated" Says nothing about him being pendulum summon so the meta is Solemn works vs the pendulum summoning AS A WHOLE, so it bangs all the monster being summoned. Another strategy is to destroy the enemy pendulum as soon as he declares pendulum summons a monster.
I seriously wish I knew about you before I got into Yugioh. My first experience was with duel links, I learned just about everything I know now a days through that game... But sitll, synchros and links for example were confusing to me.. Duel links don't even have Links and pendulums so, it was always kinda foreign to me, I understand and utilize them now, but man, knowing this video existed 3 years ago would've helped me so much lmao
Contact fusion is my favorite summoning cause in all honest.....It was the forefather of Synchro which I also like. Also bring your friend/bud/mate in again. He has a very photogenic face......
It's overall pretty simple. You just need to read the cards and be able to atleast count to 12. Got back into the game this year and after like a week on MD was ready to seriously play again. Mostly play heroes, traptrix and meme decks like a creature swap/remove brainwashing kaiju troll decks.
I played yu gi oh back when a normal monster wasn't useless and card attack and defence stats mattered. Then I saw that they didn't and dropped it.this vid helped me understand how to fight back if I ever got back into the game.
The special summoning methods are piss easy. Ritual? One Ritual monster, one Ritual spell, and tributes. Fusion? Two (or more) monsters, and a Fusion spell. Sometimes you don't even need spells. Synchro? Needs one monster and one "tuner", then add their levels. XYZ? Two monsters (or more, depends) with the same level. Pendulum? Special summon any monsters from the hand and/or Extra Deck with levels in-between the "scales" numbers. Cards from the hand go to the usual monster zones, cards from the Extra deck go to the Extra monster zone. Links? Have monsters on the field equal to its Link Rating, with stats according to the requirements.
Genius video! Even more people need to see this! I love the production value here.
Thanks :D

Beriorn the heck is phantom syncro, cross XYZ, overscale pendulum and integration summoning
Let's do these as well then.

- Transcendent Pendulum Summon is a Pendulum Summon where the sum of the two Pendulum Scales exceeds the Transcendent monster's level, the opposite of Overscale.
- Integration Summon is a type of Summon that lets you Special Summon a monster from your Extra Deck that can be summoned in no other way.
- Dimension Summon is used in a special Dimension Duel (name not official) where you deplete your Spirit gague to summon a monster for free, but powering up a monster summoned this way requires extra investment from your Spirit gauge and if a monster summoned this way is destroyed this way, instead of taking regular battle damage you take damage equal to the destroyed monster's ATK/DEF (depending on its position at the time).

When this is uploaded half a week before a new summoning method is announced...

Pendulum just seems dumb.

Once per duel if your LP are lower than your opponent, you can summon your bare hands in attack mode. If you do that, you can do the ORAORAORAORAORAORA in the face of your opponent, take his/her cards and automatically win the duel.

"Star Platinum" + "The World"

+Cross Dement they should ban all the new cards and shit it Should have stayed the same as it was in 2005
Dark One So boring as shit then
+Google are you fucking kidding me why would you let me pick such a retarded username not really
Dark One The game was slow and predictable in 2005. I'd say it took until about 2007 for the game to be developed and varied enough to be fun to play.
You offered the hero Jerry Beans Man you monster.
Chilling Neko
jerry beans man saved me so many times in a duel. I always have one in my deck
I can still remember how my first duel looks like (with a bro):
Bro: You got two level 4 monsters in your field. I lend you a xyz monster so try xyz?
I : I overlay those two mosters to summon No.39 Utopia...
Bro : Nice try. Bottomless trap hole.
Son of a gun.
The only one I still dont understand are pendulum summons but other than that you explained everything very well!
Thanks
I just got back into duel links and this is a great vid to help with the new special summons.
Jeez. They made YuGiOh way too over complicated for the casual players. Maybe that's why duel links is popular right now. It was smart of them to go back to a more simple YuGiOh.
The enemy honestly it is easy to understand the special summon methods
I stopped playing Duel Links when they introduced 5Ds
pendulum is the only complicated one, synchro is just fusion and ritual put together and XYZ is just summoning with monsters that have the same level not that fucking complicated learn to adapt.
@@pforgottonsoul I know right?
Are'nt casual players the same type of people that would make decks like odd eyes with machinas?
Good vid, but you should've mentioned a few more things:
Ritual and fusion summons can use face down monsters on the field, while synchro and XYZ can't.
Some ritual\fusion cards allow you to use cards from the graveyard.
Also, you can set as many pendulum scales as you want, as long as you have the cards and can clear the pendulum zones to place new cards there.
Thank you that intro was me. I have been out of the loop for 15 years.
How is it that Pendulum summoning can be so easily explained [even though it confused me at first] by Link summoning still gives me a headache?
Obviously I’m here cause Iv been away for a long time and man I’ve tried so hard to understand a lot of this but I just couldn’t get it. Clicked your video hopelessly saying “this might help” and 8 minutes later I feel like I know more now than ever thanks man

Pendulum summoning(stops playing yugioh)
Link summoning how am I still alive??

Loved the video! i noticed for some reason everytime i think of Cyber Dragon i think of your channel now XD
DizzyIplays happy to hear that :D
DizzyIplays Well Zane is his bae and he loves the Cyber Dragons.
the cyber dragon deck was probably my favorite of the GX era due to how you could get powerful cards out easily and that it had the potential to destroy your opponent in a single turn.
Im almost 30 and grew up with this game but havent played in years and suddenly found the new one on the switch and im daft. This was needed thank you
Basically: Synchro monsters are a mix of fusion monsters (where they need materials (sometimes specific)) and ritual (level requirement)
As for pendulum summon: the best scale is 0-13 (meaning you can summon any monster that can be special summoned with this method), the worst scale is matching numbers or one scale is +1 of the other (example: 1-1 or 2-3 will not let you summon any monster)
Thanks I've been trying to figure out normal summoning for the longest time!
Pendulum~ more like " Screw the rules! I have green hair!"
Yuya didn't screw the rules, he made the rules.
Yuya thing or Toei Kaiba?
I’ve been using Legacy of the Duelist to learn the new summons past synchros. This video was fun and helpful
that ending cracked me up XD

Pendulum summon: *Instructions unclear, got sent to the Shadow Realm*
You didn't mention that Pendulum Monsters are played the same way as any regular/effect monster in the Monster Card zone and therefore still fall under the same summoning requirements to summon stronger monsters as the others and that in the Pendulum Zone, that monster's spell effect is activated and it's the only way to activate said effect, rather then play the monster in the spell/trap card zone as per normal.
It's true that he didn't mention those two aspects of pendulum monsters, however the point of the video was to explain the basic types of summoning, not basic types of cards in general.
That was where I got lost, again. Haha. Also… Link Monsters. Wtf?
@@seandobbins2231 This video is indeed about summoning and like it or not Pendulums are part of the game and should be explained as such.

Synchros are actually pretty easy and not all all at bad.

thank you for making this video. i’m trying to get back into yugioh and this really helped me get caught up to speed!
I wonder if there will be a new mechanic with the next Yugioh show?
GaiaNex V2 Every show introduced some new mechanic. So probably yes
GaiaNex V2 if it does then the questions is how it works, and if will be easy to abuse.
GaiaNex V2 maybe it will be like the new movie and they'll have "dimension summon"
JONESalpha 716 Dimension Summoning can't be used in the real game though, so it's likely going to be a movie-only gimmick.
And he's going to make an update of this video sooner with the introduction of the new summoning method
Great video, very needed and useful! That said, if Yugioh keeps making summoning and gameplay more and more complicated the game is going to die. :(
Yugi: * plays Dark Magician *
Joey: “Don’t you need to tribute monsters to summon that card?”
Yugi: “Quiet Joey, we haven’t reached that season of the series yet!”
Also I don’t know why I’m watching this video.
I already know about every summoning type.
Thank god man.
Last time i played Yu-Gi-Oh the only existing special summons were ritual and fusion xD

Thx for the explanation 👍
why did they ruin our perfect game
Lewis Henderson I hate links too tbh
Came back after 6/7 years and me and my friend "banned" everything past XYZ...
Wise choice flu wise choice
Wise choice indeed,
Synchro and Xyz are at least understandable,
just another way to summon combination-monsters like Fusion or Rituals.
You mean the game where anything with a level lower than 4 was usually shit, and it was all about getting the biggest and baddest monster out first?
I believe that’s some nostalgia on your eyes, it’s good in a reasonable amount, but not that much
Oh! Now I understand XYZ summons, thanks!
You lost me at pendulum.
He uses all the summoning methods, he is too dangerous to be kept alive
i thought a level 12 monster needed 3 sacrifices
Usually level 12's have specific requirements written on the card. God cards (Slifer, Obelisk and Ra) need 3 tributes.
god cards are all level 10, except horactie
No monster requires three monsters for a tribute summon unless specified otherwise. Ex: The Winged Dragon of Ra requires three monsters for a tribute summon but Subterror Behemoth Ultramafus doesn't.
that's only in the manga
Nuno TORRES i always thought the same lol
Got a new subscriber in 5 seconds. Just the video I was looking for, even though I didn't know I needed it. Thanks!

monsters attached to xyz monsters are called xyz materials, also you cannot pendulum summon xyz monsters unless a card say you can because they have ranks but pendulums deals with levels
I abandoned after GX
Then came back and I guess Synchro's aren't hat bad however. I'm not using anything beyond that.
xyz can have fun effects.
I think synchro's are crap. Fusions and Rituals are all that you need
How do you play synchros with the new rulings? I mean if you dont use link monsters you cant control more than 1 synchro monster.
Then you would like Duel Links
@@mustaineforpresident not really
Dude, I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh beginner, and a well-timed pendulum summon just...yeets every big monster you have onto the field, and watching your opponent die inside as you seal your victory. Love it.
In Magic, we just tap lands according to a card’s mana cost...
Hahahahaha I needed this thought it was cool in 00-01 when it came out but never had the opportunity to actually get into it, now the last month I’m reliving my childhood
There is way too much crap in YuGiOh now.
There's not that much stuff in the game
Well now the entirety of the game got fucked by link summoning
Up until xyz it was fairly easy to understand
@Enrique Isaacs i just said it was fairly easy to understand lmao dont get butthurt. Can you just look at pendulum and link and immediately understand whats going on? Of course you need some time learning it and shit. I just said that up until xyz the summonic mechanic was fairly basic.
@Enrique Isaacs I don't like the fact that I have to use link summoning to actually play the gamr
for someone who barely remembers the original summoning from the early 2000s....this is helpful.
No link summon?
idonotmakevidsyet this came out before the link monster
bruh, note the time that that comment was made
idonotmakevidsyet link summons need specific monsters or some links (decode stalker) needs just effect monsters
idonotmakevidsyet There's a separate video for that
Well this actually helped me thanks dude!
Millidith Oh ok. Typical Konami always not explaining much it makes more sense to say exceed rather than XYZ summon sounds weird.
no one remembers Toon monsters. how sad :)
Toons are one of my favorite archetypes. :P
Emmanuel Opoku-Ware Do you actually know what they do in the real game?
Emmanuel Opoku-Ware that only happens in the anime. You can still destroy them in the game. It's just not easy.
They are easy to counter, use drowning mirror force.
That was only in the anime, toon kingdom is a card that kinda mimics that protection effect but toons are very weak, if you pop toon world they are done.
I love how you treat vanilla monsters with care :D
you forget rank down xyz monsters
The classical music in these videos is precisely perfect
Edit: I like the machine comparison, but because it's a "tuner" I like to think of it musically.
"here's a nice easy example of a special summon"

Chicken Fries ritual monsters are useless yet xyz monsters have really good effects
Kaysea Suzana but most are limited because of overlay units
I... Already felt special and smart when i summoned blue eyes white dragon, this is too complicated 😭
you didn't go over integration summon though
Aura dragon1 That's anime only, regular Zarc is summoned through Fusion. With Anime Zarc it's literally Fusion with Astrograph's effect and he counts as every card type besides spell and trap.
ShadicRothZz1998.....it was a joke
ShadicRothZz1998 AHAH FOOL he's pendulum too so he kinda misses trap only..sort of ...ish
For a time, I didn't know this and I regret not knowing it.
pendulum 2-8 (lvl3-7) 3 monsters minimum, tribute and bring out Obelisk, win the game. easy
Unholy Exo use solemn and obelisk is dead.
Chardog why would you summon him?
"This card's NORMAL summon cannot be negated"
Says nothing about him being pendulum summon so the meta is Solemn works vs the pendulum summoning AS A WHOLE, so it bangs all the monster being summoned. Another strategy is to destroy the enemy pendulum as soon as he declares pendulum summons a monster.
Sent this to my brother who recently got back into yugioh so thanks I’m now going to have to look for your link summoning video

Amazing I learned a lot about the different types of summoning in yugioh.
Thanks for showing me how the cards work I only watched the first original yu gi oh and not the others so all these new cards are pretty new to me
Thank you for this masterpiece of explanation.
I played yu gi oh back when a normal monster wasn't useless and card attack and defence stats mattered. Then I saw that they didn't and dropped it.this vid helped me understand how to fight back if I ever got back into the game.
A YugiTuber who knows how to pronounce Xyz AND Arc-V? It's a miracle! 8D
I like ritual and fusion summons. Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is amazing and I love Black Luster Soldier.
THANKS YOU SO MUCH this video help me out so much on teaching my little brother and sister to learn how to play Yu-Gi-Oh thx ^-^
