My travel journal kit has the same sorts of things! When my husband and I go on a road trip I fill up a tiny notebook as I ride in the car. Never bored! And I use up all those papers that pile up. So fun. Love your ideas.
Thank you so much for your video! I really appreciate that you showed how you use each of the things you bring with you, I find that very helpful as I am getting ready for a trip and want to do a travel sketchbook for the first time!
Hi there, Alexandra. I have a few of these bag drop videos as I sometimes change out what I take, and explain why. If you are packing for your travel sketchbook, believe it or not the advice (of MANY years) I would give is to take less than you think you need. I've done just fine with a pen and notebook paper, in a pinch, and often find that I didn't use half the stuff I lugged around. Keep me posted on how it goes! Kelly
Oh goodness, the traveling gypsy is on at it once again! I've missed you Missy, but now it all makes sense. Love your info and techniques. Really swooned over that last drawing of the Abby in your book, with the rusty background dribbled on the page. PRIMO! Thanks Kelly, for all your info and terrific videos. Have a great time! And please send each of your viewers a delicious French pastry! Excited to see your haul, when you return home again.:)
" Those cafe's are going to sit in themselves! " Ha! Love it!! Once again, very nice video, inspiring AND informative. Wish I was there with you, heavy sigh...... one day soon. Safe travels.
Wish you were here, too. It would be so fun to make pages and compare notes. Maybe one day, indeed, Simone. And re cafes, in Wales we have wind and rain most of the year so being able to sit outside is a great treat and sit there I do, sketchbook at hand. 🌞🌞
@@BookandPaperArts we thought spring was on the horizon but, it looks like we’re in for another snow storm. My hubby keeps saying “that’s springtime in the Rockies”. For me I can’t wait for some warm weather. Yes I do make journals also. Val
Missed you, glad to hear you are out having fun. Thanks! For taking time to make a video & give us tips on what art supplies to pack when traveling, can’t wait to see your next video enjoy the rest of your trip.
Hi there, Esmeralda. I hate missing posts as I made a deal with myself two years ago that I wouldn't but what can you do when the sun is shining and there is so much history and beauty to explore? Just about to leave to check out a 9th century sanctuary! More soon. Kelly
Thank you, Judy. New is just fine. We all start where we start and learn as we go from doing it right and from doing it wrong. I hope you make fun pages in your travel sketchbook. Keep me posted! Kelly
You are truly a marvel! Thanks for sharing your beautiful surroundings with us. I love your supplies and that zippered bag has inspired me. I still have your new year advice pinned to my device. ❤ 😊
Well thank you, Helen. What a terrific thing to hear this morning. Re zippered bag - I actually treated myself to a fancy artist's roll for a certain birthday. I had wanted it for ages but it was pricey and I saved and got it and guess what? It is good but I prefer my cheap nylon bag and went back. I have these in two sizes, and the pockets are the best. Re resolutions, I start mine in October so that by January they are practiced and in place. Maybe I will do a pep talk video about this because I am passionate about resolution-setting and how it can change your life. 🌷🌻🌼
Love this. I have a travel bag and watercolor travel set. But alas have not traveled since the arrival of covid. I do miss it. I use watercolor pencils and water brushes often, love them. So nice for sketching. I enjoy your videos.keep them coming. ,🖌🖌
Hiya, Jean. I actually have made a few journals during Covid, pretending that my everyday life is the journey, which I am pretty sure it is. I still travel in a mask and take care. Hope you are having a creative week! Kelly
Hi Susan, thanks a bunch. I used to carry everything and the kitchen sink but my shoulders (to say nothing of airline baggage weight restrictions) won't stand for it. 😁🌞
Why thank you, Jessica. I always imagine I sound like Lauren Bacall then hear myself on camera and sound more like Marcia Brady. 🙄😁 So thank you for the vote of confidence. Kelly
@@vatiammatri Hi there. I am going to be honest off the record: I like these paints but do not love them and the next time will probably try another brand, saving-up-wise. 🎨🎨
Hi there, Anne. It doesn't seem to be on that pen site anymore. Here is a link to the Lihit site which quotes prices in yen (oops) but maybe you can use the description to find them in the US or UK. I have a friend who got hers on Ebay. I hope this helps. It is halfway down the page, laptop bag. I have both A4 and A5 and love them both. The A5 is the one I show in the video. www.eng.lihit-lab.com/category/item/itemgenre/case-bags/page/7/
Hi Lizzie, the ones I am using now are by Raphael. Here is a link to show you what they look like but you can also cut and paste the name into Ebay or a local art supply store and they should have them: www.thebrushguys.com/shop/raphael-precision-travel-brush-set-bamboo-wrapper-round-0-round-2-flat-0-flat-2-filbert-1-softaqua-mop-4/ To find ones similar to the ones in this video, go to an art supply store or ebay and put in Travel Watercolour Brushes then scroll until you find some that have caps come off and post at the back making a longer brush while protecting the bristles in travel. Mine are cheapish and the "real" ones are pricey but I have had my cheaper ones for two years and still use them. I hope this helps! Kelly
