There is a lot of truth to that but after watching that show for all these years I'm a little jaded. Oh and it's true what every police officer says, "I could write a book about this stuff and nobody would believe it".... Lol.
In a nutshell, the world is ultimately all about power over people, sex, and money. The whole power-over-people thing trumps the other two, stragely enough. You don't have to be a cop to realize that :)

Devil's Offspring that’s a generalized understanding of it. You do need to be a cop to see some of the things they do. Cops go through more shit than you and I ever will. These brave soles have put their lives on the line to keep us safe. What you said is something that everyone knows, but not everyone sees it. Cops see it first hand. They see terrible things and I’m sure they see some great things as well. Not sure if you were trying to be a sarcastic or not but either way, yes. You do need to be a cop to realize it. Everyone knows the world is fucked up but we don’t realize how fucked up it is until we see for ourselves.
I totally agree with you about the body cams, too. They stop the rare less than ethical officers, and they cover the good guys' asses when you're accused of bad behavior and the video vindicates your actions.
I have been a police officer for almost 12 years and started at 21. I still feel very young but I’ve spent my entire career working south central LA and Watts, so I’ve seen a few things. When I started we didn’t have body cams, we didn’t have dash cams, and now we have both. I still remember going to court and what I said on the stand was considered the truth. Now I can literally make an arrest on a traffic stop for a ex con with a gun, and get called a liar. It’s unbelievable how different court is compared to 11 years ago. One thing I’ve realized is that even with a body can showing a suspect with a gun in his hand, we will still get called a liar. So then what is the point of the body cam if it doesn’t change things for the better. At this point in my career I am very disappointed with the way we are treated. I have hope it will change, but even with our videos being released after a major incident. You still see people paint the officer as the bad guy and act as if the officer caused the suspect to cause the shooting. Oh well, just another 23 years to go.
Soon body cams will be worn by men in all of corporate America. We are already refusing to take female co workers out to business lunches and do one on one meetings in a private room. Too risky with this meToo movement debacle.
I'm a Former South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer. I served for almost 10 years in the Upstate. First of all, Merry Christmas to you Officer 401. Thanks for posting this and other videos to inform and educate the public about life as a Policeman. I've been out of Law Enforcement for over 16 years now and I'm sure that it's definitely a different environment out there on the streets. I appreciate you and what you do to show people that Police Officers are actually real human beings that have feelings, families, and aren't numbers with a badge. We aren't any different than any other average everyday person,we are just different only in the aspect of the nature of our profession. Thanks for all that you do Sir, and again have a Merry Christmas!
I've got 26 years as a forensic investigator (Last Responder) working for a very large coroner's office. Trust me, it has changed me forever. I don't even trust my own shadow. Merry Christmas
Claudia Rodriguez. Minimum 4 years university in forensic science and you can also pursue a Masters degree. Then you apply into different programs depending on the specialty. I ended up with a degree in forensic anthropology. I study skeletal remains, but everyone in my department had to rotate throughout the morgue.
I start with my Sheriff’s Office January 2nd and I start at the academy January 7th. I have worked in an Operating Room for the last several years and during my last week, I had so many people tell me they don’t understand how I could want to be a police officer in these times. Its sad that people do have such a bleak outlook. I haven’t been able to take the smile off my face since I was told I was hired. Some people just have this calling and that’s why it’s not for everyone.
Congratulations!! I can feel your enthusiasm through the screen and I really appreciate this comment and your perspective. I was working security in an overage alternative school for the last 3 years and as stressful and chaotic as it could get at times, it was the most rewarding job I’ve had. However the pay was extremely low and I literally couldn’t live off of what I was making. I just switched over to working sheetmetal, hanging ductwork all day. I more than doubled my income from one day to the next and I’m really enjoying the work. However, I have a feeling it’s just because it’s something new that has my attention. I have a feeling that overtime this excitement is going to fade. I’m only a helper now but there’s a lot of room for growth and it seems like a good trade to get into. There is a lot of good opportunities here. But I don’t know if I’ll be happy doing this as a living for the foreseeable future. I keep feeling this urge to become a police officer. I’m trying to decide whether to delve deeper into this trade and have a company pay for my schooling to become a journeyman or risk it and go back to school out of my own pocket and try to become an officer. Coming across people like you and reading what you said about not being able to take the smile off your face since you were told you were hired makes me feel even more encouraged to go for it. I’m going to make some time asap to go to my local college to get informed on the upcoming semester and make a decision. Sorry for the essay! Lol I just had to get this off my chest
Raymundo Castillo I made a huge career switch and it was all so sudden. I have wanted to be an officer my entire life, but I didn’t feel like I was good enough. I went into the medical field because I wanted to help people. I worked as an OR tech and I was applying for nursing school when I decided to apply at a couple of my local departments. I was going to let them tell me no instead of telling myself I couldn’t do it. I knew it was meant to be when I was the only one that made it through the hiring process out of about 100 people. This is the first time in my life I feel like I am where I am supposed to be. You’ll know when the time is right.
Fritz That’s got to be an amazing feeling knowing you were one out of 100. I ended up working at the school by chance. Being an officer had always been in the back of my mind but it’s not something I seriously considered until working security and interacting with the school district police officers and the city police officers that were assigned to work that school. Between assisting the officers in whatever they needed from me, being able to resolve problems between students or students and teachers, and experiencing the adrenaline rush of students (mostly grown men and women) becoming combative with me and having to physically restrain them until the cops could get there and take over, made me realize I really want to take that step and become an officer to help people. I was planning on going through the school district since they had a cadet program where you don’t need any college credits to become an officer with them and put myself through college in the meantime so I could apply for the city once I finished school and already have some experience as an officer. But that cadet program was closed indefinitely and then I was offered a good paying job to work in sheetmetal since I had some experience in that. So there went those plans. But ever since then I can’t get the thought of becoming an officer out of my mind. I think I’m going to go for it before I get older and always have this what if in the back of my mind.
Great video. Keep up the good work. Oct 2018 was 23 years of service, and in that time I have had 11 left knee surgeries, my left shoulder rebuilt, found out my right shoulder is now torn. Had to go to the ER 25 times for injuries, feel through ceilings with my K9, been shot at, a lot, fought suspects for guns, knives, been drug by cars to name a few. I am on my 4th agency (fed's) as a Lt. Started off as a city police officer, K9 handler, trainer, street crime unit, highway drug interdiction, then went oversea's as a UN Civilian Cop and worked homicide/ IA, came back went to work for a county agency, where I was injured twice on duty, forced into a medical retirement, arrested on workers comp fraud, fought that for 4 year, cost me almost 100k case dismissed, but the arrest is still on my criminal history, found the inv lied, withheld evidence, wrote a search warrant as a civilian pi working for the county. DA Inv proved the Inv left out exculpatory evidence that would have cleared me in the beginning. The DA's office refused to investigate the investigator who did the case, who also had issues with a similar case in my former county where he lied, withheld evidence and threatened witnesses. I have taught at the academy, private college, for a criminal justice expert, guest lecturer at my old college prof's intro to CJ course, yes he is still alive. And no I did not use a hammer and chisel to write my reports. Why am I still doing it after all this??? I don't know, its all I have ever known how to do. I started at 20 years old and I am 56 now soon to be 57. EXcept for the year I tried another job after coming home from oversea's, did not like the civilian world, the 4 years I was unable to work while trying to clear my name, and the 2 1/2 years working as a private contract security watch cmdr. My adult life has been wearing a uniform.
I started 47 years ago (1972) i couldn't imagine doing it today. In my day it was alkies and pot heads. Today it's meth-heads, heroin, crack and just cultural arrogance/ gross ignorance. Kudos to the people with the patience and perseverance to do it now.
I just got hired on with my Local PD, they’re sending me to the academy in February so your academy series will really help me! Thanks Officer401 and Merry Christmas!!!!
Good luck and learn to embrace the suck. It'll go by fast if you take it as an experience for personal growth. Don't expect to learn much more than the bare minimum your state requires and you won't be disappointed. Just got out of my first academy and am finishing a secondary academy and I know the main lessons I'll learn on the road. Again, good luck and never give up.
Marry Christmas to all please unlock the comments on your videos please so we can talk and communicate with you and each other please and like I said marry Christmas sir
Joseph oliver merry Christmas my brother. I will be unlocking the comments right at the new year. I appreciate the reminder and thank you for supporting my channel.
I always hear my senior guys talk about how things were different then and how video cameras changed everything. Not to mention a lot of them are in the process of retiring after 20 years. One of my FTOs told me he could do 30 years but with the way the society is handling policing he doesnt want to deal with it and will retire next year. So it will be interesting how things have change once I hit my 30 mark. Anyway nice video, stay safe and happy holidays
I just wanted to thank you for all of your videos I just finished the Tennessee law enforcement training academy this past week and am ready to get to work I've been watching your videos for almost a year now and you have been a big component in me choosing this career have a merry Christmas and a happy new year
Thank you for your 10 years of service! Thank you for risking your life everyday your on the job. Thank you for giving us videos that will help people, like me, with becoming a cop. Love your videos, keep it up.
Dude I have so much respect for you and what you’ve done . I just recently joined the marines and I’m thinking about being a police officer afterwards. So your videos give me a good insight on everything. Keep it up !
Great video, thank you. I’ve been on the job 29+years now. Currently a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio. Unit #501. Like DeNiro said in his one movie about him & Pachino were NYPD Detectives, “Most people respect the Badge, Everyone respects the gun!”. Good Day Everyone!
I have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years and can definitely say that I have changed as a person because of it. Knowing when and how to react and what to let slide. My kids didn't always like it because you weren't sick until you were blue in the face with you feet in the air. Still look forward to going to work and am grateful I made nursing as a career choice. Thank you Officer 401 for the dedication and passion you have. Merry Christmas and a most wonderful New Year to you and all your family, immediate and the family in blue.
401 I’m currently on active duty. Watching your videos have motivated the crap out of me to serve as a cop. Thank you so much for what you do and keep this information coming.
I think that your presence on this platform is a huge step in the right direction as far as mitigating animosity toward law enforcement. There has always been a tiny contingent of bad cops, but with the advances in technology, they have become so much more visible. No one posts video of a great experience with a great officer. It's such a shame. Literally all of LEOs that I've known are super upstanding and levelheaded.
July 2019 will mark 10 years as a Deputy. I feel like you just described me. Especially when you said you are more reserved, you would rather listen then talk. Stay safe B.
My boyfriend's going to school to be a cop, and it scares the hell out of me knowing anything could happen but at the same time I trust hed do everything he could to be home
Totally agree with you bro...people focuses on what very few of us do wrong instead of what the vast majority do right...remember “WE THE UNAPPRECIATED MUST DO THE UNIMAGINABLE AND SEE THE UNTHINKABLE TO PROTECT THE UNGRATEFUL “
*Thanks for your work, Officer. Maybe I'll get a chance to work with you one day (graduating in 2019 and hoping to head to academy soon after). Merry Christmas!*
I have so much respect for what you guys do! I think police officers don’t get near enough credit for all the shit you guys deal with. Merry Christmas! I’m glad you’ll be safe and sound with your family
Hey Officer401, can you make a video about the first day on the Job? I’m starting my first day as a LEO the day after Christmas. I’d like to know what to expect, how to dress and etc.
I have my interview and polygraph test coming up any month now. I know you have your own life and schedule (and stress lol) but the sooner you come out with that video, the better. Thanks so much!
The last part of this video was nothing but truth. I was raised the same way, and cannot wrap my head around why we have started to turn a blind eye to holding people accountable. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Keep it code 4, and from an American to a fellow American, much love and respect from across the world in Germany!
I’ve been retired 21 yrs from my 30 yr career and I know it’s left me w/a hard crust that put some people off. I saw & experienced a lot but I don’t think about the really bad stuff much. No dash or body cams in my time. Stay safe Officer 401.
Im a police officer in Poland with 5years of experience and it's deppresing because I earn $800 per month,it's really crappy, but I still love this job!
36 years on the job . First patrol car had 2 red “bubble gum” lights. I carried a six shot revolver, and there were only 3 portable radios available for my squad if 6-7 officers. And this was pre-cell phones and pagers.
I have to say to all you officers out there right now. Please know that some of us still appreciate what you do and why you do it. I am sorry that politicians have become involved and are tearing you guys apart.
I got in a heated argument on social media a few weeks ago, one of my high school friends was trying to claim that all cops are bad people simply for their decision to be a cop. The reasoning behind this claim was you're sworn to uphold the law and there are lots of laws are inherently racist. I tried to argue against it but sometimes people only hear what they want to. But I did link a couple of your videos to show that broad generalizations like that are usually misinformed.
Took my written exam and physical Abilities Test this weekend, I’m so excited to continue this hiring process to fulfill my life long dream of becoming an officer!
Both your channel and ASP have made me respect cops out there. there is going to be bad apples but most of you are good people doing a job and a very hard job at that.
Merry Christmas! We need more LEO's like you, man. when I was 5 an officer came to my school..when we toured the squad car I vividly remember the loud ads clicking relays when the lightbar got turned on!! He even let us put on a bulletproof vest..put us in the back and let us try to get out. That was in like 1986 or 87..amazing how vastly different the world is now..
Good luck and may God look over you during your watch. I retired from LE two years ago after 25yrs. Just remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Merry Christmas
24 yrs old now, had been in it for 5 yrs now... It made me hate humanity as a whole. You will meet people that have you for being in that uniform... You will face the worst in people.
Rdon 357 citizens get killed because cops are un-fit and resort to using weapons instead of their fists . I train everyday that way I don’t have to use my weapon . Nervousness isn’t the issue; it’s the way you overcome the nervousness that makes you a cop.
Recent police academy graduate after 2 years in corrections. Starting FTO next week. Your videos are part of my unwinding routine. Merry Christmas, brother
Here in AZ code 3(lights and sirens) is only supposed to be 20 over. That's not even fast enough to keep up with the traffic on th I17. I'm pretty sure it's not necessarily followed. I watched a police charger catch air in a 40. Pretty sure 60 mph doesn't put you airborne.
Hey man, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of days now, and I can tell you that I’m not a cop, but I identify my mindset with yours. Great stuff! And thank you for your service.
There was a study done that my professor showed us in Crim Jus (Major in police force) showing that there has actually been a rise in police trust, from a little below 50% to i think 54%. So most people do actually trust and like cops, however, i think those that dont like or trust cops REALLY dont like or trust cops. And no, no idea where this study was from, but it was comparing trust in military, cops, schools, church, and media. Dont worry, media was at, like, 16%. Military was at 72% though.
Historically people have never liked "the cops", its not a new thing.... not liking "The Man". The cops are the red coats, the people that work for the powers in charge...... be it good or bad. Historically its almost always bad and they almost always end up being the first line when people dont pay there taxes, or give homage to royalty, or they are the people who have to back up some wildly unpopular law. People hate them and historically its almost always for a good cause and in the end.... the police are always on the losing side. I have some friends that are Leos and they are just like every body else........ not really...... When they talk about there job its always them against the people.
We have an amazing volunteer organization I'm apart at the PD. It's graduates of the citizen's academy who want to continue their education and want to strengthen the relationship between the dept and the citizens. We're at every public event and chief loves it. I'm so happy that we have this. We are non profit and have been able to raise a lot to go back to the PD. We're called CPAAC. I've recently become apart of their board of directors as well. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I just graduated from a military style police academy down here in Florida on the 13th! You're the motivation I had to change my life for the better and if you have any questions about what it's like now to go through that experience and how different the training is due to the previous things you've mentioned in the intro I'd be happy to help!
No job tells you everything. Really, most jobs tell you nothing practicle. They tell you concepts but they never tell you what to do in certain situations that aren't as generalized as the concepts you learned. Ex: I drive trucks local and there's tons of shit that I've learned overtime (6 months to be exact), that noone taught me about. Situations with customers that noone warned me about.
Law enforcement is one of the most difficult lines of work you can enter. For every 99 cops who are just plain awesome, there's always one that will get all the negative media attention. And that is not right. Every morning I see the same LEOs getting coffee and I have developed a nice relationship with them. They even got a pothole repaired by the city I was whining about. I love 'em!
Been a cop for 6ys. Seen alot, done alot, moved into specialties quicker than most I suppose. But I've matured so much. I've gained alot of valuable people skills. Been fortunate enough to have investigated a few homicides(it wasnt just me it was my team). I've Seen way too many henious things whether it was ICAC cases I've worked, child suicides, horrible cases of child and elderly abuse. Investigated and been back up on way too many domestics. Ive witnessed officers let the job cause them to self destruct because of ego and turning to substances which transpired into abuse. In my area alot of officers feel like they have no where to turn because it's still a 'good old boys club', where we are constantly told to "rub some dirt on our wounds and tak an aspirin and Midol for our problems and move on." Its sad Ive known Officers that have committed suicides, hell even had an officer in my area murdered his entire family. Sad shit. Through all this negative and getting to witness first hand the dark side of humanity, Ive grown so much as a man, a father and husband. Still working on being a better friend and neighbor because I dont trust people haha. But the growth didnt come easy, I've had many dark days! I've drank way too much alcohol for the majority of my time as a cop. Happy to say however I realized it and am sober now! I've let the job make me depressed from a mixture of missing out on so much of life and seeing so much misery and constantly dealing the dregs of society. However I'm aware of my depression and work on it in healthy, productive ways. Without pharmaceuticals mind you. (I hate the Pharmaceutical industry!) I'm currently a detective so I'm off the streets in a cozy office for now haha. I'm also finishing my degree then hanging up my badge before I have to rotate back to patrol. With all that said, I respect LE as a profession but would never want my kids to work in the profession. Truth is, the majority of cops are decent people struggling with the curve balls of life like anyone else. With all this said, I'm grateful there are those out there that are willing to sacrifice their lives to go work all hours of the day, and miss every weekend and holiday working in the profession. But as for me and my family it's soon time to move on. I no longer have a desire to work patrol so I'm moving on because it isnt fair to me, my family to be miserable doing something i no longer have a passion for, nor is it fair to my co-workers when my head isnt in the game if you will so I'm moving on. Props to your channel brother respect your honesty and transparency.
@@ItsBrittany. depends on your department. In my area every department rotates. Yea it sucks. I have a nice office, amazing unmarked diesel truck and great schedule. Then it will go away and back to rotating shifts on the beat lol.
@@patrickbateman161 wow!! Were you the type of Det. from the show SVU? The ones who wear dress mans everday and go search and interview people? I want to be that type of Det. Also, congrats on being sober man!
Merry Christmas 401! Thank you for another awesome video that let's us know what it's like being an officer today. I hope you and your family will have a safe and fantastic Christmas!
In 2014, according to the Justice Department, police interacted 35 million times with the public. With that number in mind, how many "bad" incidents happen? A statistically insignificant number. Many people have a story about "that one time" where a cop didn't hold their hand during a stop, but where was that cop coming from previously? A murder scene? A domestic dust-up? Cops are doing a better job now than ever before. And if you choose to start yelling about "your rights", and "why did you stop me" (where they won't tell you without first seeing your ID so that you are less likely to BOLT)....if you treat the officer with disrespect in this way, be assured...YOU ARE GETTING A TICKET (at least).....so don't be stupid...be nice.
That's a bunch of crap! I have had several interactions with law enforcement and just about every one of those interactions the officer tried to escalate the situation to a level of violence. Too many of these LEOs are adrenaline junkies that get drunk on their own perceived authority.
@@AaAaa-iy5bl You were pulled over, handed over your ID and POI, were polite, had no warrants, and were attacked? I never had that happen. I've been stopped about...17 times?
@Trey Just being nice, speaking only when spoken to, being honest to a fellow human being, and providing the "always required" information when I have been pulled over has resulted in 500 batting average at not getting a ticket. Of course I have also been stopped because some guy with the same name as me had warrants....and of course I was speeding at that time, too, but I was cool so no ticket...
@Trey I fought and defend this county and it's people so that you can talk out your ass without knowing any facts or additional information. Now to be clear, I am going to assume (assuming is not a very good thing to do of course), that you only have had a limited amount of time on this Earth, your life experiences are limited and I mean very limited to a very small geographical area, and that you barely have a high school education, otherwise you might consider what has happened over the last three or four decades before you spilling crap from your pie-hole.
@Trey Actually Trey, I could careless about what or who you are, I replied to your comment because you seem uneducated, naive, immature, and overly fanatical.
Have you ever heard of a non citizen being hired in any police department that you know of? I was brought here by visa and was an over stay at the age of 2. My parents never went back to Mexico after that. Ive been in the United States ever since, currently 22- im under DACA now though. I've looked into local departments and it doesn't seem like theres a way around it, they don't even seem to hire/train permanent residents. I have seen online a couple cases of DACA recipients being hired but its primarily small scale police departments and theyre confined to Illinois. I tested recently with a local department in which my wife had messaged the chief of police if maybe there could be an exception made and did well on their physical after he told me to go and submit an application anyways but as soon as they noticed I wasnt a US citizen on my background packet the cops there kicked me from the rest of the exam. Itd be a dream come true to get the opportunity and i have a pretty spotless record, always tried to do whats right and avoid trouble. It seems unfair to not have a chance at least just because of 2 years and something I had no decision in. My wife who ive been with 3 years now has petitioned for my permanent residency but its such a long and convoluted process now that I doubt ill have citizenship before im 30 the more we become involved in it.
There's a detective in Little Rock PD (Arkansas) named Julio Gil. Hes 100% Mexican and Mexico City born. I don't know the details of his hire but this might be give you an idea.
As a civilian in my 50s I’m glad to see body cams in practically continuous use. We (the public, the jury) get to see the speed in which a situation devolves, about how the police are usually at a disadvantage. There should be benefits to training by reviewing the videos. And...the police will learn how having 8 guys yell loudly at the same time ‘letmeseeuorhands, stopresistingstopresisting” really doesn’t deescalate a situation - it makes it worse. That type of performing for the video record - or misguided training flaw - will hopefully end. And development of a better non-lethal tools and techniques would be great.
I’ve worked in a county jail now for almost two years and verbal judo is a lot of just plain experience. I used to be horrible at it and even after this long I still have a lot to learn.
Haven't wished for much this year.. but this is by far the best Christmas gift/surprise yet... talked to a friend when I saw the announcement on discord had to find an excuse to end the call. Merry Christmas 401
I’ll be going to the police academy in February. I have been watching your videos throughout the whole hiring process and you have helped me a lot with all your videos. Thank you and merry Christmas!
I've watched just about all of your videos and you speak the honest truth man about law enforcement it brings tears to my eyes from my experiences also as an officer and I Thank You for doing this just as a basic education tool for people who don't know, keep doing you thing brother and stay safe out there.

Thank you Justin! Those of us with nothing to hide don't mind the body cams one bit!
@@blkstang4830 thank you for everything stay safe and make sure you and your fellow officers make it home. i got 10 months till i'm up for the academy
Justin Hughes the rarity is the ethical good cop. Cops have a bad rep of them acting, behaving and thinking they’re above the law.
Chuck McCall I live in South Carolina and I really appreciate everything y’all all do, thank you for your service and have a very merry Christmas.
Thank you Chuck! Merry Christmas to you too buddy!

I've got 26 years as a forensic investigator (Last Responder) working for a very large coroner's office. Trust me, it has changed me forever. I don't even trust my own shadow. Merry Christmas
Did you guys had to be officer?
Claudia Rodriguez. Minimum 4 years university in forensic science and you can also pursue a Masters degree. Then you apply into different programs depending on the specialty. I ended up with a degree in forensic anthropology. I study skeletal remains, but everyone in my department had to rotate throughout the morgue.
Thank you for helping your community. It is much appreciated. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas! Happy new year too.
Got a like from the boss man... nice
It genuinely made me so happy to hear you don't struggle with PTSD. You're a great guy 401. Happy holidays to you and yours.
I start with my Sheriff’s Office January 2nd and I start at the academy January 7th. I have worked in an Operating Room for the last several years and during my last week,
I had so many people tell me they don’t understand how I could want to be a police officer in these times. Its sad that people do have such a bleak outlook.
I haven’t been able to take the smile off my face since I was told I was hired. Some people just have this calling and that’s why it’s not for everyone.
Fritz I start at the sheriffs office to January 2nd start new journey in my life at age 24. Good luck
Kevin Dupree Good luck Kevin! Congratulations.
Started off as a city police officer, K9 handler, trainer, street crime unit, highway drug interdiction, then went oversea's as a UN Civilian Cop and worked homicide/ IA, came back went to work for a county agency,
where I was injured twice on duty, forced into a medical retirement, arrested on workers comp fraud, fought that for 4 year, cost me almost 100k case dismissed, but the arrest is still on my criminal history, found the inv lied, withheld evidence, wrote a search warrant as a civilian pi working for the county.
I've been doing this 14 years, and the first thing my old Chief told me when I walked in the door was this job will steal your soul.. LMAO!!!!
I started 47 years ago (1972) i couldn't imagine doing it today. In my day it was alkies and pot heads. Today it's meth-heads, heroin, crack and just cultural arrogance/ gross ignorance.
Kudos to the people with the patience and perseverance to do it now.
Thanks to all the first responders working on the holidays, merry Christmas to y'all and be safe, thanks Officer 401 all the best
I'm relieved to find out that the body cameras don't record constantly, I was worried that when I become a cop I'll get caught singing in the car.
HaHa! Don't worry Tony, you only have to beware of the "other cams", you don't know about!
Lol yeah it would be tough on the I.T. guy having to delete footage of you taking a dump or eating lunch.
Best video ever. Anyone who "hates" cops don't know you. And unprofessional cops should learn from you.
Thank you for the kind words buddy!

Hoping to start the academy soon, appreciate the video my man
I always hear my senior guys talk about how things were different then and how video cameras changed everything.

Nahhhh. Also holy shit he liked my comment 😂
Merry Christmas officer 401 and everyone in law enforcment and military

Merry Christmas dude, and Happy New Year
Both your channel and ASP have made me respect cops out there. there is going to be bad apples but most of you are good people doing a job and a very hard job at that.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family.

when I was 5 an officer came to my school..when we toured the squad car I vividly remember the loud ads clicking relays when the lightbar got turned on!!

If your scared/nervous then dont there is enough of those on the job already and thats how citizens get killed
Rdon 357 citizens get killed because cops are un-fit and resort to using weapons instead of their fists . I train everyday that way I don’t have to use my weapon . Nervousness isn’t the issue; it’s the way you overcome the nervousness that makes you a cop.

Lol 16% for media? I’m surprised it’s that high.
@@inkbold8511 hahahaha right!!! Media sucks more and more each day

Merry Christmas :D
wow no one recognized u.
I love 'em!

Another stellar video. Your advise is fantastic! Merry Christmas.
DemarkableP heyy! Why do u have to rotate back in patrol? Ive heard that before. I figured once you became a Det. then thats your new role..no?

Thank you so much for serving and protecting your community I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year
As a civilian in my 50s I’m glad to see body cams in practically continuous use.
Merry Christmas loved the video definitely a great topic have a great day today and tomorrow officer401 ☺
