I used to work for Allied Universal. The turn-over rate for Supervisors is ridiculously high. To the point of being literally laughable. Every intelligent person knows you don't waste your time trying to move up in the company. Just come to work, go home, here's your check at the end of the week. If that's all you do, they're no worse than other big security companies.
A coworker abandoned their post after 1am and didn't come back until 4am; drunk, uniform undone, reeked of heavy alcohol and was being hostile and argumentative. He's friends with the Operations Manager, so he faced no consequences. I've been with Allied for almost a decade now and am hastily looking for a new job. Tired of working downtown overnight around crazies anyway.
haha working downtown overnight is the fine part to me its the crappy employees that gets me. Half my night staff would just sleep in their cars the whole night or yeah just be fully intoxicated on shift.
I’m a current employee for Allied Universal & I’m going through a lot of what your going through with Allied & other security companies I started security in 2019 got promoted in 2020 to field supervisor then went back to being a guard up till now until I started working for Allied in 2021 it’s been all down hill the longer I was with them. My situation is I’m trying to get out of one spot there forcing now to stay so it’s all bullshit. 3 years into this field and it’s been all down hill with certain people not being reliable & honest, I’m going back into either the automotive field again or doing driving jobs. Allied Universal only seems to care about having a warm body at a post other than having a reliable human being.
Yeah I'm even thinking about getting my CDL right now haha....I think they care about hiring reliable people but they care more about money and yes the more warm bodies there are especially on the contracts they undercut everyone on pricing it until they can't pay their security officers a living wage...Like the highest paid person at my site besides me and my captain was a 65 yr old who i mentioned covered my sept 1st shift and he only got 11.50/hr. Everyone else was making 10-11. You're not getting reliable people for that little
First off you need to get rid of that wanna be cop attitude, calling yourself Officer, having a police patch as your avatar, you're the kind of person who will work security for your entire life.
Even if u make $17.00 a hour they really will pay u overtime to be their Ginny pig 🐷…I refused to do doubles which means I do 16 hour shifts I refused 😂😂😂
I scheduled a phone interview with Allied Universal. NO ONE CALLED. The recruiter or manager assigned to interview me for a nice site that pays $20 an hour wasted my time applying online. I need a security guard job desperately. Falling behind with all my bills. I am former Navy and cannot get a job in NY, a state that favors illegal aliens over legal citizens. Thank God I have some cash put aside for a rainy day. QUESTION Why would Allied schedule a phone interview and then never call? I feel that the interviewer does not care as long as he or she has an income. It's not a good impression, honestly.
@@guidofeliz8384 I had a similar experience. The phone interview started and then I heard a different phone ring on their end. The interviewer said they would call me back and never did. Then I got a text asking to offer a review of my experience 😅. I was honest and a different person contacted me to reschedule the interview. It was a sh*t show 😂. So unprofessional!! 😆
I literally just quit this company. I've been reading reviews since and NOTHING good about this company can be said. I received little to no training and before leaving I was told that newcomers would receive even less training. I also experienced being scheduled 12+ hour shifts without notice, I made it clear at orientation I have a teaching job that is priority and they still would schedule to conflict with that job. I do not regret the decision to send in an immediate resignation.
yeah I came in on the friday schedule i showed for a 16 hour shift i didn't know about just to see I had a 16 hour shit the next day too...they don't care about your life outside of work, which is insane. my least favorite job basically because of that...and a million other things
I've sat waiting for my relief and no one showed up and no one called to tell me no one was coming when they knew they weren't. They didn't have the balls to tell me they were fucking me over and forcing me to work a 16-hour shift. They said that someone was coming after I called them 15 minutes after my shift ended. After a couple hours with no one showing up I called them back and told them I knew that no one was coming and that I was leaving my post. I closed up shop and went home. I don't play that crap.
@@nicholasgranados4706 No, because the client gave a shit about me and stood up for me. He said there was hardly anyone coming through that gate (gated community) anyway, so it was no big deal to close it up and hang a sign instructing people to go to the other gate.
The managers get secret bonus checks if they keep the overtime down. You can put in extra hours one day but they take them away the next by telling you not to come in. But a manager gets extra money for simply making that happen. No extra work done on his part. That's just underhanded, cheap, and dishonest. They let you think you're going to get extra hours (OT) and then take it away.
I'm a retired law enforcement officer. I have been working the same post for AUS part time for a few years. They have always been very good to me and the crew at our location. Some guards come and go but it's always because they screwed up by drinking on the job, not showing up or worse.
@@MakiKelo No. We've had a few losers who should not have been hired. Their shortcomings were probably not evident at the time of their hiring but they were quickly removed after they violated company policies. I'm very happy working for AUS on a part time basis.
I said this on another security channel and they talked about allied as well,, when you get your security license dont just limited yourself to companies like this...i worked for a big security company once and all we did was factories i was just sitting behind a desk answering phones..i always wanted to do vip protection so i invested in more trainng..and started working for smaller companies that did temporary contracts i was doing alot of overnight security at construction sites as well as parking lot security for bars and night clubs on weekend's... but jobs like that you have to look for were as companies like allied they will hire anybody to fill there accounts.
I just started yesterday, I was supposed to be getting trained on the job at this event special. I was supposed to see my supervisor and hand her a checklist for the things I have to go through, but she was not here. I called and even messaged her and nothing… My post was straightforward I just had to watch a closed parking lot to make sure no one enters in. Already I do not like allied. Everything is just so unorganized.
I have been a supervisor with allied for two years. Just caught my ops manager red handed committing illegal activity. Job was the worst I have ever had. Lawyers and attorneys are involved on my behalf. After listening to your video you should have hired an attorney. You could have definitely sought after damages against the company.
I hope your situation is ok and everything is good for you...yeah and hopefully you kept better records than me, although my videos did help my vec case against them because it just got overturned. They were saying i quit so I could move, but obviously I quit because of the culture and environment and them saying i wasn't actively seeking employment when i show in my other video I was literally filling out an application to 7/11 and I was doing like 20+ applications a week and doing multiple interviews in the same area i had done security
I know a guy that worked two 16-hour shifts in one week while with Allied and before the weeks end, they made him take two days off to reduce his O.T. for that week. Needless to say, he was pissed. He was expecting a fat paycheck for the long days he'd worked, and he ended up quitting.
Thing is there is just so many things that can go wrong with an account. District could suck at negotiating and bidding a contract leaving you understaffed and with unqualified people in their position. The management could be nothing more than an empty seat that constantly fouls up scheduling and pay, then the client could also just be awful with unreasonable demands and treating the SPs like 💩 because they believe they are so far superior to rent-a-cops. And we haven't even got to the part of the locals that cause the problems creating a need for security.
ok the 2 sites I worked were just between allied and admiral...both of them had been admiral and then switched back to allied multiple times and its just a bidding war to the bottom also with the companies all merging and getting rid of the competitors the race to the bottom is getting quicker
Several years ago I worked in a place that had in house security. It was great. Then they decided to go to Universal Security (This of course prior to the merger with Allied Barton). Universal came in and just broke everything. Everything that was good was trashed. Then they took over the interview process for our place and would hire just total moronic clowns that had zero business being there, or people who would work maybe a day or two then quit. It was so horrible that I went from loving where I worked to loathing it. I lasted 3 months after we went contract and bailed. It's hard to find a decent contract security job. A majority of the major companies suck. However, there ARE good security jobs out there. You just have to find them, which is difficult because you either have to know someone, or there are rarely openings because the jobs hold.
Thank you for the videos , I thought I was the only one! I quit unprofessional Allied Security because of the craziness And rudeness that I received. On two occasions when I started with this company they sent me to the sites with no Washrooms and I was supposed to work a 12 hours shift...can you believe this ! It took them two months to pay my first paycheck. And the last. They promised me $18 per hour but they paid me $16... Total disaster company.
I tried applying, im a student and they told me they didnt want me unless i could basically just cover anyone's shift at any time... I am not losing school hours because somebody called off, the hiring guy also was rude when he reviewed my application and pointed out that i said i had autism on the part that asks about disabilities, he acted like i was a goddamn child on the phone and refused to let me know details about the site i applied to
Thank God I am retired now after 27 years working private security. The best company that I worked for was Apollo which was owned by former military people. The owner retired and sold the company to Allied sadly enough.
Hey man, I just randomly came across this new video. I don't know if you remember me, but I commented on your last Allied video a while back. But yea Allied sucks. It's also been two years since I've quit the security guard industry and I've never felt better.
Yep zero days off no pto no benefits in 7 years i worked so much forced overtime. I never have been give any payed sick days. Zero pay raises still same wages 9.25 a hour here in seymour indiana
I was a supervisor for Allied security in Arizona worked for a month with A expired guard card that they knew about treated Employees like crap would never work for them again Cheated me out of holiday pay every holiday. What a waste of time.
I live in Peoria az I worked at delta security for 2.5 weeks last month both my checks bounced and I had to pay a almost 500$ NSF fee basically a return fee on the check cause they were bad I got a job at securitas critical this is my 3rd week it is decent but I think they will fire me for fibbing on my security clearance background
I scheduled a phone interview with Allied Universal. NO ONE CALLED. The recruiter or manager assigned to interview me for a nice site that pays $20 an hour wasted my time applying online. Got to stop by. I did a phone video interview., showed ip for a face to face (they were in a "meeting ") then I did another face to face and got hired. Speak with the receptionist. Find out what days they have walk in interviews
I feel you brother I used to work for them when they was Allied Barton in Georgia and you do make overtime if somebody doesn't come to the site on time like they was doing me I used to have to be there at 10:00pm to 7:00am and the guy will run late so I wouldn't get off till 8:00am in the morning but I went ahead and quit back in 2015 because they kept on and off on sites with me it wasn't guaranteed money and it pays every 2 weeks so I quit and I got my money back from the uniform too they are a absolute joke 😅
I applied for a full time swing shift and now have been doing this part time bullshit job that was never in the description of the job. I was told that when I applied to be a patrol driver that they’re All filled so I got put to be a gate attendant. I didn’t complain because I was homeless at the time but now I’m seeing that they’re using that against me and taking advantage of my situation considering that I was told that they needed more patrol drivers for swing and morning and that they’re understaffed meanwhile I’m seeing new people being trained and schedule for work for full time jobs here And I’m just a fuccin stepping stone for them. I talked to the boss and she said just send me your driving record and we’ll get you scheduled so I’m waiting for that to come in but today I just simply had enough of their bullshit it’s quite obvious they want me to quit by them consistently starring at me when I come in to clock in for work and giggling like school girls and the guy that hired me told me last week he’d talk to me about being a patrol driver Saturday… never was brought up I came in a minute late today and they’re having a field day with that shit but meanwhile other mfs come in late and nothing is being said hell even supervisors came in late for their shift I wanna see when they’re getting written up because I don’t.. A lot of people be dropping like flies here because they get written up for the dumbest things and I was written up for being late prior when I was literally parked outside but nodded off because I have a sleeping disorder but I was still written up. I’m questioning why tf am I still here … but I’m so stubborn and hate letting people think they can get the best out of me but is it worth it ? They’re paying $17 it’s shity and now I’m only doing 5.5 hours and my last check was $399… imagine living off that in California.. They can go straight to hell…
ok I'm starting to think that this industry prays on the homeless! I was homeless when I started working for Allied and I've gotten a handful of homeless people doing security that have reached out to me. They will tell you one thing and give you another. It's not a good company of industry to be in. 100% get out as soon as possible. Amazon or Walmart are always hiring and even though they are evil companies too, but they are less evil than Allied Universal. You have more self autonomy with Walmart and Amazon than Allied because there are more pawns in the security industry. people that the higher ups dont care about. I'd say more than 50% of the security industry are pawns that don't matter to management and it's only like 20-30% for amazon and walmart. What I mean by all that is like moving up. I was promoted with no pay raise in the security field twice...2 times given extra responsibilities with no extra pay. I wasn't making 30k as a site supervisor basically being on call and having to work 16-32 hour shifts. Walmart I've got 1 promotion with 2 raises and I'm easily making 60k and thats before bonuses...If I take the next step to a Coach at Walmart I'm making 6 figures. It's harder than security but all it is in security is being a body and that essentially all it is at Walmart just show up and stay consistent. Then the discount and Walmart's benefits blow Allied's out of the water! not even close Allied doesn't offer shit in comparison
Update: I’m still with this garbage company I’m 10 months in. They renewed the contract with the company/client back in February and we were told that a raise was going to happen, shit still never happened 😂 It’s some urban legend at this point that they need to discuss the pay raise which is just more bullshit. I can totally relate with the fly situation The mosquitoes are a mf to deal with at night and of course our post are dirty af it’s ridiculous especially since we work in a upper class community. Its hard to find a job that pays well so I’m just hoping that we’d get a raise but I’m pretty sure the client only hired them so they can pay us shit. Old ass computers that lag, the gate arms are always malfunctioning, radios are garbage af, it’s a joke The amount of people who quit this job and people they fire for the dumbest shit is astounding. I’m surprised there’s no investigation going on , on why so many people keep leaving. I’m still in transitional housing I can barley afford that, I’m just going to stay until I find something better So not worth my mental health.
Allied hiring guy acted like i had the brain of a two year old when he reviewed my application and saw i put "autism" on the section asking about disabilities
Hey brother I know how you feel, I use to be field supervisor with US Security associates before allied took over the company, I was working no stop for 7 months and effective my personal life and school at the same time, mangers did not give a fuck about me , I’ll I was a body to do there dirty work and that’s when I demoted myself back to a regular security officer and they weren’t too happy, plus offer me a raise to come back and I said no. Ever security guards I worked had the same issue when there checks were short on overtime and I tried my best to help them out and the managers didn’t listen to me, that’s when I told them to go Labor Department and filed a complaint that your employer is not paying you in full
so much of that is soooo common...the Allied take over and then shit hitting the fan, especially with people not getting paid. yeah I wish I had gotten on the last class action lawsuit but theres always next time....keep your eyes peeled because Allied Universal gets sued every year or 2 for not paying their employees
Been with Allied going on 3 years. I’m not a supervisor but I’m basically alone at my site and don’t want to give it up. No one really to answer to, just show up, be a good guard for the client so they have nothing to complain about, take breaks and lunch when I feel like it, no one breathing down my neck, one of the highest paid contracts in my area, not too dangerous. The few times there’s been an error with being paid correctly it’s been taken care of. Obviously security officers need to get paid better overall, but we all go in knowing that. Sorry for the ones not so fortunate and have had shitty experiences.
I generally do not talk about previous employers, they all have good and bad. I retired after 20 years of being a corrections officer and have worked security since at a couple hospitals and then most recently Allied and I definitely would not recommend working for them. There is no good thing to be said about the experience I had there. Folks wouldnt show up for shifts or would chronically show up late and nothing would be done, but if you were never late and never called in somehow you were the problem The benefits are non existent, the pay is goofy at best depending on the site you work, but most of all if you a a good person, show up, do your job, you are not appreciated and given a chance to go to better paying sites, or in my case, they offer you one but then say you have to pay to work there by paying for your fingerprints and security licence which is a thing in Illinois, but they do not tell you that BEFORE you have to get those things, they just give you a bill to sign. That was the end for me. Gave my 2 weeks and left. Manipulation, it seems, is this company's modus operandi
I am starting to quit as well, because I recently switched to a new position with a data entry job with PNC command center and, Allied branch gave me a truck load of tests online that was like 6 -14 pages long and I was told I had 90 days to do the tests or I would be terminated. When I asked about this they acted as though they did not want to fully communicate with me about it. Allied Universal security is the worst experience in my life
yeah i have had 49 different jobs in my life and this is 100% the worst! I even worked for this extremely racist bigoted guy and that experience was my worst until I worked for Allied Universal. They may not be racist bigots, but some how they are worse
I worked for almost everyone. I worked in security from 2005- present. I worked for securitas, G4S, Gaurdsmark, Par Mar security and so much more. All of the security companies try every year to out bid each other so your pay was/is low anyway. You don’t get raises unless the company you work for cuts into there profits to give you one. Not all companies are bad to work for look for a mom and pop company they need you not want you. I currently work as an armed guard that’s were I have seen the money is going and they can’t get rid of you because you have 40 hours of training and no one to replace you with. I have never worked for Allied Universal Security company but I heard there horrible from other guards. If you get the right company then it’s a rewarding job if not your getting paid minimum wage and doing 20 peoples jobs with overtime. I love security but your right something has to change.
Allied is a perfect example of when a company becomes to large, and absorbs contracts that many other companies used to have. Now they’re to big and don’t care about employees , they just care about those annual contract renewals. Thats why i prefer small post that pay high , and aren’t with allied
Came across this video randomly. As someone worked with Allied for a total of 4 years and six months currently, this company is complete and utter joke. It feels like no matter the location, you're dealing with both the people of whatever site you're working at, and the higher ups. Currently back working with Allied due to no IT job wanting to hire and being ghosted by tons of jobs The job market is so dogshit, I'm not getting NO phonecalls back nor emails, feels like I'm utterly stuck
Just saw your two quitting uploads. Yes, I use to work for Allied after absorbing us from Securitas as we were LA County Contracted. We were treated better, but would still be worked to death. It made me quit. I went into Executive Protection work after quitting. Work was lucrative and took me to cool places, but even still, it's just security in another form.
As a former Site Manager for Allied.. I cant attest to a couple things. The pay not being right is COMPLETLY your site manager's job. So that's on him. The Emails not being answered that's completely true. Its months before you get a answer to anything. As for the pay issue. I spent 99.9999% of my time talking to the client and Allied to get my guys raises. I would get a raise approved on say January 1st. January 2nd I would start working on another raise. That's the way is HAS to be or you get paid shit. If you have a good Site Manager this job can be something you can do dare I say even enjoyable. You NEED a good crew and a motivated Site manager.
its the site supervisors that deal with the pay the only thing the site manager did with the time sheets was fax them to the main office and the site supervisors or the client manager would enter it in manually...every site was different in the Richmond area or the few I knew of at least. you had to call in your time on one and the call and write in a log at the other but this one was just a written timesheet .
Yes, Then there's a program called Winteam the site managers enter the time into and that effects your pay. As for every site being different thats not good......LOL@@LoversAnonymousMusic
The sad thing is. That I worked for the company back in the 90s. It was Allied / Barton, Dallas Tx. It was a decent company to work for. Bit eventually quit due to Issues within the company. I don't know what Allied security in Dallas is like. But if it's anything like what's being projected now. That's pretty bad.
These ppl at allied dont give a crap about u no communication at all ,they just through in the fire without proper training im already looking for another job
it actually depends on the regional management allowing overtime because it effects their bonus. they'll always give it to their more important sites...its the same with Walmart. Now I'm in management with Walmart. The more overtime I give out the less my bonus % is...I think each store in Walmart is lotted 50 overtime hours a week among 300 employees. I get about 2-3 as a supervisor haha
Allied Universal's ignorance of the first amendment and of people's right to record anything they can see from a public space has provided the internet with thousands of hours of entertainment. It's like they actually WANT the negative attention, and refuse to educate their employees of the law. As the first amendment auditors say, Allied Universal is the gift that just keeps giving...
Allied is too busy swallowing up other security companies that they care less about the training and care of their employees. Im an Operations Manager but tbh idk how long, im highly considering leaving to pursue something else
@@KamiiEternal I'm not sure what you mean, I didn't get to meet other Ops managers as I stepped down from that position. I meant every word when I said I'm looking to pursue something else.
I was actually sick in the hospital for a day i showed them the signed paperwork from the Doctor the supervisor were i was working still wrote me up i refused to sign they took me off the schedule
I work at a warehouse and allied provides us security. It seems from an outsiders perspective it appears they have a monopoly on security. The kind of thing that pisses me off. If you have a skill you should be able to have options in a free market. from an outsider looking in it seems to me like they are like what the smart phone is to Apple and google.
I work at Walmart now and it is less of a monopoly than Allied Universal! Literally the next largest security company in size is Securitas and it is a quarter of the size of Allied AND THAT is only if you include the 57 other countries Securitas is in. Walmart may have some questionable practices but it has left room for competition. I mean there is Kroger, HEB, Whole Foods, Albertsons, Harris Teeter, Safeway, Target. I don't think people in the security industry could even name more than 3 or 4 security companies that are current not linked or owned by AU....Allied Universal CRUSHES its competition! Literally only hurting the security guard because it is a race to the bottom on paying employees the least they can to get the cheapest contracts
@@LoversAnonymousMusic i’m still not getting paid enough, branch management is a total disaster, the communication sucks, there’s nothing professional about Allied at all
They cheated me out of 8 hours of overtime and 8 hours of regular time that was given to a friend of the supervisor. Whenever his friend wanted a shift change I would get moved and lose the hours even if I worked them. Attempted to talk to personnel but always got a busy signal and vmail/email full message. Do not work for this company they do not care about you and will oppress you. Very badly run with nepotism.
It really is one of the most useless jobs. When you can be replaced with a camera and a door stop you're quite unnecessary. Boring and I feel like my time as a security was the biggest wasted time of my life. 10 months I'll never get back
I saw your quitting video on reddit, damn dude you looked absolutely wrecked, ive done security for 8 years and never have i ever seen a guard so overworked.
thank you for acknowledging my despair haha I manage 30 people a night a walmart working 50 hours a week and i dont feel over worked cause i never have to work more than 10 hours in a day. it's the 16 hour days that wear on you. guards pulling to many doubles is what is killing the morale in the industry at least
Compared to HSS , Securitas, or some local security companies. Allied Universal, ain't that bad i worked as an armed public transit guard for them for couple years. It was ok and pay was good compared to other security companies in town. I didn't had any issues with payroll
Security work where i worked were all bullshit jobs. One site I literally just watched tv. That’s not an exaggeration, it’s all I did. Another one I just walked around a big skyscraper office building overnights. The last one I worked was so lame. Literally just standing in a warehouse. After one day on that job I bailed and decided to never work security again ever. It’s a thankless job, nobody takes you seriously as you have no real power, and your basically either invisible to people or everyone thinks you’re a loser who can’t get a “real” job.
It's sad but True man I'm doing patrol in vehicle now ,its a very active site with a ghetto ass bar nearby ,I'm already done with job your 💯 right I'm going to get a higher paying real job somewhere safer, soon not worth risking your life over a stupid job like this
hahaha yeah no where on the east cost is making near half of that an hour as supervisors and site managers even only making 15. that is what my captain was making
It's sad how we all had to find out the hard way about this company. I met some great people and coworkers but management was no good. I also feel for him because he seems like one of the good ones who might be valued by another company but he seems so discouraged. I'd recommend going armed for a small company. That's what I did and though no company is perfect, they really work with me as far a scheduling and time off. They have fired about 10 people in 3 months and we're a company of about 30 guards including supervisors and the 1 field supervisor (sergeant) we have. Even with that I have very few complaints compared with big companies. I've been working security for 7yrs and I'm on my 4th security company. This career becomes what you make of it. If truly interested, invest in training, gear, and certifications. Yes it will almost all come out of your pocket but you can make a livable wage if you have leverage. There are lot of lazy, complacent guards in this industry, so it's not hard to stand out. Just a thought
I've worked for Amazon and Walmart and Allied Universal is the most evil company I've worked for haha...I'm making 3x what I was making in security at Walmart and I manage 30 people a night. I just don't see value in the security industry. All the places that have security is more of a facade of security, and most places only have security for insurance purposes and the security is more of a secretary just greeting people and accepting packages or other remedial jobs. Especially since the pandemic I've seen more value in the grocery industry and would rather work for publix or walmart or kroger etc...
sadly no one at the site is making that. They're not even to 15 across the board and only the 3rd shift is at the $15 mark. They were only making 10-12/hr before. Allied just doesn't pay well but this is in Richmond VA and in Georgia there are security jobs paying only $9! You've gotta be in a bigger city
I worked for them for 10 months never had a problem with my pay just got tired of of covering for the same employee every other week. My site cap't tried to force me to cover for him I quit on the spot.
nah i would cover for my cap. him and his wife were fighting bc he was having to do so many doubles. so when ever the office would schedule him a double on the weekend I would take it. it was out of hand how understaffed we were. like 5 people quit and we only ever got a few to cover those positions and shifts the certain people couldn't cover so weekend 3rd were basically screwing me and the captain over
The company definitely has issues. But most of the problems are management in certain areas. We are also contractors. We have to abide by the clients rules. I work a great contract. Get paid well. But getting new people when needed. Allied never has enough officers. Terrible management in my current area. But management in my Virginia area was good.
yeah it depends a lot of the site and pay. overall with the buyouts of all the security companies and mergers the industry has been massively devalued. there are too many underpaid and under-attended to properties.
@@LoversAnonymousMusicdefinitely. Allied is about money and getting contracts. They don’t care if they have enough officers to take care of the clients. But they will also just hire anyone. It’s not a respected job anymore.
Fair play man , watching from Ireland , don’t know how this popped up but big respect . Ina way working these bad jobs is what gives us self worth , I’m sure u know people who still work there and have not stood up for themselves . Well done man , I would love to know how u doing now . Regardless of current employment , are u happier , I know I am with my smaller lower paying job , but I insist on a good environment to work now rather than wage
well I just bought a house after 3 and 1/2 years of living in a van and started working at Walmart and became a manager which is why I was able to afford a house. right now i'm not doing well...my 13 year old dog's cancer may be back. He threw up blood while I was at work over the weekend, I took him to the emergency vet on Sunday, and now he is having trouble breathing...sorry to trauma dump. the walmart gig is nice because of the pay and hours. I only work 4 nights a week now and make 3x's what I've made in the past...but I walk 15-20 miles a day and do more than most managers. I'm basically a stocker with management pay. I've been in a medical boot for the past 2 months and now I have tennis elbow haha SO I'm falling apart in short
Doesn't matter the field of work or the company you work for, or the extent of your education. People walk away from work because they know its a joke that no matter their time and effort they can't make ends meet. You prevail when you start doing for yourself. One of the worst security companies I've ever seen. I'm surprised at how big it is. Stay away from allied. They promote people that don't deserve it over other more qualified guards, and hire people in management that should not be there, including supervisors.
Bro I got fired for no reason. One of the coworkers for allied dug through my bag which has many personal information and won’t ya know, I get fired for having a firearm. Which was in pieces like taken apart, no rounds, nothing. I couldn’t fight that unfortunately. They kept accusing me of multiple things. I was like, why don’t y’all just fire me if y’all keep trying to find reasons to fire me besides that?
Has anyone who works/worked at allied have any problems with getting paid late or not paid fully? I'm supposed to start next week but I don't want to work there if I can't get overtime or paid on time
yeah no overtime and when you do work overtime not getting paid for it is very common. worst industry to be in but if you're dead set on working in security don't work for AU worst company in the world. They get sued all the time with class action lawsuits for not paying correctly. Please just don't take the job and tell them its because of my videos haha. That's like an affiliate program for me. Everyone I can save from working for this horrific company is a karma point for my next life haha
Honestly, there's so many things wrong with Allied universal security company, I can either write a book about it or make a youtube video of my own Explaining my experience and horror stories about it.
other than the payroll, every complaint falls on the client responsibility. I've had issues with payroll and always got paid with proper O.T. pay as well...if what you're saying is true, then I'd be contacting legal representation...however I'm not convinced with this video...
haha Summit just another casualty in the Allied takeover of the industry. It still exist, but it is owned by Allied now so Allied doesn't have any competition. just like since I've quit they acquired G4S...Yeah they're not trying for a monopoly. Summit could have been a good company if it had stay localized...companies especially in security need to stay small instead of merging continuously because mergers always hurt the hourly employees
I used to work for Hudson security, just as bad!! I was in shoot out at least twice a month! I worked at a produce exchange. But most of the cocaine was shipped there on pallets souronded by vegetables!! So people knew this and we were ended up being used to protect dope! I quit and they still kept contacting me because I knew the game! Produce Row in St.Louis! They ended up creating their own "security force"!😂😂😂😊
As I first read it and you said produce, I was like they're doing more than produce there if there are that manny shoot outs haha Glad you're still alive
I say the name of the site and the site manager and the client manager for allied in my other video. It was an office building and condos so it was 2 buildings connected called riverside on the James
👽Its security in general my Dude. I went through the Pandemic lockdown winter as an "Essential Worker"(Security) and the doors on the booths were blown off by wind. So 6 guards had to use our personal vehicles for heat all winter, which meant replacing all the car batteries later on...while the company got 550k in ppp money. Nothing trickled down to the Guards...but we saw Area Managers go on vacations smh.
holy shit don't even get me started on vacations hahaha so the client manager the person I'm most pissed at in the whole situation was in a fraternity in college with me and he was the client manager! he was the one putting me through all that AND THEN on my birthday the week before I was forced to work a 32 hour shift I called him to hangout and he was out of town on a camping trip! Knowing that I go camping every year on my birthday but my time off request was denied so i only got my birthday off but not the whole time and this mother effer went camping!!!
I’m at securitas critical phoenix Cleared aerospace I do patrols everyday If I can make it til the end of next month Maybe January I need better Good luck
I agree they are absolutely terrible. Have they ever thrown you on a shift last minute? Also did your managers ever not respond when you call or email them?
well yes and yes, probably the worst was a morning guy overslept and I walked to work to work 2 hours until he got there just for me to got home for a few hours and come right back in. i worked 42 shifts outside of my normal schedule in my last 2 months. unexpected doubles and people calling out and me being called to cover. my management would respond but they were incredibly demeaning and unhelpful
@@LoversAnonymousMusic yeah my manager never responded to me. She would also throw me on a schedule last minute the day of, so I would have to take pictures to prove her wrong. I had such a bad experience with AUS. Ok job but everything else is terrible, management mostly
i worked security for 7 years quit unfortunitly didnt know what i had till it was gone... got a second security job they stuck me at a methodone clinic on the eastside of buffalo fuck that havnt done security in 5 months if i didnt have a fucked up mental health record id go become a armed guard but i cant even own a gun... lifes a bitch
I had my first security guard job at delta security here in Phoenix My first paycheck bounced & I had to pay a 276$ reversal fee and in the process of filling out paper work with the labor board 2nd pay check also bounced I quit during the 1st pay period last month I just received a text message saying return the uniform or we will take you to collections for not paying for the uniform fee. The audacious behavior
I work for Allied as a Supervisor and my experience has been totally different than yours. Your upper managers bad, Not Allied. I've also ran a pretty large security company in South Florida from all aspects. I remember Supervisor or officers like yourself that complain about everything under the sun. They pay you as a Supervisor to get with your client to get the things you need fixed, fixed. Them scheduling you that many hours is ridiculous and against the law for one. But from there point of view their paying you to communicate with the client on the property and your calling them with fly problems when theyre probably dealing with several call outs, post walkoffs, etc .
don't know but they're always starved for bodies. every place I've known has been massively understaffed. idk about the criminal history or background checks
Not all companies are bad. Some do put their people first. I think advocating for higher wages with clients has direct impact on the type of people you get as officers and increases moral. At some point you need to tell the customer what they are going to get at minimum wage, verse expectations. People will immediately seek higher wages at this pay . High turnover, no show no call, the loyalty isn’t there. Just like the company has no loyalty in their people, it’s a two way street and both need to be satisfied. The going rate in my region is 20-25 an hour paid to the Officer not billed. I understand the frustration and needing to express grievances. The only thing I would suggest is avoid the middle fingers at the end even if the sentiment is clear.
because you do know that Allied Universal is the third largest employer in the US behind Amazon and WalMart...because if you're coming from another security company you don't understand how big of a problem this is and I'm happy you have a good situation but for probably half a million people in the industry are underpaid and understaffed and put into unsafe or unhealthy work conditions. If not more even
@@LoversAnonymousMusic As someone in management, I would want you come to me before it got to this point. Regional manager or higher since it sounds like you expressed your concerns at lower levels and attempted to inform your field supervisor and account manager. I can’t change what another company does but I can set a understanding that if you worked for me, I would make the time to hear you and your concerns. Making sure your guys are heard, is incredibly important with no back lash. It just has to be done in the right way. This thread is filled with new officers, hopefully they find a company that values them.
@@UniversitySecurity and I'm just warning them against Allied Universal who is monopolizing the industry. Buying out or merging with all there competitors until they have no competition. Even if I had stayed in the industry Allied Universal "acquired" the company I would have worked for, G4S. Having to many sites and to few in management is the problem and you're with another much smaller security company so of course you're not having these problems. The client manager was someone I considered a friend but when I started voicing these problems he basically told me to suck it up and thats what I'm getting from other people's experiences with Allied Universal so not your company. What does it say in the thumbnail? DO NOT WORK FOR ALLIED UNIVERSAL
I started working as a guard in 92. Worked average 100 hour weeks, at $5.00 an hour. Armed guard $5.95 hour. Is what it is. I worked for a company that didn't pay on payday and took a year to get my last check. Training? I made the best of every post I could, just deal with it.
i did deal with it...and if what I'm hearing is correct you chose to work the 100hr a week...i was forced to work 32 hours straight, that is a big difference.
Sometimes you have to walk away, it will definitely get someone's attention. I did that on a Saturday morning when my relief didn't come , no surprise, 18 janitors stood around for 5 hours till someone came with keys to let them in. I didn't hear a peep from management.
let me know how it turns out...hopefully you end up at a good site. location, location, location...where you're at and its cleanliness, safety, pay, and team determines your satisfaction. where its not miserable...in other words I hope you get a good spot...but if you start seeing red flags get out while you can.
@@LoversAnonymousMusic I don't understand US is richest nation why in whole North America pay rates are pebbles? Am regretting moving to Canada. Thing I noticed management/admin level jobs in US, Canada, Australia wages are pretty similar not much difference. But security guard, gas station clerk, retail, delivery driver, warehouse packers these unskilled labor jobs Australia pays way better than North America. I think here these top position people making good bonuses by paying us pebbles.
@@spawn11 oh yeah no most of the US is a third world country. it is just funny the level of pay jump for positions. such a hierarchy to keep people beneath the company's boot. The company pays it's guards 25k-50k at best per year and pay a few people in each area 6 figures just so the owner and stock holders can take home 7 and 8 figures respectively each year haha
@@LoversAnonymousMusic they just pay us enough so we can eat not save. Without savings we cannot bargain with employers cause we can't afford to stay without work for long. That's the game we're being played with
I want to ruin this company bc of how bad my experience was...they didn't pay a lot of my over time and worked me crazy amounts and just how low they were paying
Sometimes people like you need to stand up for the beliefs that your country was built on. Sad to say America's reputation is falling. Good on you... Kia Kaha !!! Western Australia.
I have to say. I understand your situation. Just leave go into something else. Their are a lot of security companies corporate hotel etc that are good. You just with a sht company which is by the way the largest company if them all. Just go dude. I hear ya you quit. Good luck.
what do you not understand? the bad situation is so bad and so common that is why I am warning people. I've probably stop hundreds of people from working for this company and proud of it! also i did get out of it and that's why the video is called I Quit! haha and I'm in a much better situation. bought a house and i have more money than I've ever had. But right when I got to the top of the mountain and felt on top of the world my 13 yr old dog died...but as Vonnegut said so it goes...
I see your in FL(former FL resident). If you're able to, get your G License as well if you have a clean background. D license will help you get your foot in the door. However unarmed Security work is going to have you doing a lot of "other" job duties that has nothing to do with Security. That's why I say get your G as well. Stay away from Allied Universal and Securitas.
@@jim2268 As someone that worked Security armed and unarmed jobs for close to 9yrs apply to those jobs when you get your G-license regardless of your experience. 98% of the time your firearm is going to sit in your holster unless you're extremely reckless. Take a class (MOAB) that focuses on defusing tense situations. It will do you a lot of good in the long run vs how quickly you can draw and how accurately you shoot your firearm. 95% of armed Security is basically being a scarecrow or a cardboard Napoleon. The moment you discharge your firearm whether it's justified or not, the company will attempt to drop you like a hot potato and look for anyway to accuse you of not following company policy. So yeah, focus heavily on your verbal Judo skills. If you like Security as a career focus on getting on board with the Federal Security contractors. 2 companies I know of in FL are Paragon and Triple Canopy.
well you're an outlier bc that is not common....your area client manager probably isn't a piece of shit. the corporate office allows and has control over the pay. my situation basically the main office hardly ever worked, took ridiculous amounts of vacations, and then wouldn't allow over time to maximize on their bonuses.
If you're friends with management you can get away with anything if not you will get screwed.
In Melbourne, Australia I make 29 AU$ per hour very clean office. I wonder whats the pay rate in US??
You stayed for a decade but still complaining 🫠😂
Nice promote them to supervisor 😂
QUESTION
Why would Allied schedule a phone interview and then never call?
Thanks for quitting
I've sat waiting for my relief and no one showed up and no one called to tell me no one was coming when they knew they weren't. They didn't have the balls to tell me they were fucking me over and forcing me to work a 16-hour shift. They said that someone was coming after I called them 15 minutes after my shift ended. After a couple hours with no one showing up I called them back and told them I knew that no one was coming and that I was leaving my post. I closed up shop and went home. I don't play that crap.
@@saxon1177 Did they try to fire you?
@@nicholasgranados4706 No, because the client gave a shit about me and stood up for me. He said there was hardly anyone coming through that gate (gated community) anyway, so it was no big deal to close it up and hang a sign instructing people to go to the other gate.
I worked for this joke of a company. That’s exactly what it is- a joke.
a very unfunny joke...i was crying more than laughing 😢 ha
The managers get secret bonus checks if they keep the overtime down. You can put in extra hours one day but they take them away the next by telling you not to come in. But a manager gets extra money for simply making that happen. No extra work done on his part. That's just underhanded, cheap, and dishonest. They let you think you're going to get extra hours (OT) and then take it away.
Most of these, Corporate America companies are all the same. Go private security. Your treated like a person not a number!
I agree. One of the worst companies to work for.
Thats a lie. They’re not a bad company. You have to do your job and stop being a lazy shyt lol
Honestly I've been working for AUS for 2+ years and have loved it. I think it all depends on the site you are at.
Yup. The work environment is what gets everybody to quit.
I'm a retired law enforcement officer. I have been working the same post for AUS part time for a few years. They have always been very good to me and the crew at our location. Some guards come and go but it's always because they screwed up by drinking on the job, not showing up or worse.
Did someone pay you to say all this bad thing about Allied Universal Security?
@@MakiKelo
No.
Yes I work for allied and it all depends on the site and your supervisors you get put with.Feel bad for others who have been put with bad coworkers
It depends

I applied for a full time swing shift and now have been doing this part time bullshit job that was never in the description of the job. I was told that when I applied to be a patrol driver that they’re All filled so I got put to be a gate attendant.
I didn’t complain because I was homeless at the time but now I’m seeing that they’re using that against me and taking advantage of my situation considering that I was told that they needed more patrol drivers for swing and morning and that they’re understaffed meanwhile I’m seeing new people being trained and schedule for work for full time jobs here
And I’m just a fuccin stepping stone for them.
I talked to the boss and she said just send me your driving record and we’ll get you scheduled so I’m waiting for that to come in but today I just simply had enough of their bullshit it’s quite obvious they want me to quit by them consistently starring at me when I come in to clock in for work and giggling like school girls and the guy that hired me told me last week he’d talk to me about being a patrol driver Saturday… never was brought up
I came in a minute late today and they’re having a field day with that shit but meanwhile other mfs come in late and nothing is being said hell even supervisors came in late for their shift I wanna see when they’re getting written up because I don’t..
They renewed the contract with the company/client back in February and we were told that a raise was going to happen, shit still never happened 😂
It’s some urban legend at this point that they need to discuss the pay raise which is just more bullshit.
I can totally relate with the fly situation
The mosquitoes are a mf to deal with at night and of course our post are dirty af it’s ridiculous especially since we work in a upper class community.
Its hard to find a job that pays well so I’m just hoping that we’d get a raise but I’m pretty sure the client only hired them so they can pay us shit.
Old ass computers that lag, the gate arms are always malfunctioning, radios are garbage af, it’s a joke
The amount of people who quit this job and people they fire for the dumbest shit is astounding. I’m surprised there’s no investigation going on , on why so many people keep leaving.
I’m still in transitional housing I can barley afford that, I’m just going to stay until I find something better
So not worth my mental health.
I tried some companies before finding global Security. Supervisors and fellow employees all professional mostly retired LEO. Highly recommend them
Allied hiring guy acted like i had the brain of a two year old when he reviewed my application and saw i put "autism" on the section asking about disabilities
1man sites are the best
I have one foot out the door with Allied Universal. I just got hired by Reel Security, but no regular from them so far
I generally do not talk about previous employers, they all have good and bad. I retired after 20 years of being a corrections officer and have worked security since at a couple hospitals and then most recently Allied and I definitely would not recommend working for them. There is no good thing to be said about the experience I had there. Folks wouldnt show up for shifts or would chronically show up late and nothing would be done, but if you were never late and never called in somehow you were the problem
The benefits are non existent, the pay is goofy at best depending on the site you work, but most of all if you a a good person, show up, do your job, you are not appreciated and given a chance to go to better paying sites, or in my case, they offer you one but then say you have to pay to work there by paying for your fingerprints and security licence which is a thing in Illinois, but they do not tell you that BEFORE you have to get those things, they just give you a bill to sign.
That was the end for me. Gave my 2 weeks and left. Manipulation, it seems, is this company's modus operandi
yeah that's why i want these videos up to detour other people from working for AU. I don't have anything good to say about my experience.
I can relate to that.
They mostly hire the unprofessional , i hate dealing with them at work everyday. Its good most of you quit, thank you and keep up the good work
I was supposed to work at Allied but my Asset Protection Manager talked me out of it. Best thing ever.
Allied Universal security is the worst experience in my life
I use to work for them I had to worst experience I only lasted 8 months never again worst company ever
yeah i have had 49 different jobs in my life and this is 100% the worst! I even worked for this extremely racist bigoted guy and that experience was my worst until I worked for Allied Universal. They may not be racist bigots, but some how they are worse
@@LoversAnonymousMusic I applied with inter-con security so much better well respected I have a good post pays good
I worked for almost everyone.
Currently back working with Allied due to no IT job wanting to hire and being ghosted by tons of jobs
The job market is so dogshit, I'm not getting NO phonecalls back nor emails, feels like I'm utterly stuck
i hope you have better luck. i know it might be cliche but there's always something better around the corner....usually......MANY MANY corners down
I’ve worked for Securitas for almost a year and they’re the exact same
Just saw your two quitting uploads.
They were hiring in my area and I thought about it. I quickly remembered the audit videos I’ve watched and changed my mind immediately!!
12$ an hr ??? In nyc you get 19$ minimum doing security… I’m sorry this happened to you smh
Good luck man and check out all the labor laws in the state you live.. See if they broke any labor laws... You may be surprised what you find
it's been over 2 years since i quit and i've already talk to my old friend with the department of labor in DC and this was in Virginia 😕
I don’t think he cares lol 😂
I WORK FOR SECURITAS AND ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MANAGEMENT BRO
Probably depends what state I can work everyday if I wanted to at my location I get plenty of OT
it actually depends on the regional management allowing overtime because it effects their bonus. they'll always give it to their more important sites...its the same with Walmart. Now I'm in management with Walmart. The more overtime I give out the less my bonus % is...I think each store in Walmart is lotted 50 overtime hours a week among 300 employees. I get about 2-3 as a supervisor haha
I quit my jobasa security gurd after7 years biggest mistake ive ever made i nowwork as a janitor and literally hate my life so much more
Allied Universal's ignorance of the first amendment and of people's right to record anything they can see from a public space has provided the internet with thousands of hours of entertainment.
Why are ops managers always under the influence? Just a genuine question
@@KamiiEternal I'm not sure what you mean, I didn't get to meet other Ops managers as I stepped down from that position. I meant every word when I said I'm looking to pursue something else.
That company sounds disgusting to say the least. Smh
I was actually sick in the hospital for a day i showed them the signed paperwork from the Doctor the supervisor were i was working still wrote me up i refused to sign they took me off the schedule
Worst company I’ve ever worked for by far they are refusing to provide me with my paystubs
I’m a current employee, I’ve been trying to get out but I’m not getting any luck hopefully I can get out of this bullshit company soon.
yeah i just had to quit...I wasn't able to hold on any longer
@@LoversAnonymousMusic i’m still not getting paid enough, branch management is a total disaster, the communication sucks, there’s nothing professional about Allied at all
I’ve worked for some crappy small companies but have to say Allied was the worse!
I worked for a lot of crappy small companies too, but Allied beats them all by a mile and then some
They cheated me out of 8 hours of overtime and 8 hours of regular time that was given to a friend of the supervisor. Whenever his friend wanted a shift change I would get moved and lose the hours even if I worked them. Attempted to talk to personnel but always got a busy signal and vmail/email full message. Do not work for this company they do not care about you and will oppress you. Very badly run with nepotism.
yeah this company is a POS
Plus they said I was required to sign a form saying I was paid for all hours or I would not receive my last pay check. 🤬
You know that's illegal.
Bring a security guard period is trash, never again in my life time he was nice to give them 2 weeks.
You know what really sucks being overworked and still receiving little money on your paycheck.
Compared to HSS , Securitas, or some local security companies. Allied Universal, ain't that bad i worked as an armed public transit guard for them for couple years. It was ok and pay was good compared to other security companies in town. I didn't had any issues with payroll
Be strong! Better times to come! 💪
It's sad but True man I'm doing patrol in vehicle now ,its a very active site with a ghetto ass bar nearby ,I'm already done with job your 💯 right I'm going to get a higher paying real job somewhere safer, soon not worth risking your life over a stupid job like this
Shift manager here is small town in Cali making 28 an hour at hospital with Allied. I guess the work depends on site and pay.
hahaha yeah no where on the east cost is making near half of that an hour as supervisors and site managers even only making 15. that is what my captain was making
@@LoversAnonymousMusic I am surprised too. It's just one site. All the other sites are like $18-20 an hour
I lost a glove and they had to have a meeting with me and almost gave me a write up smh 🤦♂️
The minimum wage as of 2023 should be 20$ an hour for any company with 13 staff members or more.
That's just to keep up with inflation btw.
sadly no one at the site is making that.
It’s not a respected job anymore.

well I just bought a house after 3 and 1/2 years of living in a van and started working at Walmart and became a manager which is why I was able to afford a house. right now i'm not doing well...my 13 year old dog's cancer may be back.
Find a way to grow/breed your own renewable food supply. Something you can sell at farmers market and start somewhere with something that interest you. Work with your local community with friends and family
I was injured two times on the job and still have the medical bill and I quit 2years ago do to mental break down
other than the payroll, every complaint falls on the client responsibility. I've had issues with payroll and always got paid with proper O.T. pay as well...if what you're saying is true, then I'd be contacting legal representation...however I'm not convinced with this video...
I worked for summit back in the day....that company was a joke.... horrible..... terrible management.
haha Summit just another casualty in the Allied takeover of the industry.

So 6 guards had to use our personal vehicles for heat all winter, which meant replacing all the car batteries later on...while the company got 550k in ppp money. holy shit don't even get me started on vacations hahaha so the client manager the person I'm most pissed at in the whole situation was in a fraternity in college with me and he was the client manager! he was the one putting me through all that AND THEN on my birthday the week before I was forced to work a 32 hour shift I called him to hangout and he was out of town on a camping trip!

Sometimes people like you need to stand up for the beliefs that your country was built on. Sad to say America's reputation is falling. Good on you... Kia Kaha !!! Western Australia.
Oh it fell a long time ago :( Thank you for the encouragement.
Everyone deserves at least minimum wage
Going for class D license in a week, any advice? Is it hard to get interviews or offers?
i have no clue what class d is...all i can say is don't work for allied universal, you will regret it
@@LoversAnonymousMusic class D unarmed license
I see your in FL(former FL resident). If you're able to, get your G License as well if you have a clean background. D license will help you get your foot in the door. However unarmed Security work is going to have you doing a lot of "other" job duties that has nothing to do with Security. That's why I say get your G as well.
Stay away from Allied Universal and Securitas.
@@nicholasevans9627 yea I hear armed jobs pay more as well a lot of job postings in my area say they want experience though
Hey, Elmendorf, I watched your original video with you talking about this.
I got fired for denting a car.
I am working in this company almost two years , I making OT every paycheck and all staff is very good
well you're an outlier bc that is not common....your area client manager probably isn't a piece of shit. the corporate office allows and has control over the pay. my situation basically the main office hardly ever worked, took ridiculous amounts of vacations, and then wouldn't allow over time to maximize on their bonuses.
@@LoversAnonymousMusic you right I am working in government sites may be that’s why
Armed security is the way to go unarmed gets treated like garbage
This must be an old video cause the pay is more then that.
