1 of the best ever undoubtedly but THE best??? There are alot of classic 5-star JRPGs out there dude that can all lay claim to being the best ever just as easily as Chrono Trigger can. Final Fantasy 4 is my personal favorite JRPG👍

FF4 is the one that started it all for me, the first FF game I ever played & the game that made me a lifelong FF fan. Despite being the 4th game in the series, FF4 is the game that firmly established many of the series' biggest signatures that would be used in the series from that point on & laid the very foundation for FF to evolve into the legendary franchise that it is today: Timeless soundtrack, unforgettable characters, epic plot, larger than life world and addictive gameplay. FF4 created the very blueprint for the FF formula & led the way for all future games in the series like FF6, FF7 & FF9 to name a few to perfect that very formula.
You can clearly tell it's Toriyama if you look close enough. The first enemy you fight looks exactly like a small Namekian. The sharp shading on Chrono's hair (sprite) is also very similar to a super saiyan. To me, the dead giveaway is the machines. Toriyama has a very distinct way of drawing machines, robots and vehicles that's instantly recognizable. It truly is a beautiful game.
Don't tell anyone!...I was on the verge of tears after watching this. I thought of all my childhood memories of playing this game over and over, all the friendships they forged and the eras they've traveled, destroying Lavos and saving the world, and I had to hold back the waterworks. Oh Chrono Trigger, I will never forget you.
I don't know why, but every time that i listen this song and " to far away times", i feel the same of You, meaby is for the beginning and the end of this experience, but the memories still intact

when i was the complicated emo kid rejected by everyone at school, this game was my haven until i was able to sort out just how stupid kids can be. Thankyou Chrono Trigger for being my escape.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had games like to cope and get through the tough times. I'm currently writing a book about how video games can do that, so it's great to read comments like this that reassure me that I'm not just talking out of my ass here. :)

I absolutely love Chrono Trigger, and I would just like to add something about my other two favorite game series; Resident Evil/Biohazard is about having a strong desire to live, and Silent Hill is about redemption, at least to me that's what they're about.
I like to believe Chrono Cross never happened and Chrono and the team lived happily ever without ever having to deal with any more conflicts aside from Marle and her father. I mean, seriously? Why should I believe that Lucca was killed off, Johnny was left in the dust in the middle of Lavos' attack and Chrono and Marle were killed in a war? Heroes never die. If anything, peace was restored for all timelines and Lavos took a more humanoid form known as Cell and that's when Goku's journey begins.
Corrin I also hate that it follows the trope of killing characters to continue the plot for another character to suddenly overcome a stronger enemy. I wish Chrono let them all live in their timeline an all hell an chaos happen in another timeline which later affected cross (without Lucca dying). Perhaps lucca & kid could have been attacked but killed someone close to them (I see problem there). I love both trigger & cross. There need to be 3rd installment but time & dimensions are already used.

The world dimension has two meaning. One due to the multiverse theory, and the other as in first dimensional, second dimension, 3rd dimension, etc.
Andres Marrero there wasn’t much mentioned about the 3rd dimension very true,and serge’s home dimension is where Lucca was not attacked by Lynx/Fate/Kazuki,however the Porre Army still takes over and kills Crono and friends. In the home & another dimensions,the trigger characters are killed off. However there still is the 3rd dimension but the dimension distortions were fixed after serge and friends defeated Lavos with Kid inside it. The 3rd dimension would need two conditions in order to allow a continuation for the trigger characters alone 1. Trigger friends needed to defeat the Porre Army or survive if lost 2. There would need to be a way to unbalance the dimensions (i.e.,something not from that dimension needs to be present) and then head to a location where the distortions take place at a single point (I.e.,Opassa Beach). Given that the 6 dragons + Harle were formed and created the geography from fate,once all were vanquished,the world remained as Gaea jungle and El Nido. No other landmass was real. They were dreams of time (think of it as the fayth dreaming in FF10). In the 3rd dimension,fate would need to be successful in saving humanity but this causes serge to remain in lynx’s body (which also implies Kid finds and saves serge at the cliff). Only then would the dimensions could become distorted again and the trigger cast could travel to the future in 2400 A.D.,meet Serge as Lynx (and May possibly meet Magus as Guile) and undo all the chaos which stemmed from the home dimension.
When they are in the bridge and the thunders sound goosebumps come all over, like if they were tired with low hopes of winning and all of the sudden they launch their final strike!
30dynamo shame that scenario would never work, because Crono and the gang hadn't reunited with Frog yet as he lives on the Southern Continent, past Zenan Bridge, which is guarded by Zombor.

i fist played the game in the psx version, and the first time i saw this opening, i said "oh, all the characters are already introduced at the start? cool", and played the game,finished the game, and moved on to another game. Now that see it all over again, i think of their friendship, all of their adventures, all of the wonderful and not so wonderful times that they travelled, it makes wanna cry manly tears.... I love this game.

The amount of pure information in this opening is outstanding. Chrono trigger will remain a classic that time will never forget.
Best part is from 2:17 to 2:36. Kick ass teamwork and those iconic dragon ball sounds.
