This is the OVA made for the game Chrono Trigger.
To answer some questions:
Akira Toriyama (The guy that made Dragon Ball) worked on this.
This video has, as far as I know, has only Japanese voicework.
There is no sequel to this, it is a promotional OVA, and had no commercial release.

If I had to fight THIS version of Gato/Gonzales at the Millennium Fair, I would just have quit the game after only 10 minutes!
It would fun in new game plus
Just goes to show how powerful the heroes are in Chrono Trigger. Heck, by the end when fighting Lavos, he rains down the same death and destruction upon them that wiped out the planet, and all it does is leave them with a few booboos that are easily fixed with a simple cure spell.
@@gurvmlk yeah... you have to try hard to wipe during the lavos encounter in zeal, in a NG+ also.

Lavos question: is it your goal to comment on every video that’s Chrono trigger related?
Thus OVA actually has virtually nothing to do with the game; it's just a screwball comedy that was evidently made to drum up attention to the game back when it was still either new or about to be released.
The OVA just reuses some characters from the game (and the "main" characters are in fact minor enemies) in a completely different context for laughs.
They totally LARP the Chrono Trigger story during the credits.

What does that even mean? If someone mentions a video in their video, it’s pretty damn obvious that the video in question would get a surge of views and comments, no matter how old it is. Don’t go all conspiracy theorist and ask stupid questions like that.
They just push what they want on people. I only clicked out of curiosity but I didn’t even know this existed or know anyone talked about this video.
It's honestly such a wasted opportunity to not make a full fledged mini series of one of the greatest games ever.

Whoever found this video i commend you for finding such a rare treasure. those two monsters are such trouble makers and Chrno and Lucca make a cameo in the end, sweet.
I love how out of all the Nuu, that this one stands out. He has optimism, and instead of frowning, like the ones in the actual game, he is actually smiling, and enjoying himself, at the fair. I don't see him as a dumb Nuu, but a blissful, happy Nuu. I also find it funny that @ around 8:53 he pops out of the fountain water, in a female cosplay, and make-up, out of nowhere! xD
I think that was to be Ayla cosplay! It's a blond wig with kissy lipstick, so not sure what else it could be referencing.
@@v101damnations You know, looking at it again, it does seem that way. For a sec I thought it was supposed to be Marle, but Ayla makes more sense with the hairstyle, and the fact that Nu were more common in the Prehistoric....and only come out when there was raining or people were gettign wet.

Personally, I enjoyed seeing this (many years after first playing Chrono Trigger, BTW)! I was hoping for more, but it was cool seeing so many familiar characters (though enemies) in their own version of the Millenial Fair! And I found the cartoon antics of the protagonists hilarious! Too bad for poor Johnny, and for Gato/Gonzalez... looks like he had one heck of a hangover from partying all night! :-P
I also thought the pictures at the end were hilarious, showing the Nuu and the Kilwala in place of important figures throughout the game... especially the Nuu as Lavos!!! :-D

There's another Toriyama based OVA of the Dragon Quest series from the late 80's when Dragon Quest 3 came out that was like 20 something episodes long called Legend of the Hero Abel.

This actually isn't bad, its genuinely funny and charming. Its pretty odd, but I dig it. Love how Nu was voiced as well. It's interesting to see a monster version of the festival

ok now that I watched this movie with more of an open mind I have to say that I absolutely love it. It was so charming and funny and dumb -in a good way this time- that I couldn't help but laugh. and that bit with the snes controller was too much.
