Last time some fans tried to made a fan-made modern graphics version of Chrono Trigger, they got cease and desisted. Damn Square Enix.

Probably they took it down because they want to do it by theirselfs. Square Enix is not taking anything down without a reason.
Dragon Quest VII Fan translations were took down too! And now we have a release for the game.
Chrono Trigger is a game that deserves to have a sequel to it in PS4. It is one of the greatest video games of all time and one of the best rpg's in history.

I think we both know what happens when we ask for years for something dear to us to be remade. Only to have it disappoint in ways we hadn't anticipated possible. Unfortunately we need a real fan to lead the team that does understand us and what we want, alongside original talent.
@@TheDrakorSynn not a fan. We absolutely need the original creative team. It would be complicated, if not downright impossible to get them all though, given their current company affiliations and workloads.
I have the utmost respect for the awesome people behind this video, liked and favorited for sure.
But honestly, this video showed me how amazing Chrono Trigger's graphics already are.
While watching it, I often thought to myself "wow, this looks just like the game"!
It's astonishing how Squaresoft were able to make this masterpiece back in 1995

chrono trigger, nearly 20 years old and i still love it like the day it came out... my passion for games all started here... i would not be the game developer i am today without this game in my life... the music is so powerful and cries out songs of the past that run emotionally deep... only if we could relive this game in todays time with all the music as it originally was done by the full orchestra peaces left in tact... yes my friends, this music is good because it was done by an actual composer with an orchestra at his fingertips... now imagine playing this game in todays time with nothing left out and hearing those masterpieces left in tact with todays top of the line graphics but the overall art style left in tact... what an experience that would be...

I agree, but with low poly characters instead of filtered sprites.
The main character sprites look a little funny but overall, this is a gorgeous reproduction. That title sequence specifically gave me shivers. Wonderful job!

***** Of all of the remakes I've ever wanted from childhood games made by square; nothing else really deserves a full on effort but FF7, FF6 and this. Really well done, sir. Those 2D sprites were on point. If the artists from the recent DBZ Budokai series could do the characters, (maybe the cell shading, but I like how you have it with picturesque backgrounds) we will have an absolute far and away, winner.

So, this I don't remember cost sorry, I remember this I think $80 Chrono Trigger snes and PSX was $40 added movies and alt-end.
If this need Chrono Trigger remaster with add special edition with collection complete cost $70-$100. Like my Chrono Trigger special edition alright more cool. I will buy collection next time it!

I have always wanted to see a well-detailed, 3D remake of CT since childhood! This is really cool! I always imagined it to be more similar to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which at the time didn't exist, but when I saw BOTW, _that_ was like what I imagined in my head all these years for CT.

This seriously almost made me cry T^T Chrono Trigger is my absolute FAVORITE game ever and you really did such a great job. If there ever was a remake I'd want it to be like this! the slight 3D effect while still keeping the original 2D-esque feel. LOVE THIS so much and I'm sharing it with my other CT-lover friends!

I'm glad you redid the timing on some of the weapon impacts to coincide with the music. The race was especially cool.

ive seen alot of remakes and especially music remakes, finally somebody got the music right! nice one!
im glad i got to play these games, because people today have no idea what we had in terms of games, even if it was remade ii doubt anyone would get it like we did the first time around. same goes for ff7. im sure it will be good but no like we had it.
I started watching hoping this didn't get screwed up because Chrono Trigger is my 2nd favorite title on the SNES of all time.. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed at all. Keep up the amazing work !

This is beyond any doubt a great remake. Combining 3D with 2D, or 2.5 D, is epic. I really hope Square Enix will make such a remake for this game and release it on PC Steam, PS4 and XBOX ONE.

Actually the guy who made Chrono Trigger is the same guy who made Dragon Quest. That's not the point though. Squaresoft and Enix had very different design styles.

There was more than a "guy" who made Chrono Trigger.... it was the "Dream Team": Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Square's Final Fantasy series; Yuji Horii, a freelance designer and creator of Enix's popular Dragon Quest series; and Akira Toriyama, a freelance manga artist famed for his work with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball. Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game, Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring remaining tracks to Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.

What is Square's deal, anyway? They won't remake FFVII, they won't remake Chrono Trigger, it's like they hate money.

@@leonoliveira8652 Develoment time. What you don't see is how much is going on behind the curtains. Square Enix has several teams each working on a wide variety of projects at any one time. Most of these aren't public information, but will be when development reaches a certain point. Been this way for decades. Just keep waiting, asking politely, and voting with your wallet.

You know, this is how the steam re-release of chrono trigger should've been (with better sprites of course). But nooo. Instead, Square Enix lazily ported the mobile version to steam just so they can say the "we heard, and we care about our loyal fans request" to fans of the game

rickonami If they were to do a *new* mobile version of this game, this is how it would look, it has a lot of similarities to the Final Fantasy 5 and 6 remasters, but unlike the Final Fantasy 6 mobile version which betrayed the aesthetic of the original SNES version, this goes well with the Chrono Trigger style.
This is a complete indicator that Square-Enix needs to remake this game. Absolutely beautiful work. Gave me chills. Liked and subscribed. Thank you so much.
