I use that square on the job a lot...
Its getting banged up but, its a workhorse
Cost £130 quid in UK (approx 150 bucks)…its a lot, and I do have other tri-squares and framing squares, but if I want to be sure of that 90 deg, or need to get a longer layout line by setting say, a one metre straight edge along the blade - then the 1281 ensures square means square. I use it to check my other reference tools too, like mitre gauges etc. Even over three feet, the line will be right to within three thou at the far end - more than good enough for woodworking..
The only odd thing I don’t like is those pressed in steel dowels in the foot, protrude for no apparent reason, on one side. Why?
