I've had my Steiner 7x50 for manyt years. I had to replace the compass once. Steiner send me a replacement and they als sent me the upgradcd lens covers that fit internall versus the original ones that slid on externally. I'd also recommend getting the ADRs (Kill Flash) if you want to remain stealthy while using your binocs. Any aftermarket ADRs made for the M22 spec binocs will fit the Steiner 7x50. Tne optics and the durbaility of these binoculars are outstanding.
Steiner is the only company I buy binoculars from regardless of other prices or features. I’ve always found my Military/Marine and Police models to be beyond expectations.
I have an old 1980 Steiner M1580 that was passed down from my grandfather, i love it to bits, i use it for everything from landscaping to planetary observations to boating.
Just got my Military & Marine today. I reallky love the German look and feel. I currently have Nikon 10X50 Extremes but I find that these fit my eyes better without having to modulate then up and down. They seem brighter as well after just one day.
There is a fujinon fmtr 7x50 binoculars which are not inferior, except for a field of view of 130 vs 145, but they are also twice as cheap. The image of the fujinon fmtr is bright, contrasty, clear, without loss of detail. Good glare protection. Hermetically sealed and reliable. I have been using it for three years. It is in my car and with me in the boat on the Volga River. I do not see the point in overpaying :) in Russia fujinon fmtr 7x50 700-850 $ Steiner Commander 7x50 1400-1700 $
Was excited to find this review. Puzzled by your description (5 times I think) about these glasses being of roof prism design. My understanding, and according to Steiner's website, these glasses are of porro prism design. Please enlighten me.
The strange strap fittings have been replaced on military versions with normal hoops, they proved to be far too unreliable for robust use. Both the US and German army declined to buy further examples until the fault was rectified. They are expensive if dropped so go for the military version with normal hoops, if you can get one.

100% korrect- and Fujinon FMT-SX is by far superior in its Optic compared to any Steiner!

We sincerely apologize for our mistake. Yes, you're right - these are indeed of the Porro prism design.

2:30 That's strange; the way you pronounce "Porro" is funny, you make it sound like "roof".
Steiner binoculars are of good quality,
I used to be satisfied with it

Nice video👍

Where can I put the adapter for a tripod?
