I love that infusable ink is flush and washable! No more worrying about vinyl peeling off. Thanks for testing the mini for us, now we know the press is best.
So thankful for this video!!! I am new to infusible inks and just got a mug press. I watched another video and said 400 for 60 seconds with the mug press and it turned out awful! So, I found your video and it worked!!! Definitely the 180 seconds at 400 degrees!! My mug turned out beautiful with this technique!!! Thank you for your video!!
Absolutely awesome !!! This is a game changer for me. I've been wanting something that is permanent on mugs and this is it!!! My husband might not be so excited when I tell him I want a mug press though. 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much for sharing all the tips to create a beautiful mug!!! Love this video!!💗💗💗
Thank you for this video! I just bought a heat press but I don't have a sublimation printer yet (not in the budget right now!). I was trying to figure out how I can do sublimation without a sub printer and you just answered that question for me - yay!
I really appreciate you taking the time to do this comparison video. I just bought the easy press mini thinking I might be able to do mugs and after watching this I know I can’t. Thank you!!
I'm not sure why this video flagged all the comments as spam, so I am just seeing them now! You can use the mini easypress with htv on a mug, however I recommend permanent vinyl over HTV for mugs!
I'm so excited I found your channel from watching Makers Gonna Make!! Actually just found Tanner too, super excited to have a consistent place to go and learn more about my machine. Thanks!!
I actually was able to apply Infusible Ink onto a stainless steel tumbler using my Mini Press, it literally took me about 8 hours to complete as each area I pressed on high for 2:45 and it was a full wrap around. It was a true labor of love lol, but I wanted to see if it would really work or not.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I really want the mug press now! And I, like you, feel it could work with Mini Press with more time in sections :)
The easypress mini will work for infusible ink, but the transfer must be consistent heat on the entire item. The press should cover the whole design for any infusible ink project.
It will absolutely work for infusible ink on shirts, stuffed animals, bags, but it will not work on mugs. When I worked at Cricut, it was tested a bunch and unfortunate when it didn't work. I recommend the easypress mini for so many other things, just not this 1 use case scenario.
We already knew from you using the mug press that it works on the infusible ink. It would have been helpful if you spent more time, in two minute sections, to see if the mini could have eventually achieve results.
I actually worked at cricut and knew it wouldn’t work before I filmed this video. I had just left cricut and didn’t want to make it sound like a bad product because it’s not. This is just not something that is can do. I wanted to make sure people didn’t buy it thinking it would work. Hope that clarifies :)
Hello, I love you video. I’m having a hard time setting my mug pressor. If you don’t mind. Can you explain in a video how to set your mug pressor? Thanks
It works great on several projects! I just don't recommend it for this one use case. I used infusible ink on a stuffed animal with it and it transferred perfectly.
Marley, great video. I have to say one of the things I struggle with is all the different products, vinyls, etc out there, sometimes its a bit confusing on which product to use for which item, shirt, etc. I am glad you answered one of my main questions "can it go to the microwave?" Tks. The product you used was infusable ink? Correct? Was this a Cricut product? Or from where. Again great video.
Karley!.. thank you so much for the tutorial!.. I recommend the mugs I ordered from your link it come safely good package! Love the quality! Thank you again!..God bless you!.. great job!😃🤗💝
Not sure if this is even possible but could you tape it as usual and put the mug in the oven for a few minutes? Sounds silly I know but if the heat is high on the mug press then I’m thinking the oven would work quite well? I’m looking at starting up an Etsy shop later this year and looking into the different things the circuit can do 😊 looks awesome though!!!!
Yes- this will work, but you should not use the oven you cook with! The gas will coat your oven and then cool back into an ink. Each time you hear your oven, the ink will turn into a gas and coat your food. A lot of people use a convection toaster oven dedicated to sublimation with a mug wrap :)
Hi Karley, can I put the mug back in the mug press to add another colour say on top off and around the black to produce a two coloured logo? Very new to this only got my Cricut machine last week. Thanks for the videos.
I've done sublimation in the past. Those inks do have an issue with UV lights, so might be cautious about leaving out in the sunlight-FYI. Wonder if a heat gun would have worked on the bottom?? Also with sublimation you can buy mug wraps and put them in an oven.
I don’t recommend using a mug wrap in an oven you cook in. But I have used a mug wrap in a convection over specifically designated for sublimation. I haven’t seen an issue with any UV wear and tear with any of my sublimation projects. We made a garden flag on a sublimation blank and it did not fade. I’ll have to look into that and see what other people have experienced! Thanks for the heads up!
Question for you. I am is Etched cream on beer mugs. Looks great but I want to ink it to be more opaque like adding color ink to it but will not wash off. Any ideas?
I don’t recommend using an oven you cook in, but if you buy a convection toaster oven that you don’t plan to cook in, yes! You’ll just need to buy a mug wrap :)
Yes! You can! Secure it down with either a mug wrap, shrink wrap, or tape. Make sure it’s a convection oven. You’ll need to bake it for around 10-12 minutes depending on the oven :)
Do you think infusible ink with the mini and the shrink wrappers would work? Excellent tips and tutorial. Thank you. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
I tried the 3 minutes and it seemed to have imprinted the transfer sheet also onto the mug, not sure what happened :( there was yellow lines and also the cricut infusible ink logo shows on the mug.
Dose infusable ink works only on ceramic ? Or can be use in plastic as well ? Excuse me if this is a stupid question, I just got my circuit. I’m trying to learn a beat
It works on anything made for "sublimation." My google search history is filled with random searches seeing what types of "sublimation blanks" exist! You typically cannot sublimate on plastic because of the high heat point required to transfer the ink :) Hope this helps!
couple of questions. I don't have a mug press so I will have to use the mug wrap and a conventional oven. do you have any suggestions of time and temp sublimating a mug using those tools? many use a convection toaster type oven, but I only have a standard electric oven that I can use. I don't want to use my everyday oven for this process. would I still have to use the butcher paper on top of the cricut clear? when using the cricut paper - does that differ in time/temp from sublimation prints on sub paper or bright white paper?
I'd recommend a small convection toaster oven just used for infusible ink and sublimation. Time and temperature will depend on the oven, unfortunately.
hey there I was just wondering I have been trying out the infusible ink on Mugs however I come across an issue. I'm not sure what is causing it exactly but sometimes the grid marks from the sheets transfer as well as the ink. I do however use a different method. I use silicone wraps and the oven since I don't have a press. A lot of the times they work perfectly except for a few light brown grid marks. any ideas why this might be happening?
I got the grid marks when I put mine in a sublimation oven too! The ink off the transfer carrier sheet is transferring. So I trim mine down and then tape it on and I haven’t had the grid issue since then!
so awesome and informative. i am curious what happened to the one at the bottom after the mug was heated a bit in the press. the base isn't directly treated but it does get a little hot varying radially.
How long would recommend letting your mug cool before removing the everything? I use a silicone wrap and bake my mugs, but I didnt know if how long you wait made a difference in the design.
I looked through the comments to see if my question was answered and couldn't find any info. If it was...forgive me. My question is; can a mug with infusible ink be microwaved?
Hello! I saw your message and she said at the end of the video that "Yes" you can put them in the microwave. Hope this information helps. Just trying to be helpful.
Thank you. I want to purchase a heat press machine but I don’t know what brand to get. What’s the name of your brand plz? and can you also use it for glasses? Ty
Would a pre-heated mug from the oven work with the mini? It seems unlikely I would invest in a mug press...CRICUT already is an investment, iykwim...lol 😆
Is there a way for the letters to adhere to glitter? I glittered a wine bottle from top to bottom then attempted to stick the letters on. It didn't work. Help.😫😫😫😫 Appreciate any help.
I love that infusable ink is flush and washable! No more worrying about vinyl peeling off. Thanks for testing the mini for us, now we know the press is best.

So happy to see this. Not sure why, but I never thought about this on a mug. I hate using vinyl on glasses/mugs.
I agree. It feels unprofessional and peels in dishwasher
Thank you for this video! I just bought a heat press but I don't have a sublimation printer yet (not in the budget right now!). I was trying to figure out how I can do sublimation without a sub printer and you just answered that question for me - yay!
I didnt realize infusable ink worked on mug. I'm so happy this is epic yes
I wondered if infusible ink would work on mugs! Thanks for testing this for us!

It worked on coated ceramic-- make sure to look for blanks optimized for sublimation :)
Thank you for this video. I just purchased the press and some mugs from Amazon.
Thank you for this video, it helped me a lot, I will see if I can get the mug press because it seems easier to get work done.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I really want the mug press now! And I, like you, feel it could work with Mini Press with more time in sections :)
first time watching you, i am new in this thing and I love it. I will love to learn ho to do it. thanks for sharing .
Cool video! I love the coffee cup. Turned out super cute. I thought thus would be possible with a mini easy press!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent with us! I’m just learning how to use my Cricut.
I’ve used the mini for HTV in a cup and it works great x
Yes! HTV and the mini work great. HTV transfers at a mug lower heat point :)
Pressing instead of rubbing may have made a difference. Idk but it's a thought
Unfortunately, it still won't work. The mini works great on other surfaces. I just don't recommend it for infusible ink on mugs.
The easypress mini will work for infusible ink, but the transfer must be consistent heat on the entire item. The press should cover the whole design for any infusible ink project.

Hello,
I love you video.
I’m having a hard time setting my mug pressor. If you don’t mind. Can you explain in a video how to set your mug pressor?
Thanks
Thanks, good to know. I was hopeful. Never have used the ink yet and was wanting to for cups. I need a mug press for sure now if I want to do that.
A circular piece of copper would work for the bottom, or aluminum.
Unfortunately I learned that the bottom of most sublimation mugs are not coated with the polymer that takes the ink :(
I hope the mini easy press works because I just got one
It works great on several projects! I just don't recommend it for this one use case. I used infusible ink on a stuffed animal with it and it transferred perfectly.
You are a wealth of knowledge! New subscriber and I've already watched 4 videos back to back 😂. Thank you so much for all of this information! ❤️
Thank you!! I used to work at cricut so I have an unfair advantage 😂
Do these last in the dishwasher. What care instructions would you give. Also would you recommend the easy press machine?
They are dishwasher and microwave safe. I love the easypress for almost every other project-- just not infusible ink/ sublimation on mugs :)
Marley, great video. I have to say one of the things I struggle with is all the different products, vinyls, etc out there, sometimes its a bit confusing on which product to use for which item, shirt, etc. I am glad you answered one of my main questions "can it go to the microwave?" What else can you use infusible ink on??
Thank you Karley, this is a very informative video. Take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
Thank you so much for trailing these methods.

Hi Karley, can I put the mug back in the mug press to add another colour say on top off and around the black to produce a two coloured logo? Very new to this only got my Cricut machine last week. Thanks for the videos.
This is so entertaining to watch and very informative!!! Thank you ☺️
Thank you for doing that experiment for us. Very helpful.
I wish they had more infusible ink sheet colors and styles.

I don’t recommend using an oven you cook in, but if you buy a convection toaster oven that you don’t plan to cook in, yes! You’ll just need to buy a mug wrap :)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
I wonder if you could put it in a toaster oven after pressing the decal down firmly.
Yes!
Hugs Susan
Can you microwave a mug after using the infusable ink ?
Yes!
@@KarleyHall ty For Replying ill definitely be looking into it.
I should mention, the heat press was set at 400 degrees.
This video was AWESOME! Can you let us know what brand of mug heat press machine you are using?
Mug Press: amzn.to/3bLqlvB

Did the KH on the bottom of the mini press mug transfer after you had it in the mug press?
Nope :( It needs to have the heating element directly on it to transfer.

Hello! What mug press do you have?
Everything is linked in the video description!
Thank you. I want to purchase a heat press machine but I don’t know what brand to get. What’s the name of your brand plz? and can you also use it for glasses? Ty
The one I used is linked! I also added another option that is super popular!
I have a sublimation printer but it’s good to know I can do this
will it wash off in the dish washer?
Nope! Microwave and dishwasher safe!
How about a regular iron? Would that work w/o the purchase of a press?
A regular iron will not get hot enough :(
Loved this font! What is the name of it?
The design is linked in the video description :) It'll take you to the exact project!
How would you add the brand sticker on the bottom of the mug with the mug press?
I wouldn't add a sticker since these are microwave and dishwasher safe as is.
Can we make with cricut air 2
Yep!
looks like cricut changed the carrier sheet, mine doesn't have the lines to help position it
Another thing tp buy!! Oh my word!
can you used any mugs'
You need to use sublimation mugs! Check out the sublimation list here www.amazon.com/shop/karley.hall
Would a pre-heated mug from the oven work with the mini? It seems unlikely I would invest in a mug press...CRICUT already is an investment, iykwim...lol 😆
Will any oil based marker work for this?
No this is sublimation.
I didn't see the link for the mugs you used. Can you repost it? Thank you
Hi, can you tell my what font you used for the design?
The link is in the video description! For whatever reason I can’t post the links in comments!
Would this make it microwave and dishwasher safe? If not, is there a way to make it dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes! They are both microwave and dishwasher safe!

Where do you find a "infusable mug"?
Any mug that is designed for sublimation will work with cricut infusible ink.
Where do you get the coffee mugs to use with infusible ink?
Everything is linked in the video description!
Can you wash these mugs in the dishwasher after adding your image?
Yep! They are completely permanent!

The mug press I use in this video has a tumbler attachment.
Is there a way for the letters to adhere to glitter? I glittered a wine bottle from top to bottom then attempted to stick the letters on. It didn't work. Help.😫😫😫😫 Appreciate any help.
I would recommend a thin coat of epoxy over your glitter.
Do you have to use sublimation mugs for this to work? Or is it just better to use the special mugs?
Yes, sublimation mugs are necessary for this to work! Mug Press: amzn.to/3bLqlvB

They did not transfer.
Thanks for your video. The mini easy press is definitely not winning me over.
