People complain about budokai's music but the funny thing is; people who liked the original songs will be impressed by how well budokai recreated them and those who gre up with budokai will be interested in the original songs; through the game. Either way you look at it, it's win:win. The only way it can go bad is if someone rants over and over about how bad it is, rather than accepting what happens.
And you know the lawsuit that can still happen. Plus the dude who did all this got fired for it once people found out. So I'd say there's some more negatives rather than ranting. In fact ranting is the least bad thing of all the bad things.
@@IRHasDiabetes911 Well... Doom did the same thing and it's sequel. Doom 2 being worse as it plagurises many songs from the same album and band! The song isn't even edited a bit like Budokai did; its just the same song. What happened to the guy who made that music? He got a paycheck and kept his job. The world is a strange place my friend. Sometimes you get caught, other times nobody really cares. Even when people report on it a lot :/
Being good doesn't justify plagiarism, though. The original creators should at least be credited and paid for considering that the music was copied to help turn a profit.
@@Noscopenoproblem Sadly it happens more than you think. Doom 1 and 2 for example (the originals) did not only the same thing but in doom 2, nearly an entire album was copied for their music; since a good number of songs all originated from it. Nintendo's Super Mario World Athletic song was also copied from "Green Greens", a song from america that was copied by a japanese composer who later inspired the musician at nintendo. Surprisingly DBZ Dokkan has some songs that sound inspired by Budokai 3 (or at least have the same heart) so it kinda lives on without plagurism. Still, we cannot ignore his actions, even if they continued doing it after they fired him; although that would be a story for another day.
DBZFusion405 Toei Animation, it seems. Until he did the scores for Kai, Yamamoto was able to get away with all this because he was only really doing music for the games. But once he started doing plagarism in the show, he got busted.
I came to mourn for a legend, and wound up looking to the skies for a better future he left behind. Thank you Stratovarius, Kenji Yamamoto and Akira Toriyama. Rest in peace, Toriyama….
It was also used in Budokai 2 for the Muscle Tower/Snow stage. All games after that lack it. Aside from the US version of Tenakichi 1 which does use it because the Japanese version used the Japanese TV music and Atari wasn't sure if they had the copyright in the US or not... or something along those lines.
+Urasitti No, actually, not sad at all. Video game composers don't have lyrics to try and work around in their music so the focus is more on rhythm and instrumentation. It helps the final product loop better.
Lol, the guy who made the soundtracks for DBZ is charged with plagiarism as challengers is his "Stolen version of "Hunting High and Low". No joke, that's why they almost fit well together, only Challengers is a little faster. Hope this helps anyone who did not know.
Kenji Yamamoto is a plagiarist, and because of that, all his music's been pulled from DBZ Kai recently, but his "remixes" still sound great and, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be a fan of Stratovarius today.
@Spudman89 daw, thats too bad. But anyway, great mix. Hoping for great videos like this (and others) in the future! This also inspired me to play budokai 1 and 3 again.
When I grow up, I wanna be a director. A director of both kickass anime and kickass video games. One of my ideas is Super Smash Bros., but with anime instead. Do you know how much fucking money I will pay just so I can bring both composers together and create the ultimate track in my game?! If I have power to abuse, then might as well abuse it to spoil the shit out of players.
@albertlance Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 1 and 2 are for the nintendo GameCube and Playstation 2. Budokai 3 is for playstation 2 only. Or, if you want you can get the Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD collection for the XBox 360 and Playstation 3. But that game only has Budokai 1 and 3, not 2.
These songs sound even better together. The lead guitar melody from Challengers fills the background very well.
I can't hear this songs separately anymore
@@DorneyGamer Ni yo
2:57 that timing
Honestly, this sounds infinitely better combined than either song does alone. Plagierism is wrong, but art is art, and art was created here.
Plagerism yes
Childhood forever
I Love this song with lattice climbing but this is well
I don't think the artist/composer would agree with you.
Nah man plagiarism is good when yamamoto does it.
Sad part is this song is fitting for the entire dragon ball series, i wish they got permission from the original artist =(
It would´ve been the original stratovarius music so we would thank because the new creation is good enough
I think they could have made it work. They tweek songs for anime all the time
I come here tonight to reflect on Dragon Ball Z in light of the news of Akira Toriyama's passing.
How you feeling?
Frieza: Shhhhh. Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm HUNTING HIGH AND LOW for Dwagon Balls.
An interesting Story..
Thank you Goku I will take this bean without hesitation.
frieza: its monkey season. goku: no its lizard season. frieza: no no no....
Yup
Alternate Title: Hunting High and Low for Challengers
1:06 Now, that was beyond on point. Fuckin' epic
Exactly!
@@TheSmashingMarkeseandJayGamerjup
You have just restored my faith in humanity sir! Always wondered what the two songs synced up would sound like and this is just too awesome for words.
this is easily the best mashup ive ever heard
I wish this challengers/hunting high and low remix was on iTunes
Admittingly, me too. It honestly doesn't feel either song alone.
That band was niche in America but popular all over Europe.
10/10 Montage to go with awesome music.
Brought back some great memories of playing Budokai.
at this point, I don't even care that they stole the notes. it was worth it
Yeah, it even sounds better together!
The fans really profited from this

*I AM HUNTING HIGH AND LOW*
Pure goosebumps...
This is legit just badass. The mash-up, the visuals. It's like, EVERYTHING Budokai for me.
Epic mix with Epic montage
you, sir, deserve the respect as we all give you.
*salute*
So.
Fucking.
Epic.
Like how you used Budokai cut-scenes and battles with the music, makes it seem bett-r
Astronomically excellent and purely beautiful !
Simply amazing and perfectly fitting ! Thank you !
This is a truly perfect fusion
Thank you thank you 1,000,000X THANK YOU! You've made a lifelong DBZ and Stratovarius fan very happy.

DB/Z/S + Power Metal = EPIC
Now that I have heard them both at the same time, they do sound alot similar then I thought they did.
2:58 Ka-BOOM!
Like any Potara or Fusion Dance, the resulting fusion is mightier than it’s component parts!
I like this vid, it has alot of nostalgia in there, and the effort shows. Good work, I like a good mash-up!
Would you call me ridiculous or nastalgic if i told you i was crying the entire video ?
Finally someone mixed both tracks! Nice one, mate! This rocks!!!
I literally blast this song every time I do the final battle with Mira in xenoverse 2(hopefully him and towa come back so I can play this song again)
I'ma blast this while I play fighterz

Man I used to watch this video hundred of time back then
That's some powerful mashup you got there!
Hunting High and Low would fit perfectly in DBZ actually :)
Mashup? You mean comparing it to the source material? xD
In all seriousness this is fucking awesome.

this is still a beautiful edit
great way to summarize dbz
Still one of the greatest gmvs of all time
FIREEEE 🔥🔥
Is it sad to say that even though that I never heard of Stratovarius's song that ultimately, I prefer the plagiarist's version over the original?
+Urasitti No, actually, not sad at all. Video game composers don't have lyrics to try and work around in their music so the focus is more on rhythm and instrumentation. It helps the final product loop better.
+Spike Rose who needs vocals when you can make epic portrayals of such with blazing guitars, not this guy 😎

A lot.

Nicely done.
Budokai graphics did NOT age well when compared to other DBZ games ( still a fun game though)
Gracias por todo akira toriyama 🤍
