It really isn't surprising, in DB to stay relevant a character needs to at least be able to take a hit, which DB goes from wall-level, to multiversal reality warping.
Dragonball had the freedom and room to explode (no pun intended) with their power scale regarding their magic system in Z. Radditz and Frieza ensured it by showing them capable of destroying planets and in Dragonball where they were capable of destroying their own moon. This is because Shonen wasn’t established yet and he was bringing a new genre to the world. Toriyama had the freedom to explore the extremes and go far beyond. Whereas modern Shonen - they want to remain relative to their world and it’s not going to be so free to destroy universes like Dragonball franchise. It’s like an unwritten rule - establish the world and how it manages with the magic system and along the way, you meet characters who excel and push the limits

Krillin casually scales to top 18, who casually scales past ssj1 goku and vegeta (start of ToP) and Krillin himself forced base goku to transform into ssj1 to not get rung out. He one shots.
These discussions are always pretty self explanatory. The scaling in both respective verses aren't even close. Being planetary in dragon ball isn't a big feat, but one piece will never be planetary (no matter how much power scalers will pull shit out of their ass) because that clearly isn't what Oda is intending to do. That being said, the discussions does get more interesting when talking about logia fruits. When a logia user is hit with something, their body simply gets blown out of order, according to the wiki. So if krillin were to punch a logia user without going full strength, the user's body would just simply split apart. That being said, every logia type should have an elemental weakness. If a fire logia were to battle an ice logia, the fire logia could hurt the ice user because fire melts ice. So if krillin is able to change* the molecular composition of an element into something else (ice -> water), then he'd be able to hurt the logia users without haki. He'd be able to easily do that considering his power level. The only anomaly is the light fruit (or at least, I don't know enough about science to figure that out).
No other shounen is. Nobody in naruto or bleach could do it either. DBZ is the only one where planets and a galaxy can be blown up by the people fighting.

Krillin doesn’t solo one piece bleach or Naruto they have too many hacks that can kill him,immobilize him,and seal him and he can’t even touch most characters in one piece due to intangibility he not doing against kizaru or Blackbeard 1v1.

Comparing any verse with Dragon Ball is unfair, the only one shonen from that time that is worth comparing is Saint Seiya. The rest of the shonens are pretty more grounded and doesn't powercreep that much.

What I love/hate about powerscalers is them trying to highball everything. "This character is X times faster than the speed of light." Also that same character getting hit by an attack that normal people can see, meaning it's not that fast: At least with dragon ball they actually have acknowledged in the story itself that some fights are happening at speeds too fast for others to even keep up with as spectators. Not many series actually do that.
speed in general is very variable in anime. take dragonball for example: gohan can easily catch every bullet fired from a machine gun, but then weeks later he is incapable of catching a single earring his father lightly tossed towards him

Pre meeting Guru and getting his potential unleashed Krillin would probably not struggle against most but if all the verse jumps Krillin then I see them winning. After Namak Krillin will beat everyone in the OP verse. Both are my favorite series but Krillin and all Dbz and after beat OP.
Namek Saga overall is insane, that's why power levels in numbers made so much damage to the scaling. After Toriyama didn't use it anymore the feats where more plausible, Cell saying that he can destroy the Solar Systen with one Full Power Kamehameha is not that Crazy, but in Namek Saga if Frieza said that we would believe it as well.

Nobody can really hurt Krillin but there are a lot of what ifs in this because some opponents krillin cant defeat without knowledge prior due to them being logias leading to a stalemate. I personally Ki can substitute for Haki because in the DB universe you can use Ki to punch energy that shouldn't be interactable/physically tangible such as destruction energy which literally just erase anything on contact if your ki isn't substantial but the video already explained this really well.
People seem to forget that Dragonball was blowing up moons and moving massively hypersonic when Goku and Krillin were kids. You may, MAY, be able to beat them with hax but none of the big 3 is fast enough to tag them.

I think it’s also to be noted that haki is not actually necessary to defeat a logia user. Logia abilities are all subject to a certain level of “Pokémon logic”. Magma beats fire without haki because magma is hotter is a big example. But Luffy is able to beat both a sand and lightning logia user without haki just by using this level of logic. One of those was basically on accident. If we accept that ki is basically pure energy, a focused enough kamehameha would just vaporize most of not all logia users. His lack of haki basically does not matter at all.
The funny part with most calcs comparing Dragon Ball to other more standard shonens in power is that Goku midway through the first part of Dragon (in say, Tien's Arc) would already be one of the if not the strongest character around should he be placed in their universe. So going into DBZ is nearly always superfluous in practice X)
people forgetting that haki is literally weaponised willpower, this can overcome logia users, ki is life energy, which in db is made up of energy, courage and mind. What is willpower? the strength of one's mind, so its very clear any sort of ki imbued attack or defense would have the same properties haki does in the One piece verse

I don't think it's really a fair comparison, especially not 1:1 like that due to difficulty to obtain and the practical limitations of the power systems. Yes they may have the same underlying core principals but the manifestation of them in the verses are very different.
Roshi MAX power 180= destroying the moon Saibamen each 6.66x that at 1200 Krillen at 1700 blitzed and annihilated 4 of them in a single outburst with no named attacks. It’s almost embarrassing this is a question outside of hax.

I am by no means an expert and I haven't seen as much Dragon Ball as I have One Piece so take all this with a massive pile of salt. But I feel it's valid to ask if Krillin is capable of learning techniques and abilities that DON'T belong to his verse (And Vice Versa), and how that could affect the outcome. For example, if we say that TECHNICALLY Ki couldn't hurt Logia users because it's not quite the same as Haki, would it be out of the question for Krillin to LEARN how to use Haki? I don't think so. I imagine Krillin learning about the concept and going off to train with Silvers Rayleigh or something and coming back with a full mastery of all types. It would also be cool to know if Luffy or whoever could learn Ki control from Krillin or Roshi and start flying. Although that's assuming it's NOT a fight to the death the instant any of these characters meet.
This is one of the reasons why it is usually better to do power equalization or to understand that Haki, Ki, spiritual pressure, nen and chakra are mostly the same base of life energy. Like realistically there is no reason DB characters wouldn't be able to use Haki if they were in OP

I agree with the take but scaling Gear 5th luffy is whack. According to the road to laughtale chapters that released between Wano and egghead the power isn't just goofy toon force it's the ability to turn imagination to reality, now the limitations are not clear so you can't scale him reliably.

Classic Dragon Ball logic, power is everything and hacks don't work because they can be over powered in Dragon Ball. The only hack ability that is ever seen resisted is Law's OP fruit meanwhile things like the toy fruit and barrier fruit have never been shown to be over powered. As far as Logia's go I don't think you can atomize things like light or lightning so that logic does not track and if they can easily atomize opponents why would Buu recover from their attacks? Is Krillin shown to be completely immune to poison and dehydration as well because those are a couple he'd have to contend with?
The real argument is that Ki is similar to Haki so it is likely Ki attacks could hit Logis users and since characters are constantly using Ki to punch harder in DB well that would be bad for One Piece. It is hard to know because power systems are not meant to interact with other verses.
The funny thing is, if he was put into that setting? He'd be some one off random 'wtf, how is he that strong? Why is he just sitting around here?' character. He simply has no reason to go getting into fights as long as no one starts anything where he lives. At most he might deliberately suppress himself and do martial arts because he appreciates the craft. Same issue as with Yamcha. People see Krillin in a messed up way. Krillin is a Ak47 standing next to howitzers, those being Piccolo, Goku, Gohon, Vegeta and so on. An AK will mess your shit up, a howitzer will give your neighborhood a really bad day.
We debated this when we were 11 years old with my friends... today we have grown up and we see clearly that it's not the power that counts, it's what the story tells and how it tells it. Dragon Ball is to make children talk, while One Piece makes adults think and move

It’s not just lasers. and hax can be easily overpowered in DB when your power level dwarfs the hax user. ONe piece characters are ants to krillin. Their effects would not work on him at all.
Even leaving aside the issue of scaling, my man Krillin is both a man of culture AND a very clever tactical fighter who is a veteran of both the tournament arena and the open battlefield. He’s a man who uses what he has and DBS in particular shows that he is very capable of midifying his techniques to make them more suited to targeting an enemy weakness. The Kienzan in particular can be extremely lethal given how finely he can control it. And as a police officer I’m sure he can talk no jutsu with the best of them. As far as one piece goes, I’d say he survives even better than Goku!

Most of this is correct. Like krillin might be taken by surprise by logos users and struggle for a bit, but once he uses a ki blast it’s over. OP characters are at most slightly FTL. Even that seems iffy. Like kizaru talks about moving at light speed, but every time he’s been shown, it hasn’t seemed once he moved anywhere near that fast. Now the biggest problem. Something so many people get wrong. The size of the planet. There is simply no possible way the planet of OP is as big as Earth. Look up how long it takes to sail around the Earth in a sailboat. They make it more than halfway around their planet (starting somewhere around the middle of east blue makes it ~75% of the planet) with many multiple day stops and the grand line being a zigzag pattern in a year. Roughly 1 year from the start of one piece to the red line. If they were sailing in a straight line and only stopped for a day here and there it would be different, but no. The world of OP is small.

Dude dragon ball is part of a franchise that just have overly strong people in it or just one or two but a whole lot of them.
It really isn't surprising, in DB to stay relevant a character needs to at least be able to take a hit, which DB goes from wall-level, to multiversal reality warping.
Dragonball had the freedom and room to explode (no pun intended) with their power scale regarding their magic system in Z. Radditz and Frieza ensured it by showing them capable of destroying planets and in Dragonball where they were capable of destroying their own moon.
This is because Shonen wasn’t established yet and he was bringing a new genre to the world. Toriyama had the freedom to explore the extremes and go far beyond. Whereas modern Shonen - they want to remain relative to their world and it’s not going to be so free to destroy universes like Dragonball franchise. It’s like an unwritten rule - establish the world and how it manages with the magic system and along the way, you meet characters who excel and push the limits

Krillin casually scales to top 18, who casually scales past ssj1 goku and vegeta (start of ToP) and Krillin himself forced base goku to transform into ssj1 to not get rung out. He one shots.
These discussions are always pretty self explanatory. The scaling in both respective verses aren't even close. Being planetary in dragon ball isn't a big feat, but one piece will never be planetary (no matter how much power scalers will pull shit out of their ass) because that clearly isn't what Oda is intending to do.
That being said, the discussions does get more interesting when talking about logia fruits. When a logia user is hit with something, their body simply gets blown out of order, according to the wiki. So if krillin were to punch a logia user without going full strength, the user's body would just simply split apart. That being said, every logia type should have an elemental weakness. If a fire logia were to battle an ice logia, the fire logia could hurt the ice user because fire melts ice. So if krillin is able to change* the molecular composition of an element into something else (ice -> water), then he'd be able to hurt the logia users without haki. He'd be able to easily do that considering his power level. The only anomaly is the light fruit (or at least, I don't know enough about science to figure that out).
No other shounen is. Nobody in naruto or bleach could do it either. DBZ is the only one where planets and a galaxy can be blown up by the people fighting.

Nobody can really hurt Krillin but there are a lot of what ifs in this because some opponents krillin cant defeat without knowledge prior due to them being logias leading to a stalemate. I personally Ki can substitute for Haki because in the DB universe you can use Ki to punch energy that shouldn't be interactable/physically tangible such as destruction energy which literally just erase anything on contact if your ki isn't substantial but the video already explained this really well.
People seem to forget that Dragonball was blowing up moons and moving massively hypersonic when Goku and Krillin were kids. You may, MAY, be able to beat them with hax but none of the big 3 is fast enough to tag them.

I think it’s also to be noted that haki is not actually necessary to defeat a logia user. Logia abilities are all subject to a certain level of “Pokémon logic”. Magma beats fire without haki because magma is hotter is a big example. But Luffy is able to beat both a sand and lightning logia user without haki just by using this level of logic. One of those was basically on accident.
If we accept that ki is basically pure energy, a focused enough kamehameha would just vaporize most of not all logia users. His lack of haki basically does not matter at all.
The funny part with most calcs comparing Dragon Ball to other more standard shonens in power is that Goku midway through the first part of Dragon (in say, Tien's Arc) would already be one of the if not the strongest character around should he be placed in their universe.
So going into DBZ is nearly always superfluous in practice X)

For example, if we say that TECHNICALLY Ki couldn't hurt Logia users because it's not quite the same as Haki, would it be out of the question for Krillin to LEARN how to use Haki? I don't think so. I imagine Krillin learning about the concept and going off to train with Silvers Rayleigh or something and coming back with a full mastery of all types.
It would also be cool to know if Luffy or whoever could learn Ki control from Krillin or Roshi and start flying.

I agree with the take but scaling Gear 5th luffy is whack. According to the road to laughtale chapters that released between Wano and egghead the power isn't just goofy toon force it's the ability to turn imagination to reality, now the limitations are not clear so you can't scale him reliably.

Classic Dragon Ball logic, power is everything and hacks don't work because they can be over powered in Dragon Ball. The only hack ability that is ever seen resisted is Law's OP fruit meanwhile things like the toy fruit and barrier fruit have never been shown to be over powered. As far as Logia's go I don't think you can atomize things like light or lightning so that logic does not track and if they can easily atomize opponents why would Buu recover from their attacks? Is Krillin shown to be completely immune to poison and dehydration as well because those are a couple he'd have to contend with?

The real argument is that Ki is similar to Haki so it is likely Ki attacks could hit Logis users and since characters are constantly using Ki to punch harder in DB well that would be bad for One Piece.

The funny thing is, if he was put into that setting? He'd be some one off random 'wtf, how is he that strong? Why is he just sitting around here?' character. Even leaving aside the issue of scaling, my man Krillin is both a man of culture AND a very clever tactical fighter who is a veteran of both the tournament arena and the open battlefield. He’s a man who uses what he has and DBS in particular shows that he is very capable of midifying his techniques to make them more suited to targeting an enemy weakness.
The Kienzan in particular can be extremely lethal given how finely he can control it. And as a police officer I’m sure he can talk no jutsu with the best of them. As far as one piece goes, I’d say he survives even better than Goku!

Most of this is correct. Like krillin might be taken by surprise by logos users and struggle for a bit, but once he uses a ki blast it’s over. OP characters are at most slightly FTL. Even that seems iffy. Like kizaru talks about moving at light speed, but every time he’s been shown, it hasn’t seemed once he moved anywhere near that fast. Now the biggest problem. Something so many people get wrong. The size of the planet. There is simply no possible way the planet of OP is as big as Earth. Look up how long it takes to sail around the Earth in a sailboat. They make it more than halfway around their planet (starting somewhere around the middle of east blue makes it ~75% of the planet) with many multiple day stops and the grand line being a zigzag pattern in a year. Roughly 1 year from the start of one piece to the red line. If they were sailing in a straight line and only stopped for a day here and there it would be different, but no. The world of OP is small.
We all know who Krillin pulled. That alone makes him beyond any of the big 3.

1) no Roshi isn't able to keep up with Jiren and he was only able to dodge attacks from a Jiren who is not even trying at the slightest, but even then Roshi is able to keep up effectively with most of fighters from the other universes, and a lot of them are able to keep up with at the very least base Cabba who alone could probably solo all of Z
2) it's not really a feat for Tien more so his Kikōhō, like literally every time Tien to fight someone he Kikōhō outright just puts more output than him and if Krilin gets caught in it he will probably lose, but if he doesn't *or* he is able to somehow dodge it more than 1 time that would be an instant win for Krilin
