I’ve tried cooking dozens of different recipes to perfect the taste of a restaurant korma and whilst some have been really good, this is in my opinion is the best yet - and the easiest. No special ingredients, no nuts, no thick cream (except the coconut cream) and no chopping of onions! Forget my portfolio of tried and tested Korma recipes - this has now become my family favourite. I was originally going to cook a Kashmiri curry with added fresh fruit but did this curry and at the end just on a very gentle heat, added some fresh lychees and banana chunks - delicious. Thank you for your good, clear instructions and tips.
bro, add a whole can of pineappple chunks and juice to make a malaya curry, its sooo good!!
Thank you, Chef, I love your recipes, I am from Mexico but I do love Indian Food very tasty and love the variety of healthy spices and ingredients added to the recipes
Oh my days, I made this and it is awesome!! Thanks so much for the recipe, sometimes you just need total comfort food and this is it.
I just made this and have to give it 5 stars! I live abroad now and there is nowhere here that does a chicken korma, of all the recipes I have tried on RUclips this is the only one which tastes EXACTLY like they make in Indian Restaurants in the UK 😊 thank you very much!
Wow that is quite a compliment. I am delighted to know that you have found your favourite recipe for korma 🙏
Live in Australia found this recipe and have made it about 7 times now. Saved the video to my play list me and my wife love it. Thanks for sharing so simple!
I'm drunk and I'm making this recipe, and I literally just noticed this guys accent isn't Indian, it's SCO-ISH. LMFAO
Hope you enjoyed cooking your korma mate
Aye there's a little indian in there but i can definitely hear the scottish!
This made me laugh so much!
@@ICVGW haha. 'there's a little Indian in there' made me laugh so hard XD
@@interstellarlapisthecccp4946 me too lol
Made this for my daughter as she's not a big spicy fan, it was without a doubt the best korma I've ever cooked, superb!
So under rated
there are some really great tips for cooking in general on his videos.
It looks just like what you get at the best local restaurants.
Thank you. I am glad that you found this video helpful 🙏
Made this tonight for my very fussy step son who won’t eat any vegetables. onion is his worst. He absolutely loved it. Said it was the best he has ever tasted. Love the hidden veg haha. Thank you for the recipe.
😂 not much veg is this mate 😂
My first husband was from Glasgow and his family immigrated to the States when he was 16, He became a US citizen and stayed in the US, but his parents moved back to Glasgow when they retired. I had the opportunity to visit them on a trip to Scotland and they introduced me to Indian cuisine. I had Chicken Korma and I fell in love with it! After returning to the States I made it my mission to find Chicken Korma at various Indian restaurants here but none of them compared to what I had eaten in Glasgow. I can’t wait to make this and I am keeping my fingers crossed that my search is now over and I can have it anytime my heart desires! Thank you!
Im guessing you havent found it.
@@my2angels4ever26 I haven’t made it yet! 😀Soon now that I remember that I forgot about this recipe!
@@jocarson5310 🤣 I must say i loved it. I didnt get the yellow color though with my curcuma so i added saffron. It turned out perfectly. Greetings!

@@jocarson5310did you ever do it 😀
I love Indian food ❤ Pasanda , Korma and Tikka Masala are my favourites . Mild and creamy 😃
Thank you so much for this great recipe! It has become my go to for korma. I add ground fresh coriander just because I love coriander but it doesn’t need it/ It’s a fabulous recipe!
Now I don’t need to ask my Indian relatives who hate giving out recipes lol
Made this tonight for Valentine’s Day and it was delicious! I would say you could use double the amount of chicken. There was so much sauce!
I am glad that you have enjoyed cooking korma 🙂
Thank you for showing how to cook chicken korma with clear directions, and what-to-dos, what-not-to-dos! I love, love all kinds of curries, and I feel lucky to come across your channel today. 😊Cheers!

Thank you Chef Kumar. I love the one I get at the restaurant near my house; they do add to it raisins and almonds! It tastes fabulous! I will try your recipe, perhaps with that added twist. धन्यवाद
This looks absolutely delicious.
I’ve a wee suggestion. Could you ever make a peshwari naan recipe just like it’s made in the Indian restaurant ? It’s my favourite thing on the menu and it’d be so fun to recreate it at home!
Thank you for compliments and I will surely do a peshwari naan video soon
@@ChefAjayKumar Thank you. Can’t wait.
This is the craziest accent I've ever heard. Indian + Scottish accent. And I thought Indian + Greek accent was a crazy combo.
Anyways, this looks delicious and I might try to cook it one day. I usually order it from a specific restaurant and it is golden. Love the sweet taste of the coconut. Then they also add a salad with a type of awesome white salad sauce, but I don't know what its called. It's so good.
Making this on the black sea coast of Turkey. Looks like it will be good
Hope you like the recipe 🙂
@@ChefAjayKumar it was excellent. I had to make a couple of substitutions but the taste and texture was very close to a restaurant korma.
@@qzxerty thats great. I am sure with a little practice you will nail it and your korma will come out better than a takeaway
@@ChefAjayKumar xd takeaway is better but urs is deliciousssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
@@clouddash3968 thank you for your compliments ☺
Looks great. Thankyou. That looks like a tasty korma .
I made a nice Korma following your steps, although I added ground almonds. If I eat in a sandwich the next day, is that technically a Coronation chicken sandwich?
Thanks, Chef! Delicious, they have great taste in, Glasgow!
Love your Scindian (Scottish & Indian) accent
Looks lovely
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the recipe. I always thought a korma has ground almonds. Definitely going to try this though
Stop searching this is it! The best korma recepie on this platform
Thank you mate. I am delighted to know that you loved my recipe 🙂🙏

How can I find the ingredients please? I've subscribed but still can't fund them.
How long should you marinate the chicken for?
I’m Scottish and I love Scottish Indian people .x
Looks goood id probably substitute the sugar for monk fruit and water for coconut milk or cashews milk
Looks awesome. Surprised there aren’t any almonds
Ajay, I've made this several times and it's amazing! Thank you! Tomorrow, I'm cooking this for 12! Any advice on upscaling would be most welcome!!

Hi, thanks I’m going to attempt this for tonight, your Korma looks delicious. Kindest regards. Daniel
Hope it turns out great for you. Thank you 🙏
I made this at the weekend and it was delicious thank you
I'm looking forward to trying this. I've followed quite a few recipes so far and it's been nothing like a korma from a takeaway or even a supermarket ready meal. Each time, it's been horribly sickly, but yours has lots more onions and less fat, which definitely seems better!
🙏🙏🙏
And.... How did it come out?
@@rob4433 I'll let you know, I have the ingredients in the freezer but haven't fancied curry yet.
this sounds amazing, i cant wait to make it but how and where do i get the recipe ?

Great recipe. Please help me understand why you choose to add water instead of the coconut milk that you say to discard.
Yum
A little thank you feedback for you, Ajay.. a recipe from Mombasa. To a pint of coconut water add cod for two, half a medium red onion and a big tomato quartered, in a covered casserole, 180 in the oven.. very nourishing, sweet and tasty. Enjoy!
I love the sound of this recipe. Will give it a try for sure at some point. Thank you 🙏

Hi, i love this recipe, just wanted to know i could use diced lamb instead of chicken? Thought it was chicken when i defrosted it lol
What can be a substitute for coconut cream or milk?:(
Greetings from Scotland. ; )
And to you too mate 🙏
Thanks ajay I live in Lanark I would love to visit your restaurant where is it
@shirinjabbal2276 thank you too. It is in Glasgow merchant city. Please google Swadish by Ajay Kumar and you should be able to locate us.
This was soooo good, came out just like a restaurant korma. Only thing I couldn't figure out is where to put the 1/2 tsp salt. I just put it with the sugar in the end.
Thank you for your compliments. I am glad that you enjoyed your Korma. You could add the salt at the very end of the cook-off.
This was is a great recipe! I cook several Indian dishes and was looking for a korma dish that was like a fast food chain in Canada called tandori
I am delighted to know that you like my recipes 🙂
Tried it bro it's lovely cheers 👌🏴😉
Thank you for trying my korma 🙏
Great skills Chef Ajay. Indian cuisine one of my favourite foods.
Is it easy to prepare home made coconut cream? What's your method?
1:00 I knew I was following a good recipe when I saw the generous/necessary amount of oil needed for the recipe. Most recipes I’ve seen in You Tube use one or two tablespoons, not enough for the amounts of ingredients to cook. Thanks for sharing.
That is true. Oil is important to cook the ingredients. Thank you for your compliments ☺
Do you recommend leaving the chicken in the marinate overnight? I have never heard of things being overly marinated so I would guess it is ok?
Ah, no. After marinating the chuck, sear it in a blisteringly hot pan, THEN add it into the gravy.
A simple step for so much more flavour.
Almond powder is a must
Thought Korma contained almonds?
