Not had a korma since the boil in the bag vesta's in the 70s. Your 30 min curries are a real godsend for quick midweek curry fixes.Mind you,i always batch cook gallons of the base sauce and have a fridge freezer in the mancave thats literally literally beer and base!!! Ive even thrown the base ingredients into a soup maker and boiled up the acni stock separately and rattled through that process in 30 mins. This korma looks great and intend to break my tradition and go 'mild' this week! Chunky air fryer chips and rice at the ready!! Hope you get well soon and look forward to your next production Al. Keep on Currying!
I made this tonight- Nov 19th and followed your recipe exactly and it was amazing. I also garnished with some crushed cashews. Thanks for sharing your passion and appreciate your channel. Best Wishes from Calgary, Canada 🇨🇦
Butter chicken next please AL mate, since I followed you from the start, its my birthday soon so having butter chicken for my dinner if you could help a brother out 🤣
You’ve knocked it out of the park with this one Al. Not my go to curry at all, but when I have one I enjoy it. On the other hand it’s the families favourite and wow, they have given it 10/10. Thanks pal
150ml Oil Small piece of cinnamon 1kg chicken breast 600g Onions. (Boiled and Blended) As per video. 3 tbsp garlic ginger paste 2 Tsp turmeric powder 3 Tbsp Al’s mix powder or Mild Curry powder 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala 2 Tbsp Natural yogurt 200ml + 1 Tin full fat Coconut milk 200ml of the onion water 1 Tsp Salt
Al!! Hope you survive your flu! I like the 'Pride' brand of coconut milk: I now always look at the coconut milk content as some brands are quite low in coconut milk (guar gum etc) by percentage. Boy, that's a big pot! Best Tony
Made today and it was lovely, had it with coconut, pineapple mango rice. Sprinkled with toasted almonds coconut and chilli flakes. Going to be a regular.
A good curry house near me, does a 'Sondia' dish, which is Korma with sliced with green chillies. So if you like a kick and a Korma, add some Chillies. A bad curry house near me uses desiccated coconut, never had it as I hate bounty bars, a texture thing. Tip top vid again Al.
Hi Al, your recipes and instructions are superb, totally idiot proof. I love the way you are super clear about everything, from measurements to techniques, cooking tools, ingredients, timings.... you need deserve a 1m + subscribes at least!
Love your series of the 30 minute curries . . I’ve tried several and am really pleased with the results . . I would love to see you do a 30 minute chicken and mushroom balti so I can make that too please !! Thanks mark
I was reading somewhere that there are many, many different kormas from different regions. What I'd like to see is a korma with plenty of heat, like the Indian equivalent of a Thai green curry if like. Great work as usual Al, thank you.
Cooked this tonight. Family loved it. There are layers of creaminess to this, but a good savoury background too. More of a chilli chicken man myself but this was really good as korma goes. Going to put a bit of Mr Naga in it later ...
That was amazing Al. All the family are korma lovers and they said it was as good as a sit down. I added the coconut block. Glad I did. Top man and thank you
Ok so I've ate all of your currys and they are fab can't wait to try this one! We had the chasni one AGAIN tonight! Any chance you could do a sagg aloo one 😊
@AlsKitchen I am an avid watcher of your channel, but haven't tried any of your recipes until tonight. My wife, having seen a couple of your videos said she fancied a Chicken Korma today, so I prepared everything and followed this recipe to the letter. What an absolute triumph! Better than many Kormas I have tasted in restaurants (insofar as I actually liked this one 😂) extremely tasty anf fulfilling. I will add less liquid next time, as it was a little runnier than I was expecting, but a total stunner tastewise. One of your spicier ones next! Thank you so much!!!
Making this right now. It smells delicious. i don't add sugar but will check and if it needs a little sweetness will add some hot mango chutney at the end. Also adding a thinly sliced green chilli at the end.
Thank you for your support! I'm glad to hear that my method of boiling and blending onions worked well for you. I'll definitely keep all the videos up so you can continue working through them. Keep up the great work!
Excellent video and series, looking forward to making this one, i've already made some of the other 30 mins and have to say that it's the best tasting curry ive had that wasn't a takeaway , blows away the supermarket stuff. Could you recommend an alternative to almond powder as we nut allergies in the household
I originally had to order the coconut milk powder, then started buying it at the local world foods shop, but now it's available in our local supermarket.
❤ how much coconut milk powder would you advise instead of the tinned milk? Also assume we would need to up the amount of onion water if using milk powder?
Hi Al …. Love your recipes. Ever think of putting the above steps and /or ingredients on to a PDF ready for sending direct to the printer. Be handy to have them on paper as we prep!! Keep up the good work
That looks gorgeous, but I haven't got any coconut milk or cream or yougurt or saffron. So I'm going to make a vindaloo with some leftover roast chicken.
I used the powdered coconut milk, the taste was excellent. Don't think I'll ever use the safflower as it is expensive and doesn't add to the taste as Al stated.
My wife said it was lovely.... take that it was a successful journey into the dark side of currys. Its was great actually, could be a family favourite. ❤
Just cooked that Al and it was amazing! Family loved it best korma ever fair play . Fingers crossed you get a chance to show us a butter chicken . Had to redeem myself after doing your chilli garlic a few weeks back nearly killed the kids 😂
Followed your recipe Al, let it stand in the fridge for a couple of days, meanwhile made the Punjabi curry. Reheated tonight with your onion salad. 10/10. Which olive oil you using now? Aldi/lidl. ? Not xtra virgin surely?
Made this for dinner this evening, the whole family loved it, tasted as good as any restaurant korma. Only suggestion is it was a bit too oily, ill drop to 80ml next time i make it :)
AL..These 30 min Curries are the Dogs doo doos I Love them All and they are really Good and this Comes from An Indian by Birth and Now in the Uk...I can see you doing some more of these In the Future as New Recipes Come Out....well done again👌
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying my 30-minute curry recipes. I'll definitely keep them coming as new recipes come out. Stay tuned for more delicious dishes!
Al If you use Maggies coconut powder how much onion water do you use is it an addition 400ml as you use 200 ML with the spice mix and do you add the coconut powder with the almond powder you can get maggies from Asda would you use 4 tablespoons of cocnut powder great video
hey al love ur channel..most indian takeaways dont use almond powder anymore due to allergies..you know as well as i korma is made into a paste u might get the occasional place make the korma gravy..but any al u doing well brother..hit me up i might have a few surprises for u to use on channel..all the best buddy.
I will be giving this one the taste test this weekend for sure. Just so that I have a mild curry available in my locker for the non spicy curry lovers that I sometimes have to cater for. Does this one freeze okay Al?
Going to try this curry in the next few days. The coconut total content seems elusive. The block is mentioned but not sure it’s needed with the milk/milk powder. Last time I used block format it was rancid tasting :/ Should the canned milk suffice? Plenty of almonds and cashews are going in for certain! Cheers
Not really in to korma. But you make this look delicious. So I think I’m going to give it a go. Haha. I picked up some safflower ages ago. I’ve never seen a need to use it until now 👍👍
I bought mine in Turkey where they call it safron, it really is as cheap as chips! I believe Amazon do it now on line. The red colour just bleeds into the yellow of the Korma it looks spectacular. I also added a few flaked almonds - a magnificent dish!
2 things, I tried the older recipe with the honey and just a tad of sugar, no mention of honey. second, I have seen people talk about the pans used. I use my pressure cooker bottom and if a lid is needed in the recipe I just lay the lid on top without sealing it.
I don't see why not. If you add it before any liquid is introduced I wouldn't want to burn it on the pan. So I'd say add it in with the onion water and mix in@@IfanEmyr
There's a couple ways I know to get a pretty good BIR Korma, surprisingly (well to me anyway) both routes use different ingredients, either way, my favourite is to add some slices of banana towards the end of cooking for my rendition of a Kashmiri Korma, just about any fruit works really.
Aldi's chicken korma was fantastic before shrinkflation obviously caused them to change the formula. They seemed to have reduced the coconut milk and replaced the lime juice with vinegar.
Not had a korma since the boil in the bag vesta's in the 70s.

Holy Karp you can cook a Missionary in that pot. Yummy.
150ml Oil
Small piece of cinnamon
1kg chicken breast
600g Onions. (Boiled and Blended) As per video.
3 tbsp garlic ginger paste
2 Tsp turmeric powder
3 Tbsp Al’s mix powder or Mild Curry powder
1/2 Tsp Garam Masala
2 Tbsp Natural yogurt
200ml + 1 Tin full fat Coconut milk
200ml of the onion water
1 Tsp Salt

Great series. Thanks Al .. Xmas is coming and I hope Santa brings me one of these cooking pots ... !! and I hope he brings everything you want.

Tip top vid again Al.
Made this tonight. Super easy and better tasing than most of the takeaways round my way!
Yum,hope you’re feeling better
I’ve made this at least 8 times since it came out. I add coconut powder and coconut milk. By far the best korma recipe
Wonderful!
Hi Al, your recipes and instructions are superb, totally idiot proof. I love the way you are super clear about everything, from measurements to techniques, cooking tools, ingredients, timings.... you need deserve a 1m + subscribes at least!
Beautiful stuff pal! Looks the absolute cocoNUTs! 🥥 👌🏼X
Love the quip about not being into nuts, contrary to popular opinion 😂😂😂 made me laugh

You must try the Royal Korma. Looks like you're a convert 👍
Looks banging 💛 so cooking this !! My favourite curry
Thank you Al xx
Love these blended onion base 30 min curries. Keep ‘em coming. Can we have a chicken Ceylon this style pls?
Brilliant, thanks for the instruction, Al.
Nice one mate. Best, Rik
Made this for Friday night dinner. 👌 spot on will make others.
cooked this curry it was great well done Al, 5 stars.
Making this right now. It smells delicious. i don't add sugar but will check and if it needs a little sweetness will add some hot mango chutney at the end. Also adding a thinly sliced green chilli at the end.
Please leave all the videos up so I can work through them. I've used your method of boiling and blending onions it works a treat thanks.
Thank you for your support! I'm glad to hear that my method of boiling and blending onions worked well for you. I'll definitely keep all the videos up so you can continue working through them. Keep up the great work!
Made this afternoon and it was mint! Defo need to try it with beef or lamb which is what I usually have it with from the takeaway.
Cheers Al 🥂

This is delicious Al. Thank you for your vids. Curry game changer
Just made your chicken Madras tonight. So will definitely give this one a go. Cheers Al
Another top video Al, thank you. Not a Korma fan myself, however, i shall defo try this one. YNWA ❤
I’ve really enjoyed every curry I’ve cooked so far , have you thought about writing a cook book ?
❤ how much coconut milk powder would you advise instead of the tinned milk? Also assume we would need to up the amount of onion water if using milk powder?
It’s in the description.
Thanks for this will try on monday I have a free day so perfect.
Another belter Al. Try crispy fried onions to garnish.
Made it tonight.... Verry verry nice!
Great content as always Al. Love it. Thank you for all the effort you put in to these for us. Hope you're not too poorly? All the best. Justin
Hi Al …. Love your recipes. Ever think of putting the above steps and /or ingredients on to a PDF ready for sending direct to the printer. Be handy to have them on paper as we prep!! Keep up the good work
I too would love z print button copy to use along with video.
Al, as ever looks & I'm sure it tastes amazing! Thanks for sharing! 🙂😋
Hi Al if you did want to use the coconut milk powder, how much would you use?
A glass of coconut milk powder needs 2Tbsp so 400ml would need 4Tbsp but you may need more onion water as its less liquid for the curry
Need to find a use for all the base gravy I've got in my freezer now.😢
That looks gorgeous, but I haven't got any coconut milk or cream or yougurt or saffron. So I'm going to make a vindaloo with some leftover roast chicken.
Another top notch video Al! I have to get the coconut milk cos I usually use milk powder and I want to follow the recipe. Hope you get better soon!
Hope you enjoy
I used the powdered coconut milk, the taste was excellent. Don't think I'll ever use the safflower as it is expensive and doesn't add to the taste as Al stated.
When boiling my onions, I add upwards of half a chicken stock cube and half teaspoon of my spice mix or garam masala
Al love the way you come across with all your cooking. I have been there with you from day one. Curry on Al
Great Recipe...
My favourite Al and the twist with the blended onion and the Saffron amazing 🎉👏
My wife said it was lovely.... take that it was a successful journey into the dark side of currys. Its was great actually, could be a family favourite. ❤
Amazing, as always.

Cracked me up Al! Can't believe your not into nuts!🤣😂 Going to give this a try tonight (the curry , not some nuts) Thanks as always.
Made this for dinner this evening, the whole family loved it, tasted as good as any restaurant korma.
Only suggestion is it was a bit too oily, ill drop to 80ml next time i make it :)
My daughter will appreciate it when I give this a try. Cheers mate 👍
I'm so glad to hear that your daughter will appreciate it! Let me know how it goes and if she enjoys it.
Great video Al when would you add the coconut block and does it replace anything or is it an extra ?
Great recipe Al, get well soon fella

I think you should edit the 'doo doo's' to 'doo dah's' which is what I _think_ you meant, otherwise it sounds as if this curry is a bit sh1t....🙃😄
🤣🤣 Yeah My Mistake.. They Certainly are Not a Bit S**T...as you Put it.. well worth The effort@@Red_Snappa
Pls upload your Powder Masala Recipes.. Eagerly Waiting..
Al
If you use Maggies coconut powder how much onion water do you use is it an addition 400ml as you use 200 ML with the spice mix and do you add the coconut powder with the almond powder you can get maggies from Asda would you use 4 tablespoons of cocnut powder great video

I heard they use poppy paste or sesame paste instead of almond or cashew paste now
Cheers for this mate. Other half loves korma 👍
I will be giving this one the taste test this weekend for sure. Just so that I have a mild curry available in my locker for the non spicy curry lovers that I sometimes have to cater for.
Does this one freeze okay Al?
Looks great Al 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My spices from Spicy Joe have just arrived- that’s tomorrow’s meal sorted ✔️
Dipuraja chicken korma as always been my number 1 to go to. I'll give this a go tho al 😊
Definitely doing this tomorrow
Contrary to popular belief I don't like nuts 😂
The curry looks great Al can't wait to try it!
Thank you
Hi folks. So gonna attempt the korma this weekend but can only get ground almond. Will this be ok instead of powder? Thanks.
I love the music getting more intense as Al gets less able to speak
These are fantastic recipes and will cook this korma again later on for my fiancee
Great 👍
If I have the coconut milk powder do I still need the coconut milk? Or does anything change? Or is it just extra?
Going to try this curry in the next few days. The coconut total content seems elusive. The block is mentioned but not sure it’s needed with the milk/milk powder. For the coconut you can use "santen" as well (indonesian).
Hi Al did you used to work at Airline taxi's Leeds many moons ago?
Loving your recipes, all my friends and family think I'm better than restaurant's 😅
Never worked there lol
Just found this looks yum but how much salt
This weekend I’m doing the Dishoom Ruby but this is next for me.
Cooking this today, Al could I use base gravy instead of the onions as I have some already made up. Looks delicious 😋
People have done this and reported back good things.
2 things, I tried the older recipe with the honey and just a tad of sugar, no mention of honey. second, I have seen people talk about the pans used. I use my pressure cooker bottom and if a lid is needed in the recipe I just lay the lid on top without sealing it.
Hi Al! I have coconut milk powder so I think I will use that instead of milk. How much should I use?
9 tablespoons but you'll need 500ml of the onion water too
Thanks very much Al :)@@AlsKitchen
Would you add the coconut milk powder same time as you would add the coconut milk if you use powder instead of milk? Thanks
I don't see why not. If you add it before any liquid is introduced I wouldn't want to burn it on the pan. So I'd say add it in with the onion water and mix in@@IfanEmyr
