We have a 2011 HHR LT with 130,000 miles on it. I love its styling, space, etc... Had it for 9 years.. Interior door handles are a problem. Never close the door with the door handle. Always use the arm rest and you will be okay. As for highway driving, it does really well, cruises smoothly at 70... and we get 29 MPG. I highly recommend it for interstate travel, not just for city or town driving... A fun useful car to have...
I'm going to test drive an '11 HHR and this is the first video I watched on RUclips. Great job! You highlighted the car well, and you were very relatable.
I have a 2011 hhr panel and it is fine. I have used it for an everyday vehicle while my other car was in the shop. It is very dependable. I think it is mostly the earlier models like the 06 and 07 that had the most problems. I am currently looking for a 2011 regular hhr.
i have a 2011 with 120,000 miles and the only problem i have had is broken [plastic!!] door handles. i get 34 mpg at 60 miles an hour, much less in town. it carries a lot of stuff for a small car. so far it has been great.
Can I ask what exactly breaks? Is it the interior or exterior handles? Both? I use my HHR for work and I've been buying spare parts here and there just in case I need them so I don't have to wait weeks for parts.
I have a 2011 HHR LT and drive on the highway. It is a good car for local and highway driving. My drive on the highway are 5 to 6 hour trips and speeds between 65 and 75 MPH. Love this little basic car. It gets the job done and if they were still produced , I would buy another one.
I'm going to test-drive a 2011 HHR today. I actually love the body style; but of course that's not the only consideration in buying a car. Will try to be meticulous and objective.
I own a 2006 HHR Got it cheap, but love the car! I think you gave it an accurate review, by the way, and interesting point HHR stands for "Heritage High Roof" the HHR took styling features from the Chevy coups of the 30's and 40's that didn't have the low roof design of more modern cars today
I own a 2011 HHR LT 2.4 with 146070 kilometers on it. What sold me on this car sure wasn't the looks, it was the crash test results. I'm guessing I bought a Wednesday car. Look after your car and it will look after you.
I have an 08 HHR LT and I can get deep into the 40mpg range on the highway. It has the 2.2 litre engine. Ok car generally but Chevy cut corners on quality wherever they could. Visibility sucks, many blind spots, endless issues with cv joints, front end components in general. Thankfully the Ecotec motor and transmission have been fine. With fold-flat seats you can put a lot of stuff inside. I mean lots! I was a courier for a couple years, regularly would haul 700 lbs worth of restaurant bulk food products; sacks of flour, cases of soy sauce, tubs of seasonings etc...the car was up to the task. Even most pickups can't do that as there's no crime or weather protection. I recently sold the car back to the dealership from which I bought the car. It had 202,000 miles on it and the engine, cooling system and transmission were still great.
I hear you on the front end problems. So far I haven't had any issues with the axles but struts, bushings, etc. have all been a non-stop pain in the ass. Only on the passenger side though for some reason. The car's never been crashed that I know of.
I have mixed feelings on this car. The drivetrain has been very reliable, but the rest of the car is a junk heap. Headlights are a huge PITA to replace as well.

I'm getting an HHR in the next month or so. I love them and I can't wait - and yes, it's based on the 1949 Suburban. Great video :-)

Found a 2011 hhr lt sport wagon 4d with 76k mileage a couple of hours from me at a reasonable price, worth looking into it or not

Fantastic review!!! Thank You for posting!!
I use a 2008 LS Panel for mail delivery. Its not exactly the best car but it does the job. I Definitely need something a bit bigger.
GM screwed up by using a compact platform for this. Supposed to look like the first Suburban.
