    Finally... a dinosaur bone that ain’t a fossil... that one had meat on it!!!
    Frank, I’ve never driven old Case tractors. My family was all Farmall... but I share your joy in bouncing across the field on a steel seat atop a hunk of US Iron. Can’t wait to see her work!!!

      Well I’m hoping to get some cushion on that seat! Lol. Nothing wrong with a farmall in my book, but I’ll never forget riding a case like this one with my mom driving. Heat, dust diesel smoke nothing like it!!!

    First Tractor I ever ran was one just like it. I was 11 yrs. old. Pulled two one-ways tied together. My Dad found a cab that fit it and we put it on. Pretty fancy back then. Great project, wish I was there to help you rebuild. Sure brings back some great memories. Thanks and good luck.

    I'm sure your aware but incase your not the injection pump on that tractor requires its own oil as it's a early 930. At the bottom of the pump you'll see a drain plug on the govenor housing and you'll see a line coming off the bottom making a loop up behind the pump then down to the ground that's the overflow line. My early 830 takes just under a pint of oil (4 cylinder pump) use what ever oil you use in the crank case (15w40) the original working was to slowly add oil until it comes out that overflow line. The round breather cap behind the last injection line on the pump is the oil fill for the pump. Its common to have allot of diesel in the injection pump oil my 830 seems to have a billion hours I change the injection pump oil atleast a few times per engine oil change

    Hey, hey, Mr. Cunningham,
    good to see a video from you sir. Looks to me like a good find, there in that unit. A man/person, whatever don't need to explain or justify a purchase such as this, to anyone (cept maybe in your case, your other half, "she who must be obeyed", hahaha, and I will include myself in this category as well), but that aside, this is a great unit.

    Had an old man who run a salvage tell me this one. On a froze up engine poor coca cola in cylinder. Let it sit a few days then it will crank over and push coke out. Coca cola eats the rust away. I have done this on 4 old engines now works well.

  • @timebert6141

    I like marvel mystery oil or marvel mystery oil mixed 50/50 with acetone. For straight down the exhaust in an old diesel just MMO that baby. Nothing in the MMO that can hurt anything in the engine. If it passed the rings and ended up in the crank case no problem. When the dried out cylinders are wet with it and it helps lubricate the dry rings perfect. When it burns with the fuel it is gone in smoke! I suggest putting some in the fuel to help lubricate the whole top end on an engine that has not run in a long time! If it does not help it doesn't but it won't destroy anything..

    • @Digginok

      I have always liked the smell of mmo, good stuff!

    • @timebert6141
      @timebert6141 4 года назад

      @@Digginok There is something about the smell I like very much. The lubricity of MMO is great in old engines that were designed to actually have lubricants in the fuel. I had issues with sticking valves on a flathead in a pipeline rig. An old timer said to use MMO in the fuel it would solve my problems, it did.

    • @timebert6141
      @timebert6141 4 года назад

      Diesel fuel has changed so much since that tractor was new. 20 years ago if you spilled diesel on the shop floor you had a mess to clean up now you can use diesel fuel to clean up a mess! Take all the oil out of your diet and you will run great for a while, lean right out. Do that for to long and you will dry out have a heart attack and die. We are killing engines by taking the healthy fats out of their fuel! Who else remembers spraying diesel fuel on bare metal to keep it from rusting? In Ohio we sprayed everything. Truck frames, fertilize spreader carts, inside dump truck beds, gate hinges, plows the list goes on ad nauseum

    Hey guy just a thought if you wanted to spend the time, lve used JB weld and some black powdered laundry dye mixed in for that steering wheel.
    Some rubber gloves to push it in and conture the surface might do the trick to clean up those cracks
    Then sand it off .?

      Thanks for the tip, not sure if I want to try the restoration on a rare steering wheel myself though. I bet I would screw it up!

    Basically the same tractor as our 1957 Case 600. Same engine, transmission, hand clutch, and chain drive for final reduction in the transmission.

      Pretty close to the same thing, I think the 930 had a few more cubic inches, it has a 401. I bet most parts would interchange.

    We always had Allis and farmall and every now and then Oliver and massy small ones to pull a hay rake or wagon. The neighbors had John Deere and case and every now and then we would end up with one because they borrowed ours and left theirs for us to use and I hated those old two lung'er and hand clutch tractors like those. It would be fun to redo one just for kicks but your more of a man than me to run one all day.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Love to hear stories from the days I missed out on. We never had a farmall, but my dad had a td14a and 15-151 dozers. He farmed a lot of acres with a D John Deere 3 bottom plow, ran day and night, back before I can remember.
