Bet all them belts are rust welded to pulleys but she’s turning she’s going to need some work but it will be worth it
Also Cummins can be ran without power to fuel solenoid by turning screw in
@@hellknight2500hd é um Cummins??
Quantos hp??
With as much as you guys do this, you should consider a battery caddy. I would build a cart with some wheels and welding cables with eye bolts so you can bolt direct to the starter. Big enough for 4 batteries would let you put two (low amp) into the chasis.
Excellent idea but don't stop there, set it up for 6, 12 and 24 volt! With some home made warning stickers... "WATCH YOUR POLARITY" and "IS THIS A NEGATIVE GROUND SYSTEM?"
The ambulance service I used to work for had battery caddy on a golf cart with a float charger. The central office had about 30 ambulances that still managed to go dead even when plugged in.
The most reliable thing about a battery is that they will go flat at the worst possible time, new or not.
Fantastic idea!
I like how it bolts in his face and hank starts laughing that had me laughing pretty hard and its funny his when he started and starting mooing 17:29

I learned you always bleed the lines cause there’s always air in it after it’s so so long.
Wiley time to get away from him.... He's looking at your nuts...
😂😂😂
What a Machine!! That was a ton of fun!
For sure. Thanks for the comment buddy
Awesome to see you two give it another shot! These old tractors are sick! Thanks for another awesome video and God bless
Thanks for watching!
Dumping anything in the valve compartment won't help the cylinders. It all drains to the crankcase.
like how they energized a mechanical injection pump with a single wire lol
Great video, I would have never thought dumping the oil over the valves. I have a old John Deere 4010 diesel that has a locked up engine I'm working on and I was trying to get the injectors out and can't seem to get them out so I may try pulling the valve cover and dumping the oil in the way you guys did and give it a go to free it up.
We don’t know what we’re doing 😂 we just get lucky
If y'all wanna come out to Arizona you can do a video on the Deere 4010 lol
That engine had two beavers and a chipmunk living in It.
I sure enjoy watching and listening to you lads bringing old iron back to life. Would like to see it up and working again when that happens if you can.
👍
Thats awesome guy's, never thought, after part 1, that the old beast would crank
FORGET alternator belts, the RATS in the bell housing are pushing the flywheel opposite your direction everytime they see the bar slide in where you took a chunk of their roof out.
Good job Hank and Wiley I would say ole sparky but that's the electric chair lol you guys got this running with a bird nest in the disconnected exhaust lol awesome farm find. Shows you never know whatcha gonna find doing these things 👍🤣😂
The old big tractors are great no computers either.
I'm enjoying your vids guys.
Thanks!
Looks like an MT40 starter...i have some very painful memories of changing one of those out in single digit temps. My hands hurt just thinking about it
Just get it started, I pulled a rice cart in the rice fields when I was 15 years old and making 16.00 per day, back in 1978! That Steiger was a badass tractor backyard in the day! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
This was a other great video I love all you're video and can't wait every week to see one ❤️ and still be amazed how you can get it to run only the singing this time was a extra bonus but you're are great mechanics God bless
Thanks for this entertainment
Hank, Since you seem to like big vehicles, why didn't you get a life sized Elvis? Plus, if you'd gotten a life sized Elvis, he'd be easier to find. Lol . As always, all the best to everyone. Chef Scott 👩🍳
Load up that turbo with penetrating oil through the oil line connection and you might be able to save it. It didn't look sloppy in the video, just hard to turn. Anyway great job on it!
There might be a clod of soil down at the bottom of the flywheel that was holding it solid, after you showed us the flywheel teeth all plugged up with dirt, that gave me that idea. Didn't know you had a mule kick Hank, that was pretty good! Might have to look for another intake boot for the customer now, but I have faith in you 🙂
Lol. We took care of him 👍
good evening gents, that magic oil is too expensive to waste, you need to get it in the cylinders [injectors out] , not just filling the sump with it, which probably do more harm than good.
seriously impressed with the kung-fu kick mind.....
That engine, and most other engines spin clockwise when looking at the pulley end of the crankshaft. Some Honda, and several marine specialty engines are the beginning of the exceptions.
The flywheel housing of that Cummins will have a covered hole where you can insert an engine turning tool that a person would us a breaker bar or ratchet on.
The bell housing full of dirt is a partial indication that the inspection cover at the bottom was left off, which allows the spinning clutch to act like a vacuum cleaner while the engine is running. This leads to not being able to adjust the clutch for wear, and I promise that that one has a bad case of stuckage. I’m not talking about the discs stuck to the pressure plate and flywheel, and there may be a large dose of that too.
I remember when tractors like that were common to a few of our neighbor farmers when I was younger, and the few new ones at the dealers.
New starter? Delco Remy 8200308 gear reduction and lighter than the steel 42MT that came out.
The air intake is like thatto keep it away from the exaust, that way it dont suck in its own exaust fumes.
Hank, y'all know we all ❤️ you, but put a leash on Willie sos he don't get away. Y'all are perfectly matched and fun teasing between you two cracks me up. It's like working with my buddies, we tease.👍👍👍👍
Great job that you could bring that old steiger back to life so it can be saved . It wouldnt take much to make it a working tractor again and its cheap power in this day and age
Yeah he’s supposed to load it up soon and work on it
Crack the drain plug and check for coolant.
,Turn the engine by the acce as sorry drive...
Man yeah!! Probably the best video yet. You guys are great an God bless you both.
Thanks buddy!
Hank you Guy's are the best, that was great, I smiled when I seen that baby crank. Great video as always!
Thanks buddy!
You are very welcome!
Well done guys and thank you for trying again to start this tractor and taking us along on this journey, God Bless! 🙂
Thanks for watching buddy!
Thanks Hank and Wiley for a great job best entertainment I've seen all day thanks again
Thanks buddy
You have to spill sacrificial blood to make those work.
Hank you and Whilley never give up that was a runner and it ran that was fantastic that was a combat engine more blood coming from you guys then it was running but you beat him and it ran the birds were safe in the making of this video great job guys and made my day.
Thanks buddy
Great job, you got that engine going. This was a pretty tough one. The battery set up was perfect, love it ! That starter solenoid needs some cleaning and bit of lube so it doesn't get stuck.
That was entertaining!
I laughed with you guys through the first half of the video.
👍🏼😆🤣
Right on
9:56 The pulley is a much shorter radius from the rotational center of the pulley's shaft so you won't notice movement as much as you do from the end of the long fan blade. The difference in arc length of 1 degree of movement at 1" from the center of the shaft versus 24" from the center of the shaft is 24x...
Don't waste your time w these idiots.
I just watched the Inmate interview with Doug Steiger this morning, it's a really good story. Good vid again guys.
What relationship does that have with this machine just curious.a hamilton farm fanatic?
@@allensnook7760 I'm glad you asked because I misspelled "intimate" interview with Doug Steiger, Witch is the founder of Steiger. And Hamilton Farm is mint.
Well done what a result and no baby birds were harmed in the making of this film 👍👍👍
True😁
Good stuff. Man do power tools make life so much easier
For sure
Wow. Thanks for another super super video. Most interesting and enjoyable.
Wow and wow and wow.
You two worked really hard getting this one going.
It was stubborn but in the end you two got it going. Glad the motor will have a second life.
Hats off to Hank and Wiley and your friend that came to help.
My compliments to all of you.
Good job done.
You both take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything.

i got a tip for you when using ether on a diesel crank the engine over first then spray it in the intake. if you look when you where trying to start it around 19 minuets you can see the fan turning the wrong way against the starter. thats because the ether combusted but it combusted before tdc forcing the engine the wrong way. when you crank the engine over first then spray it the waght of the flywheel helps the starter overcome the pressure of the ether pushing the engine the wrong way.
Damn that was cool!! I was sad when you guys found it stuck in the first video. I love those old tractors!!
Those green Steigers are some of the best tractors ever built, Imagine the codes a red Steiger would throw if you tried to start one like this :D The Green ones were from a better time, when the engineers were in charge, not the accountants :( Also I don't care what the salesmen say, I reckon a 525 Tiger would pull a 600 QuadTrack backwards, especially with modern Tyres, all without needing 15 software updates and 10 annual subscriptions to login and start it :P
BS & $$$$ .... perverse minds
At 6:04, Hank demonstrates proper "Shade tree mechanicin'" YESSSSS! Hey, ya gotta know how to do it! Be as comfortable as you can in difficult spaces :))
Mechanical design that just doesn't make good sense: "Engineer stuff" - Wiley!!!
"IT'S ALIVE" - Dr. Hankinstein with the help of his trusty companion Wileygor
Lol
Lol the donkey kick
I’m basically a third degree black belt. 😂
You two guys (the Dynamic Duo) are simply amazing. I must confess, I really didn't think you were going to get it running. Enjoyed as always.
Lol. We just get bigger hammers 😂 always enjoy your comments Terry
love your videos out here in california. sounds like you got a good group of guys. god bless you all.
Thanks much
You boys sure seem to have the magic touch.could make good money off off your services.😁
Where's big'n and the rest of the original crew?
Now its just you and walley
Tommy is working and fishing. Big ‘n was just a buddy that helped us once or twice. Brandell moved away. Life happens. It’s cool to work with all these different folks. Thanks for watching 👍
@@HamiltonvilleFarm i understand how life changes.i got married for the 1st time last july.now helping raise 3 kids.

What is going one there?
I don't recall Wylie ever getting musical before!
Hank the 'I used to think you was crazy' joke was worth a chuckle!
😂
Just kick the shit out of it.🤣😂🤣
That was awesome to see. What a monster!
Thanks buddy.
Need a longer pipe there laddie!!!! We had a 6' pipe that we used when we were doing suspension work on the big trucks.....lol
She was being stubborn but in the end she was makin oil and decided to cooperate. Well done fellas
That’s right
Man you guy's are just getting too professional now , great job 👍👍🇺🇸
Lol. Thanks for watching!
may God bless you your family all your friends in Jesus name may God bless you to get this started with no problem in Jesus name remember Jesus loves you and I appreciate you for being on your channel I love you in Jesus name God bless
Thanks brother 🙏
@@HamiltonvilleFarm baby since I've been on your channel I have been asking Jesus to help you bless you your family and help you to get all of this equipment and use it on your farm
My goodness, you guys sure manage to get a variety of older machines running. Sometimes with just a little TLC us old folks can do it like in the good ole days.
That’s right!
You two are closer to being mechanics than singers. 😁 Keep the great videos coming. God bless you!
Oh lawd!!!
They aren't singers. They're sangers!
Al least that hose did not break your leg.HA HA HA.
😎👍😂
I love watching you guys bring back old motors to life. I am an old sailor from the early 70's.
Thanks
Thanks for your service
Glad you got it fired up. Somewhere there is a stuck Farmall that needs pulled out.
Yeah buddy that's what I'm talkin about acts like it wasn't getting any fuel way to go guys
Glad to see it up running again must b the most difficult 1 to get going as yet Well done guys keep up the good work
Thanks 👍
It cost extra if someone comes back bleeding
These old things require a blood sacrifice before starting as well as repeating the three magic words.
Wild old rig, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Love watching these videos. a great job yall, thanks for bringing us along this journey again.
Thanks buddy !

Man I love y'all's adventures. I man can tell when two fellas are cut from the same cloth you and Wylie are like two 50 series batteries in a diesel soaked battery box. Hooked up parallel. Love y'all. Thanks for sharing y'all's adventures.
Lol. Thanks for watching!
Good Mornin Yall Howboucha Great Video do Yall think you could put a driveshaft on the back PTO & spin it over with a pipewrench ? i dont have a tractor yet just try,n help /learn what happend to Wileys truck in Alabama when You had to pick him up? i have the same truck just wondering Have a Great Day Thanks for all te Great Videos
You remind me of my mom from Tennessee.... One day I was listening to House of the rising sun by The animals their version Eric burdon..... When my mom comes in singing it.... And I said I didn't know you liked rock and roll.....she said do you think that is the first time that songs ever been done.....
and she starts telling me all the different versions of it all the way back to the 1800s... Hank Williams..
For you guys that Marvel mystery oil. would be cheaper by the gallons for y'all right? I would just add on A rubberized replacement breather tube.,or get the dimenations of it length.& width size wise. Then one can be made out of fiber glass again. Customized to fit that engine.
Sweet music when she finally came back to life great job 👌
Why did you pour Marvel Mystery Oil on the rocker arms? Wouldn't regular oil lube better? And, wouldn't it be better to get the MM oil inside the cylinders somehow, instead of having it just run down into the crankcase?
Opa 😃 não perco nenhum vídeo top muito bom está máquina pelo jeito está muito tempo abandona ainda bem que tem vcs dois para dar vida a está máquina 👍
Great job getting it broke loose take care and God bless
Thanks
Ohhhh! That will cost you dearly. I'll have to get with Wiley in corporate council. The board my want to suspend you but me and Wiley will do what we can for you.😃
hahaha chicken and macaroni lol hots and bologna lol you guys are so funny.. I always enjoy the show
Right on
Great video always excited to see you two working together
Thanks 🙏
"engineerin stuff" Lol! You have to wonder how anything runs when it is design by a college grad who never worked with the equipment they've designed...
Excelleny video I enjoyed watching it i need a big tractor like that to push canetrucks in 🇧🇿 Belize
If y’all came to Washington I got some stuff you could tinker with, there’s also a giant excavator that’s been sitting for about 10+ years
What are you dumping the oil on? What do you think is stuck in this engine? Certainly not the rockers.
How could I get you guys to myrtle beach to help me with a cat 3208 ..?I ran great when I turned it off..
Excellent video Hank :) & Wiley :) and it alive and well to for sure possible but working on farm soon to!
Why do you guys keep dropping marvel mystery oil in the valve covers it's not getting into the cylinders the only way you get into the cylinders is to pull the injectors out and then you can pour some in there and try and work it back and forth let it sit for a week or two really all you're doing is just pouring it over the rocker arms and it's running over the outside of the cylinder head down into the crankcase and that's doing nothing... Are you guys doing that just to look good on camera to marvel mystery oil..... Hell you might as well take a bath in it pour it all over the tractor on the outside see that you're stopping rust...
Always enjoyable watching you two getting stuck in starting all these equipment. The banter between you guys makes it better to watch lol. Cheers gents from down under
Cheers mate
Low voltage = high amperage and a ruined starter . Most starters go because the battery voltage is low
Why does someone leave a tractor going to waist? I mean I never find something like this in Holland,Europe! It’s not making any sense to me.
I f its unthawed does that mean it is still frozen? I heard it is illegal to dizturb nesting birdz..... not a problem so far.God Bless you boys.
That engine looks like it's in remarkably good condition but it has very few hours on it.... How to be easy to get it to run as in just put a battery in it and crank it you'll develop oil pressure almost instantaneously because that's what they do and that'll lube your top end so you don't have to worry about it so actually if it takes a little while to crank that's lubrication time spreading the oil all over the whole thing so you don't even have to worry about lubing the top and just make sure that it's primed she did with some quick start make sure they have good batteries on it and that will run
LMAO, and I thought my mind was twisted. Love the nuts joke. Keep up the great work
Great video hank and whiley great to see the engine going great fun to watching cheers you guys can't wait to see next adventure what happens
Thanks much!
Out of marine cat fiber glass matting.& strand fibers& epoxy& resin mixtures.
“We’re gonna make it an electric fuel pump” on an old Cummins with a PT injection pump 🤣
Engineer’s suck and make stupid things in stupid places… been a machinist for some time and they always make it harder or over engineer it.
Hi guys
I saw the last part of the video and I saw that the turbo is stuck, in this case, I hit the end of the turbo shaft a few times from the side of the exhaust, and the turbo is freed and starts spinning.
Worth over $20k bet breather tube for turbo costs $2k
Wow great job guys getting that thing unstuck and running and it runs ok again nice work fellas and God Bless....
Thanks 🙏
Hank why not go back out to that boneyard that you were trying to crank that Cummins engine that was seized and it was a washout. But im betting the turbo would still be good on that froze engine so why not rob it off and put on this Steiger and then be where we see you drive it around before it goes to its new home????
How clean the valve cover is... Nice... No fucking carbon like new engine running on 0w20
I’m sure you fellers have gotten comments about this but if you get some trans fluid into the cylinders and let it sit for a bit it will break lose easier and do less damage to the cylinder walls when it finally does break lose. But I’m loving these videos none the less.
