Nice job, the nail set came out better than I thought it would. The knurling on that set is amazing too. I also thought the way you cleaned the tip with a Dremel bit was a stroke of genius.

It does look more blue. Good to see you using a clean cotton ball for each dip into the container, don't want to contaminate the whole bottle.

The nail set looks great and I agree that there is more of a blue tint to the Oxpho0Blue than the Birchwood Casey nail sets. From what I can see the polishing with the steel wool and the coating with oil seemed to level out the finish. Thanks for sharing this review.

Thanks for the video. The nail set cleaned up very well. It looks so much better with a cold blue application.
I have to get a cold blue product, perhaps this Oxpho-blue, looks very easy to apply. Good idea to apply a coat of oil afterwards. Non-detergent oil is very useful in the shop and for some machines.

Complete transformation! I really like the knurling too. The oxpho-blue looks to have a darker finish than the others and comparing it side by side looks to be the best hands down. Brownells is a great company for gunsmithing as you know, so it makes sense they’d have a dialed-in blueing product. 👍

Great review! This stuff is the stuff in my opinion.... according to their site you can use it right over the rust.. and it converts it and blues it. Though I haven't done that as the results are better prepped then blued... I blue the item, let it dry hit with wool, if it needs more.. blue again spray with WD40 and let dry... I have no reason behind that other then it's just what I do..haha. nice episode Good Stuff!

Birchwood Casey's Super Blue was one of the first cold bluing products I tested. Their directions recommended denatured alcohol so I've used that in every review to maintain consistency.
