    The Contraption rocks 😅 I reckon it’s safer than the normal spring compressors. Fingers crossed she rides better. Nice pressie for your dad too 😊

    You can get a double hook compressor, which will stay on the spring much better than those single hook ones.
    But you dont need it, because the contraption is a win 👌🏻

    i suppose you could flip it upside down and use a shop press to compress the spring?

    • @JonCoupland
      @JonCoupland  5 месяцев назад

      A good idea! We sadly didn't have a press until a bit later on

    Do the Painted Red Calipers, add 5kw?

    If anything, I would say that "The Device" looks slightly safer than those spring compressors as everything is held together in alignment.

    You could definitely see that there was more “give” or bounce in the old springs when Mr C Snr was shoving down on them against the floor…

    What's your bottom jaw with that contraption I've seen one hanging off BCOS of a suspension spring.⚠️ Wasn't a good look at all.

    I think Pete's quality of life would be greatly improved if he had a lidl parkside plasma cutter. Think of the things he could cut!

    I call them clamps window maker's. I have a set of them they do work but if they let go the spring takes of i have the same crawler hope your Dad finds it really useful 😊 I have freind who has a better one for clamping springs i think he said he paid around £80 of evil bay.

      @AliMackMechanical 8 месяцев назад +1

      I bought an cordless Angle Grinder from Lidl parkside seems decent enough tool for the money. Don't get your Dad a plasma cutter😂.

    Your dad should really be wearing a mask when spraying that stuff as it cant be good if he breaths that in , Glad the 450 Smart is coming along well , I prefer the older one to the newer one it looks lighter and more nippy

    Replaced my shocks And Struts on my 2008 smart car with Japanese made KYB gas charged Shocks they’re not sensitive like oil Shocks thicken in the winter and ride like a cement block on the other hand the KYB shock rides beautiful all year around another thing that really bothered me about the smart car is The side of the motor where the pulleys and serpentine belt is has no protector shield so the road crud gets thrown up on the pulley and belt. System is also not good for the crank seals so I made my own protector shield to keep the side of the motor clean from all road debris Mercedes never should’ve had it that way, but I still love my Mercedes shit box
