For someone whose never had a rear wheel drive car, the front axle looks very odd without drive shafts. Great work "DAD" again, who makes every job look easy to us novices.
Well done Jon and Pete again another great repair on the smart and will make so much difference to ride and handling and will be like a new car. Penny is gorgeous and is a video star already and relishing being the deputy inspector 🤣🤣 hope she and crystal are getting on ok all the best to you all Daniel
Your dad says it drives like a new car so it is money well spent. I had to change a couple of front control arms on my Mercedes C200 (MoT advisory items) and I noticed the difference straight away. The front wheel alignment will need to be checked and adjusted. Don't wait until you fit new front tyres unless you're going to be changing them very soon.
To be fair the old control arm was a lot better quality than the cheap pressed Comline item so ideally press in new bushes on these…. I don’t think they have a very hard life in the little RWD Smart….
@@JonCoupland OK ! Hard to judge quality I guess without trusting a brand but OEM German probably better metal and rubber.. so you're presumably on the 3rd one for that side of the car, even though the droplink was possibly original ?
@@JonCoupland ihad to change mine a few months back, and changing the upper ones i was worred about, only because i thought about tracking until i looked at them. dont even need to touch the tracking, bottom ones are slightly harder cause the bolts are hidden behind the back plate but its not a difficult job at all 😁
What do you reckon?
What a transformation , Well done Dad. I wish he was my neighbour.
Not the first person to say that!

New tyres have been fitted this week :)
I've found some drop links have flats for a spanner on the inside edge and some use a Torx bit in the end.
Ah interesting. This didn't appear to have neither somehow?!
I bet it drives like a new car 😊I did like what your Dad Said about the pharmacy 😂😂
It certainly does 😂
It’s pretty much a new car anyway with all the new parts
Yup 🤣
Front ride height looks a lot better
VERY much so

The one we replaced was also cheap and aftermarket and not OEM 👍

@@johnmoruzzi7236 sadly owing to the lack of service history when I bought the car ... were pretty much having to guess
nearly a new car now
Yup
did you know that the bottom ball joints and the upper ball joints which are to do with the track rod end are the same part number
I do now 👍😊

Trigger's Broom! 😂
Pretty much 🤣
Sounds like the lufywaffe were mowing the grass in this video 😂
😂😂 our neighbour likes to ride around on his ride on for fun
Surely Penny is The Acting Inspector?
Deputy 😄
About as useful as an Assistant Pharmacist….
There will always be something else to be done/ improved. 😅
Absolutely - keeps Dad busy eh
Valentino Rossi 😂
😁
Should be okay for another seven & a half…. Minutes
What could possibly go wrong next 😂
This has made me excited to get my bushes etc done on my Roadster (one day)
It will make such a difference
