Nappyheaded Josh there is no such thing as "burning and replacing fat with muscle". You can strengthen and grow your muscles through exercise and enough calories/ protein. You lose fat by decreasing the amount of calories you consume. You can do all the core exercises in the world but if your body fat is too high you won't have defind abs. Doing planks will burn NOWHERE near enough calories to put anyone close to a calorie deficit. So you need to cut calories in order to achieve the leaness needed to see core muscle definition. Does that make sense? I'm not the best at explaining things. Fat and muscle are two different things that work separately. You grow your muscles w working out and you lose body fat by being in a calorie deficit :)
Bye B You should also consider that spot reduction is a myth and you can't only burn fat in an specific area of your body . Also skinny fat guys have a hard time getting abs because they need to reduce body fat while putting on muscle and that's kind of tricky. Sorry for my English I'm still learning
@@christos1698 i agree with you, slight difference is something instead doing nothing so u do not have slight difference if you do this for at least 3 moths u could see a quite difference
They're not, but they did show a better posture in the after pictures. Which is one of the reasons as to why people have back pain etc. So if you can do this one minute for just a month, and THAT will increase your posture: it's worth it.
After a couple of months I can do an average of 3:30 on a bad day and 4:45-5 on a good day, longest ever as of today was 5:25 and I’m lowkey proud of me?! It’s very rewarding
I guess it's true that planking never really shrink your tummy but i still keep doing it so my core would get stronger and to avoid back pains and i noticed my posture is better now.
i've been doing planks and a 3:30 min ab workout right after that. it really burns and you go nonstop, that way your muscle fibers break and regrow bigger, creating stronger and more defined abs. the pain is what makes you better. i've been yearning the pain and it's weird to say, but i am always wanting to feel the pain in my abs or legs if i'm running.
I'm 13 I have been doing a plank for at least a minute every day for 2 months now I can now hold up to 3 minutes before it starts to burn! In my opinion it does get better but not until after doing them for at least a month.
Just because you're not "cut" doesn't mean your core isn't stronger than before, which improves your balance, gait, and overall confidence....you'd see more of a different, the longer you do it, (increased time too) not just 30 days.
Berry D yup exactly! After every week they should have added at least 30 seconds. Strengthening your core removes a lot of issues with misalignment and injury, which would make them more inclined to workout possibly. There were also too many contributing factors they didn't consider could affect their results. Plus we all know abs are made in the kitchen. They are already pretty fit so I don't get why they had such high expectations.
You can see their posture has improved but planks are not used for weight loss but to build core strength... So the only thing improved is their posture which is also very good!
I am a 61 year old man who works out for 45 min. almost every day because of a lower back injury. I have been doing this for a few years now and people are regularly amazed when I tell them my age. They usually think I am in my late 40's.
FYI I've been holding a 5 minute plank every day for a week now and it is getting easier. Just because she says it never got easier for her don't let her experience keep you from starting your own routine. Plank on homies!
You definitely can. Sticking with it is harder than giving up halfway through, but the end result is much more satisfactory. YOU did it. YOU. Nobody else. It can help show you that anything is possible with hard work and the desire to change.
They're doing it for money and work. They're making a video you know? That's motivation! I work in a health store so it motivates me to be healthy. Document your process or record it as though you were showing it to an audience.. maybe that could work. Also write it on a piece of paper and stick it near your bed so you remember to do it! I'll try too
I tried this And although I didn’t see much difference on the outside, I was considerably stronger. Before I could barely do push-ups and after it was so much easier. It also made me feel better about myself and it felt good that you can see the progress (and then I mean you notice you can plank for longer). In the schedule I used there were rest days, you will need them.
I've done planks for about a minute for the last 4 days, and have seen results :) My torso is more "curved in" at the sides and defined. I don't think I could hold it for 3 minutes tho...but I'll probably give it a try!
I did that a few years ago, 10 min planks everyday for 3 months. I can say there were changes. I did have more strenght and abs BUT if you don't watch what you eat, the fat around your belly doesn't go away, even if you got abs underneath x'D We can see a BIG difference in this video: Knowing the belly fat remains the same, we can still see the abs (the muscle) tighten !
Honestly, planking’s easier when you’re listening to music. Not only do u have the music ur playing keep track of the time, you get lost in the music & you’re not focused on how much time passed, rather keeping the plank steady while also vibing a tiny bit.
i started with planking 1 minute, it really costed a lot of energy for me, now over 2 or 3 months i can do like 4 minutes, i can see the beginning of my sixpack :), it really helps!
I usually plank for 30 seconds then move into push up position and do 5 push ups (while still engaging core) then get back into plank position. Aim is to break up 4 times to do 5 push ups each. But you can change the length of time or the amount of push ups for decreased or increased intensity.
My teacher for PE makes us do: -3 Minute Planks -60 Push-ups (2 Minutes) -100 Sit-ups (1:30 minutes) -Bicycle (5 minutes) -2 Miles around school -25lb Weights (3 Minutes) -150 Squats If we only miss ONE thing and we didn’t complete ONE thing, she took 10 out of 30 point off. I do not have idea on core strength but i am pretty sure that 30 minutes working in a fitness saloon for 30 days would change you 10 times more than planking. I got belly when i started 40 days ago and now i can see some parts of my abs. My trainer says that i might be able to see all my six packs next month.

Well obviously, there won't be visible changes. You can greatly increase your ab strength without it being visible, but that doesn't mean this didn't do anything.

Unfortunately planks are really bad for compressing your spine and I’ve even heard of rib injuries from it too. So for beginners and those who want to look after their body while exercising, we do things a little differently. 🤗
I decided to do my own version of this. I am going to do 1 minute the first day and then add another minute until I can either do 30 minutes at the end of the month or I reach muscle failure. Would love something like a 5minute workout everyday for 30 days. Like 1 minute each of jumping jacks, squats, sprint on spot, squats, jumping jacks all high intensitym. Apparently doing it 3 times a week has health benefits. So every day for 30 days sounds interesting
Im 54 -- The other day I started out with a 3 Minute Plank then 30 sec res and did a 1 minute plank 30 sec rest and repeat until I had 1- 3 min plank and 4 - 1 min planks after. AND I even have a bad shoulder -- AND -- I did my planks IN THE PUSH UP POSITION. regular elbow planks where your resting on your forearms -- THOSE GET EASY QUICK so no worries to the beginners -- You will get there fast.
Yes, because evolution has allowed us for brains over muscles. If you look at chimpanzees, the closest relative to our species, they have ripped muscles but with no effort so yeah.
I'm just saying don't ever actually do these types if "30 day" challenges they hurt you long term when you exercise your muscles get bigger by tearing. they need time to recover doing these types of things don't allow your muscles to regenerate this puts you at an increased chance of injury the type of people who do these things rarely ever think about the possible long term injury risks.
That's only for large muscles dummy, for core exercises, abs, calves and for some people arms especailly biceps training everyday is perfectly fine with low volume, you should learn training methods if you have a higher frequency you lower the volume, doing planks every day isn't going to injure you jesus do you know how they train in the army? do you know how often weightlifters lift? zzz to many examples to prove you wrong
Core muscles repair faster than other muscles. They're made of different types of fibers that are meant to be fatigued every day. You can do ab workouts every single day if you want without any problems. Muscles are repaired only when you sleep.
Um, planks are for your core. You don't see an aesthetic difference, you feel it. If you have back pain a strong core can remedy that. You do crunches to see a visible aesthetic change to your midsection, and that change can only be revealed if you understand how to eat properly aka don't have belly fat.
Doing planks for just one minute will teach you just how long a minute can be.

Would love something like a 5minute workout everyday for 30 days. Like 1 minute each of jumping jacks, squats, sprint on spot, squats, jumping jacks all high intensitym. Apparently doing it 3 times a week has health benefits. So every day for 30 days sounds interesting
I tried to do it for 3 min while watching this video, i was shaking after 30 secs .-.
They didnt show the whole 3 min plank, PHOTOSHOPPED
They look the same before and after
Im 54 -- The other day I started out with a 3 Minute Plank then 30 sec res and did a 1 minute plank 30 sec rest and repeat until I had 1- 3 min plank and 4 - 1 min planks after. AND I even have a bad shoulder -- AND -- I did my planks IN THE PUSH UP POSITION.
regular elbow planks where your resting on your forearms -- THOSE GET EASY QUICK so no worries to the beginners -- You will get there fast.
Human are the actual weakest species
Yes, because evolution has allowed us for brains over muscles. If you look at chimpanzees, the closest relative to our species, they have ripped muscles but with no effort so yeah.
i have been doing plank every day from december 2k18...and i'm very much satisfied with my results,i also add push ups with it...
Now do 100 burpees for 30 days #challenge
Thanks guys, great job!
I wish I could give you this feeling! I'm planking for 3 minutes!
Alrighty Then! Ace Ventura!!
It’s so weird because what you seem is that a min. goes by so fast, but you can realize how long a minute can be.
So witch one is true?
It's 3 min of planking lol you'll be fine
Demetrio Torres it's a 3 minute plank not 200 pounds of weight lifting it's fine
Demetrio Torres you need to increase your sleep so you have a longer time to recover
I just can’t get over how perfect that guy’s teeth is.
you know why it never got easier, oh maybe because youre doing it everyday and never giving your body time to recover, muscle tears need to repair fam
The muscles are getting repaired during the night. Isn't it so?
Core muscles repair faster than other muscles. They're made of different types of fibers that are meant to be fatigued every day. You can do ab workouts every single day if you want without any problems. Muscles are repaired only when you sleep.
Um, planks are for your core. You don't see an aesthetic difference, you feel it. If you have back pain a strong core can remedy that. You do crunches to see a visible aesthetic change to your midsection, and that change can only be revealed if you understand how to eat properly aka don't have belly fat.
