Glad that they showed claire being well within weight range and then having higher body fat because I feel like people don't believe skinny people can be unhealthy
It's so true. I weigh an astonishing 100 lbs, but my stomach is large, and everyone is like, "You're the healthiest person I know; nothing is wrong with you." Skinny fat is a real thing, and it is dangerous.
sweetyetunrefined i dont understand why but i can drop that size within a couple weeks. and its a deficit of maybe 500 - 1000 calories plus catabolic exercise. and no im not depleting myself of any 1 macro nutrient. its over all calories
I don't calorie count. I am on a low carb, no/low sugar diet. Dropped 25lbs in a month. I eat every 2-3hrs except at night with trying to keep my carb count as low as possible. Excerise 5-6 days a week. No need to scale or calorie watch.
@Madeline Channel well not everyone is anti animal products. He helped these people, they followed the routines he recommended, and they followed a strict healthy diet and their results are incredible. People are gonna think he's an amazing trainer.
Yeah because weight doesn't really matter that much. What matters is to lose that body fat and replace it with muscles and have the same weight, but still look skinny and fit. I started eating healthy and working out and noticed visual differences in my waist, legs and arms, but my actual weight didn't change that much.

Look into "High Fat Low Carb" or "keto" diet blogs and you will get a lot of what she made. Really great foods and creative recipes substituting cauliflower or almonds for bread/dough.
I just go on pinterest and search up "low carb Meals" and I can find lots of similar things that she made. For extra safe keeping plug the ingredients and measurements into a calorie tracking app like MyFitnessPal to make sure the macros fit your lifestyle~
Made this comment 3 years ago but I'm editing it now. Guys, please look after your bodies. Make sure you're getting all your macros and at least 1800 calories per day. If you wanna get "fit", get into competitive sport, and dedicate your dieting and exercise to improving your body's performance, rather than its looks.
LOL was gonna say the same thing! Not a big buzzfeed fan since they seem pretty biased most of the time but this vid shows real people and the importance of losing body fat, not watching the numbers on the scale.
I had one once- crazy expensive and kept pushing me to extend to a new plan costing thousands. Expensive to keep looking around and trying them out. I'd love to have someone pay for me too. Need to get hired at Buzzfeed
A lazy person would always find an excuse. You have the internet... and common sense. you can even do deadlifts at home with some 10-20 pound dumbell, squats, push ups and pull ups. All you need, pretty much. And don't eat like a hippo
@@liam-zt8xx There's no need to troll and be rude. I'm far healthier now that I'm paid more for the simple fact that I can afford membership of a climbing gym; money improves your access to positive life changes.
goo.gl/nijYBH That routine is pretty much the only routine you will ever need. The few or so equipment needed, you can make at home. There's also an app for it, if you don't feel like going through the trouble to figure out the routine on your own: goo.gl/wsh5hp I don't take supplements. I do this routine about three days a week, fasted cardio everyday (with HIIT on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Drink plenty of water and if you have a couple of not-so-great food days, that's okay. Just make sure you're below your daily caloric allowance. Learn moderation when eating. Look up "hara hachi bu". I'm a little more extreme than most people. I also do a full day fast every couple of weeks, mostly as a mind over body exercise, to help me reaffirm that I'm in control. I know some people who also go on keto every few months for three weeks. I went on keto for one week recently, and the results were pretty amazing. I wasn't miserable the entire time, either. I went onto Diet Doctor and found delicious recipes to cook at home. It was a little more expensive than my normal diet, so that's a minus. People swear it's not expensive, but that's only if you buy the same cheap food items in bulk and eat the same thing for almost every meal. I lost about 3 pounds and went from 11.8% body fat to 10.3%. I wasn't going to the gym as hard as I wanted to, so I'm sure there was potential to maximize on it even more. My wife had similar results (she's a much larger woman). We're gonna try again in February. When it's not the holiday season. I'm no expert or anything, by the way. Just a regular guy who found what worked for him. Good luck!
For most people who aren’t doing high intensity sports, or your average joe, intermittent fasting and/or a calorie deficit keto diet would be the easiest way to lose fat. A 5 by 5 program would be the best program for building muscle for beginners in my opinion. You shouldn’t do this for more than a few months but the program is good for building a strong base for future lifting. Also when intermittent fasting, one shouldn’t really do anything too difficult. Light cardio is recommended when your body is in that state.
This motivated me to commit to my workout instead of giving up, because I was giving up due to the scale but now I realize that maybe it was just muscle and not fat.
yay i'm glad they had "skinny fat" claire on this - someone i can relate to. i'm quite slim but not toned at all, it's hard to work out what i even need to do to get rid of body fat.
heysoph9 I am the same as well but I'm a competitive athlete who trains on average 10 and half hours per week, I have scaled down due to a shoulder injury but even when I working out the full 10 and a half hours I had very little definition, a lot of my problem I think comes from eating really unhealthy, since I train so much I think I can eat whatever I want but now that's starting to impact my body and performance success, being quite short as well I often look larger than I actually am, I think I'm going to try and really scale down on my sugary carb intake
lift weights! if you can, lower the cardio down to 2x per week, concentrate on 1500 cals of healthy foods per day (if you want a caloric deficit) and just keep lifting! I lost basically no weight during my body transformation but I've replaced so much fat with muscle and my clothes fit so much better. All the best to you :)
Same here! My trainer asked me to cool it on the cardio (though I don't cut it out completely, I just do more LISS) and now I'm focusing on eating healthier meals.
The Finesser I tried that but tbh my self discipline basically doesn't exist so you can probably imagine how that worked out 😅 Thanks for taking your time to give me an advice, I appreaciate it!
Das Eiki bist du deutsch? naja ok, i was like you too, wanted to lose weight and..well i am kind of at the start too but i do sports regularly now, and i am feeling more fit
People are saying it might be her skin care routine but honestly it might not be. I'm asian and get asked about my skin constantly but a lot of us don't do anything, its genetic.
i get so offended when people say that "oh you're thin, you don't need to workout" or "what's the point of working out when you're not even gonna lose anything..." CANT SOMEONE JUST WORKOUT BC THEY WANT TO BE STRONGER OR FEEL LESS STRESSED OR FEEL MENTALLY GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES??!
S. Laiza so true. Im was skinny fat, i worked out because i realized that n people never got the point. Though, I've been slacking the last few months...
I get that too!! I'm just like the girl in this video who the trainer mentioned as "skinny fat." My fat percentage and weight is similar to hers in the the before and I am working out and eating healthier to get my fat percentage down!
@Glenda's World I've started a couple months ago. I have seen results close to a 4pack but thats about it. I wing my own diet ate very clean and healthy and minimal and workout almost everyday (minimal of cardio for 40 mins or 20min HIIT). But its different with a trainer and a group that motivates each other to work out. And the fact that this video didn't tell us what their diet was or their work out plan makes it impossible to follow.
I'm glad that the trainer touched on what "skinny fat" is, because that's exactly what these women were. And sooo many other women too, who appear skinny but are actually carrying too much fat. This is why all women should weight lift!! But many don't because they're afraid they'll "bulk up" like a man (which is nearly impossible because of our hormone differences)
I’ve actually managed to bulk up my arms by lifting heavy boxes constantly. it’s really not a good look...that’s why I don’t lift anything anymore, but if there’s a workout to loose weight in the arms I definitely need it
Woah, this is ao great! More people should be aware about how the % of muscle and body fat can affect your weight. I just learned about it in February, when i was diagnosed as insulin resistant. I had 42% of body fat and like 23% of muscle. I was a mess really, and 6 mo ths later I have 25% of body fat and 32% of muscle :) it has been an slow road for me, but I am really proud of what I've achieved. I was declared healthy a couple of months ago!
I liked Ashley's words at the end. I've always been skinny-fat so I could "get away with" eating cookies and chips but recently I've started gaining weight like crazy and it's time to be honest with myself and cut out all of those junk foods. I know it won't be easy after a lifetime of eating rubbish but I've already got gallstones and I don't want any more health problems.
They probably followed a whole30 type of diet of unprocessed foods and then did cardio 5-6 times a week and strength trained full body 4 times per week.
I think they have to be careful because they worked with a personal trainer, who expects to be paid for supplying people with specific workouts and diets, so they didn't show very much of the nitty gritty details.
Yes, good fats are good for you in moderation. Sodium is also not bad in moderation. But if you are arguing all fats and low carbs is a healthy alternative to a balanced meal plan and workout regiment, I don't agree with you at all... I'm glad your keto diet is working for you, but not everyone wants to lose weight like you or increase fat intake. They want to build muscle and lose fat....
Olivia Treip Agreed. Self-love is an action. It is taking good care of yourself, both mentally and physically. Torturing your body with too much fat or starving yourself is not self-love
Savannah R. Kerr I like the photoshop ones because people look at what they thought was their ideal look and realize that they like their natural selves better and for any healthy life, you need good self esteem and motivation to change. I like these videos because people love themselves going in and they see the results from their hard work and even though they changed, it isn't because they felt bad about themselves. I think both have their merits.
Ive watched some of the other vids steve was in and now "hi my name steve zim and im the owner of a tighter u fitness gym etc is just engraved in my head
Chicken and fish, lots of veggies, get your carbs from fruit, baked potatoes, brown rice or quinoa...stay away from processed carbs like candy, soda, alcohol, cookies, chips, etc. AND of course portion control and limit daily calorie intake. It is possible to eat too much healthy food.
so you don't wanna do the research... but if you don't do research you need a trainer..but you cant pay for a trainer. sounds like you're just kinda lazy. do the research. its worth it
Ray03595 I go to the gym 3 times a week but it's more for like stress relief by running and cardio..... I exercise because I like it not necessarily for physical results which is what I mean by like I'm kinda just to lazy to do something for the sake of trying to make a physical difference
Maybe he just has naturally pretty loose skin and the type of fat that is hanging outside so it gives us a illussion that he has much more bodyfat. That's just my guess, because based on those before and after pictures he looks like he has 5-12% more bodyfat not gonna lie.
people store fat in different places more for example maybe he has more fat stored between his organs instead of the outside layer under his skin for example you can also notice his back is too thick at the beginning so definitely he store fat symetrically
I will have to back you up on that. Ive seen that trainer in another video use callipers to calculate body fat percentages and his reading were way off too.
I mean it's one thing to get up and go to the gym, but it's so hard to do these types of workouts when you don't have anyone to guide and correct your form :(
Try Fitness Blender. They have a channel here on RUclips. They give great instruction and you'll see awesome results if you push yourself and eat right.
Idelli Putri but what's a simple workout? Like walking stairs or jumping rope does that count as a workout? I have no idea what I can do at home that's a workout
I'm high school student in smaller town in Czech Republic (central europe)... the only thing we have in our school is one treadmill and few bicycles... ':D
I use an app called sweat. I'm not sure if it's available where you are. I pay like $30 a month (just like a gym membership) but it gives you the exercises to do and most can be done without gym equipment or substituted with other things (stepups on a workout bench can be done on a step ladder, squats with a medicine ball can be done holding heavier dumbells, kettlebells, or maybe even milkjugs).
Thank you! I'll definitely look on it ^_^ Also, my friend told me recently about Nike Training Club... If anyone would have any experience, tell me please ^_^

Really? You do? I doubt that because you didn't even spell her name right.
Petition for Claire to drop the recipes for those meals because THEY LOOK SO GOOD OMG
I wish I worked for a company that paid me to work out for a video. :) Good for them for getting healthy though :)
The Vegetarian Baker you're lowkey triggered. I feel you.
HAHAH! :) I'm a bit jealous. I currently wake up at 4 AM to go to the gym, but I'd love to do it for work and get paid for it. Just a nice bonus :)
The Vegetarian Baker definitely. Lol
The Vegetarian Baker buzzfeed should do a getting strangers fit series and give people who can't afford doing this program a chance for free

Buzzfeed can you please post an article on what all Claire cooked with recipes. They looked so freaking. Good.
Cauliflower rice - the best. Very easy to make if you have a food processor.

I was most impressed by Claire’s transformation
It's due to her body type ... She's an ectomorph therefore she loses weight easily while gaining weight is difficult
I was most impressed with Zach. They all did incredibel!!!
@@michaelreyes5844 bich stop lying
Chayan Chong Ling the whole ectomorph endomorph theory got dismissed ages ago. Don’t believe it
Well she was already tiny
Pretty sure I've watched this video at least once a month for the last year...
i've come back to this many times too, hella motivational!!!

Leo INSANE
RIGHT!? In six weeks! He worked hard
Not just belly look at the face fat as well.
Zach went from hey best friend to hey babe
this.
IKR 😂
So trueeeee!
I don't normally like Buzzfeed, but this. THIS. I love this.
LOL was gonna say the same thing! Not a big buzzfeed fan since they seem pretty biased most of the time but this vid shows real people and the importance of losing body fat, not watching the numbers on the scale.
I love how buzzfeed included several body types in this video, well done.
If only someone would pay for me to have a personal trainer...
Slated Find a Beachbody coach
They aren't coaches. They sell you expensive shakes...
I had one once- crazy expensive and kept pushing me to extend to a new plan costing thousands. Expensive to keep looking around and trying them out. I'd love to have someone pay for me too. Need to get hired at Buzzfeed

I wish a trainer like him wasn't so expensive :(

I've watched this video so many times for motivation, I've basically memorized it.
So basicaly how should we eat and how much should we workout to get this kind of results ?
BuzzFeed do this same video but for broke people who can't afford a gym or trainer
goo.gl/nijYBH
That routine is pretty much the only routine you will ever need. The few or so equipment needed, you can make at home.
There's also an app for it, if you don't feel like going through the trouble to figure out the routine on your own: goo.gl/wsh5hp
I don't take supplements.
Caesar Tuguinay what is a 5 by 5 program please?
This.
Xentrolis thanks m8
Claire looks so good omg! So happy for her (she looked fine in the beginning but now she looks stronger and healthier)
Nicole Fuhhhh her “after” body was absolutely beautiful. And she’s got curves too
This motivated me to commit to my workout instead of giving up, because I was giving up due to the scale but now I realize that maybe it was just muscle and not fat.
Haley C Get a tape measure or caliper. Those are keeping me from quitting and seeing results.
Haley C Muscle is five pounds. Trust me, it’s muscle.

yay i'm glad they had "skinny fat" claire on this - someone i can relate to. i'm quite slim but not toned at all, it's hard to work out what i even need to do to get rid of body fat.
heysoph9 I am the same as well but I'm a competitive athlete who trains on average 10 and half hours per week, I have scaled down due to a shoulder injury but even when I working out the full 10 and a half hours I had very little definition, a lot of my problem I think comes from eating really unhealthy, since I train so much I think I can eat whatever I want but now that's starting to impact my body and performance success, being quite short as well I often look larger than I actually am, I think I'm going to try and really scale down on my sugary carb intake
I'm really skinny too but I work out really. People always say I'm too skinny so if I work out then i hink I'm gonna lose more weight
lift weights! if you can, lower the cardio down to 2x per week, concentrate on 1500 cals of healthy foods per day (if you want a caloric deficit) and just keep lifting! I lost basically no weight during my body transformation but I've replaced so much fat with muscle and my clothes fit so much better. All the best to you :)
Same here! My trainer asked me to cool it on the cardio (though I don't cut it out completely, I just do more LISS) and now I'm focusing on eating healthier meals.
ikr! having her on this video actually made me very motivated to start to get more fit
I wanna get fit but I can barely motivate myself to leave the house lol

I was just watching your videos!
Yes
i get so offended when people say that "oh you're thin, you don't need to workout" or "what's the point of working out when you're not even gonna lose anything..." CANT SOMEONE JUST WORKOUT BC THEY WANT TO BE STRONGER OR FEEL LESS STRESSED OR FEEL MENTALLY GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES??!
S. Laiza I relate to this so much. So annoying when people do that, can't I just be healthy and strong?
S. Laiza I don't think you should be offended, it's people just trying to compliment you is all. I'm sure they don't actually mean any harm
S. Laiza I CAN RELATE SO MUCH.

IM EATING CHEETOS TOO!!!!!
I wish I could have been there to join them in these 6 weeks
Can someone comment the damn exercises and diet plan you have to do ! Lmao
You can start now and in 6 weeks you’ll be slimmer like them. I’m 2 weeks in and I have lost at least 5 lbs of fat already!
Seems like your right arm will be a lot stronger then your left arm!
Jay Sea I
What Zach is only 28% body fat? My scale shows me 31.5% for mine and my belly is half the size of his. I need a new machine.
Headbanger's Kitchen it’s that large most likely due to regular beer and alcohol consumption
It depends on your muscle to fat ratio so it doesn’t matter how big you are, you probably just don’t have a lot of muscle mass
it depends on your sex. if you are female, you’ll have more body fat than males, because of breasts and curves
Doesn't matter. The scale just needs to be consistent so you can gauge progress.
@@laurenleatham8687 lol ok
ashly looks amazing! she did lose weight and now even leaner! go Ashly!
Damsel Dress no lie , came here for Ashly
she didnt lose weight
Avexus yeah but she replaced the fat with muscle so she's healthier after the diet and exercise even if she gained
I I drank too much loving my wife juice
thats what im saying... the comment said she lost it
Psh, I gained 22% of body fat in 6 days.

I'm watching this to give me some advice because summer is coming soon and I'm not fucking ready
be as healthy as you can but that also includes your brain! please be kind to yourself.

Id love to see what Zach looks like now!
Epich Tex go on Instagram, his name is „thefit_z“ and he looks completely different now, it’s amazing!
They just released another video with zach in it hes been keeping up with his training
Bulking up also doesn't happen right away and accidentally. It takes a lot of work to bulk up.
Haleigh P preach! I say this all the time
I might be skinny fat. I'm at around 18.5% body fat
Bulking up by accident is like building a house by accident because you hammered a nail into a piece of wood
I’ve actually managed to bulk up my arms by lifting heavy boxes constantly. it’s really not a good look...that’s why I don’t lift anything anymore, but if there’s a workout to loose weight in the arms I definitely need it
Wow
Zach doesn’t just look slimmer, his skin tone and posture and muscle line is so great man
Woah, this is ao great!
PolliitoAle Dont Look at body fat... Just do sports and eat healthy....
PolliitoAle yep agree
PolliitoAle o
PolliitoAle how do you find out the percentage of your body fat? Thank you!
PolliitoAle how did you do it? if you don't mind me asking :)
Zach's the fucking guy!! impressive as hell
Make a vid explaining their workouts and diets more, I want to follow them too!
Michael Blitz well, I also hope they did it that way but they won't ever do it hahaha
Exactly, the video is lacking details about their workout. You can guess their diet, although more details would be welcome.
Michael Blitz I agree. I'd like to know what workouts they did... so I can do the same 😂
They probably followed a whole30 type of diet of unprocessed foods and then did cardio 5-6 times a week and strength trained full body 4 times per week.
I think they have to be careful because they worked with a personal trainer, who expects to be paid for supplying people with specific workouts and diets, so they didn't show very much of the nitty gritty details.
I want to work at buzzfeed so they would force me to do these challenges bc I wouldn't do them myself lol Who else? I know I am not the only one😂
Kristin Myftaraj sameeee
Right lol
LMAOOOO YES
same!
Kristin Myftaraj same I don't have the push or motivation
Who else thought that each person lost about 22% of body fat from the title?
Same was totally tricked. Good vid though
if zach does follow through with his plan to become healthier and more fit it'd be great to see his process through out it
Feed the muscle. Starve the fat
Any additionnal diet tips for that?
Dont eat excessive fatty and sugary foods, eat clean, and in moderation. And workout. I mean its always the same..
Just imagine a healthy food is something you like. For example, if you are eating broccoli, imagine it is a cookie or something.
Random Comment fatty foods are good for you, as well as sodium. Look up the keto diet. Ive lost 20 pounds in a month.
Claire looks like a kpop idol. Ugh if only us plebs could afford a personal trainer. I would love that.
koreaboo
Because you need a personal trainer to get fit
Claire 22.3% bf, 111lbs
Ashly 25.2% bf, 137.5lbs
Zach 28.1% bf, 253lbs
Results after 6 weeks
Claire 14.7% (-7.7), 107lbs (-4)
Ashly 19.5% (-5.7), 140lbs (+3)
Zach 19% (-9%), 226lbs (-27)
Im glad that buzzfeed is acknowledging that being fat isnt all fine and dandy. Yea you shouldnt hate yourself for it, but its undeniably unhealthy.
True
Olivia Treip Agreed. Self-love is an action. It is taking good care of yourself, both mentally and physically. Torturing your body with too much fat or starving yourself is not self-love
Love the premise of this vid, instead of photoshopping to achieve ideals they are actually putting in the effort to look how they want.
It's not that deep it's not like everyone uses photoshop lol they are just simply losing weight it really shouldn't be that big of a deal
I think both have their merits.
fucking hell make a video about Claire's recipes because damn

Ik it’s so useless without the diet and exercise plan😭
Chicken and fish, lots of veggies, get your carbs from fruit, baked potatoes, brown rice or quinoa...stay away from processed carbs like candy, soda, alcohol, cookies, chips, etc. AND of course portion control and limit daily calorie intake. It is possible to eat too much healthy food.
It's keto.
I just had a baby in March and this motivated me so hard. I'm so ready to lose this baby fat. It's time.
Congrats on having your baby and good luck with your weight loss journey! I hope it's going well:)
Breanna Nichols you go for it! Keep your proteine intake up, google is your friend and bodybuilding.com lol 💕🌈
My issue with exercising/dieting is not wanting to do the research but at the same time not having enough money to get a trainer 😭😭
so you don't wanna do the research... but if you don't do research you need a trainer..but you cant pay for a trainer. sounds like you're just kinda lazy. do the research. its worth it
you don't need a personal trainer to know how to exercise. You know you can do it, You just need to gain the initiative to actually start.
RUclips is your friend. Just find a fitness RUclips who you can relate to and enjoy watching and they are basically like a personal trainer.
sarahizkl is so right. its so much free advice. anything you need to know how to do, just search and theres a video
Ray03595 I go to the gym 3 times a week but it's more for like stress relief by running and cardio..... I exercise because I like it not necessarily for physical results which is what I mean by like I'm kinda just to lazy to do something for the sake of trying to make a physical difference
There's no way Zach was 28 percent body fat in the beginning - he's between 32 - 35.
Ive seen that trainer in another video use callipers to calculate body fat percentages and his reading were way off too.
nah I started off with 31% body fat and I certainly didn't look it. I was 5'3 and 131 pounds. Ppl carry weight differently!
Agree not 28%
I mean it's one thing to get up and go to the gym, but it's so hard to do these types of workouts when you don't have anyone to guide and correct your form :(
ayumikunn what about those creepy pervert guys at the gym?😂
You can do this at home. Just simple workout.
But ik you don't know which is the right way to do it or so, but i did like just simple workout, it helps. Also it is better to do it than never
Try Fitness Blender. They have a channel here on RUclips. They give great instruction and you'll see awesome results if you push yourself and eat right.
Idelli Putri but what's a simple workout? Like walking stairs or jumping rope does that count as a workout? I have no idea what I can do at home that's a workout
I'd totally love to go trough this. Sadly, as a student, I can't afford to have personal trainer.
Moni Drábková check to see if your college has one. The one at my campus is free they will help you set up workouts.
Thank you! I'll definitely look on it ^_^
Also, my friend told me recently about Nike Training Club... If anyone would have any experience, tell me please ^_^
Do you people realise that increasing muscle portion increases your metabolic rate which leads to shortening of life span? But you do what you want
