Suzanne Please try oatmeal! My mother has no Diabetis 2 anymore, because of oatmeal! It has to be fresh made, warm, no milk, no sugar. Otherwise it doesnt work. I also stopped my insuline resistence with it. We also have no sugar cravings anymore since we eat the oatmeal.
In terms of details about general health and diabetes treatment method, I find this 4BestDiabetesCure.blogspot.com easy to follow and very good. Thru this plan, you could transform your lifestyle and diet without getting particular about your carb or calorie. My transition to a more healthy life-style hasn`t only helped me lose fat but also overcome diabetic issues and high blood pressure! It is correct that you really could change diabetes..?
This helped me soo much. Im 19 and I’m a Type 2 Diabetic, and to hear they guy say he was no longer a Diabetic made my heart melt, this filled me with so much joy and passion to get there. And I will. Thanks Buzzfeed!!!

It is also possible that his body will continue to become insulin resistant/ less capable of metabolizing sugar just due to aging. Which is why he's more likely (at a higher risk) of T2D later in life. For him it would be progression, for others to would be a new diagnosis.
Getting your A1c lowered has nothing to do with being diabetic. I'm type 1 and had an a1c of 4.5 at one point (With very strict low carb diet). My current is a 5.7. It's just a measure of blood sugar levels, not insulin efficiency, which would truly determine "cured" or not.
zach's results made me tear up..I wish my dad would listen to us and follow the doctor's diet but he eats pure crap when he KNOWS diabetes is a lifestyle disease and CAN BE CURED! congratulations zach, that takes massive willpower!
Start small and work up - or find little adjustments. Add spinach to smoothies, you really can't taste it even if it makes the color a little weird. Add veggies to eggs or stir fries. Zoodles or cauli rice. Start with 1-2 cups and once you're comfortable with that add another one.
Personally I take my favorite foods and just add vegetables to it and put in less of the fats. For example, I love eggs with cheese. So I added spinach to it and replaced the splash of half and half I put in there with low fat milk. I also try to put less cheese. I also understand that this was probably a joke, but it is important to take health seriously. Take Care : )
totally agree but I do take a green supplement it has loads of veg that are super low in Carbs I hate how they say you have to eat any type of carbs worst advise ever , do not eat sugar either, um no the only sugar I have is in my once or twice a week berrries
Dear Buzzfeed, Thank you for making this video. I'm 26 years old and I recently found out that I have prediabetes. My family has a history of diabetes and I've been stressing out, frustrated, and angry (at myself) for not taking better care of myself. This video is so very inspiring and made me cry when Kane, Michelle, and Zach got their results on the last day of the diet. SO PROUD OF ALL 3 OF YOU! I felt helpless before I watched this video and now I honestly feel like I can accomplish the very same. I just wanted to say thank you :) and great job to Kane, Michelle, and Zach
I work for a podiatrist and about 75% of the patient's we see are diabetics, whose blood sugars have gotten so high that it begins to cause nerve damage. They lose feeling in their feet (in extreme cases it is in the fingers), don't feel that they have injured themselves, which then results in a wound that is typically infected by the time we see it. This is the leading cause of amputations in diabetics since many don't heal very well. Please take care of yourself and monitor your feet closely!
Parvati Villarba honestly I wouldn’t ask someone on RUclips for medical questions, if it’s still bothering u when u read this I would get it checked out by a doctor just in case. (also it’s hard to properly check your foot when you can’t see it in real life)
The dude with the beard and the glasses... Every time you guys do a video with him based on his health life choices I end up a blubbering mess with tears rolling down my face because he's just so genuinely happy to be alive and to be improving his life. He's an inspiration.
@@leahjacob3553 intermittent fasting. Drinking a lot water. Cut sugar like soda and junk food. Eat green vegetables and lean protein. I do eat carbs. I'm not into low carb diets. Also I do crossfit.
Can you work off of the tips she shared in the video? They cover 90% of the tips any nutritionist would give you... 50% of your meal should be vegetables, 25% should be protein and the rest should be carbs and fat. Limit or remove gluten, dairy and sugar from your diet. Manage your stress levels to make sure your body responds. That should give you a good start, and after 90 days as you start seeing results you can build off it with other information that’s available on RUclips! It’s a process, but it’s worth it and simple changes are the best way to start. Good luck :)
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last week and I’m currently in the hospital, looking for videos on diabetes and I found this video. Zach’s blood test results made me so emotional and I hope I’m able to cope just like he did.
As a type 1 diabetic, I really appreciated and enjoyed this video. Even though it was dedicated to majorly type 2 diabetes, I feel that It is a topic that really needs to be discussed. Even as a type 1 diabetic for several years, I still have trouble with my diet, exercise and maintaining my A1C so I'm really glad that buzzfeed created this video. Congrats to all for putting in the effort and lowering your A1C! Keep up the good work!
Have you seen the Mastering Diabetes YT channel - "Welcome to the Mastering Diabetes RUclips channel. We will show you how to reverse insulin resistance via low-fat, plant-based, whole-food. This channel is run by Robby Barbaro (living with type 1 diabetes since 2002) and Cyrus Khambatta, PhD (living with type 1 since 2002 as well)" There's a lot of info on there all about diet & exercise with type 1.
Any other Type One Diabetics out there watching this? (For those confused: type one is more genetic or your body just quits giving you insulin, type two is when your insulin can’t be produced properly.)
ElijahRobatz right? I was like, that's so good, especially after he ate all the foods he said he did. If my sugar could be that after a NORMAL meal, I'd be golden
I keep coming back to this video.. When I found out I was a pre-diabetic at the age of like 29 I freaked out right away. I thought my life was over for sure until I cam across this video... I watched it everyday on my journey while I tried to beat this sickness... Within 4 months I reversed everything.. I give this video credit... no longer a pre diabetic .

I’m the same but like its with soda and cinnamon rolls. 😩 I know that there are types of dark chocolate that are sweetened with stevia so on the plus side, u can give up sugar and keep eating chocolate. it’s a huge jump from milk chocolate though. It’s the same way w/ soda stevia soda exists but the sugar stuff is just 👌👌👌

I love this so so much, especially the message behind it - not just all about weight loss or looks but about health and looking after your body... More videos like this please!
For any stress-eaters out there, find something that gives you a mental release. Try drawing, reading, writing, working out, painting, just whatever. I do most of the above and it seriously helps with stress.
You DO know that diets are lifestyles, too, right? Diets aren't just weight loss programs or short-term routines. They're what you eat and how you approach food.
I think Anastasia meant the fact that they were referring to themselves as " *on* a diet" instead in the way in which you're referring to it~where it'd be " *in* my diet I eat..." you know? everyone *has* a diet, but being *on* a diet is used as a word (in our culture -very commonly) as a short-lived thing. So yes, their diet is what their eating, but it's the lifestyle of how their eating that has changed (as well)
Phantrashnumber5 and Al Funcoot, that’s exactly what I meant. Being on a diet and changing you’re diet are very different. Modifying your diet, is to change your lifestyle long term, whereas being ON a diet is typically considered short term, and typically to lose weight.
kaykay12152 it’s still high weather he ate them or not. But he was expecting it so if your saying he was surprised then I don’t think he was but yeah idk
Thank you so much for explaining and clarifying the difference between type 1and type 2 diabetes. I have type 1 and it's always reassuring to see that some people aren't ignorant and understand the difference. I like that the info is being put out there. Thanks again!
A girl named Paige you’re going to be fine! everyone here supports you. just know you’re not the only one, there are surprisingly SOOOO many other people with it too! I was diagnosed I thought i was the only one, look at all the comments. good luck
To the people in the video and to Buzzfeed -- I'm 27 and recently discovered that I'm prediabetic. I have been trying to look for a video to give me hope that I can overcome this and change for the better. This video lifted the weight off my chest and motivated me so much to do what I can until Jan 2020 when I get retested. Thank you thank you THANK YOU. Wish me luck 🌻
Diabetes really sucks! I was diagnosed with insulin resistance at 15 and even though I tried changing my lifestyle, I got diagnosed with PCOS and borderline Diabetes at 16. My mum's family has a huge history of diabetes too. Controlling the weight when your body's natural mechanism is against you is extremely hard. Sometimes you just want to give up the fight because you're tired of trying so hard but you know that you can't lose.
Try a ketogenic diet, I promise it will help. It is reversing my PCOS and prediabetes, I feel better than I ever have. The secret is eating a keto diet with intermittent fasting with lots of green vegetables. This will restore insulin sensitivity and normal blood sugar levels.
A year after you posted this but I saw your comment and just wanted to add. I have PCOS too was told I was pre-diabetic. It's a constant struggle especially when a lot of doctors took forever to officially diagnose me. I have recently started a low carb diet and have started to slowly cut out dairy and gluten. It's still hard but I've started to feel much better in the past few months and the weight is starting to come off. Wish you luck on your journey!!
Please don’t do keto it’s short term results are good but long term doctors see a lot of dehydration. Carbs from fruits and veggies are really important according to decades of scientific research.
Society has made diabetes a shameful word and its not okay. As a type 1 diabetic, I constantly have people who don't understand my illness judging me for not taking better care of myself, when there is NOTHING that i could have done differently to prevent it. Yes, most of the time diabetes is a result of poor lifestyle choices, but there are other factors involved and sometimes it can't be prevented. That goes for type 1 and 2 alike. Its not my fault I have this for life, and i wish people would stop to think before putting us all into the same shameful box.
type 2 is lifestyle...type 1 is something you can't control your body just doesn't produce insulin. I don't understand personally but I know my cousin struggles with type 1 and the remarks people make to him. Yes he has to take care of himself by watching what he eats, but it's not the meals that caused his diabetes.
I agree 110%! I got bullied all throughout elementary and middle school because the parents of the kids taught them that diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar and being "fat". No type one diabetic should have to go through that.
Sicarius Peremo unfortunately they can't. That's only the case for type 2. People with type 1 are unable to produce insulin or produce very little. There's no cure...they need insulin.
I'm going to be honest as a type one diabetic I'm happy that BuzzFeed is showing that there are different diabetes however I wish that the differences where in bigger bolder text boxes. Also all the comments about how y'all couldnt do it you could if you had to do it if you didn't want to die just a thought. Also it is diabetes awareness month so thanks for finally showing something related to it
I'm glad you're one of the few positive Type 1's on this post, most are upset Buzzfeed didn't raise awareness on Type 1 nor specified which type diabetes they were focusing on. You are just as important as someone with Type 2, I appreciate your positivity. Seriously keep that mindset. Also I really truly hope Buzzfeed does a long video on Type 1 diabetes because it's just as important as Type 2.
this video made me smile. I have prediabetes and my A1C is 6.1. I feel there’s no hope for me but this video gave me motivation to try my best to bring those sugar levels down. Thank you for putting this out. I really needed it 🥺
I’m in tears I’m so happy for them!!! My mother became diabetic in her late 60’s and had to hospitalized twice this year alone. I’ve never been more scared in all my life and vowed this will not happen to me. She’s better and in more control. Let’s all take better care of ourselves! Again, I’m crying for them! Bravo!!
Last month I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I changed my diet and I’ve lost 7 kgs in 30 days. Can’t wait to have my insulin and blood sugar tested again in two months!
I really loved the ending, where she threw out the candy instead of eating it; out of respect for herself. Good job, girl! Before watching the video, my freezer had a couple ice cream buckets and other sweets from Thanks Giving. Did I say had.
I always come back to this video. I started with my A1C at 7.6 back in June 2019. September it was 6.0, but I had only cut out sugar and sodas. Ate pretty much the same, just portion controlled. October I went low carb, and I am currently waiting for my A1c results. The most important thing to know is that these guys have to maintain this way of eating for life, they will bring their numbers up the moment they start with their old ways. Once a diabetic always a diabetic. My new doctor was impressed with how my numbers are going down and he too is anxious to see how I do. He said “maybe you’re not diabetic anymore!” 🤦♀️
Wow. What a good friend. Giving candy for completing this challenge. It's like my friend quitting smoking and I reward me by giving him a pack of smokes since he didn't smoke for 3 months.
Ugh I’m prediabetic and during the holidays it makes it way harder to manage. But when you drop sugar you don’t want it as much after 22 days. Eating fruit instead of candy or chocolate or other sugary things can calm the craving but it takes a long time to get used to it
tealdiamonds23 you got this, I just got through two potlucks without trying anything. just eat before going to family and keep the eye on the prize..you can do it!!!
Careful still, Fruit is not as healthy as you may thing! Go for Berries instead, same Vitamins, 1/4 Sugar load! If you need them to be more Sweet, add some Stevia to it :) Also remember, Fructose, has to be treated by your Liver like Alcohol ;) No Alcohol is not as bad as it gets reputation for...
I love videos like this because not only are they showing how important this is to everyone, but theyre helping the people in the video turn their lives around. makes a difference, man
I have never had this particular blood work done, but I have a history of diabetes type 2 in my family (besides high blood pressure and cancer), and this video... Honestly, it's amazing! I am so happy for all of you! I might get those blood tests done and start from there, see how prone I am right now to develop one of those...
I'm 19 years old and weigh in the mid 300s and just got word last week that I am not pre diabetic or diabetic. This video really did give me some great pointers, I'm definitely gonna look into what diabetes.org has to offer. This is honestly really motivating. I love all of the videos that Kane and Zach in particular have down about their health transitions. Their openess about these topics have really helped me understand my own journey.
I’ve don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video and hearing him say he isn’t diabetic anymore kinda made me cry. I have been a type one diabetic for fifteen years now and I’m super close with diabetic both type one and two. I love hearing type two diabetics say they aren’t diabetic any however it does make me a little sad cause I am a type one which means I’ll have it forever. Thing is I love being diabetic it has made me more confident in myself and I’ve also been able to talk more about it if anyone has questions. Thank you for this video it made me happy that he said he was not longer diabetic. Also thank you for inserting notes about the two type. People tend to only know one.
I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and I know type 1 and type 2 are different but honestly the fact that someone very populat is finally making a video like this and showing what the basics of helping the individual are is great!
Zack's results made me cry!! What a powerful change. Also his attitude throughout the video was so inspiring. It blows my mind to see three people in only 3 months change their levels so drastically!
aahhh, i’ve been very worried. i am afraid i might have prediabetes or diabetes, so i’ve been kinda. avoiding the topic with doctors. i didn’t know you could beat diabetes before this video, and it’s making me feel a lot better. i’m also so glad zach beat his after his journey. i’m very proud of him & inspired for myself
Whey doesn't contain as much lactose as other dairy products like milk. Lactose is a carbohydrate. So whey powder is going to be milk protein without the high amounts of lactose which is the real thing that they are trying to avoid.
Fair enough, but I'm lactose intolerant and can't handle even the smallest amount without getting lots of inflammation. Whey would make me spend a long time in the bathroom and give me lots of pimples for sure.
I'm also lactose intolerant but whey and casein protein powders are actually fine for me. Kinda depends on the person, and obviously if the powders are contaminated with lactose 🤷🏽♀️
I felt amazing after gradually changing my diet. My A1C was 7.4 in 2019, physician told me I’m Type-2 diabetes. I felt terrible but didn’t really change my diet much and refuse to take any medicine. I tested again and got 6.2 in 2020. The whole pandemic gave me the thought to live better. At the end of 2021 my result was 5.5! I was shocked. Changing eating habits and do more exercises really works out perfectly. My weight dropped from 101kg to 67kg. I feel energetic and happy.I will keep this good habit and continue to stay healthy. Hope everyone starts a wonderful journey and live an outstanding life.
I love that 3 body types were represented here. Diabetes doesn't affect just one demographic. This was super inspirational for me to watch considering my own health challenges I'm facing.
Can a video please be made about type 1 diabetes? It's very different in every aspect. No one ever shows us in the media. Especially since they get the chance to fix themselves and type 1 will never get that chance.
Hannah Stacey I totally agree. I think they should do a video about all types of diabetes not just type 1 and 2. Honestly my type of diabetes is down at the bottom and no one knows about it
Damn her motto at the end brings tears to my eyes. Nutrition is everything!. She's absolutely right. This video changed my life, I reversed my diabetes after watching this! Hell Ya!
Wow, thank you so much for making this video, and for the staff who really stuck to it for 3 months. I've been worried about being pre-diabetic since it runs in my family, and this video was so encouraging and supportive! I feel like I have the push and drive to turn my health around just from watching your journey!
My dad suffered a stroke about a year ago due to underlying diabetes which led to a blood clot. Lifestyle changes make the world of a difference. He spent almost 2 months in hospital but got out and has since quit drinking, manage's 8000 steps a day and eats clean. The change is worth the results.
Being a type 2 diabectic you have to develope lifestyle changes, What I like was that no diabetic medication was prescribed!!! exercise, good/correct diet, stress mgmt and what cannot be taught is fighting your demons!!! It is a major psychological battle but can be won and thru practice/modification the goals can be reached.
My hubby came home with a diagnosis of diabetes -on the high scale - the day we first saw this. It really inspired us (especially Zach).1 year later of eating better -smaller regular meals, glucose stablizing foods( more pulses), less processed foods,no more takeaways or lunch bar food - he lost weight, lost diabetes and also came out down the bottom of the scale so was not even prediabetic! And he still has beers
Was diagnosed in Sept of 2016, at 23 years old and this lifestyle change has been a struggle, specifically emotionally and trying to maintain stress levels. This video definitely gave me encouragement. Especially seeing the 7.2 drop into the 5.0 range. Thank you.
Slightly confused by them cutting out gluten to be 'healthy' - I'm Coeliac and if anything, gluten free substitutes are often packed of sugar/more processed ingredients to make the products taste normal...
Gluten free doesn't mean you have to eat the gluten free junk. It means you give up gluten and eat real whole foods, veggies, fruits, unprocessed foods.
I recently got told I was on the edge of being diabetic. I was nothing but scared but I am now on day 2 of better living when I found this video. When Zach said his A1C had dropped so much that he was no longer diabetic, I cried. This was definitive proof that if I do things right, it is totally reversible. This gave me hope and strength for my future ahead.
This made me so emotional, cuz I'm 28 and have diabetes as well. I have been struggling to keep it low, but I give up then try again. It's nice to see I'm not the only one.
Thank you! I just rewatched the video because I want to go back on the diet and reading the comments was making me sad. Thanks for the kind words. 43 now! But feeling great just wanting to reset my eating due to too much pandemic sourdough.
I can only imagine what my cortisol levels are, and have been over the past 2 months. I understand what the lady was going through. Stress can be devastating...Zach, my guy, I am beyond prpud of you! Good job everyone! This was inspiring
This video was so important to be made because I’m only 20 and my A1C came back as a 10.2 and I never thought it would happen to me because it has always been low and now I’m starting to try to change my diet and workout more and it’s just been really hard and to see others struggle and achieve their goals really helped. Thanks Buzzfeed !!!
I became vegan quite a long time ago and a side effect of that was to normalize my blood sugars from 600 to 700 to normal levels and A1C that was 12.5 to an A1C that is 5.1. Elizabeth MD Ph.D specialized nutritional science
Erin, I've been vegan for just over 2 years and my doctor ordered a general test to see if i was getting the nutrients i need. Unless you have symptoms a regular general test is what doctors usually go for. :)
katelynn so you want her to walk in and ask for a regular General test? There isn't such a thing. We all even myself need to be informed consumers of Medical Care. Most likely you had all three tests with blood drawn for them rather than a finger-stick hemoglobin A1c. Be well!

MusicalWheaten Type two diabetes is from having a poor diet or being overweight- its when you can still produce insulin but it doesn't do it's job. Type one is usually diagnosed before the age of 20 (doesn't mean it can't be later in life) and in this type the body doesn't produce insulin at all. It is not your fault, and you did nothing wrong to get this 😊
SugaCube yeah that's not correct. You can get type 2 Diabetes from a lot of things. Not just poor diet and exercise. I hate the fact that you guys get angry when people misconcept t1d but you do the same thing to t2's
Julia your forgetting the like 10 other causes. Everyone just blames it on no exercise and overeating. I'm not bashing on type 1's cause it's the same disease and we should all stick together but even you guys do it. You say your felling " left " out but the type 2's who are healthy and have been healthy feel sad because everyone things and continues to think even when they are informed that it's NOT JUST CAUSED BY STRESS OVEREATING AND NO EXERCISE
Victoria Davis Well say the reasons if you know. The most common reason is overeating, stress and clogged arteries. Please tell me the other reasons. Of coure genetics play a part but even with bad genes you could be able to control it with a healthy lifestyle.
My A1C was 9.9 on September of 2021. On November 22, 2021 I tested my A1C again and it had gone from 9.9 to 7.8. Just by eating differently and exercising. No medication so it's possible guys. Eat healthier and exercise more go for walks, runs, jogs, play with your kids, go up the stairs instead of using elevator. Every little bit of physical activity works.
Altho it's wonderful they all lowered their A1C levels, Zach is *NOT* diabetes free. He's in REMISSION. My husband did the same thing. With exercise, meds & correct diet (& losing 45 lbs), after 16 mo. he too got off meds. But he can *never* go back to the old habits/food.
I have Pre-Diabetes and have started this elimination diet for around 30-40 days. Part of the reason of starting it is because of minor digestive issues yet I’m hoping it will help lower my blood sugar as well. I do take medication to also try to help with my blood sugar control.

zach's results made me tear up..I wish my dad would listen to us and follow the doctor's diet but he eats pure crap when he KNOWS diabetes is a lifestyle disease and CAN BE CURED! congratulations zach, that takes massive willpower!
That is just type 2
My grams the same way :/
Bertha Lovejoy try showing him this video
Bertha Lovejoy unfortunately that’s only type 2, if type 1 could’ve been cured like this I would’ve done this immediately
My father in law had type 1 and eats so bad his diabetes is out of control
Congrats everyone. Lifestyle changes are hard, but well worth it. You may shock yourself with the results.
The Vegetarian Baker that's so true
my father has type 2 so does his parents
Worth it XD
Hey, what's up! Fellow veggie youtubers here😁
not unhealthy you just need more of it
"How am I supposed to eat 6 cups of veggies a day, when I barely eat 0 now?"
Kane is me.
You don't have to! Eat lots of healthy Fats, moderate Protein, LOW CARBS!
5% Carbs
20% Protein
75% Fat (Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Grass Fed Butter) Healthy Oils!
Sicarius Peremo 75% fats, even as healthy fats and oils, is insane. If you eat in the percentages you are saying you'd get almost no nutrients.
Dear Buzzfeed,
Thank you for making this video.
Sophia Tran can you give us an update? Since this comment is 1 year ago.
Please give an update on this comment, I will be looking forward to your reply
I work for a podiatrist and about 75% of the patient's we see are diabetics, whose blood sugars have gotten so high that it begins to cause nerve damage. They lose feeling in their feet (in extreme cases it is in the fingers), don't feel that they have injured themselves, which then results in a wound that is typically infected by the time we see it. This is the leading cause of amputations in diabetics since many don't heal very well. Please take care of yourself and monitor your feet closely!
give me kiss
Hi, the tip of my big toe has felt numb for months now. Is this a sign of diabetes?
Parvati Villarba honestly I wouldn’t ask someone on RUclips for medical questions, if it’s still bothering u when u read this I would get it checked out by a doctor just in case. (also it’s hard to properly check your foot when you can’t see it in real life)
I got it checked out. I don't have diabetes. My shoes were just too tight
thank you for this reminder:)
The dude with the beard and the glasses... Every time you guys do a video with him based on his health life choices I end up a blubbering mess with tears rolling down my face because he's just so genuinely happy to be alive and to be improving his life.
He's an inspiration.
Last November my A1C was 11.7 so I just did my blood test last week and the results came in and my A1C is down to 5.6.
Wow great job!
Thats so amazing, Im so happy for you.
Yesssss
Good job. How did you bring your A1C down?
@@leahjacob3553 intermittent fasting. Drinking a lot water. Cut sugar like soda and junk food. Eat green vegetables and lean protein. I do eat carbs. I'm not into low carb diets. Also I do crossfit.
Can I speak to this nutritionist?? She looks so encouraging and less of accuser! That’s what I need 😩😩😩!
Mrs Kita García that's what a dietitian is supposed to do
It is not hard ask your doctor to speak to a nutritionist.
Remember she is a dietician. She has certification. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. ☺️
Good luck :)
ya no she is definitely amazing! I had a nutritionist for a little over a month and it was nothing like this!
I’m so proud of you Zach you’ve worked so hard in all these videos and it’s paid off.
For real, he's an inspiration.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last week and I’m currently in the hospital, looking for videos on diabetes and I found this video. Zach’s blood test results made me so emotional and I hope I’m able to cope just like he did.
Hope you're doing well, I'm a type 2 diabetic and 17 years old, much love. ❤
TD1 too!
Rad Edits Me too! I was laughing when he said, "132. That's definitely high"
ElijahRobatz right? I was like, that's so good, especially after he ate all the foods he said he did. If my sugar could be that after a NORMAL meal, I'd be golden
Same here! If I ate like that My numbers would probably be around 300+ for the rest of the day :/
YEAH THE TYPE 1 DIABETICS
I keep coming back to this video.. When I found out I was a pre-diabetic at the age of like 29 I freaked out right away. I thought my life was over for sure until I cam across this video... I watched it everyday on my journey while I tried to beat this sickness... Within 4 months I reversed everything.. I give this video credit... no longer a pre diabetic .
Congratulations. How did you do it? What was your diet?
@@leahjacob3553 literally baked fish/ lean meat and veggies everyday. I eliminated sugar and salt from my diet. I also started my morning with a Kale shake or oatmeal daily... I wasn't having soft drinks anymore and I learned to love black coffee :D. within a matter a months I dropped 50 pounds and reversed it.. since this video I gained all my weight back almost 300 poounds now but I managed to retain my diet. still not a diabetic anymore .. my Alc is 5.4 now
@@thinline8504 "5.3" that's wonderful! I wish my A1C was that low 😭. Do you exercise? Why no salt? So, no "wheat or dairy" in your diet, correct? I'm prediabetic and can't seem to lower my A1C. I am going to try it. No more sugar, wheat & dairy.
@@leahjacob3553 Yea! I was just working out at the gym and I finished a 10 mile bike ride today .Now I'm drinking a kale shake. I work out everyday ..I eliminated salt mainly because my cholesterol was so high too.. Everything was high.. Lastly, love dairy , and wheat. I don't have dairy everyday but when I do consume dairy it's on a cheat day! I was a pre diabetic too but only for 3 months haha... It's very easy you just need to discipline yourself thats all!
I don't like candy or soda, but i love chocolate...
Oml Zach... So happy for him. 😭
I’m the same but like its with soda and cinnamon rolls. 😩 I know that there are types of dark chocolate that are sweetened with stevia so on the plus side, u can give up sugar and keep eating chocolate. it’s a huge jump from milk chocolate though. It’s the same way w/ soda stevia soda exists but the sugar stuff is just 👌👌👌
Make it yourself... 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil, 1 Teaspoon Cocoa Powder, 1 Teaspoon Stevia! Put it in the Fridge for 30 Minutes = Enjoy a guilt free Snack :) And yes, you could do that more than once, as it is only healthy Fats :)
I love love chocolate. I had to stop eating it because it kept breaking me out.I miss it 😩
Nothing wrong with chocolate, it just depends what chocolate.
Sicarius Peremo I use cacao powder from Trader Joes!
I'm so happy for Zach!!
Ref I know, right? I've been rooting for him to get a normal A1C since the 20% body fat in six weeks video.
Every type 1 just dreams that they could hear those words 'you haven't got it anymore'

So starting my diet again but didn't know about gluten free
I love this so so much, especially the message behind it - not just all about weight loss or looks but about health and looking after your body... More videos like this please!
For any stress-eaters out there, find something that gives you a mental release. Try drawing, reading, writing, working out, painting, just whatever. I do most of the above and it seriously helps with stress.
As someone allergic to milk I would like to point out that whey protein is the protein found in milk.

Damn that woman is stressed asf
Congrats Zach you earned that 5.2 celebrate a bit but don’t get too far off the diet.
You can’t treat it as a diet, it’s a life style. By eating healthy you are changing your life for the better, ensuring a longer and healthier life.
But the meaning of a diet is what you eat. A diet doesn't necessarily mean to eat healthy.
Britt L they mean what society tends to consider a diet eg a short-term change, usually for weight loss, that tends to deprive to the point of failure
I cried when Zach talked about his results. I'm so proud of him!
So happy for Zach!
Add flavor to your meals, most hot sauces would’ve followed the meal plans and almost all seasonings. Flavor is the key to dieting.
Hot saucisse have a lot of sugar
Oki Doki not true
Oki Doki there's seracha and hot sauce with no sugar, always check the label
Flatiron dried peppers are the BEST!!
gotta watch out for the sodium as well
Sarah may have a thyroid or vitamin/mineral deficiency
The nutritionist?
"132 that's definitely high."
*Not if you just ate ALL the things you listed.*
kaykay12152 it’s still high weather he ate them or not. But he was expecting it so if your saying he was surprised then I don’t think he was but yeah idk
mine was 552 when I diagnosed myself
kaykay12152, no that is not high. Try in the seven hundreds, that's high !
Normal is 80 - 120, so his was slightly elevated
I'm type one and if I have a honey bun my blood sugar goes into the 200's (witthout insulin)
Thank you so much for explaining and clarifying the difference between type 1and type 2 diabetes. I have type 1 and it's always reassuring to see that some people aren't ignorant and understand the difference. I like that the info is being put out there. Thanks again!
My jaw dropped when i saw zack’s results😍👏👏 I’ve never been this proud for a stranger
😆
I got my test results back this morning. I have type 2. This video gives me hope that with diet and exercise I might be okay.
good luck!!
You can do it! I believe in you!
Try keto instead.
A girl named Paige you’re going to be fine! everyone here supports you. just know you’re not the only one, there are surprisingly SOOOO many other people with it too! I was diagnosed I thought i was the only one, look at all the comments. good luck
Zain Iqbal thats terrible for you a vegan high card low fat is the best diet
How heavy were you?
@@AlexisDimes right!!!
Anna Bradford i agree.
type 2 is lifestyle...type 1 is something you can't control your body just doesn't produce insulin.
Diabetes 1, thank your parents... You can still revert it though!
Brianne Soogrim honestly if we all where upset by this video they'd never make more. Awareness is important on all sides not just mine
I’m making group chats on my Instagram full of type one diabetics! Contact me and I’ll add you to it! @coffeyseann

this video made me smile.
Bravo!!
OMG I AM SO SO SO SO SO PROUD OF ZACH. He really deserved it. He was consistent and didn't give up and had the biggest results. Big props!!
Last month I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I changed my diet and I’ve lost 7 kgs in 30 days. Can’t wait to have my insulin and blood sugar tested again in two months!
why did this video make me so emotional?
Because people are eating themselves to death, and it is all reversible! All known folk-diseases is!
I think it was probably, more specifically, because my dad is diabetic, come to think of it...
Same
I really loved the ending, where she threw out the candy instead of eating it; out of respect for herself.
When he said he wasn’t diabetic anymore I actually had to fight back tears. I’m so happy for him!
I literally cried when Zack got his results. Being from a diabetic family, I struggle with this thought all the time. Hope you guys stay on track.
Knitting is really good for calming down! I'm addicted to knitting. If I don't knit I will get restless and a bit of anxiety.
Yea 19, and 300 is not good. Please take care of yourself !its very important
Im 19 too and weight in the Low 200s but I actually have pre diabetes so you're really lucky!!!
Can we just talk about how proud we all need to be of zach?
Title: We quit dairy...
Kane: So I got some choclate whey protein
I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and I know type 1 and type 2 are different but honestly the fact that someone very populat is finally making a video like this and showing what the basics of helping the individual are is great!
Zack's results made me cry!! What a powerful change. Also his attitude throughout the video was so inspiring. It blows my mind to see three people in only 3 months change their levels so drastically!
7.6 to 5.3!!!!!! That's freaking amazimg!!! More power to them!
aahhh, i’ve been very worried. i am afraid i might have prediabetes or diabetes, so i’ve been kinda. avoiding the topic with doctors. i didn’t know you could beat diabetes before this video, and it’s making me feel a lot better. i’m also so glad zach beat his after his journey. i’m very proud of him & inspired for myself
She suggested no dairy AND she suggested whey protein powder???? Whey=dairy.
Finally someone mentions it
Whey doesn't contain as much lactose as other dairy products like milk.
My bf is lactose intolerant & he can eat certain cheese like sharp cheddar & parmesan. He also drinks Fairlife milk. Not all dairy has lactose
Honestly my type of diabetes is down at the bottom and no one knows about it
I agree!
They need to make a video series on the various types of diabetes, because there's not just three types (types 1 & 2 and gestational.)
It is a major psychological battle but can be won and thru practice/modification the goals can be reached.
bulcub yeah as a type 1 I can see that type 2 is also hard to manage. :) good luck
As a type 2 diabetic, I love this video. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle, lol
She seems like there is more going on. Thyroid ?
Meghan kitzel Definitely possible

Thyroids aren't the cause of erveryrhing and doesn't affect as much ppl try to use as an excuse
@@devinngeorge No one is making excuses. We're saying that her low energy levels could possibly be related to a thyroid problem
Sugar is like a drug to me
Ishan Ali sugar IS a drug.
Yeah. It is a drug and it totally affects me like a drug.

Its actually more addictive than heroin and many other intoxicants
It's a very socially accepted drug and like all drugs they should be used in moderation
She's 40?!?! Damn girl!
the end made me so happy for her.. ;♡;
I thought late 20s!

They should do a type 1 version so people could realize how different the two types are
The keto diet plus fasting practically cured me of my diabetes.
Exactly :) Congrats!
I just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This really helped. Thank you 🙏🏽
I love this. I’m diabetic and I reversed my diabetes but like zack said it can always come back. Good job zack
Zach's results almost made ME cry. SUPER awesome seeing how these little changes made such a big difference in their lives.
I’m so happy for all three of them. Really inspiring to lower sugar intake in a healthy, realistic way
I became vegan quite a long time ago and a side effect of that was to normalize my blood sugars from 600 to 700 to normal levels and A1C that was 12.5 to an A1C that is 5.1. Elizabeth MD Ph.D specialized nutritional science
Elizabeth Shaw I've been vegan since January and I want to make sure I'm on the right track. What kind of blood test could I take to check all this?
Erin, I've been vegan for just over 2 years and my doctor ordered a general test to see if i was getting the nutrients i need. Unless you have symptoms a regular general test is what doctors usually go for. :)
I'm assuming you mean 60 instead of 6. I think you'd be dead if your blood glucose levels were at 6 lol
katelynn so you want her to walk in and ask for a regular General test? There isn't such a thing. We all even myself need to be informed consumers of Medical Care. Most likely you had all three tests with blood drawn for them rather than a finger-stick hemoglobin A1c. Be well!
Nick Huschle 600 to 700 and I will go back and change that. I need to voice type 100% of the time now and I don't always catch the mistakes. Thank you for pointing that out.
I go here in a few hours to get my A1C checked and everything. Been having all the symptoms of diabetes. I'm only 26 but I have found hope with this video. Thank you guys
Thank you for changing the title. I hate the misconception that I got my type 1 diabetes from being fat/eating the wrong foods.
Victoria Davis Well type 2 is when your body can't give enough insulin but it's usually overweight and bad diet but it could be stress as well.
This is an eye opener to us all. Little change is what we all need to do. You never know when it could happen to you.
Common sense, look at your Ancestors!
Deb Steinshouer why is that? What happens when he goes back on that normal diet he used to eat?
Alexis Dimes He will relapse into diabetes
That is what he said...it can come back
I mean even if he can't this is still generally a better diet for overall health see so it might be good to stick to it.
I mean, obviously if you go back to the habits that made you sick, you're gonna get sick again.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TYPE 1 AND 2 OMG
Jay text me on Instagram to start a group chat of type one diabetics, I’m trying to get as much as possible! @coffeyseann
K I requested to follow you
this thread made me gain faith in humanity for a minute
Oooo can I join I’m t1d
yes preach it please, I’m a type 1 diabetic and the frustration is real
I have Pre-Diabetes and have started this elimination diet for around 30-40 days. Part of the reason of starting it is because of minor digestive issues yet I’m hoping it will help lower my blood sugar as well. I do take medication to also try to help with my blood sugar control.
Whey is dairy soooo that protein does not follow this??
