Since making this video I have done a ridiculous amount of month-long challenges. My latest challenge: I wrote a song every day for a month. See it here: ruclips.net/video/2k_DkpPRWhA/видео.html
How did your wife make it through her "time of the month" with no sugar? I tend to get a bit on the homicidal side, if I don't get my chocolate, that week.

I slowly went from 4 sodas a day and junk food at 175 lbs. (I'm 5'7") by the end of 2019 to 120 lbs. today. I replaced sodas with gatorade, then gaterade with juice, then juice with water all the while increasing my water intake. I did the same thing with junk food. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Lack of convenience to not eating sugar should not be our issue, but rather it should be an indication of the joined effort the food industry is doing to make it hard and their food more addictive.
Hey Wheezy. Seriously I want to improve my diet. It must not be going well because though I changed what I eat or how much I eat I am still overweight to the point I might be obese. Tell me what I'm doing wrong: 1. I recently changed my coffee-drinking. I either planned on doing with only sugar or with only milk. Not the way I used to do which was both. Which way can be better? (I don't like black coffee but I enjoy the taste of coffee. I just can't handle it straight). 2. I have been cooking and eating more veggies. I guess it matters which ones I choose and also if they are chopped and cooked by me versus something processed before I get it to my house. 3. I have reduced milk/dairy intake. Though that one is kind of hard for me. I admit I haven't been doing that one well lately. 4. Exercise. I have been pushing myself to walk more. Sometimes I walk home from work versus doing it any other way. I probably need to pick up the pace right? Please give me advice and any insight! Thank you in advance whether you do or not.
I think it is cuz everything is so processed, it is almost entirely raw acid... so they sweeten it so it will taste better. It’s supposedly the corn syrup solids that bog down your cells and cannot be processed.
Artificial. There are other plant based sweeteners that are low glycemic and don't effect insulin which is a good bit of where cravings and fat storage come from.
10 days without sugar, alcohol or processed foods. I have lost 9 pounds so far. No cardio however I did start lifting weights. I feel much better and have no desire for sugar.
Mmm sounds good. I am also planning to start. Regarding weight lifting already got a disabled child whose care taking itself gives me lifting excercise though in a different way
Wow! This video is growing far beyond my expectations! Welcome to all the new people. The video I made after this is called Why Do People Like Exercise? and it can be found here ruclips.net/video/pOmoxidaj5w/видео.html Can anyone tell me why the like exercise besides for health or beauty? Or why you hate it?
In my opinion, the best thing about living without added sugar is that everything that is healthy tastes much better and sweeter. Sometimes even an apple is almost too sweet for me. The only problem is that you can relapse very quickly even after months without added sugar. At least for me it always remains a small challenge to avoid sugar.
It's hard to explain the exact feeling, but after awhile you just feel...clean. When you start putting much better stuff into your body it changes everything to the point you can actually feel the way bad food affects your body. It's still ok to splurge once in awhile, but overall it leads to a much healthier lifestyle when you cut out as much sugar as possible. It's a bit sad in a way, but I'm at a point now that I don't even enjoy Girl Scout cookies(used to look forward to them every year) anymore because I can taste the sugar in it now and it just ruins it.
I went to Europe the first time in my life back in the mid 80s. at that time most foods had way less sugar then the U.S. I came back a few years later and could taste a difference. Now days the Europeans have as much added sugar as us here in America. I think it's to kill us off after we can't work anymore.
That s me too,i used to eat fast food, pastry very often, then i cut to very few ocassion a year, and i feel it each time i eat it,my stomach hurst after and i feel sleepy!i still crave and eat even knowing how i will feel after, but i do that so rare!as well as i dont buy anymore sweet yoghurts, desserts, etc,i ate recently a yoghurt with sugar in it,tastes soo bad,i feel the damn sugar in it,same with processed meat from stores,i stopped buying for a year and buy just from small local shops, and tastes like garbage the one from stores,i feel the chemicals in it.sorry for my english,is not my native language!
Oh, it's true. I want to move to Italy & they eat such fresh goods. Non-GMO, mostly organic, fresh picked with REAL taste like we used to have before GMOs & pesticides. 🙄☹️
I quit sugar for a while and then when I tried my absolute FAVORITE sweet of all time, Reece’s peanut butter cups, it tasted like metal. It was awful and I spit it out.
Yeah, takes a couple months to shake the addiction. Stopping sugar has meant lower inflammation in every part of the body. It has ended my headaches and reduced migraines to practically none. Healthier gut biome means heathier neurotransmitter balance meaning fewer moods (everyone around me is very grateful, LOL!). I have more steady energy, less irritability, less brain fog, fewer skin issues, better digestion, more focus... It does take more planning to have food with me at all times so I don't have to stop for foodlike substances beside the road, but definitely it has been worth the effort in my case once I got past the withdrawal. My body's reaction to sugar at this point tells us it's (to borrow a phrase) a helluva drug. Read Sugar Blues if you want to see how this will reduce your medical costs and misery too. Sugar wrecks every system in the body over time. I feel so much better without it.
thank you for this @falcon britt! totally agree that hard work paid off and I do want to add that i feel younger as well. i have to be very creative with my food preparation.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in April 2018. I quit processed foods as much as possible and learned how to cut carbs and fats. No sodas, no cakes and cookies etc. I strictly watch everything I put in my mouth. Sodium was cut out as close to completely as possible. Cooking takes time now and it tastes so much better. I lost 20lbs without doing a thing. Yes there was a withdrawal period. Then...I started hitting the gym. Let me put it in perspective. I could barely get off my couch. I had joint problems. I could barely walk around the block or up and down the stairs without being winded. I was sure I'd never run or dance again. After 6 months...my husband and I both have lost 50lbs. I can run. I can dance. I went from a size XXL: to a S. I have muscles! Beautiful muscles that eat up more fat and give me more energy. My blood pressure went from the 200s to 120s. (how was i even still alive). I dont need diabetes meds. It's an incredible change and it all started with getting rid of sugars and sodium. No cravings. No lethargy. Just a great life full of adventure now. Everything this video said was totally true. Do it. Give yourself this gift of life because its ultimately worth it. Start slow.
Had to do exactly the same thing and am getting the same results. It's not easy but then you kinda get used to it. Salads, fish(forgot how much I liked fish. Plus I can get fresh fish right off the dock in less than 20 minutes), meats in the right proportions again. It works.
*Jonnyskia I too made permanent life changes about 18 months ago, I was diagnosed type 2 diabetes 7 years ago and was in denial for 5.5 years, last month my doc took me off metformin (diabetes med) because all my blood results were in the green after losing about 40kg and gone down 4 pants sizes, my BP is in the 120's, I'm within 7kg of my goal weight, the BMI scale is BS because it doesn't take into account heavy builds and heavy bones like me, apparently I'll always be overweight but I'll feel great and don't take any notice of BMI, the big changes I've made are diet and exercise, it's taken me over a year to be able to swim 80 pool lengths non stop and each day I climb about 20 floors, I eat my main meal at 10am and have a very light snack at night which is often salad or veg, I still allow myself a treat once a week but get right back on track for the remaining 6 days, well done with your new journey and keep up the good work, Kia Kaha from Aotearoa

@@jaeehovaa well a diet is just what you eat, so we all diet, but if you're asking if I restricted food, then sort of, I ate meat, vegetables, rice, potatoes, but very little processed foods, and no sugar, honey, high fructose corn syrup, or artifical sweetners. Most effective way to lose weight is to manage your calories. Most effective way to really being healthier is to reduce your sugar consumption(as well as not smoking and not being a heavy drinker and just half an hour light exercise every day) I am doing good with most these things and I can honestly say I'm one of the healthiest people I know.

Did you continue to see improvements past the 1 month mark? Since you've done it more long term do you feel better mentally or physically, which they apparently did not?
@@christopherpape4823 Well, I didn't do it for health reasons, personally. I did it for addiction reasons. I am extremely addicted to sugar and used to be unable to control myself when any sweet treats were close by. So, as far as the goal of getting rid of my cravings and regaining control of myself is concerned, going completely sugar free has worked wonders for me! :D I really like not being ruled by my cravings anymore. As far as health, I did lose a decent amount of weight initially, roughly 15 pounds, though the weight loss stabilized after a few months. I do feel better over all, but it's hard to say if that is exclusively due to me going sugar free, because I have been making other changes to my eating habits and exercise routine as well. Though, studies do show that a lot of sugar consumption can lead to very bad health outcomes over time, like heart disease. But the occasional sweet treat doesn't seem to cause people too much problem as far as I have read. It seems to be more about the amount and frequency which determines how it will affect your health. Based on what I've read, having 50g or less added sugar each day seems to be the highest amount for maintaining good health. Personally, I would really only recommend going completely sugar free if you've got a serious addiction which makes you unable to stop yourself from binging on sugary foods/drinks (like I used to). If you're the kind of person who can easily limit yourself to the occasional sugary treat with no problem, you should be fine. I think of it like alcoholism. Most people have no problem occasionally having a few drinks without going overboard. But it's not a good idea for a recovering alcoholic to even have one drink, or they might relapse. If not relapse, then instead suffer from intense cravings for a few days or weeks afterwards, which is pretty miserable.
KaytOfTheBlackCoats hey i have a question how did you stop yourself from eating sugar, i tend to binge eat a lot on sugar etc just like you, i have a very hard problem committing to this but i need to do it for health reasons, what things did you do to help you not give up and eat
Instead of adding acid neutralizing sugar to red sauce, your mom could add finely grated carrot. The naturally occurring sugar content provides the same effect, plus it adds bulk and nutrients. I also add finely grated zucchini, for a heartier more nutritious sauce.
My wife had an ulcer one year and had to switch most acidic things out of our meals. She is a magician in the kitchen and made red sauce using beets carrots and mushroom powder, along with seasonings of course. I was amazed. It’s identical if not better than your typical tomato marinara. To your point, food companies could do better but your right, they would rather make money and sugar is cheap.
It's every company blaming every other company for their shit. Salt companies fund studies against fat and sugar, sugar does it against fat and salt, etc etc. Added salt is bad for you, sugar without dietary fiber is bad for you because it doesn't fill you up, and trans fats are bad for you. At least fat straight off the bone is digested slowly and fills you up.
Look up Dr. Attia for anyone who doubts this. He does a three hour deep dive into the $230 MILLION dollar government study that proved a high carb diet gives Americans diabetes and even higher cancer rates, and they teamed up with these corporations to push high carb on us anyway. Now it's gone on for forty years, and people who claim to be going 'low carb' are typically still eating more carbohydrates than their natural insulin levels can keep up with. You've got to be on what society considers to be a weird diet to be strong and fit now.
That is why a lot of Chinese restaurants use monosodium glutamate (MSG) or sugar and salt; these activate the craving you describe. Jenny, a friend and Chinese restaurant owner said to me; " always request not to put MSG in your food".
Ada is so cute! At one point during the video, you guys were talking and ignoring her when she reached out to you and then she reached out to the camera! Cuteness overload! 8:06
I cut out sugar and flour and lost 65 pounds. My tolerance for alcohol dropped to zero. I’ve maintained that loss for 3 years and counting. One piece of toffee at Christmas turned into 3/4 of an acre of toffee and I gained 7lbs overnight. 6weeks later I’m still trying to get back down. Stay sugar free frosty, amigos!

It was a cute segment. Someone above complained about it. "Don't ignore your baby, Jesus!" Some people can't observe others without finding some kind of fault.
I love you guys. Thank you for this video. I am currently in the process of quitting added sugars (for the upteenth time, but dang it, I'm gonna win this battle for the sake of my health and sanity). God bless you guys and your family!!!
I quit sugar forever. I also drastically changed my diet to 90% vegetables. Low carbs. I think that I had a bunch of health issues that were creeping up on me over the years. Once I gave up sugar, they began to retreat. The biggest thing I was paying attention to was my blood glucose. It began to enter the territory of pre-diabetes. So I got real serious, real quick. I went cold turkey on sugar. The blood sugar problem is going to take more time to "fix", if fixing it is even possible, but in the meantime, I'm moved the numbers south without medication. I exercise and eat right. Another thing that resolved itself is my pinky toenail used to split. It doesn't split anymore. I began to lose weight rather easily. I lost 15 pounds and I'm still losing weight. My fingers used to swell when I exercised on a hot day. That's gone now. My fingers used to hurt in the middle of the night. That's gone now. I had some other more personal problems that were chronic and doctors couldn't get to the bottom of them. That has greatly improved, although I imagine some damage is permanently done there. But I no longer worry about it and that it continues to get worse. It's not getting worse. I know I'm forgetting some things. At first, I felt a little drained for a few days but now I feel perfectly normal. I don't have more, or less energy. My blood sugar now only reaches less than 120 max, but the low end is still a work in progress. Some days I'm in the mid to high 80's for a week, then another week in the low 90's. So, my blood sugar isn't spiking anymore. Before I started this, I saw my blood sugar hit 153 one hour after dinner. So that kind of reading is gone now. I don't miss sugar. I don't eat anything processed. No cereal. Nothing that can be bought at a 7-11. The only meat I'm eating now is boiled chicken that I add to my vegetable meals to get protein. And eggs. I also take a magnesium supplement to help to keep the blood sugar down. When I first started taking that, my blood sugar went quickly into the low 80's for a week. Then it went back up into the low 90's. The blood sugar thing is a real problem. Even in the 90's, it's too high. It needs to be in the mid to low 80's when fasting. So I'm hoping that over time I can fix the damage done by a lifetime of eating crap and not really exercising. One other thing that happened is that I'm running farther than I have since many years, and my heart rate is lower than it's been before. I'm typically between 60 and 65 now. A month and a half ago, I was around 70-73. It's a big difference in a short time. I can't see myself ever, ever going back to eating just whatever I want anymore.
I am in my 50's and concerned about my husband and I eventually having type 2 diabetes. I'm trying to watch what I eat. Do you think taking your blood glucose level on a daily basis make it easier for you to watch what you eat?
It does for me, because I get to see what different foods will or won't spike my blood glucose. Once I saw what some of the foods I was eating was doing to my blood glucose, I was shocked. That's probably how it was so easy for me to say no to junk food snacks of any kind.
I have Type II diabetes and my goal is to get off medications. I started a high fat/low carb diet and within 10 days my morning glucose reading went from 160ish to 119ish. Besides the scale reading, the morning glucose number confirms to me I am heading down the right path for me. It's not all about weight. I feel great; no swelling, no arthritic pain, no brain fog, and lots of energy.
@burteriksson Why do you think it got so many views?? By coincidence, this topic is "trendy" right now so it would be more likely to show up in people's recommended pages.
I think about this a lot. I cut out sugar nearly 10 years ago while I was in middle school. Stopped consuming because I wanted to cut back on acne. Now of course I still use condiments and stay away from additional sugars. It really made me feel better and change how I view what I consume.
I quit sugar back in August 2019. The only Sugar I got was for my birthday a few days ago (a lot of Cake) I had lost more than 40 pounds. I'm a short guy - 5'4-- I was 220 pounds back in July, -- today I'm at 173 pounds. No cookies, no candies, no chocolates, no sweet drinks - no Coke- no Pepsi - not even juice drinks. The only sugar I get is from regular and normal food. I'd reduced carbohydrates and start eating some salads. My jean waist size was 38 - today I'm wearing my old jeans size 32. It's nice.
Did the same thing. Im 22, 280 ibs and 5'8". 2 months in I'm down to 250. Want to keep going till I get to 175. Glad to hear of your success! And keep it up 🔥🔥🔥
@@DPaul-wg6lq I eat pasta probably once a month. I eat bread maybe twice a week. Anytime I eat any kind of bread it feels that I wanna keep eating. Anytime I go to the grocery store I buy 5 pieces of bread. Yeah I eat five pieces of regular bread per week.
I'm only 2 minutes in but I have to say I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did, your script and editing is absolutely delightful! So much happening, perfect for my high-maintenance brain and great way to make learning fun imo.
sugar is in much more things than one initially imagines. even tomato sauce for cooking has it, ketchup and other dressings have it, baked goods have it, bread has a load of it, store bought juices have it and the list goes on. So to REALLY eliminate all processed sugars besides fruit, then you REALLY have to eliminate a whole lot of stuff.
Love this style of narrating! Kudos for your efforts! The problem with sugars is elevated glucose levels, diabetes, and a fatty liver. The liver part is HUGE...you only get one, unless you're hoping for a transplant and anti-rejection drugs for the rest of your life which have many side effects. Keep your liver healthy and your life expectancy will be formidable.
Liver transplants very rarely will go to any adult. Most adult liver problems are caused by alcohol or drugs. This automatically disqualifies you from liver transplants. No adult will get a new liver
LoveIsAllThereIs You're so right! Agree 100%. Unfortunately once the damage is done it's nearly impossible to change back. The layers of muck that are added are a huge challenge to unburden. It seems, ain't nobody got time for that shit (sigh). It's a rare person who becomes introspective enough, and commits the time & effort, to get back to their innate, pure, empathetic, kind & loving nature.
Also, added to the health benefits of going 30 days with no added sugar is that it is a great mental strengthening exercise in self control/discipline and delayed gratification which can't be under valued if you wish to take control of your life and state of well being.
2 years ago I made a radical change of zero carbs to kill the sugar addiction. First 3 days was absolute HELL. day 4, my headaches and brain fog were gone, i could actually remember the little details of events from the prior week, remember my task list without looking at my calendars, and I had soooo much energy that I didnt feel any impulse to stay in bed one extra hour. My mood lifted high, PMS was nonexistent, cramps never came again, and in the 23 days i remained at zero carb (except fibers) i lost 38lbs, which at this point have never regained. Day 24, i had a teaspoon of honey with my coffee and OMG i was fkd up! 2 days of heavy fatigue and clouded thinking.
This comment actually makes me want to cut down on sugar, but not cut it out. If ones sensitivity to honey can be so extreme...I would rather cut down than cut out.
I have been obese for the last 15 years. About 7 months ago, I stopped consuming Saturated fats, caffeinated sugary drinks, milk and bread. After about 45 days, I lost all my cravings. I stopped eating ALL the time, especially before bed. I now eat about 1/6th of the portion I was eating. I have no craving to snack and I rarely feel hungry, and I sleep better. My main foods are rice, tomatos, peppers, veggies, and sometimes with chicken and beef. I usually eat my rice medley with semi salty tortilla chips. I am currently losing about 5-10 lbs a month. I topped out at 375 lbs and I am now down to probably 280 lbs. I never considered the sugar factor to be the cause of the constant hunger. Makes sense, though.

kingofbudokai I’ve been on the paleo diet for longer than a year now, which means I cut out as many carbohydrates (with the exception of dietary fibers) as I possibly can. I also cut out grains and dairy. My meal options are fairly limited, but overall it’s not too hard once you get used to it. You do have to spend a tiny bit more money on organic foods, but then at least you’re not spending so much on bad food, right? Every time I cheat a little bit I feel like utter sh*t that day and the day after. It makes me think that eating bad food isn’t worth the terrible feeling, not to mention the guilt as well. I’m happy to believe that my life expectancy is greater now. When I began the diet, I didn’t even have any fat to lose; I just wanted to be healthier. But I at least feel like nothing is bogging me down in any way. I never feel like I lose sleep, and I also feel like I have more motivation to do things. My primary meal substance is leafy greens and nuts. The rest of my diet consists of fruits and meats. It’s great 👍 TL;DR: The paleo diet works for me, even though I never had weight to lose.
I quit all processed sugar and juices almost 3 months ago for health reasons. My cholesterol was high and nothing else helped when I found out sugar is a major cause of cholesterol. The physical difference was absolutely amazing. Week one was difficult. By week 3 I lost the taste for sugar. I lost 10lbs of fat in two weeks. I’m not going back to sugar because I can’t but I feel SO much better
I’ve been sugar free for almost 3yrs now. Honestly it wasn’t really that tough. Best thing I’ve ever done. Given up sugar, cleaning up my diet and hitting the gym 5 days a week has helped me loose over 150lbs now and change my life. I feel better than ever! At this point it’s routine and I will never go back!
Y’all are awesome! You’re hilarious! I loved watching this video. I did the same sugar-free lifestyle with my ex for 2 weeks. This time around was easier for me and difficult for him. However, we completed it. Keto foods from Costco are the way to go for a sugar-free lifestyle. Mahalo for sharing! 🤙🏽😁
If you watch some or a lot of the Chinese recipe you will find that there is sugar by itself or in other forms such as hoisin sauce and salt; salt in various forms like soy sauce, oyster sauce. The combination of salt and sugar gives that "umame", the '5th" taste. Sugar is lodged in for the next 90 days in your hemoglobin. I was told at Stanford that A1C number is the average sugar in your hemoglobin for 90 days; the hemoglobin has 120 days of life.
I read your comment before that scene and thought to myself: "Whatever happens, it can't be so funny that I literally laugh out loud". I was very wrong. It was hilarious :D
I just quit a month ago. Within two weeks I no longer thought about having a soda, chocolate, or anything sweet. Never went through withdrawals. Can't say that I feel any healthier, I've always been healthy. What I can say is that I lost my belly fat and love handles so quick and am saving all the money I spent on sweets. I'm not a total, I can't eat anything with sugar. I have found delicious bread with no or 1 gram of sugar per slice. My drink of choice is water with lemon juice. My biggest benefit is greatly reducing my chance of getting diabetes. I wish I had quit years ago.
I've been a diabetic type 2 and still have no symptoms associated with this illness. My weight is stable, never more than 105 lbs (except when I was pregnant which I gained only 20 lbs). Now at 72 yrs old, my weight is 96 lbs. I'm careful of what I eat and don't stop reading/learning about this illness.
That's awesome! My husband was diagnosed pre-diabetic, so we quit sugar and went low carb, and 6 months later they did more bloodwork and told him he's not pre-diabetic at all anymore.
I feel your pain, as I quit sugar for health reasons. It is never easy people because if you fall off the wagon all of those old temptations creep in. Difference now is sweets make me ill and fast food sits in my stomach like a cinder block. Many of those nagging ailments seem to disappear , like joint pain, asthma sypmtoms/allergies, sleep issues, etc....... I now prepare all my food at home, from bread to yogurt, beans and I now have a renewed passion for cooking. Power to the SUGAR FREE.
Carpman: most people have lost the art of cooking, sewing, and home economics. I took a home economics class in highschool and I can cook, sew and balance a checkbook. I think most of the kids today just learn how to play computer games and do not learn how to take care of themselves so they buy every meal fast food style.
WOW, this is the first WheezyWaiter video I've seen, and it's as laugh out loud funny as Seinfeld was back in the 90's. F**king hilarious, great showmanship Wheezy!
Did it a few years ago...lost weight and muscle mass (my fault for not eating more and continuing to lift weights)...but also noticed a spring pollen season with NO hay fever or asthma, no more hiccups after eating spicy food, and loss of gastro sensitivity to coffee. I can still drink coffee without any gastro issues. I tend to limit my sugar after that experience. Now my 'experiment' is intermittent fasting...been doing it for 12 months...LOVE IT. Belly fat still going away...very convenient lifestyle. Six feet, 170 pounds now...looking like I did in college, almost...I'm 56.
i started fasting once i started to have a sex life and wake up at 12 pm, but only get out of bed to eat at 16 pm, quite an experience, considering my last meal would be around 22 pm. It made me feel better, with less gastro problems, but i have to take care of myself nowadays otherwise i just go a day without eating. It´s quite a change, you can hold to musculature pretty well also
@@Pedroliebert Yep it's easy to forget to eat...feeling hungry is uncommon, and even when I do, I wait an hour and it's gone. I'm never hungry in the morning anyway so this works great for me and it's a very sustainable lifestyle choice. My advice is to still eat well, don't overeat, drink water....and avoid too many 'bad carbs'.
A few years ago I did the same thing, cut out sugar, alcohol, caffeine and went onto a hard Keto diet, mainly protein and u refined cars, ate every 3 hours and worked out with weights for an hour a day. I went from 19 stone to 16 then up to 16.6 (muscle weight causes you to gain weight even tho fat is lost) in about 4 months. Felt full of energy, slept better, had more motivation but the most amazing thing was after all that time I was visiting a friend and he made me a coffee and offered me a plain shortbread cookie, I took it and honestly it tasted like it was made of pure sugar, in reality it was the bland est cookie you can get but with not having sugar for so long it just tasted soo sweet.
@@WoodFaerie I would say a diet per say doesn't work bar short term it's in fact to me part of the definition of the word itself. I think a better description is change in complete dietary lifestyle as that implies a more permanent status and that does work. In my experience it's 80% food and drink and 20% excercise but I guess everyones different
@xrcrx ftfghjg and the only reason im asking is because all too often you have people thinking that dieting is a sure fire way to lose fat when really you will lose it, but after a while you won't then its up to you to exercise to get where you want to be. So im just wondering if your one of those dummies, but granted i shouldn't say that because it isn't their fault. people will just regurgitate random bs facts and stats without fully talking about what exactly dieting is. Which ends up filling peoples heads with trivial nonsense.
@@martynfenton4862 i hate how youtubes tagging system is sometimes, but i know who that was for, so no biggie. Wait now im confused it kind of looks like you are addressing both people very odd...
@@WoodFaerie yes the tag system is crap I agree. In fact I was sitting on fence a little and saying the word itself "diet" to me implies short term and hence won't work long term. It's full long term lifestyle that will make difference. Cut out processed supermarket shite and eat real home cooked fresh food😃
Just saw this! I reduced my sugar intake by 50 to 75%. (I have fatty liver disease and it was making me uncomfortable). I dropped about 6lbs in a little over a week! Shows how sugar I ate. Feeling much better now. Will keep a low sugar diet from now on. I appreciate the humor in this video and I can definitely relate.
actually it shows how much water retention you had. nobody is gaining six pounds a week just from sugar so the opposite doesn’t happen either. sugar = carbs = water retention = water weight
Diabetic for 17 years here….please cut out carbs all together. You’re liver disease is caused by sugar turning to fat around your liver. Get rid of it. Ketogenic and fasting has helped me and my blood glucose still goes up from glycogen in fat cells. There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates. Your body fabricates it from your fat cells so use it up. I only eat 20 net grams of carbs a day and am doing fine.
Trying to figure out the scenario where are you forced to choose sugar or heroine. I am imagining you tied to a chair at gunpoint. The gangster with the gun just happens to have a lot of stock in coke and painkillers. He gives you an option, drink the soda or inject yourself with heroin or you are a goner. I think you made the right choice man. You are a hero.

They say it takes 21 days to lose a habit. So a while back I decided to quit suger a whole month, for good measure. The most important thing I gained is self control over the craving impulses for something sweet. Very recommend!
these are the easiest things that help the most: - no fizzy drinks sodas and so on - no candies - no sweet snacks - no energy bars - no flavored yogurt - no sweetened cereals - as little chocolate and ice cream as you can live with - cakes are for celebrations only Edit: also no sweet cocktails ;)
This is a great list. Basically just avoid things you know are “bad” for you or eat them in moderation. I also think that cutting down on soda with sparkling water is a great way to avoid unnecessary sugars if you have a soda craving.
I don’t consume anything on the list. Except Dr Pepper. Has always been the only sweet thing I crave. But I stopped drinking HFCS years ago & only drink pure cane sugar Dr Pepper. About 2-3 per week. Hopefully it’s okay. I’m just wondering when I should drink it. Before I eat? On an empty stomach? After I eat? Or hours apart from eating? Any advice?
@@interestingfactsonyoutube whatever suits your lifestyle.. you may have a physically intense job and need eggs and meats on most days. Or maybe natural yogurt and muesli will be better suited for you (or oats if you like that stuff). If you work in a office, then yogurt and fruit are great. Of course these aren't RULES. I think the only rule should be to avoid eating more than you can burn. And we're easily tricked into doing that, when we eat sweet stuff.
If you want to really control what you eat, give up processed, industrially prepared food and ready meals and cook from scratch, at home. That way you know what you're eating, and it's fresh. People talk about "not having time to cook." Once you get a few basic techniques and a few helpers like a pressure cooker or a slow cooker and an oven, it doesn't take all that long.
I would disagree a bit. You don't need a pressure or slow cooker to cook fast. There are lots of easy and quick recipes you can do from scratch and trying new recipes are fun and not boring at all as the comments suggests. And as you rightly said Anna at least when we cook we know what is in there.
Baron von Limbourgh You don't have to stand over the stove. Just throw four things in a slow cooker and leave it. If you can't do that because its too "boring" then what, do you just rage out in the line at the grocery?
I use the monkefruit and haven’t had sugar in 15 days. I feel amazing! Better sleep, energy, I feel I can accomplish my goals! My body tightened up. Water weight loss feels so good! You have to try it
Uncontrollable laughter when you parents made their cameo! Most of the video was so serious that I never saw that coming. I enjoyed and learned from all of it though. Think I'll try a 30 day no added sugar challenge too :-)
I started cutting back on sugar almost 2 months ago. Like you said, it's in almost everything so my strategy has been to avoid all artificial sweeteners and to keep my sugar & added sugar to less than 3g per meal. I don't have a lot of income so buying fancier sugar free alternatives isn't really an option for me so I just accept that things like bread is going to have 1g / slice. My one splurge is that instead of juice, sweet tea, coffee or energy drinks I'll occasionally have 1 can of spindrift (soda water with fruit juice) and depending on the flavor that can be up to 10g of sugar. All in all I've gone from consuming about 120-250g of sugar per day to 5-20g per day. Since I started I'm down almost 20 pounds in weight. I also find that my energy levels are more consistent throughout the day (although in the beginning that was a roller coaster and a half). I no longer crave sweets like you mentioned. And I'm finding that my mood overall is improving. Since I'm not 100% avoiding sugar I'll still happily meet up with friends occasionally at a restaurant but I'll just avoid the fancy drinks and foods that I know will be laced with lots of sugar and enjoy instead the occasional french fries and hamburger or taco. Honestly I think if someone is in a place in their life where they can give it a go, I can't recommend trying it enough. The way I'm doing it I can't really think of a single downside to continuing and I think there can only be positives (especially considering jut how much I was consuming before).
I quit drinking milk tea and replaced it with traditional green tea twice a day. That drastically reduced the amount of sugar intake when calculated over a period of time. For those who want to reduce sugar intake I would recommend this step of replacing your everyday sugar added tea /coffee with a healthier alternative.
fukthegoog That's true. But what I meant is if you're a regular tea or coffee drinker and if you calculate the amount of sugar intake from it per year or say over a span of several years then it would be much more. The consumption of processed foods do vary regionally however tea /coffee is something which majority are addicted to. If that is somehow eliminated then you'd certainly reduce your chances of sugar related problems in future.
Marc-André Blais Atleast that means that your chances of sugar related problems in future are less than an average tea /coffee drinker on your group. However instead of that if on daily basis you are consuming any juices or processed foods containing added processed sugar then that is definitely more harmful in future. Best thing if you can't eliminate sugar from other regular diets then you can replace it with cane sugar. That too helps.

Hey Wheezy. Seriously I want to improve my diet. It must not be going well because though I changed what I eat or how much I eat I am still overweight to the point I might be obese. Tell me what I'm doing wrong:
WheezyWaiter Does it have naturally occurring sugar?
That's not sweet
Why is there sugar in everything, you ask. Because it's addictive and we will BUY MORE STUFF. It's always about money. Always.
I think it is cuz everything is so processed, it is almost entirely raw acid... so they sweeten it so it will taste better. It’s supposedly the corn syrup solids that bog down your cells and cannot be processed.
U ever bought a pack of sugar just so u can eat it? I dont think so.
artificial sweeteners are worse for you than real sugar, go straight cane sugar if you want it pure
In America, if you sell food, it has to be either sweet, salty, or oil. Truth.
Artificial. There are other plant based sweeteners that are low glycemic and don't effect insulin which is a good bit of where cravings and fat storage come from.

WHEN I SPLURGE; I ALWAYS PAY FOR IT BY FEELING YUKKIE FOR A WHILE AFTER. SPLURGING LESS AND LESS; BEEN 3 YRS; GREETS FROM AU;

Well, I didn't do it for health reasons, personally.

When people did the whole "low fat" thing, companies added sugar to replace it. Now, we know fat isn't the demon we thought it was, sugar is.
Now the assholes companies try to blame salt for heart diseases and meat for diabetes, evil pieces of shit.
wait till you hear about how food places wont be allowed to fry things over 175 degrees celcius soon because it causes cancer... its a real thing
Fat does have more than twice the calories as sugar, so it's a major player in obesity.

No idea why this video was recommended to me (by RUclips), but I'm glad I watched it! Funny, and the editing is great. Bonus for hilarious parents. You might have earned yourselves a subscriber here.

+KuttyJoe must be nice to be rich.
What am I missing by not eating a steak?
I have Type II diabetes and my goal is to get off medications. I started a high fat/low carb diet and within 10 days my morning glucose reading went from 160ish to 119ish. Besides the scale reading, the morning glucose number confirms to me I am heading down the right path for me. It's not all about weight. I feel great; no swelling, no arthritic pain, no brain fog, and lots of energy.
That was the most entertaining quitting sugar video I’ve ever seen. 😁
Really?, Wow!
And keep it up 🔥🔥🔥
Wow
Good job 😊👏
Did you still eat bread and pasta?
@@DPaul-wg6lq I eat pasta probably once a month. I eat bread maybe twice a week. Anytime I eat any kind of bread it feels that I wanna keep eating. Anytime I go to the grocery store I buy 5 pieces of bread. Yeah I eat five pieces of regular bread per week.
I'm only 2 minutes in but I have to say I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did, your script and editing is absolutely delightful! So much happening, perfect for my high-maintenance brain and great way to make learning fun imo.

Agreed
sugar is in much more things than one initially imagines. even tomato sauce for cooking has it, ketchup and other dressings have it, baked goods have it, bread has a load of it, store bought juices have it and the list goes on. So to REALLY eliminate all processed sugars besides fruit, then you REALLY have to eliminate a whole lot of stuff.
This is the first video I’ve seen of you and it’s absolutely amazing, great editing and so funny!!!!
Ditto!
Omg the baby was so concerned when mum put her head down at the start....super cute. Naturally empathetic cuties they r!
What is naturally empathetic?
"uninhibited" you meant. Thanks for posting.
I watched that part 3x as I was so charmed by the baby's reaction
Except if a baby is born with ASPD(aka sociopathy and psychopathy. But in this case psychopathy would fit better). That'd be interesting.

Aissa Aset Bey. Great. But a teaspoon of honey? Two days? Not probable.
This comment actually makes me want to cut down on sugar, but not cut it out. If ones sensitivity to honey can be so extreme...I would rather cut down than cut out.

Hamer yep, I thought this video was awesome! What a great couple.
This is the most enjoyable (and informative) youtube video I've ever seen. Well done. Hats off to Mom and Dad, too.
I know we don't know each other, but i'm proud of you. Carving out new eating habits is much harder than many people realize. Keep going!

kingofbudokai I’ve been on the paleo diet for longer than a year now, which means I cut out as many carbohydrates (with the exception of dietary fibers) as I possibly can. It’s great 👍
TL;DR: The paleo diet works for me, even though I never had weight to lose.
Same but I didnt watch this my friend but me on I went from 228 to 182 in 3 months
The baby is actively observing the experiment and silently judging! SO CUTE
I have quit sugar for life. Never been happier and healthier before!
Edit: Still sugar free y'all!

PB is frosting theres so much sugar added to it. Total garbage to feed your kids.
Ketchup is half sugar.

Y’all are awesome! You’re hilarious! I loved watching this video. I did the same sugar-free lifestyle with my ex for 2 weeks. This time around was easier for me and difficult for him. McDonald's actually soak their potatoes used for fries in sugar water better known as dextrose

Jaimes thanks?.. but I was serious
Six feet, 170 pounds now...looking like I did in college, almost...I'm 56.
what is intermittent fasting?
i started fasting once i started to have a sex life and wake up at 12 pm, but only get out of bed to eat at 16 pm, quite an experience, considering my last meal would be around 22 pm.
Lots of folks I know lost a bunch or arthritis pain as well.
Lazvt84 great job. I do IF and lazy keto and the knee pain subsided so much, it’s amazing!
@xrcrx ftfghjg how so? Can you explain a little on you're all encompassing blanket statement.
Same here.. fatty liver disease and diabetes. Have cut down on sugar and feeling much better. Good luck to you!
actually it shows how much water retention you had. nobody is gaining six pounds a week just from sugar so the opposite doesn’t happen either. sugar = carbs = water retention = water weight
It was a choice between sugar or heroine. So I made a healthier decision and opened a soda. Don't judge me. It's all relative
Trying to figure out the scenario where are you forced to choose sugar or heroine. I am imagining you tied to a chair at gunpoint. The best part of the video is the baby trying to be part of the conversation.
They say it takes 21 days to lose a habit.
So a while back I decided to quit suger a whole month, for good measure.
The most important thing I gained is self control over the craving impulses for something sweet. Very recommend!
these are the easiest things that help the most:
- no fizzy drinks sodas and so on
- no candies
- no sweet snacks
- no energy bars
- no flavored yogurt
- no sweetened cereals
- as little chocolate and ice cream as you can live with
- cakes are for celebrations only
Edit: also no sweet cocktails ;)
Any advice?

Very Dark chocolate - 80-90% cocoa solids, actually burn belly fat!
What do i have to eat for breakfast fruits or??
Coocking is boring as hell though.
Baron von Limbourgh yes which is why I listen to RUclips when I do it...
@@52darcey i usually just eat out. Have someone else cook that meal for me.

The hell is milk tea?
Johny Drbušek you add milk in tea :)
what if i dont drink tea or coffee already? is that any good?
fukthegoog That's true.
Your parents are officially the best that made me laugh so hard

Alcohol is liquid sugar....... Marsha.
@@terrelllewis7508 Fruit juice, Coke and Pepsi are literally liquid sugar.
@@terrelllewis7508 Sugars convert into alcohol in the fermentation process. Maybe some residual sugars, especially milk stouts!
