- This 1953 Goldtop is one fantastic example of an early Les Paul! This beauty came from the collection of former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist, Ed King. Loaded with it's original P-90 pickups this Les Paul can cover nearly any genre with ease, from jazz to blues or some of the most iconic sounds in rock and roll.

That guy’s thumb is a better bass player than most bass players.
he is probably a better bass players than most bass players also
This young man enjoys playing. A smile on his face. I look forward to seeing him play. Chet would be proud of him.
This new set of short videos showing Joe Robinson playing vitage instruments is absolutely delightful!
He’s got a beautiful touch and tone. Gorgeous tone starts in a player’s head.
❤️🎶❤️ Joe is a so good guitar player 👏👏👏 one of the best the world 👍 love Joe 💥 Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Joe Robinson is a ridiculously gifted and subtle, elegant MUSICIAN. Thank you for turning instruments demos into memorable performances.
It is one thing to even play like this. It is on another level entirely to play it so damn clean.
AND: thank you for playin clean. Clean is the real deal, especially with such fantastic instruments.
To this day one of the most incredible things I’ve seen. This guy is just a whole vibe and the playing is insane.
I'm always looking forwards to more videos of Joe playing, love his demos! Few others have the same sense of style as him.
Masterful playing on the same year of Les Paul as my own. These demo's are a breath of fresh air. Really inspiring stuff.
Trust me I'm deep diving all his appearances and he picks perfect runes for the instrument. Legend
That is some wicked picking - like Chet, Jerry & Tommy E all rolled up together. I've gotta hear more Joe Robinson!
SO amazing! a perfect way to relate to that guitar!
Pure taste, incredible playing! 🙌🏼
That is the "Holly Grail" Gibson Les Paul...imolol
P-90's
Wraparound tailpiece
WoW!!!!
Thanks for letting me hear it being played! I'm gonna have to listen to it again, I think...lol
It is nice to see that smile. Great video.
Joe just kills it, again. Songs/videos where he plays with alternate thumb picking seem to be my favorites. He just nails the groove AND the melody, almost like a counterpoint.
Amazing guitarist - I need more!!
Absolutely Beautiful Playing and Tone. Thanks it made me smile ☺
Chet:: you should get a thumb pick!
Les::.... why would I do that?
Chet:: that way you could play with yourself!
Way cool 😎
Nice guitar tone and perfect playing!
Joe's great........love the '53 too!!
The skill to be able to play this clean with a tone that clean...wow every possible mistake will ring out tremendous playing
LOVE this.. wonderful piece..
Class act in every regard. Wow.
Wow!!! This just might be the greatest tone i've ever heard!

Lester would be proud! I don't think even he coulda made that sound better!

It sounds so great !!!! Good job Joe, as usual !
Wow! His chops were made for the Les Paul!
This is so ridiculously good and tasty

This is outstanding..love those p90 Goldtops !..but here we go again with that delafonical adjusted, sonically enhancing extra extra special 'lectricity and those "dual flux" capacitors ...😂😂😂😂😂
Delightful!
cool ⚡⚡⚡
0 dislikes. I'm proud of you guys.
Sounds great
Hey Joe- I hope you bought this guitar. It suits you perfectly!
I have always been impressed with the audio from these Carter videos but this is one of the best. Carter, any chance you'll share with us what you're using in terms of preamps and compression and stuff? It looks like a Fathead and then a dynamic mic of some variety, hard to tell from the angle but I wanna say a 441 as it looks sort of square. Anyway regardless, it sounds magical and it makes me happy in my soul to hear an instrument that's nearly 70 years old still getting played and sounding absolutely superb, in the hands of a master.
Also can we all agree that Ed King had basically the most insane guitar collection in the history of mankind I mean honestly. Certainly the best Les Paul collection that's for goddamn sure
I had a 1953 Gold Top just like this one. Then I discovered the Strat and sold it. When I called our local vintage guitar guy, he asked how much I wanted and he said he'd have to see it before he could agree to the price. I took it to him and opened the case and the first thing out of his mouth was, will you take a check? The guitar had already been sitting under my bed for 2 years.
Yes! Probably the most all-round electric guitar ever made ...
Amazing. Anyone knows how this piece is called? And is there any sheetmusic/tableture available?
This dude is top of the food chain
Im guessing that guitar has been on the planet since 53 and Joe is the best player to hold her.
Yes! Music instead of licks :)
My goodness so complex with a ton of surprise voicings and notes
Is this a Chet Atkins song or an original arrangement? Either way, marvelous
So cool) What is the name of this melody? Pls)
Che sogno...
Ahh P90s sound amazing. Much better that humbuggers
What's the song being played here? Sounds so good
Byron’s Bounce ? 😊
@@brigittetorres9745 thanks!
Anyone know this song?
Nice playing. Must get a thumb pick.
Anyone know the name of this tune?
Yeh but can he play e minor?
any idea of the title of this song ?!
Tutorial please 🥺
Why is everyone talking about Chet this and Chet that? This man is joe
What song is this is this a song?
Best guitarist in the world?
He makes me give up any pretenses of being a guitar player
Close to chet real close
Nice Price !! Really 😂
Shhhmmooth
Too bad we can't listen to bridge pick up, and both pick up together. It's more a "Joe Robinson plays a 1953 Gibson Les Paul" videao, than "1953 Gibson Les Paul played by Joe Robinson" .Great sound and playing nontheless.
Anyone can flick a switch but Joe just demonstrated a whole palette of colour. Perhaps you are more interested in the tools than the craft?
The skill to be able to play this clean with a tone that clean...wow every possible mistake will ring out tremendous playing
