This guy is the definition of a master guitar player.
I thought the same thing
chet akins
No. This is the guy that trains master guitar players
@@topografer so hes a master master guitar player
I’m a pretty decent guitarist... But this is so far beyond me it might as well be on Pluto. What an amazing and true master.
I only recently came across Jack Pearson and Ive been watching all I can find from him on RUclips. Master guitar player and one of the coolest guys on the scene. Hats off Mr.Pearson. 👍🏻
That was one of the tastiest blues improvisations I have ever heard. It didn't sound like a catalog of old blues licks, it sounded like the guitar was just singing
Jack seems like the kind of person you have known for a long time. He is so at ease playing and talking about the music. One of those awesome players you never get tired of listening to.
He has to one of the smoothest effortless players of all time. So many talented players that never get the recognition they deserve for the time they have put in
Jack Pearson, such a beautiful soul. Love his playing so much!
I love these guys from the south that plays jazz on les pauls and are able to play some really authentic blues as well!
Dickey Betts grew up with, among other things...Western Swing...which is jazz based.
A Les Paul is first for jazz.
The stuff this man plays is beautiful. And for someone that can play such beautiful music, he's very unassuming; I love it.
Always thought I would need an ES335 for jazz but that Les Paul sounds good to me. Changed my mind in thinking a Les Paul was mainly for heavy distortion sounds. It really sounds good clean.
Les Paul himself was a jazz guitarist...
Anything with P90s, Les Pauls, SGs, etc., are what we need.
@@maraviyoso8473 good humbuckers sound no worse than P90s ... they were in fact designed to sound the same as P90, just without the hum..
they have to be unpotted
He's sooo good yet makes it look sooo effortless.
whhhhaaat?! good lawwd! how is this guy not more well known?!?! SMDH! new favourite guitarist. and so versatile! BOSS
Lives and plays in Nashville. Doesn't tour except when he was in the Allman Brothers.Saw him and his band at 3rd and Lindsley a couple of years ago. Incredible live.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Pearson at The Big House a few years ago. He entertained more than a few people who were fortunate to be on the 3rd floor (because it was raining) at the GAABA members jam that Sunday. He amazed us with his version of Whipping Post played on mandolin! The hair was standing up on my arms!
Great guy. One of my alltime favorite players...
What an incredible musician. Thanks so much.... Shally
Such a wealth of knowledge and talent. And super humble.
Exquisite sound I could hear all day, and my ears will never grow fatigued.
This guy is phenomenal! He's new name to me but, as Fate has quite unexpectedly made me the owner of not one but two Les Pauls in as many months (always played Strats and Teles till now), I will practice these licks until I'm good enough to make a vid of my efforts.
this is some damn good stuff, i wanna learn all those jazz chords
Fabulous!!! What a great guitarist
Finally someone who knows how to get a Jazz tone out of a Les Paul. It ain't hard folks, cmon...
Lol ikr
its original purpose is to be a jazz guitar, its made for it
You should hear him on a hundred dollar Squire, just as impressive. Jack is on another level
This guy is really, really good. He either practices a whole lot or he has just got it. Can you hear it? That guitar is singing.
wasn't the Les Paul initially built for Jazz?
8 people' disliked' this - can you believe that? Anyway - what an exquisite musician - thanks for this Jack
yeah, their favorites are the guys in Dragon Force
And they keep procreating... they became 11 at this point! Unbelievable!
@@mathiasmazz Envy.
That smooth touch man...
A great and under appreciated guitar player! 👍👍
Aint into jazz, was just surfin along and found this really cool laid back virtuoso. Gonna have to do some research. LOVE that LP!!! All the beautiful sounds he was getting out of it mmmmm mmmmm good!
Buy his CDs the bang
Holy shit, what a great musician!
Wow, he's got great tone. I really like him, he's a fantastic player, but he's so modest and nice. Very cool.
I really wish someone would upload the rest of this, this lesson was amazing!

Enjoy
This is just AMAZING!! 👌🏻
Whoouuuwww! He is really one of the best!!!!
I'm looking to buy a 1st guitar(2nd technically as I had one briefly years ago) and it's nice to see someone get such a clean jazz tone on a les paul. Gives me another option, though I'd be getting an Epiphone.
some nice soft relaxing music. i love this kind of music. i wanna learn how to play it >.
oh ya , i need more , when sonny gets blue . great playin.
What a nice bloke, and a very good guitar player.
Excellent and mellow sound
A sensational player.
Jack's the best of the best of the best!!!
I never heard of him . Great
It is SO cool that he gives props to Wes Montgomery! I remember the first time I heard him was when I was a young teen obsessed with the Allman Bros. He is just so awesome.
Make sure you subscribe for more vids! - ruclips.net/user/PMTVUK
Sooooooo impressed!
🎸🎸🎸
One has to reevaluate the list of greatest guitarists after hearing Jack play- if Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix and Tommy Emmanuel and Jeff Beck stop and listen and drool and gawk in amazement then you know they experienced the top of the mountain of guitarist with Jack sounding like a God to them. Blues-Jazz-Rock-Rock-a-Billy- southern rock- he is a master of all style’s. Thank you lord.
Nobody played like Jack Pearson... 👏
this dudes a real master!
Wow! awesome playing and tone. I didn't know Jeff Foxworthy played guitar. lol
unbelievable jazz knowledge
You voice is mysterious Sir :) I'll watch it again later
Such great tone! What amp are you using here? Thanks -
Genius at work. And Dickey and the rest knew it, too.
I guess I can take my guitar and make a nice clock out of it..
lol...me too!
Nah either practice harder or take up the bass lol! That's what I do plus the piano! Anyways I'd rather be known as a musician than a guitar player any day! Not that Jack isn't a musician because he definitely is.
Don't give up!!!
yeah, I'm gonna sell my guitars, start playing the flute
Jack Pearson could make a better clock than you out of a worse guitar. :p
Such an incredible player! He sure made my day but I kind of feel as small as a grain of ride.....
@pistonear - This is a Les Paul Standard. The origanal Les Paul Standard Pro had P-90 pickups also known as soap bar pickups.
なんて優しい指使いなんだろう。心地良過ぎる。
Thank you for posting this!
He is sublime
To my shame I'd never heard of Jack Pearson - what a musician!
same here, but glad i just did.
Fabulous ❤
Jack tell Murfreesboro for me. Texas is a long way from central high school. I m glad you made your home a place to remember. Great job on the guitar. My one question is are you related to Kathy. I went to school in Mboro with a Kathy Pearson. None the less. Thanks
i think i just found a new guitar hero!
Totally agree! very knowledgeable and I like his conversational approach to what he knows.
I fumble around on YT looking for players I like and... here is this guy. I LOVE THIS GUY! What the hell? I've never heard of him, which is either my problem for not getting out much or his for not getting out much - ha ha.
I know thats right
One thing is for sure..He was born to play..
so that guitar is a les paul standard pro? sorry I am new just got turned on to this and is killin my head gotta learn this! its like food!
He's not famous and has a very low key personality but I defy anyone that he is not in the top 100 guitarist of all time ...living or dead. He plays the guitar like a person reads a book with no though of how hard it is or what's the next sentence or am I pronouncing this right, Crazy gift he has.
My mind is blown !!!
The first Les Paul he was playing is a great Jazz guitar.
I play Jazz on my Les Paul Standard, It has 57 Classic p'ups, and it has a great Jazz tone.
I sold my L5 because i prefer the LP !
The LP has great sustain , and it responds when I lean on it.
The archtops kinda have the same tone , no matter.
BTW Jack is fabulous , huh ?
Sweet tone..
This guy could sit down with any of us Galax pickers and have a good time!
no doubt, a master guitarist
this guy is awesome!
One of them Jack played a theolonius monk tune with bottle neck slide! I think it was Well You Needn't!
The 2nd les Paul. The sound.. The look.. The feel and playing. Yummy.
Guthrie Trapp turned me on to Jack Pearson and this is a GREAT guitarist.
The Bob Ross of Guitars
Love his accent!
He's the master!
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to get technical for a minute, but I'm always amazed how long his finger nails on the left hand are.
I can play that! Hold my beer!
Thank God RUclips allows you to slow down the video because I am fixing to steal all of this lol.
probably the best jazz guitarist on youtube
and very modest (not like the french )
The chambered LesPaul seems to be his favorite.
He prefers lighter guitars.
with gibson les paul is this? classic, standard or studio??
I think you meant orthogonally -- which I had to look up. Thanks for teaching me a new word! In any, case, hardly anybody really does play orthogonally, and his long fingernails on the left hand STILL seem like they would make playing quite difficult.
very cool
He goes from Wes Montgomery to Duane Allman! No messing around. All music.
And he play a squier strat. He sound even good on anything
The Best
I have no idea how he plays so cleanly with such long fingernails on his left hand.
Awesome
Great!
Very Fillmore-esque here :)
He would make the broom sound great
I would sell my soul to be able to play like that.
Is there such a deal still...? I'am game
You have to head down to the Crossroads.......
Whoever has these videos put the rest back up please! Who took em down in the first place? Some kinda copyright infringement? If so that's stupid cuz u can't get them anywhere else. I've looked. At least I couldn't find them anywhere else including for purchase.
WOW! anyone know the amp or pedal used for the crunchy tone?
It's an epiphone Valve Standard combo i guess (dunno if it helps so many years later xD )
Funny.. who doesn’t dream of a 59 or 57 beautiful burst- but have never gotten, nor ever hears a great jazz- tone- from one. Pretty? Yes. Warm? Yes. But for me, just something missing. Benson played one early on. It just to me sounds - dry?? Beautiful jazz tones on All fenders, and all gibsons- just don’t hear it on a Paul. On the other hand…. Duane…magic.
Jack can make a Les Paul do what it was intended to do which is sing....🎸🎸🎸
does anyone know if this would be closer to a 50s or a 60s model les Paul?
I would say a 59.. ( can be a reissued of course)
What happened to the rest of the videos? There use to be 5. Now there's just the first and 5th!
Anybody know what pickups he uses?
where can I find part 1-4 please?
this guy knows many chords
Once you learn most of those chords start with 3 or 4 notes. Major, minor, 2,4,6,7, 9, 11 or diminished. An extension is just one note. Once you invert them, you’ll know a lot of chords too.
