I am also a brand new knitter, and also a seasoned crocheter. Totally understand and so happy to see a video of a newbie knitter because I can relate! My newbie knitting problems are figuring out how to hold the silly yarn and my tension is way too tight while holding two needles instead of one hook. If I can master those things I can start to enjoy it. Thank you for all your videos! You make beautiful things!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾love that you did a version in both knit & crochet. My grandma taught each both as a kid. The skill set comes in handy when the holidays come around, or a quick baby shower gift.
The longtail cast on is much quicker. I have only been knitting for about a year (off and on) so I am still a beginner. There are several ways to cast on, some are for rib hats where the cast on has flexibility and some for scarfs, shawls ,blankets etc.Great video. God bless and keep you safe🙏🏻❤️
I would totally have kept saying hook instead of needle 😂 ... Seriously though, I really like the way you hold your work. The beanie is adorable! I can't wait to make it.. 🤗 Thank you so much!!
hahahaha oh my goodness I was kicking myself when I edited the video and heard how many times I said "hook"!! Ahhh! lol At least people will know I'm being honest when I say I come from the world of crochet and am new to knitting. Oh dear. haha Thank you so much for the kind note . . really hope you enjoy the pattern!! :)
It's not "ridiculous". I guess It's the way she knows as she said several times she's pretty new to knitting. Of course there are other ways, and choosing one or another way of cast on stitches sometimes depends on the project you're working on. If you want more stretchy the first row or more tight.etc. No need to be rude.

You have such a soothing voice! This is a lovely pattern!
Los dos son muy bonitos, pero creo que me gusta más el de crochet. Gracias por compartir, he aprendido mucho contigo. Besos 😍
it was the way she kept saying hook for me hahahhs, love it💗
So pretty! New subbie
Can I ask why the cast on method is like that? I’ve watched a few videos and they all do this now by the newer knitters?
Ridiculous way that your casting on. There are much easier ways for beginners.
