- Almost everyone has heard of Bali in Indonesia, but did you know that Lombok is also an amazing tropical island right next door? There are a few differences, one being that it's much less crowded than Bali, and feels like it's back in time 20 years. But there's still a lot to see and explore in Lombok. We stayed at Selong Selo resort and residences thanks to Elite Havens and privileged to receive their VIP concierge service which makes travelling so much easier. I recommend it! Selong Selo is a new luxury resort style place with many individual villas. It's still very new and they were still building more amazing villas at the time this video was posted. The view and location is absolutely amazing and in proximity to a pristine white sand tropical beach you can only dream of. There's a lot to do in Lombok, we only scratched the surface, I'llshow you more in the next two vlogs. In this episode we also visited Kuta market, the Sasak Sade village which is a traditional Lombok village with quite unusual traditions and walked through the Belanak beach fishing village. I have been to Lombok twice, my first trip 30 years ago. There were no hotels or resorts there yet. We slept in $5 pansions. My second trip was three months ago, just before the travel restrictions. We stayed in a resort that is very similar to this one. Cant wait to go back there again.

Nice video - South Lombok is beautiful, with some excellent surf! But the north has got a lot to offer as well - Mount Rinjani and Pergasingan Hill are worth exploring, and I can see Senaru becoming the next Ubud (although hopefully not as crowded with cars and tourists). Thanks for your vlog.

The only thing I don‘t like about Lombok are the clouds

When I was in Lombok all I remember where the pesky and annoying flies 😝
They were so many continually flying around you could hardly eat the food without swallowing one. Maybe I was unlucky due to fly infestation season.
I'm used to pesky and annoying flies in Australia, but I had no fly or mosquito issues in where I stayed in Lombok.

I like to comment on a particular ..thing washing floor of cow dung it's basically old tradition in Tamilnadu Nadu India .. y we wash cow hence in old periods cow used to eat lots vegeies and medicine plants or herb plants .hence they are dung consists of medicinal and greenie output which is used to clenses home bacteria in floor .it's kind of floor cleaning liquid... I think I told the reason Apted .. visit Tamil Nadu there are more lot of traditional way you can expect ..north india and south India ..differs with many cultural activities.

Look at the big economy gap between the standard life on the villa and the houses of local people, its kinda comparing Ibiza and somewhere around Africa, in fact, its just between 15-30 min distance. I wish your video promoting Lombok can bring more prosperity to the locals and boost up the economics without ruin the culture and authenticity. Keep it up !!!
