I have been to both islands and I know majority would prefer Bali and I actually prefer Lombok more. Lombok is quieter, serene and beautiful. I did enjoy Bali though.
Nicely done video. I have been to both islands and I think you describe the differences and the choices perfectly. I prefer Lombok and the Gilis for exactly the reasons you mentioned - cheaper, more authentic, less crowded. But I can see why folks would and do make Bali their holiday destination too. Don't sell the culture on Lombok short, however. It may not be as vivid as Bali, but it is still charming. Personally, I love hearing the call to prayer, for example. Cheers.

Thnx for the insight of Lombok. Never been there.. I agree about the traffic in Bali but it's save to drive as long as you go with the rest. Now it's forbidden for what I know to hire a scooter there. Of path? Why not going to Sulawesi? Having a beach for your own. Even diving is more colorful there... but ofcourse that's not the title of your video

Overdevelopment of resort areas is harming both islands. IMHO. Indonesia needs to put the brakes on large scale resort construction on both islands. Bali is turning into an example of what should not be done to a tropical island and lombok is looking set to end up the same.

I would prefer Lombok because it's quieter overall! Mount Rinjani is a place I really want to visit!
