Deejays Juicie Brucie Bradley and Dick Summer played the Tom Rush version of Joni's "Urge for Going" several times a night during their shifts and made me a lifelong fan. Pure poetry set to music.
I grew up in Detroit, was attending classes at Wayne State University in the '60s and was aware of Tom's appearances at The Chessmate. I'm so sorry I never went there to see him.
