In the series premiere of Pizza Wars, host Nicole Russell faces off against Best Pizza's Frank Pinello to find out which slice is the true king of New York. And who better to judge the event than legendary actor and pizza obsessive Michael Imperioli? Tune in to find out if Nicole’s thin and crispy round pie is enough to beat out a “secret weapon” Frank picked up from nonna.

Frank is just a fuckin real dude, his vibe is always great and he gets along with everyone
Not a fake bone in his body. His positivity is inspiring.
best dude around, man..
OG Frank! Positive dude.
He's a true OG in the pizza game
Took a couple years but I finally made it to best pizza and of course it didn’t disappoint! The white slice they serve is outstanding! And I got the shirt! Frank is a legend! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
It's strange seeing Frank as a contestant rather than just being the humblest interviewer interviewing a thousand pizza owners, damn miss pizza show
Facts.
Yeah, why is the pizza show removed from youtube? At least I can't see it where I'm from :((

I'm stunned that Frank is not one of the country's best-known celebrity chefs yet. The Pizza Show may be the best thing on RUclips.
Thats where I know him from! I was killing myself trying to figure out why his name sounded so damn familiar
Fr man
If we ever get another Scorcese gangster movie, we need a Frank cameo.
It wouldn’t make sense lol frank is too nice he doesn’t have that kind of personality

Yeah those pies looked 🔥🔥
Many thanks Nonna!
Y'all better get Ryon Webber from Pie for the People up in here. If you don't you doing yourself a severe disservice.
Yo, Pinello's getting fat. Time to get in the gym and work off all those carbs paisá
Frank dropped that Goodfellas reference and no one blinked an eye, damn (pro-tip: garlic doesn't liquify in the pan no matter how thin you slice it)
You can sweat it though.
I think he was meant to say the anchovies liquify
@@s4j1m in the movie they say that the garlic is sliced so thin it actually melts into the sauce. that's the reference.
HE blinked an eye. Jesus

I wish food network shows were like this. People being friendly and no stock negative comments from the judge. If there’s something to critique that’s fine, but on food network shows they’re forced to say negative comments no matter what. People here just celebrating food instead of creating some bullsh*t drama. Love it.
IMO if you want the "judging" to be genuine, they shouldn't know who prepared what. Let the food speak for itself. When you buy pizza in the "wild" you don't get a "story" with it. Let the story come during the build, but not during the judging. If Nanna's way is truly good, it'll show without them knowing. Other than that... I'm starving now. Both looked mouthwatering.
My haters throw rocks at me and IT hurts. I hope they don't throw The Rock at me because I like him as an actor. GAGAGAGAGA!!! I am funny!!! I am the funniest RUclipsr EVAH! Please agree, dear ls
"In the wild" 😂 brilliant!
I do think it would be a little easy to tell who’s pizza it is considering Frank’s style of cooking classic Sicilian style pizza
@@voxeil I’m talking about all future episodes from here on out.
I think this show is mostly about the guests and pizza comes second I’m okay with the format as long as they keep bringing good guests
Frank really won fair and "square"! Ha! Doing a show with Frank Pinello is truly a win for me. Congrats Frank! Thanks for watching! See you guys next week on PIZZA WARS!
I maybe biased but when you got that glow…. 😉 Glad to see you do your thing Nicole! That sicilian slice do look good, I’m actually a middle slice guy 😀. The real question is does Michael I, know who’s the master?!

THANK YOU, CLIFF!
Same here.
I absolutely loved how encouraging both participants were. Most shows like this they are at each other’s throats so this was a nice change. Learned a lot! Can’t wait for the next one!
I like how it’s more of a appreciation of different styles of pizza rather than an actual competition
Exactly, what I got from it.
Yes! It has a really friendly and laid back vibe, unlike a lot of other cooking competition shows.
@@JakeLovesSteak it’s probably because there’s no prize or time limit. everybody gets to try each other’s dish. everybody wins

Nicole, sooorryy
This show has serious potential. Loving the concept. She has a good personality. Lots of potential for awesome challengers/guest judges. And pizza. Lot of beautiful things happening here.
Agreed, but she needs to dial it back like 10%
She talk like teenage girls, kinda annoying tbh
Well said.
@@bairdbiz I think she will. It's a new show. She's gotta find her voice still and settle in. You can definitely see YT personalities like Babish and Weissman change drastically from early episodes to later. Think she will too, but even if she doesn't, pretty good host.
Yeah that wasn't nonna's trick, that was Paulie's from Goodfellas
Right!
@@karl_farbman81 I only put 3 small onions. That's all I put in there!
It's also not true. It doesn't matter how thin you slice garlic, it stays solid.

i love the energy, the vibe, the whole show. no negative comments or competitiveness from either side-just pure happiness and support. great show.
You have to love a competition show that revels in mutual appreciation. True artists loving each others' work is so wholesome.
Better then any cooking shows. No shouting no stress. Straight resepct
Need to see Mind of a Chef
I love how supportive they always are with each other on this show. Sure, it's a competition, but they are always so proud of each other's accomplishments. It reminds me of running track and cross country in a small state and small conference in college. Sure, we wanted to do our best and win, but we would always become friends with and be proud of our competition.
Such a wholesome Episode! Everyone is so kind and loving it really warmed my heart
These two are killin’ it. Love the personality combo. The pizza looks crazy good too.
I love that we don't have the BS chest-puffing that similar types of shows lean on. I ain't watching for tattooed culinary students to talk smack into camera. I'm watching mostly, I love FWF, but also I love food. Focusing on food and love is a huge W
Totally agree the positivity and respect for each other is what I want to see
I love love love seeing two chefs being supportive of each other. Thats how it should be.
Yo they're all really likable. This gonna be a good show.
Such good vibes through this. Genuinely love passionate people doing and sharing their thing. Bravo.
1/2 comments : "I'm too blind to notice the massive wink before Frank joked his "nonna" gave him that garlic tip
Other 1/2: "I'm gonna shit on how he looks"
I like how New York is so inclusive that it's ok to call your pizza NY style as long as it's good.
Frank needs his own channel. Such a cool guy.
I want a round from Nicole’s kitchen every day of my life! Omg she knocked that out of the park. Her pizzas look AMAZING and she has so much passion for her art that it’s intoxicating! I’m drooling over this upload!

Its refreshing how they throw compliments at each other... what a change
As a Long Islander this was amazing to watch.

Had a rough week but watching these two just made me feel brand new - thanks y’all :)
I was so excited for this show and it lived up to the hype so far...I love her vibe and I love the friendly competition feel to it!
Michael didn't seem to pick up on Frank's Goodfellas reference.
You could tell Frank was waiting all day to say that and Michael was like whatever lemme eat. I feel so bad too cause it was a great reference!
What's your pick: Round pie or Sicilian?
Lets be real, grandma wins always.

I wanted both, so I compromised. Ate grilled cheese off the radiator instead.

Watching this in 2022. Been watching Frank for years, so humble and genuine. Would love to share a meal with him.
Gets the razor blade out, still cuts the garlic thicc :D That aside, I could listen to Frank talk pizza all year long.
Chrissy still gets soft drink of choice. He’s from the old school, shouldn’t have to explain himself.

"Did you like the slice?"
"I DID-DENT!"
As a Californian who has never visited NY, I'm always jealous of your guys' pizza selections and how awesome they look. There is a little mom and pop place that I visit that has NY style pizza, but I feel like it likely doesn't hold a candle to legit NY pizza (it's still delicious though, so maybe it's just as good as the real deal thing).
With that said, this seems like a real fun series, and I can't wait to see what comes in the future (including our boy Babish as a judge).
I'm sure that local place is pretty decent, since most of them are. But you are correct in that getting a pizza from NYC area will be a whole different experience.
I've never found a decent slice in California. No idea how it gets fucked up so badly so consistently
I love this series informative and entertaining great chemistry between them
These two are a breath of fresh air to me. Frank is always a gentleman as we know and Nicole is just awesome! Wish you both nothing but love and happiness!
Any time you have Frank on it’s a win! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched his old pizza show!
Seeing Frank back on the screen after this past year of shit, all I can say is I’m even more in love with him now. He’s the realist person on earth and I hope he’s not been down on himself because I don’t think a single person watching this doesn’t still think he’s not only the best/kindest/most lovable pizza maker and host on this planet, but he’s sexy af.
This about to be my new favorite show on FWF. Love the realness in the episode. Y'all kept it 💯
Respect!
I remember trying Sicilian Pizza for the first time. It's the best pizza I've ever tried, and I'm watering in my mouth now.
Frank Pinello reminds me a lot of Jackie Aprile Jr. from The Sopranos. "I'm gonna make this bomb-ass pizza for Chris Moltisanti that he can't refuse... outta respect for my fahduh."
Love 'the stance' so much! She is just wonderful 😍
Great personality right??

This is the 1st time I'm watching pizza wars I'm liking it
Well, this IS the first episode (outside of the trailer they dropped a week or two ago), so we're all in the first timers club. :)
the fact that micheal imperioli even agreed to do this moves volumes and levels. pizza is good to enjoy so yes i understand, though much so aside that, hes a visionary, writer and also a good director as well.
Love the respect all the pizzaiolos have for each other. Like they may all make it a different way and with their own touch and everyone likes it like that, there's not much "oh mine's way better than theirs." You love to see it
Frank was playing chess trying to hit the judge's nostalgia
There was some serious 'greasing' of the judge going on.
They guest judge shouldn’t know who made which pizza to avoid bias picks like this.
Love it, want to try them both. Be blessed and stay safe.
I appreciate the positive vibes coming from this show.
I'm somewhat of a expert myself. * puts extra cheese on a fresheta frozen pizza *
Same here. Didn't burn my Bagel Bites this morning.
I like Fresheta to be honest. If you cook it on a pizza stone it's a good chew.
Hey if you pimp out those pizzas they kick ass. Throw some extra pepperoni on there, and some bacon bits, and you have a fancy frozen pizza
Hey that's the guy from The Sopranos! And there's also Michael Imperioli!
Loved this! So excited for all the pizza that’s gonna come our way!
