Your now 100 percent a robot from all this plastic cheese😂
❤
🇺🇸🙌😍🌏
so I am going to tell you the history about the dollar slice in New York City born and raised from the bronx. so the first owner that ever had a pizza shop in New York City had a lot of homeless people coming and didn't have enough for the actually cost of the pizza. so he decided to charge homeless people / college kids / just regular kids that didn't have a lot of income dollar slices of pizza. and that's how the number $1 pizza slices in New York city was born. ❤
so now you can stop asking of how the 99 pizza slices were born in New York. to answer your question about Papa John's dollar slices know there is no other Papa John's that sell dollar choices technically speaking there is no other places in the state or the United States sell dollar slices than New York City.😊
I am from Norway and I really envy you guys in NY when it comes to food. Not just pizza. You have so much to choose from.
I mean it's a very big, diverse, cultural city. Norway is a smaller Scandinavian country.
Utvalget i norge er helt jævlig smalt men er også en norsk ting føler jeg
I don't care if it's from chicago NY or italy I love all pizza
Exactly. Amen.
Outright NYC Brooklyn Born and Rasied are we the best? Hands Down! But New Haven Connecticut and Parts of Jersey Believe it or not hands down. Chicago Love It then you got these YUPPIES who would eat Elios RUINED NYC.
Agreed - each is the best in their own way.
Truth, but not all pizza is good 😅
@@NoahEats maybe for you if you have a horrible diet and eat burgers and pizza everyday, but when your a bodybuilder and eat clean 90% of the time like chicken rice and veggies even a frozen pizza is a treat
Dont think anyone can do this better than Mr. Barr. I proclaim this to be the holy grail of NY pizza trail.
And thank you for making it this long. It makes sense. It is a cult after all.
I would agree. J. Barr is a pretty good food guide.
Another masterpiece!! ❤
Thanks 🙏🏻 David
I agree.😀😃😍❤❤
@@HereBeBarr What if I could tell you about a microwavable pizza that trumps the greatest legends of NYC for less than a dollar?
Extra Long Videos are great!
Another great idea Jon. Essential viewing for people. All the greatest hits in this one people. Don't go anywhere else on this topic.
i love these videos bc there's so much joy in you guys trying out new places and excellent food! you can really tell that you enjoy a dish bc of the reactions to them, and as a fellow food enjoyer, it makes me second hand happy to see someone else enjoying a dish so much! thank you for sharing these spots, and i wish you plenty of more tasty meals :D
I was checking out different videos about NYC and just happened upon this one. I wasn't planning to, but ended up watching the video in its entirety! I don't know why, but I just found myself becoming more and more fascinated hearing about all of the different pizza joints there in NYC. Another excellent job, Jon! 👍
👏
Can't get enough of NYC PIZZA! Love ❤it Jon!!
I felt my heart ring with joy with the start of the queens pizza segment. Oh my. Great work.
I suspect I will watch and re-watch and re-watch this.
I don’t know why I watch the whole 2h pizza video - it’s so unnoticeable until you put them all together
Great content- I have not been to NYC yet, I will be and looking forward to try some of those pizzas.
Man I love the pizza videos. Only problem is my stomach growls while I'm watching it lol.
Enjoyed this so much.
Top notch content as always
MORE great content.. yet again. thanks jon :)
dude this is sick thank you for doing this!
It's 2 things that make the pizza the reason why NY pizza is so good is because we have great water quality and then the sauce 👍👍💪😋💯💯💯💯
This video is awesome. what a breakdown! Luigis is dope. I love 99cent slices too thats a NYC thing.
Where is
The Bronx and Staten Island
I hope Ben is getting better. I thought he is back for a second 😢
Love your documentary.
Hi john, I must say that I just love your videos on new York, they keep me updated and informed, I just love new York, I will be visiting again soon, we will arrive Tuesday may 16th, will be staying at a hotel in Chinatown in flushing. Is there any great pizza there that you would recommend? Also any other reasonable restaurants that my daughter and I can eat at that won't break the bank? Our hotel is on Prince Street. Thanks for your time. Love all your videos. Second time visiting new York, Billie from new Orleans, ps. Love new York so much
Wow this is a great video and channel!
I love the back n forth with his cameraman
I’m from Chicago, NY pizza so much different but so so GOOD as well
Watching you eat these pies was something special
As I understand it, there are only two pizzareas in NYC that are still allowed to use coal fired ovens, due to grandfathering in of the law. Lombardi's and Juliana's. Juliana's is actually the original Grimaldi's. Some years ago, Grimaldi's sold out, and the buyers moved it to a larger place next door....an old bank building. But then the Grimaldi owners had second thoughts and decided to reopen, but under a different name....Juliana's....in the same place, and incidentally, right next door to the new Grimaldi's. I've tried both, and I think Juliana's is better. We hit Juliana's by accident, as Google Maps took us there when we searched Grimaldi's. Got there early, and there was no wait.
We've waited long for Lombardi's, but it was definitely worth the wait. Both of these spots have the absolute best, true, coaled-fired NYC pizza. If you want the authentic thing, these are the places you want to go.
Thanks for the tip, my parents are going in December, my mum loves good pizza
@@jocelynsmyth6604 Oh! Please let me know how they like it!
love to see your opinion on Lombardi pizza!
Hands down best vid on YT
The dude at Krave It RULES. Good vibes from him!
Good job 👏
Con ganas de probar algunas de esas pizzas!
I thought I was enjoying this enough then Gianni said 'Buonismo' !!! Finally we got a winner 😄
the krave pizza looks so good1 i definitely wanna try that thanksgiving pizza
I LOVE MARY JANE ! And I thought the fact that I also eat my pizza with a fork and knife was an autistic thing lol Now I realize I DO ENJOY Neopolitan slice more than any other... specificslly Margherita ! and it is impossible to eat a true Neo slice by hand and not lose half the pizza. Mary Jane has been my favorite co-host next to our beautiful, wonderful, late Ben. We love you Ben ! Ben truly made his mark on so many hearts through his work and cool presence on this channel xoxo
There is amazing pizza all over the NYC area. I was also impressed with the pizza in New Haven, CT. Other U.S. cities of mention: Portland, Chicago, and Baltimore.
YEAH , I SEE LUIGIS DOSE NOT PUT A LOT OF CHEESE ON THE PIZZA >> I HAVE A PEEVE ABOUT TO MUCH CHEESE !
I like extra cheese.
4:00 on Long Island it's called Sicilian pizza. :D
At 39:41, they mention a food tour... got a link? We are traveling to NYC next month and would love to hit up a food tour!
Perfect for a viewbinge ❤
Absolutely an amazing cook!
My favorite is spumoni gardens and di fara
Bucket list !
Grimaldi’s is my fave! We have locations here in Dallas Texas. I always get the Brooklyn bridge
Staten Island also has among the beat pizza 🍕 A place called Deninos is amazing. I used to live in BK they definitely have good pizza as well. J&Bs is great, Luigi's also good. L& B also has great spumoni
I never met a pizza that i didn't like! But alas, I had to cut out all grains ( Hashimotos) but I have made great cauliflower crust pizza.
Ben, you’re an Animal! Go for it man!
Love Pizza 🍕 🎉
I wish I lived in New York with all these fantastic look Pizzas!!
I've heard of a petrol head but your a real guru on pizza for sure I'm sold what's the best one your favourite place😂
RIP Ben!
I love pizza but as a native Californian this video makes me wonder what the hell have I been eating this whole time because it sure ain't pizza😅
I would love to do this..
I love John's on W 44th.
"Cramming for a test... I never did any of that" Ben ROCKS!!! 16:47
I went to a siennas pizzeria in Manhattan and it was pretty good.
Okay. Let's do this!
Papa John's doesn't do dollar slices here in Toronto Canada, but they make a very decent pepperoni. I prefer the thin crust. It's crunchier
You should interview the Seagulls lol
So where's this pizza joint that you said was surprisingly good in the Times Square area? You had mentioned it in a different video.
Johns of Times Square for a pie is interesting b.c it's in an old church although i wouldn't rank it as a heavyweight. Next to Penn Station i also like Pizza Suprema for slices.
Vida hermosa 🙏🏻
5:12, and before are most focaccia than pizza
Here's something to think about... is it pizza pizza or peice a pizza for little Ceasars quote
good job
Me dio hambre 🍕 ❤
Great QUEENS episode John! My hometown Forest Hills!!
Love Nicks, but for me it’s the quick drive to Kew Gardens
And Dani’s. FYI the locals or old timers always pronounced it
Day-Ni’s. Do a Staten Island trip if you haven’t yet…. DENINOS is legendary as well as Joe and Pats, but Brothers Pizza is my MECCA!!!! All the best!!!
forest hill is a nice part of queens, the cobbled streets and its seesms like its not even in the city, love it there. danis house of pizza very good l and b spumoni gardens #1
YOUR ITALIAN PIZZA PODCAST ARE GREAT ALWAYS MAKES ME HUNGRY. MOST OF THEM I HAVE FREQUENTED QUITE OFTEN IN MY YOUTH SO I KMOW HOW GOOD THEY ARE. I ALWAYS HAVE A TOP TEN PIZZA SHOPS IN MY HOMETOWN OF NEW YORK AND THE NUMBER ONE SPOT ON MY LIST THAT EVERYONE LOVES IN QUEENS IS MARGARITAS LOCATED ON JAMAICA AVE IN QUEENS. ASK ANYONE OUT THERE WHO IS THE BEST PIZZA IN QUEENS THEY WILL TELL YOU MARGARITAS. AS A CHILD IN BROOKLYN MY MOM WOULD COME ALL THE WAY FROM BROOKLYN JUST TO BUY HER MEAT AND STOP AT MARGARITAS. I AM 66 YEARS OLD NOW AND STILL LOVE THAT PIZZA OF COURSE I NOW LIVE IN QUEENS. I8F YOU EVER DECIDE TO RATE THEM WARNING IT IS IM THE BUSINESSES SHOPPING DISTRICT AND THEY ARE ALWAYS PACKED.
NEXT NEW YORK CITY PIZZA TOUR YOU HAVE TO GO MARGARITAS PIZZA LOCATED ON JAMAICA AVENUE IN QUEENS. I AM 66 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE A PASSION FOR THIS PIZZA ALL THE TIME. I HAVE BEEN EATING THIS PIZZA SINCE I WAS 4 YEARS OLD AND THAT TIME WE LIVED IN BROOKLYN.
John, This is such a great video and I love how many fascinating ways there are to make a pizza, BUT you're missing something: I'm glad you included a Vegan pizza in the last 8 minutes of this video and that Mary gave it a great review, but Are there any Vegan pizzerias in New York?? If so, please add it to this documentary montage. You will not regret trying Gourmet Vegan pizzas. Yes sir, it is a thing and I'm loving them just as much as I use to back in my non Vegan days
You left the Bronx out you gotta go to Little Italy in the Bronx their pizzas are amazing 187 street
I wish these places delivered to the UK
I understand that you have collected your videos in this documentary. Do all these pizzerias still exist since the confinements?
Yes.
Have you guys ever tried new haven,ct pizza?
Yes and apizza is good, but you cannot to compare to NY Style pizza
Que ganas de una de esas pizzas
I love it ..
Mexican make all the pizza here in. Nyc
That spot was the absolute worst Turkey on Pizza? Lmao. Again channel is great but im about to run a show bad enough Dave runs Pizza Reviews who started it but even he can call it. Here and there 🤣🤣🤣
We were in nyc these last 2 weeks and made pizza our food of choice just from watching your videos. Tried the joe’s, bleecker str ,Juliana’s etc.
But we went to chelsea market for taco no1 and on our way out i asked my wife if we can try this pizza place FILAGA. It is the best pizza slice in nyc, IT JUST SLAPS DIFFERENT. We went back again to double check and it is 👌🏻.
Ps. we ordered margarita at every place to keep things even.
Why not have basil in every bite? I never understood that about a simple pizza... Don't you want every ingredient (which is few) in every bite?
Come to Vancouver, BC
The vid made me hungry. I moved from NYC 30 yrs ago. All we have in GA is Pizza Hut, Pappa. John's and Domino's. Ugh. 😢
Di Fara is Heaven on Earth
I’ve been to nyc quite a few times and one pizza place I like to eat at is the OG spot. Lombardi’s. How come you’ve never did a review at Lombardi’s? It’s the oldest pizza restaurant in NYC. 1905. Please do one there.
Upside down would be toppings then cheese on the bottom and crust on the top.
86 street
You need to try Lucia’s in flushing it’s older than I am 40
I would love to see this guy come to Chicago
I filmed a video in Chicago look up here be Barr Chicago
such a great video! Reminds me of @davidsbeenhere documentaries.. super long and informative! Thank you!!
David inspired me!
Hi, I'm watching from Atlantic city area in the state of New Jersey.. Like the monopoly game.. Anyway, I love your recipe.. I do something similar however I like your technique much better.. I make scallion pancakes the Chinese style.. It is very tasty, but I like how many layers you have with your recipe.. I will be trying it right after I finish this text.. Thank you in advance, I know it will turn out great.. You might like to try dipping your version in some Chinese style dipping sauce.. I use a good soy sauce, some tangy rice vinegar, some toasted sesame oil, ( not too much, very potent), some Sambal or some spicy element, a dash of sugar for balance and some chopped scallions.. Use the type of vinegar you prefer, it's gonna be to your own tastes, so keep that in mind.. It really kicks up the dish with a good dipping sauce.. 🙂
New Jersey New York sucks on pizza, Chicago.Deep dishes better clean chicago's tavern pizza is better
Krispy Pizza on 13th Avenue Brooklyn also gkad they opened up in Central Jersey 4 spots where we all movd to besides Yes! .... Florida and split it up. Get there Grandma Pie. Jersey we used to laugh but just like Connecticut go to Santillos in Jersey very very old school and one of the best with the Old Ovens gives it that flavor. Again leave the $1 to the yuppies.
Gahh I wish you would list all of the names of the places in order. Did you? I just don't see it?
I love the 99 cents pizza lunch in Chinatown because I need my budget for all the good merchandise. SN; I love NY accents
Bensonhurst Born and Rasied! He is right on the Money... The BEST! To bad its not the sane NYC we all grew up in. FYI any state we moved to it is true its the NYC Water 💧 L&B well it's just L&B the sauce makes it.
22:35 the beat name?
Luigis is awesome but Sallys in New Haven is as good just depends what experience you want.
I would definitely eat a pizza that is a full Thanksgiving meal on one
Have you ever been to seaport in NY to eat?🙂
HEY MARY JANE THE FRESH MOZZARELLA IN NEW YORK IS THE SAME AS IN ITALY !! why don't you get it.
Anyone know where the worst rated pizza, I’m going to NY in September I don’t wanna get burnt 😅
