Rice Noodle Rolls for dim sum (aka Cantonese tapas) is drenched in a sweet soy sauce, not just regular soy sauce. Also, Manhattan Chinatown is early immigrants from Guangdong plus Hong Kong (one reason you hear the Toishan (Cantonese sub-dialect) spoken there). Flushing is newer Chinese immigrants that are mainly from Northern and Central China (Sichuan, Hunan, Shandong, Shanghai, Shaanxi (Beijing), etc.

It's all carb heavy. My family's traditional Hakka food has more vegetables instead of sauce noodles and dumplings.
Carbs and sugar are the cheapest ingredients compared to meat and veggies. This stuff is tasty but you're going to gain weight if this is your daily intake.

Hi Jon, could you do a video about German restaurants in New York City? I know as a tourist you should try the food in NYC that is not available in your home country. But I would still want to try it because I want to know how close it is to the original (similar to Chinese food in Chinatown). And I'd love to see your reactions to German food. :D
    Greetings from Germany!

This is a great video, thanks. Just to let you know though, as a Portuguese person, that is not a Portuguese egg tarte. The real deal is called pastel de nata and if you ever get a chance to try a proper one, I highly recommend the you do 😊

    • @3Axel1996

Correct, the tarts eaten in Brooklyn are the MACANESE (from Macau, a former Portuguese territory until 1999) version, not Portuguese. In Cantonese, they are called Po Taat (Po is Cantonese for Portuguese, but in English, they are known as Macanese, not Portuguese).
