RTD is devastating DW by turning it into heavy fantasy story telling format; thus, as fantasy we are expected to blindly accept whatever is told to us as mythical and magical without questioning if it makes any sense! and beware, if you criticize the new mythical magical approach then you get canceled (out of context) as a bigot and phobic because on the realm of fantasy anything goes so now the fans are the problem for not getting onboard with the new content.

    I'm a fan, being watching since 1969.
I LOVE that Dr Who's writers have never been bound by what was written before. Sit back and enjoy the show, or decide it's no longer for you and go and do something else more interesting instead. It will have good periods and bad (let's not talk about the Space Babies), but that's life.
Rule 1 of writing fiction. You are only bound by the rules you choose.
Dr Who only got regeneration powers because the series was unexpectedly popular, and they needed a way to continue when Hartnell's health failed.
It's as bad as all the numpties wittering on about how Dr Who has gone woke. Dr Who has been the wokest thing on TV since, well, at least 1969. Were they not paying attention?
These so called fans would be exactly the same people in Tudor England complaining that some woke snowflake had translated the Bible into English.
OMG, I've just looked at some of the comments whinging that Dr Who is now Fantasy. Mate, OF COURSE IT IS. It always has been. He has a magic wardrobe and a magic wand, always has done. Didn't you notice? Jeeeez.

Change is OK if it's to keep the show going in a good way out of necessity, like changing Hartnell to Troughton and introducing the regeneration cycle. Then later on extending it after Matt Smith. Forced changes for the sake of messaging, pandering to the minority, box ticking and blatant tokenism which is detrimental to the character and his origins (what we are getting now) is not welcome.

First off, while I was still able to very much enjoy the episodes overall (except, perhaps, for Space Babies), and thought that the scripts were quite good and that Ncuti Gatwa was excellent as The Doctor......RTD added elements to these episodes which were unnecessary and divisive, and only served to alienate many fans. He has cheated all Doctor Who fans with the reveal of Ruby's mother. Now he has made it clear that he has no problem further messing with the tradition and canon of Doctor Who. He needs to go away at this point. The BBC needs to replace him before he can do further damage. Having said that, many "fans" of the series have been quite stupid in their approach to all this, allowing personal prejudices and bigotry to cloud their judgment, instead of attacking RTD in a reasonable, civil manner. Their racial and homophobic slurs have only resulted in both Disney and the BBC not taking them seriously, and thus ignoring the tremendous backlash against RTD. Not smart.

Yeah, I feel the same way. 45 years of being a fan of the series (even when I didn't always like the stories we were getting, I always had hope it would get better again), but after the 60th non-specials, I couldn't do it anymore. I had only been back for 3 episodes (after being away for 2 years)... and I didn't like any of them. So I decided not to bother with the show going forward.

How is it woke? I haven't seen any wokeness in series 14. Just because something might be woke once doesn't mean it will always be woke. Also, are you calling it woke because you don't lke the direction?

What about them? I don't see anything wrong with transgender characters existing.
"and, when have you ever seen any of the Doctors kiss another man. "
Do you not know how regeneration works? It rewrites the cells. The Ninth Doctor even said Time Lords can regenerate into anything.
"Should that be shown on a Children`s show? Definitely not. "
I'm sick and tired of the "LGBT shouldn't be a thing in children's show" mentality. Apparently, straight romance and representation in children's shows is okay but non-straight romance is problematic? That's ridiculous.
